  • Is there any way to keep the charge indicator bar onscreen in the lock screen in IOS7? And can I keep the call in progress screen up instead of going to wallpaper while a call is dialing?

IOS6 had a charge indicator bar on the lock screen that allowed me to see at a gance how much charge I had. Now it only flashes onscreen when I first connect the charger for about 1-2 seconds. I know the icon in the top right shows percentage, but it is too small to get an accurate look.
Also, when a call is in the progress of dialing my phone just shows the wall paper instead of the whole call control screen. I can hit the home button then hit the return to call bar at the top of the screen to get the control screen, but that is annoying to say the least. If I accidentally dial a number while navigating my contacts or one of the apps it takes several steps to cancell the call before completion.
I know my wallpaper may be pretty, but I don't need to see it while trying to use the phone instead of having control of the phone or seeing desired information (charge indicator).

I have a similar issue. Sound works okay but keep getting the app not optimized, you may experience a decrease in celluar strength. Verizon says it is a software issue. Apple says it is a hardware. Phone will niot synch to itunes to do any kind of reset.

  • Restart phone when lock screen in magnify mode and cant see keys

whe I try to unlock phone it changes to a magnified screen.  How do I do a reset when I can't see the bar to slide for power off?

Try double-tapping with three fingers on the screen. You probably activated the accessibility zoom by accident. To prevent this in the future, you can turn this feature off by navigating to Settings-General-Accessibility-Zoom.
    Hope this helps.

IIf the battery was completely drained it might take some time before the phone will respond. Wait at least 30 minutes with the phone connected to the charger. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the phone starts up let it continue to charge until it's 100%.
if the broken button will not let you do the reset Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • My iphone 6 is locked in zoom mode and is unusable. how do i fix this?

My I phone 6 is locked in zoom mode and I cant get out. Display is on standard but remains in zoom mode....what should I do?

Well start with the usual of restarting your iPhone. If this doesn't solve your problem I would suggest backing up your iPhone then restoring it via iTunes.

when i am on my home screen or locked screen, my battery usage and service toolbar has disappeared. How can i get it back?

Yeah there's no setting for that. So either you don't have an iPhone, or your iPhone is jail broken. If it's jail broken, just restore to factory and all will be fixed :)

  • HT201210 screen is in a zoom mode and will not open with the slider

Hi, my iphone 3gs screen has gone into a zoom mode and will not allow me to switch on with the slider, or decrease the zoom. When first activated the screen is normal for a second, then zooms in and becomes inoperable, if anyone has any ideas, would be much appreciated, cheers John.

Double-tap the screen with three fingers.   Then go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Zoom and turn it off.

    Thank you for that update.
I would next backup your device to iTunes with this article:

  • Screen zoomed in and can't reduce it??

    Hi,
I have a iphone 3GS 16GB and just this evening the screen has zoomed in and won't reduce... the screen is still reacting to touch but the icons are enlarged greatly... I have tried to reset the phone but it's still the same.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

I would like to say thanks too... I was out having a nice pub lunch with my folks demonstrating my new iPhone, when it started doing this weirdness and I thought it was faulty! I tried turning it off and on again, then tried entering my PIN while frantically trying to scroll around a screen without pressing the wrong numbers... My mum was worried it was her fault and I was thinking I would maybe have to reset it when I got back home, or worse still, send it off for repair...
Thanks to this site and all who contribute, because without you I don't know what I would have done!
Incidentally... What a STUPID STUPID setting to have. I don't know if it is on by default, but I don't recall ever switching it on. And to have it NOT reset when you switch the phone off and back on again... That really needs sorting.

  • Have to double tap screen to open anything and can't scroll up/down

I have to dbl tap screen to open anything and can't scroll up or down. When I toucj once it puts a box around icon.

You have the accessibility VoiceOver feature or another Accessbility feature turned on.
Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn them off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see:

I forgot the code to the lock screen to my phone and its telling me to connect to itunes....what do I do?

You need to connect the phone to your computer's iTunes, and that should recognise the phone and let you reset it back to factory defaults - you can then restore/resync your content to it.

  • I'm getting the grey screen during start up and can't boot the computer. I did a cmnd R but worried it would automatically wipe my hard drive and reinstall OS.  Is there a risk at cmnd R will result in wiped HD without me actively making that choice?

I'm getting the grey screen during start up and can't boot the computer - MacBook Pro with lion.
I did a command r after doing some research but got nervous that it would automatically wipe my hard drive and reinstall OS.
I was nervous because it asked me for language for software use before any options were presented (such as repair via disk utility). It looked similar to an OS install. So I powered off....Is there a risk at command r will result in wiped HD without me actively making that choice?

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    Reinstall Mountain Lion or Mavericks
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is
                    three times faster than wireless.

  • HT4279 I have a Macbook Pro (late 2012) and I would like to connect it to 2 screens simultaneously (1 screen is a TV and can only take HDMI, the other is a larger computer screen and has both VGA and HDMI connections). How can I do this?

I have a Macbook Pro (late 2012) and I would like to connect it to 2 screens simultaneously (1 screen is a TV and can only take HDMI, the other is a larger computer screen and has both VGA and HDMI connections). How can I do this?

The article you cited refers to The Mac Pro, a 50lb silver tower -- not a notebook computer.
    Everymac.com says:
    2nd Display Support:
    Dual/Mirroring*
    2nd Max. Resolution:
    2560x1600 (x2*)
    Details:
*This model supports a simultaneous maximum resolution up to 2560x1600 on two external displays via Thunderbolt. Alternately, it can support a single display up to 2560x1600 via Thunderbolt and a single display up to 1920x1200 via HDMI. Although it can theoretically power all three external displays, as confirmed by a helpful reader, it runs too hot with three displays connected.
Also see: How many external displays can the Retina Display MacBook Pro models support? What is the maximum supported resolution of each? Are adapters required?
When using other than ThunderBolt displays, the ThunderBolt port is directly compatible with Mini DisplayPort, and can be forced into compatibility (with Single-Link DVI or HDMI up to 1920 wide) with a simple adapter.
To adapt to wider displays, an ACTIVE Dual-Link adapter is needed, about US$100.
