Dates shifting by a day in shared calendar

Hello there,
I have a shared calendar with my band where I'm the administrator. For some reason, everytime one of my friends input an event it shows in my calendar in the wrong date, more precisely it shift one day forward and displays always that the event is set at 1am.
So for exampe, if my friend input that our gig is on saturday April 27th at 10pm it shows in my calendar on sunday 28th at 1am... and this happens with all the events.
We all have iPhones and Mac computers so we thought this was a good option for us to keep a schedule visible for all. We'd really like this to work.
Please help
Thank you.

  • Birth date shifts back 1 day when changing time zones

I live in China temporarily, but I come back to the US frequently. China is 15 hours ahead of the Mountain time zone in which I currently am. This trip, many of my birthdays were listed a day earlier in Address Book, thus being reflected incorrectly in iCal. Why would this happen? And how can I prevent it??? Very annoying!!

    Amaneta,
this happened to me too once when traveling between EU and US, it was not the date that changed but all my appointments shifted 10 hours in iCal and Palm.
Can't remember if there was a solution posted but I changed my Mac time to CET, installed a backup from the previous day on my Palm and deleted the iCal appointments before doing a sync with the Palm.
Scary stuff for sure. See if just changing back the time to China time solves your problem (at least partly, you will not be in sync with US time), uncheck automatic time zones in Preferences/Date&Time

  • How can I alter a calendar script to place progressive dates on every day in the calendar year?

Is there an easy way either to alter the calendar script or create something that will allow for variable text in each day of the year?
I am creating a calendar for a cattle rancher, and he wants to include a gestation calendar in the design.
So...instead of the Julian date on every caledar day, he would like to include the date that a calf will be born if the cow had been bred on a particular day.  For example:  On the calendar date, January 1, in that box, another smaller date will appear - 10/9, On January 2 - 10/10 and so on. But, I need this progression to continue throughout the whole year.
I have attempted to manually enter each date in a separate table and super impose it over the calendar, but this is very slow and very tedious. There has to be a faster way.
I am comfortable looking at code and can often times figure out which fields to change, but I am a bit lost on this one. Where do I start?
    Please help!
    Thanks!

That helped, but still did not solve the "continous scroll" question.
I did however discover that if you go to Search and type in a "common" letter like "s", a Continuous List view will appear.
Any further help on how to do this as a default view would be appreciated from any and all.
Thanks for the help and for the link paulcb.

  • Is there a way to repeat an activity in the calendar monthly on the same day, i.e., the 2nd Wednesday of each month?  I can repeat on the date but not the day of the month.

Not with the stock calendars app.

The headteacher has just upgraded his Ipad to I07 and when he goes into the school shared calendar any all day events come out red and then other events on that day are obscured as the red covers the whole day

I  have the same proble. In all views all day events don't show up. If I search for the event, there is a result but it does not appear in the calendar.

  • Date Shifted Events in Calendar

In the Month View and the Day View of Celandar under iOS 5 all of the entries appear correct. However, in the List View a major problem appears.  All of the entries appear to be shifted one day earlier.  So, for example, an event X which appears (correctly) to occur on day 2 in the Month and Day views, appears to occur (incorrectly) on day 1 in the list view.   I have tried individually removing the different calendars (work, home, exchange, etc.) and the problem persists.  I have also tried all of the suggestions posted in the thread dealing with duplicated and lost calender events, all to no avail.  I hope that someone can help with this.

I have a similar problem on my new 4S. Syncing with Google calendars successfully for 2 years with my previous iPhone 3G, the newer handset has recently delivered the error you mentioned in your post - events being listed one day earlier than on my Day View, but worse than that, everything shifted to a Day before in all views.
I seem to have recovered it now and it did this...
Hard reset of iphone (made no difference actually).
    Backed up iPhone via Itunes.
Switched off Calendar Sync under Google account on iphone (Settings/General) - deleted calendar on iphone as prompted onscreen.
Switched Calendar sync back on iphone (under Settings/General/etc).
Set my timezone on the iPhone to Manual for where I live (although on Auto is was already set correctly anyway)
Result? I got my Day and Month view back properly but NOTHING appeared in List view until I did teh following:
Under iPhoen Calendar - viedwed the list fo Calendars and unchecked mine (only one in my case which was Google Calendar). Re-checked it and then looked at list view and its all back correctly.
Itrs true to say that this all started going wrong when I travelled into a different time zone two weeks ago, but that does not explain why when back in my own timezone it failed to correct itself. Another one of Apple's flakey implementations I guess. I moved away from using Mobile Me for calendar sync and will not use iCloud because it lost all my work calendar info and deleted my calendars on MobileME and Outlook on my PC. Since swicthing to Google calendar sync I have had no issues other than this recent thing above which I seem to have corrected.

  • HT204150 I mistakenly deleted my calendar and my shared calendars from my I pad. Is there any way to bring the data back

I mistakenly deleted all y calendar entries. And shared calendar eateries.  How can I get this data back onto my iPad

If you've been making backups to icloud, then you should perform a restore to the ipad, unless you had the data on a computer, in which case you could try to restore the calendar file from a backup.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  This will erase your phone.  Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your phone is new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

  • Fix for Bolded Dates in Outlook 2010 Shared Calendars

Is there a fix for seeing bolded dates in navigation calendars for shared calendars In Outlook 2010  (when appts have been made on certain dates) as was the case in Office 2003?
Looks like in 2011 someone posted on the forum that it was being looked into, but has there been a fix?  It's now two years later?  I had put this on the Exchange forum, and they said to put it on the Office/Outlook forum.  I've seen it both
places, but no answers yet.  Trying here now as suggested.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
I can reproduce this on my Outlook 2010. It displays the same for shared calendars on Outlook 2013, so far I'd say it's by design rather than a bug.

    Hi,
According to your description, it seems that the issue is related to Outlook 2003. This forum focus on Exchange 2013. Additionally, Outlook 2003 is no longer supported in Exchange 2013.
I suggest we can ask this question in Outlook forums for more professional answers:

  • Outlook not showing all-day events in shared calendars

One of my users cannot see all-day events on shared calendars if those events are marked as "free" (as in the person is not busy or out of the office.) We use these events for a time-off calendar, and being on our help desk she needs to know when
people are not in the office.
We just replaced her computer and this was not an issue on the old computer, just the new one. Everyone else can see these events, the issue is just her on this specific computer. She can see all-day events on her own calendar, she can see all-day events
on shared calendars if the event is not marked as "free", and she can see any event on a shared calendars where the event is not all-day (including "free" events.) The problem is only with all-day "free" events that are on a shared
calendar, and the issue is only present on one computer.
We have tried uninstalling and re-installing Office, we have tried resetting her views in the calendar view, we have tried just about every option that we can find within Outlook with no avail.
    Any idea?

    Hi,
I noticed that the issue only happens to specific user with specific computer. Please do the following checking to narrow down the issue:
    1. please update the Outlook client with the latest patches and service packs.
    2. disable using Exchange cached mode and check whether the issue happens in Online mode in this computer.
    3. Start
Outlook in safe mode to have a try.
    4. Perform a clean boot
in your Windows for the new machine.

  • Adding days to a calendar date

Hi, I have to insert pay periods in a database and need to be able to have a start and end date for each record. To add to the complexity and I have Exempt and Non-Exempt employees with different settings (that is not so important here). An exempt employee enters thier time in 2 week increments. So, as you will see in the code below, if I start on January 3rd of 2000 my start date will be incremented by 13 for each loop though the years and weeks. This works great! However, as soon as I start trying to set my endDate it doesn't work.
Here's what happens. It starts out looking great where my endDate increment is 1 day shorted than the start date (to avoid overlapping). Then toward the bottom of my loop (60 years time 26 weeks) My pay period has a 2+ years span?? Makes no sense to me at all.

Just giving a quick glance, I believe the problem is this line:
endDate.add(startDate.DATE,endIncrement);If you are trying to say the endDate should be the startDate + endIncrement, the code should read:
    endDate.setTime(startDate.getTime());
endDate.add(Calendar.DATE, endIncrement);DATE is a static, final field in Calendar that just tells add() which value to increment (static fields should be referenced through the class name rather than by an instance name).
Let me know if I misunderstood what you were trying to do.

  • I can't add a entry in a shared calendar on iCal (Mountain Lion) but on iPhone it is ok

My Partner is sharing her business calendar with me. (view and edit)
In the past I was able to add calendar enties on my MacBook, iPhone and iPad. Since a couple of days, I can do this only on the iPhone & iPad but not on the Macbook Pro. (Mountain Lion) I can see the entries, I can change time and so on, but i can't select the shared calendar in the edit window.
Anybody has a clue what is going on?
    Thanks

See if you can go to your Calendars App and select a previous event to see what Calendar the event was added to (iCloud or Yahoo). After that is determined you can go to www.iCloud.com or calendar.yahoo.com and add the event there to see if it will populate on your device. Another troubleshooting step is deleting the iCloud account from your device and also deleting the Yahoo account. Then check to see if you can add an event without it syncing to a email. If you can then it may have just been a bug and you can add both accounts back and try adding the event again. I would also recommend only using one service to sync your Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, etc. Such as either iCloud only or Yahoo only, as using multiple accounts means your data is spread around and can be hard to isolate when something goes wrong.

  • Why do I keep getting alerts for shared calendars?

I have a calendar set up in Calendar, it syncs with iCloud.
My wife has a clanedar set up in Calendar, it syncs with iCloud.
Both calendars are shared, so we can see what the others availability is on a given day at a given time.
But why do I keep getting alerts on my iPhone (and only on my iPhone) for my WIFE's events?  I've turned off the "show shared calendar events" button in the calendar preferences on my iPhone, but I'm *still* getting alerts for all her events.  I don't need this, I don't want this, I turned it off... why is it still happening?
My iCloud calendar is defaulted to my calendar.  I do not get alerts on my iMac for her events, only on the iphone.  Can anyone help?  I never want to see her events unless I manually go and look at them on my calendars or in iCloud calendar.

Your System Details list shows that you use a Firefox 31.0 release.
That is not the current release.
The current release is Firefox 34.0.5.
If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the disk image file to the desktop

  • Creating item in shared calendar- it disappears when syncs with icloud!

This has been going on for weeks.  When I create a new event on a shared calendar, the edit window closes and I see my appointment listed correctly.  A few moments later, as the "updating..." line appears at the top of the screen, the event's title and time disappears and it reverts to my default calendar at a random time during the day (same date).  I could create 10 events and the moment it tries to sync to iCloud, they are all GONE!  Anyone else notice this from a shared calendar?  FWIW- it doesn't do this when I schedule directly on icloud.com, but I find the interface to be a pain in the neck to use regularly.  All suggestions welcome.
    Thanks!

To change your iCloud ID you have to delete the account, then sign in with the alternate ID.  Before doing this, if you want to keep your data and move it to the new account, go to Settings>iCloud and turn each of your synced data to Off, and when prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone.  When everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account, the sign back in with your other account ID and turn syncing back on; when prompted, choose merge.
If all your data is already in your other account then you don't need to do this.  Just delete the account from your phone, selected not to keep the data, then sign into the new account, turn on data syncing and if prompted, choose merge.

  • Access shared calendars on exchange 2007

I'm trying to access shared Exchange calendars on my iphone and I cant see how to do this. Does anyone know how to do this?  If i require a 3rd party app to do this, can anyone recomend one please?
I can see the shared calendars on outlook 2010 and I would expect to see them in the calendar list on my iphone.
    Thanks

Thanks, russcus, you've brought me one step closer to figuring out how to use Snow Leopard and Exchange 2007 together. As we're on the topic here, I need to take a moment to voice why Apple's implementation is very disappointing.
Of your 3 suggestions, #1 should just be working out of the box. iCal should be able to see these calendars- Entourage can. As long as others in the organization have Calendar: Properties: Permissions: "default" set to "reviewer", they've granted read privileges to everyone else in the organization. Pulling up a view of another's calendar is as simple as "Open Other User's Folder", enter email address, verify, use. It's a rare and sad day when I wish Apple's software just worked as well as Microsoft's.
While #2 and #3 will work (I verified only #3), it's far more effort on the calendar owner's part. Everyone who might need calendar privileges must be managed separately, vs the wholesale organization-wide granting Entourage can do. This is a unneeded overhead that causes complication whenever staff changes.
Additionally, the scheduling assistant is less useful than in Entourage. In iCal, the availability of others is boiled down to only free or busy. In Entourage, a mouseover of an event in the Scheduling view provides event title and location data (as long as the event isn't flagged as private). My staff won't like loosing the ability to answer the question "exactly what is user X busy with at this time?" if we were to move to iCal.
If I'm misunderstanding something, please let me know. I'd prefer to not be right on these observations, as they're going to be problems in leaving Entourage for the Apple native suite of apps.
Regarding public folders- they are on Microsoft's list of discontinued features:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998911.aspx
I'm just speculating, but I doubt Apple put development efforts into supporting a feature that's on the way out.
