Dates Sync Wrong

I sync my iPhone with Microsoft Exchange. The problem I am having is the anniversary date. I have a date of Septemer 23, 1995 in Outlook but on the iPhone it shows as April 11, 2006. The birthday field works fine.
Any ideas?

This issue is documented in the Technical Information Library under article 61750:
iSync: Some recurring events do not sync correctly to a Palm OS device
Recurring events scheduled on the last day of the month may not sync correctly to a Palm OS-based device.
For example, a recurring event scheduled on the last day of the month (30th, or 31st) in iCal, does not sync to a Palm OS-based device correctly. For example, if a recurring event is scheduled on 08-31, it will appear on 09-30 when the expected behavior would be to skip all months that have less than 31 days.
This issue only affects Palm OS-based devices. The same information synced to other devices, such as a mobile phone with a calendar, behave as expected.

Ssl soap disabled - data sync setup

Setting up data sync. On the gw server (sles11sp2-oes for nss only) I use C1 and set Internal SOAP with ssl enabled.
I attempt to connect to the SOAP securely during the Data Sync install (Grpwise connector settings part of install) - it fails. I un-select the secure SOAP, connection works.
I examine the poa log and I see that SOAP over SSL Disabled. Can't figure out why. Any clues?

A couple of things to check.... your key file and certificate, are they in 8.3 naming standard? I find that spaces, etc, can cause problems.
I created self signed key and crt, although when I cat them in the terminal they look the same. I suspect they are the problem and this is why. I was able to double check the syntax in the datasync install. Once that was all correct, then I was able to connect via SOAP non-secure. So the connection and the trusted app are working. When I attempt to do the install of the GW connector using secure SOAP, it fails. So I did some testing. I enable http to both POA and MTA using ssl, both failed. I get an error that has the following:
SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)
So I change POA and MTA http back to disable SSL and I can connect to them. The only thing I can come up with is that the key and certs are wrong. or not configured correctly.
So, now I have copied my 3rd party cert and keys (which work and are functional for my gw 2012 webacc) to /etc/ssl/servercerts/ and I can get the https to launch for https to the POA, but the cert is not trusted. The reason stated is that these certs are only for the *.domainname.xxx. I think I am getting this error because the domain name on this server is a different domain name (this is a new system that I will point to my GW8 data once it is all functioning correctly). So, I guess I need to change the domain name on the server and in GW on the server. Where do I do that at...........
but I am making progress.....
You didn't mention what OS your GroupWise system is running on, but if it is Linux then the key and cert file name must be in lowercase.

Lastly - when you setup SSL it is not sufficient to do a restart on the post office agent, you actually have to do a stop/start on it.

Thank you for the help and for my rambling, but I am going this alone and often times as I am typing out my response, I get ideas, as was the case this time, and so I posted them. I hope I have supplied enough details.

SQL Data Sync - error during sync. Unable to diagnose the problem.

I have 2 SQL data sync groups setup
First one does a 1 way sync from azure to local db. Sync's only 1 table.
Second one does a 1 way sync from local db to the azure. Syncs 2 tables.
After setting it up and getting a few sync errors I was able to figure out what's wrong by checking the logs and fixing the problems. It was all running fine for a while and now it broke down.
I got a sync error every time sync is attempted - however this time I'm not able to fix anything because I don't have any visibility on what's wrong - when I click on the Log tab in the Azure Management portal it just stays blank - no details come up.

Another detail worth mentioning is that the error only occurs for the Second sync group that I have.
Here's what I've attempted so far
I poked around the azure management portal to try to find another way of looking at the logs - looking for something like ftp access to the log file - couldn't find anything like that.
I refreshed schema in the sync rules tab.
Used the SQL Data Sync agent tool on the premise to do the ping operation. Restarted the sql data sync windows service.
Made sure I have the latest SQL Data Sync Agent installed.
I'm wondering what are my options from here...
I'm close to trying to deleting and recreating the sync group... I'm not too comfortable doing this because I know there are some sql tables that get created in the local db to support the operation of the sync - so if I delete the sync group would that automatically
drop those helper tables as well or would I have to drop those manually - If I do drop those then that will obviously brake the other sync group that works fin as well..

Sounds like a hardware failure.
Make an appointment at the genius bar and take it in for them to look at. It will probably need to be replaced.

I have itunes 10.6.1.7. Whenever I try to sync my ipod touch 4g on windows 7 it says unable to load data class. I cant even go to preferences to reset the data sync because it keeps freezing. Can I have some help?

How Do You Disable Genius Data Syncing to iOS Devices?

- I''m using iTunes 10.7, iPad 2 and iPhone 4 with iOS 6.1.3, mid-2010 iMac with 10.8.2.
- I have iTunes Match tuned OFF
- I back up to the computer, not iCloud
- On the iTunes Summary tab, I have the "Sync only with checked songs and videos" selected
- On the Music tab I have the main Genius Mixes checkbox unchecked, and no mixes under that item checked
- I have Genius turned ON in my main iTunes
Every time I Sync either the iPhone or the iPad, the last thing it does is sync Genius data to the iOS device. Since my main iTunes library is fairlt large (over 12,000 songs), my main library Genius data changes a lot of songs sometime a few thousand if I haven't started iTunes on for a while on the computer. The Genius data sync takes a long time, and sometimes can add 10 minutes or more to an iOS device sync.
I don't understand why it's even sending Genius data to the iPad or iPhone. There are are no Genius playlists on either the iPAd or the iPhone when I open iTunes on them and look at Playlists.

Azure Data Sync Log Take Too Much Time to Load

Hi,
I've found that the Azure Sync Log inside the Portal take too much time to load if my sync group was created long time ago. i.e. for those new sync group with only a few logs, it will take around 5 seconds for loading. However, I've many sync group created
more than 1 year, and it will take me up to 10 minutes for viewing the first page of the logs.
It seems the Portal will download ALL the logs to my browser even I just want to view the most recent logs (maybe I just want to view the last 10 records, but it will download the whole 5000 pages?)
It will be great if the Portal only fetch the data of the page I am currently viewing, instead of fetching all the logs.
Is there any ways to speed up the log loading time?

SQL Data Sync - column type invalid for use as a key column

our sync group is failing to do the sync. Here's a tracingID:

I must say, that the column in DB is not a PK or INDEX-ed, it was initially VARCHAR(MAX), after some reading I changed it to VARCHAR(200) and later to TEXT, but the result of syncing is still the same.

The error “column type invalid for use as a key column” could be due to the existence of unsupported data types or column properties when implementing the synchronization. I recommend you check your database according to this article:
SQL Database Data Types supported by SQL Data Sync.

Azure SQL Data Sync, LINQ optimization bug

How can I report the following Bug ?

The query is optimized to something like this, because the set is empty, and therefore the result set is always empty:
SELECT
CAST(NULL AS uniqueidentifier) AS [C1],
CAST(NULL AS uniqueidentifier) AS [C2],
CAST(NULL AS int) AS [C3],
CAST(NULL AS int) AS [C4],
CAST(NULL AS datetime2) AS [C5],

FROM ( SELECT 1 AS X ) AS [SingleRowTable1]
WHERE 1 = 0
Now the problem is that update and delete trigger, introduced by Azure SQL Data Sync, will fail because they require the primary key, which is not part of the optimized query. Meaning that when the set is empty the triggers will fail, but if the set contains
an id, the query is not optimized and therefore will succeed.
(SELECT [i].[PrimaryKeyId] FROM DELETED AS [i])
Notice, the problem here is not Entity Framework Extended from my perspective, but the Azure SQL Data Sync Triggers!

not sure if i understood your post correctly, but the columns available in the logical inserted and deleted tables available in the trigger are the actual columns of the table itself, not the columns in the query that caused the trigger to fire.

the webI report,
If yes -- check whether able to see data sample in the Excel data provider
Run the WebI Report -- Design Mode -- Edit -- Select the Excel Data Provider --
Check able to see the Data Sample data whichever there in the excel sheet.
If you are able to see the Sample data…then merge common objects (able to merge
only if both the objects have same data types.) then check the data in the
report.

Need help on designing downstream data sync with OLite

We are trying to build a disconnected desktop application for CRM Sales Application.
For Data Synchronization, we would like to use TRS (Transaction Replay Service) for upstream sync (data from client to enterprise server).
For downstream sync (data from enterprise server to client machine), we would like to see whether we can make use of OLite data sync feature.
The client side db schema will be different from the server side db schema.
We have a web version application built using ADF framework (a list of BC4J objects).
We are going to create the client side db schema based on the shape of Sales View Objects.
e.g. an OpportunityVO (view object) is join based on opportunityEO (table) and customerEO (table to get the customer name). In this case, we are going to have opportunity table at the client side that has all the opportunityVO's attributes defines as table columns.
Questions
1. Can we define a publication item based on a view object? And how ?
2. Can we define a publication item based on a db view (at the server side) that
synch with a db table ( at the client side) ? If so, where do we set the mapping?
3. During the compose phase, we would like to call bc4j object’s api to collect the
data content for client to download, is it possible ? if so, how to do this?
(We would like to use the oLite feature to identify changed records, but we do
want to use bc4j object api to get the data content for client to download.)

I haven't given your description of the project and approach a lot of thought yet, but I did see your questions and thought I might point out some help there:
1) Yes, you can define publication items on Views. Section 3.4.1.3.1 in the developer guide discusses this and the requirements of the view.
2) Yes, a publication item defines the base tables for your user. Section 3.4.1.3 in the developer guide is a full discussion on creating publication items programmatically.
Also, you might check into the Mobile Database Workbench for a GUI driven tool to define Publications and Publication Items.
3) I believe what you are looking for here is the MyCompose API. Section 3.6, Customize the compose phase using MyCompose, in the developer guide discusses this.
