Dates on photos(adobe elements 10)

I have noticed that underneath my photos in organiser and editing the date has no relevance to the photos, i know i can change the dates but any ideas why the program seems to be putting random dates with the photos.

There are a fair number of dates attached a given photo. Date when image was shot by a camera, when it was moved to a computer, when it was last opened, when it was last modified, and many, many more. There could be a different date attached to each of these items, or no date at all. The date you see in the Organizer is some date that is provided by the file to the Organizer. We would have to look at the file and it's metadata to determine what date it is looking at. And that would also help answer the question why.

I ran DiskWarrior, which "scanned the disk named “Macintosh HD” checking all files and folders for damage and potential compatibility problems.
1 file had resource data that was found to be damaged.

I deleted Adobe Elements 10, as well as Adobe Elements 10 Organizer, reinstalled Adobe Elements 10, and ran DiskWarrior again. Again, the same file had resource data that was found to be damaged.
Should I be worried about the problem? Has anyone else found the same damage? What can be done about it, short of Adobe fixing the problem and issuing an upgrade?

First of all, I personally don't think it's wise to run pre-emptive strikes with repair utilities. Use them when you actually have a problem.
If you uninstalled PSE by deleting it, you have a problem. You MUST use the uninstaller in Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. PSE is not a nice tidy package like most mac apps, and there are bits and bobs all over your hard drive. Try running the uninstaller now, but it may well not work. If it doesn't, post back.
IMHO, running DW unecessarily is more likely to cause problems than to fix them. I'm always hearing from enthusiastic DW users about how it narrowly saved them from a major failure of this or that, while people who don't run these utiities don't have these crises at all. It's great when things really have gone wrong, don't get me wrong. It's the very best for fixing serious problems, but OS X just doesn't need all that maintenance and actually runs better without intervention, most of the time.

How can I change dates on photos in Elements so I can control order of photos in album in adoberevel

I have some of my photos in adoberevel albums, and have learned the only way to change the order of those photos in those albums is to change the date or event in my Elements 9 library. I'd prefer to work with changing the photo date, but don't know how. Can anyone help me?

Jon, Thanks for responding. I have only the "free" cloud uploads allowed on Revel, so they were uploaded automatically some time ago. When I first looked at them, they appeared to be a total disaster and I decided not to look again, and was happy to keep my images on my computer in Elements 9. But looking yesterday (someone had contacted me about images of my art), I found things looked better. The only problem is the sequencing of the images, and from what I read on a Community thread is that I have to change either the dates or the events. Well, today I saw how to change the dates on Adobe (only did it with one photo as a test), but that ____ so far___ has not changed the sequence in Revel. So, I will close and re-boot my computer to see if that makes a difference, and get righy back to you. Thanks again for responding!

Date stamp photos in Elements 5. using.EXIF data.

Help please: Is there an extention available for elements 5. that will enable me to copey the date in the EXIF data simply with a few clicks onto the bottom right of my photos, like my old 35 mm camera used to.
I still prefer to have my pictures printed and put them in a hard back album, to add imformation afterwards is very time consuming,

I am in the same boat as Barry. When I try to run D2C, I get the same message (except the number given is 0xc0000135).
I get the same result from stripIPTC.
I am running Windows XP Home. Would it help to play around with "compatibility modes"?
I am surprised that a convenient method of date stamping images is not more commonly provided as there must be many situations, such as documenting the progress of a building or landscaping project. Particularly if there is some dispute, photographs with reliable dates and times recorded can be very valuable.

The size of your photos and videos you mark in Elements for upload depicts how much data is being uploaded. However for download, only small size previews get downloaded first unless you download the originals from Elements whenever needed in any Elements workflows.

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

I want to back up my photos, how do I find out the total size of all photos in Adobe Elements?

You're backing up hundreds or thousands of files: There's the catalog (database) itself and also the media files.
In PSE10, when doing a backup, PSE displays the size of the backup before you begin the actual backup:
I assume PSE8 will have something similar.

How can this unsightly watermark be removed. It has severely hampered my timeline to start and finish this project. Why would a purchase software product purport to be a "trial" version?

This indicator will appear when you have not registered your product or typed in the serial number for the product.
Once you've added the serial number, any future products will not display this indicator.
To remove this this indicator from videos created before you added the serial number, you'll need to delete the rendered files.

Can't sync photos with Adobe Elements 6.0

Hi I am unable to sync my photographs to the iPod using Adobe Elements 6.0 The albums are not showing up in iTunes. I read somewhere that it may work if the photos are in "collections" & not Albums but I can't work out how to do this.
The iTunes help section says that Elements v3 or later will sync photos. Can anyone help me on this? I did wait for the latest version of iTunes before asking.

I solved the mystery. It had to do with the file metadata in the Photoshop Elements catalog. When I moved the catalog (pictures) from my old machine to the new machine, the path (folder location) of the images changed. So, although the catalog had cached thumbnails of the photos to display in Photoshop Elements (which tricked me into thinking that the path to the images was correct), the paths were actually wrong. All I had to do was “reconnect” the missing images (a feature in Photoshop Elements which corrects missing/wrong paths to images) and now everything works correctly (sync in iTunes).

I've been using Adobe products for very, very close to 30 years, and I have never hear of an "Adobe photo book service".

You can download it from the Adobe site as a trial version and then use your serial number to activate it to full use.

The thumbnail cache is separate and lives in the system files.
You could try a new catalog - it doesn’t involve any duplication.
Click: File >> Catalog
Click the New button
Give your catalog a name e.g. My Catalog2 (or whatever you prefer)
Check the box Import Free Music - that will bring in the Adobe MP3 tracks used in slideshows
Then click OK
When the new blank catalog opens click: File >> Get Photos and Videos >> From Files & Folders
Navigate to your root folder (normally Pictures or My Pictures or wherever you put your photos) then press Ctrl+A to select all sub folders or make sure the checkbox is marked.
Click Open or Get Media
Wait for Elements to complete the import, accept all keyword suggestions (select all) and then wait for thumbnails to finish generating.
N.B. You may not get all the metadata (keywords etc) but in view of the problems you have had it may be your best hope.
