Opt out of what? What information?
I assume it's a reference to the government's insistence that all ISPs must implement internet content filtering, and customers must opt out if they want full uncensored access to the internet.
It also appears that one of BT's competitors will route all web surfing through their filters, even if they opt out http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-23452097
It's all vaguely reminiscent of a certain BT trial that we are not allowed to name on these forums.

  • Smooth cam filter problem

    I have been having issues with using the smooth cam filter. Whenever i use a transition from a clip with the smooth cam filter applied i get a glitch frame during the transition. This holds true to every transition. Has anybody else ran into this problem or know of any fixes?

    I've no idea what is causing it but whenever FCP behaves incorrectly it's always worth trashing the preferences.
    Corrupt preferences can create a vast range of different symptoms, so whenever FCP  stops working properly in any way, trashing the preferences should be the first thing you do using this free app.
    http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
    Shut down FCP, open PreferenceManager and in the window that appears:-
    1. Ensure that  only FCP   is selected.
    2. Click Trash
    The job is done instantly and you can re-open FCP .

  • IOS 7 camera filter

    My iOS 7 camera filter won't turn off. All my photos are staying very washed out. I've tried selecting the "none" filter option but nothing changes. Help!

    My problem turned out to be that I had selected "Invert Colors" in the General>Accessibility section. When I unselected this, my problem went away.
    Another possibility (probably the more likely cause) could be that you've accidentally selected a filter that makes the photos faded. If this is the case, just go to filters and select the center box (labeled "none").

  • [AS3 AIR] 2880x2880 Size Limit, Camera, Filter, CameraRoll Issues & Finger Friendly Components

    AS3 AIR ANDROID
    I started playing with this Adobe AIR for Adroid by building an app that would let the user take a picture using the mobile device's native camera app.  Then, I'm applying filter effects to make the image look cool.  Then, I'm allowing the user to save the image back to the camera roll.
    Here are some questions that I have:
    KEEPING UP WITH CURRENT TECHNOLOGY
    Are we limited to the 2880x2880 stage size limit?  Although, this dimension does yield 8+megapixels, it's not in the ratio that most camera sensors are built (widescreen).  Plus, you can bet that newer cameras will have even higher dimensions.  Will this be updated to keep up with current technology requirements?
    IMPORTING & MANIPULATING CAMERA DATA
    Code
    var bmpData:BitmapData = new BitmapData($loader.width, $loader.height);
    bmpData.draw(DisplayObject($loader));
    bmp = new Bitmap(bmpData);
    bmp.width = Capabilities.screenResolutionX;
    bmp.height = Capabilities.screenResolutionY;
    if (CameraRoll.supportsAddBitmapData) {
        var cameraRoll:CameraRoll = new CameraRoll();
        cameraRoll.addEventListener(ErrorEvent.ERROR, onCrError);
        cameraRoll.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onCrComplete);
        var savedBmpData:BitmapData = new BitmapData (bmp.width, bmp.height);
        savedBmpData.draw(DisplayObject(bmp));
        cameraRoll.addBitmapData(savedBmpData);
    } else {
        trace("~" + "Camera Roll not supported for this device.");
    addChild(bmp);
    When you capture an image using the mobile device's camera app, you have to use the Loader object.
    So, here, I am doing just that with these steps:
    First, I'm creating a BitmapData object and sizing it the same as the camera image.
    Pass the camera image into the BitmapData object.
    Create a Bitmap object and pass in the BitmapData.
    Resize it to fit on the stage.
    Check for Camera Roll and then create a savedBmpData BitmapData object at the size of the screen.
    Pass in the bmp.
    Save it to the Camera Roll.
    The problem is that when the image is displayed on the phone, it shows THE ENTIRE (uncropped) image.  However, the image that is saved to the phone is only the top 800x480 corner of the image.  What is wrong?  How do we save an image to the Camera Roll that is larger than the display area of the phone.  It seems like the only way to save the entire camera image is to resize it to fit the stage and then capture the stage into a bitmapData object.
    FILTERS
    If you apply any filters to the bitmapData object, the filter effects will display on the phone, but if the image is saved to the Camera Roll, then all the filters are lost and it only saves the original (unfiltered) image.
    FINGER FRIENDLY UI COMPONENTS
    Do they exist?
    ADDITIONAL NOTES
    The max image size that can be saved is 2039x2039 pixels on the HTC Evo.  Anything bigger than this resulted in a CameraRoll Error #1 (which there is no documentation for what that means ANYWHERE on the web).

  • How to turn off camera filter

    The filter on my camera got turned on and I can't figure out how to turn it off. I looked at the manual and still can't figure it out. Thanks

    Hello Mom2kmjx2,
    It sounds like you are unable to locate where to apply a filter or remove one. You can do this in the camera app in the lower right corner, there is a filter button with this information from the User Guide:
    iPhone User Guide
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph1e767793c
    Apply a filter:  (iPhone 4s or later) Tap to apply different color effects, such as black & white. To turn off a filter, tap , then tap None. You can also apply a filter later, when you edit the photo. See Edit photos and trim videos.
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Why is the SmoothCam (smooth cam) filter not applying to an exported clip?

    I have a clip that required some masking (which my graphics guy did on his PC). After importing the masked clip into FCP, I can't get the SmoothCam filter to apply to it. SmoothCam works great on the original shot from the camera (an MXF file), but not on the clip after it was "tweaked outside" of FCP.
    Does anyone know if SmoothCam has a limitation on what types of files it will work on (ie only raw footage files, MXF files, etc) or is there perhaps some metadata in the raw file that's needed for SmoothCam?
    We had tried exporting a smoothed version before I gave it to him for masking but he couldn't open it on his PC (don't get me started on that! haha).
    He did a wonderful job on the masking (using AfterEffects) but the clip still requires the SmoothCam. And SmoothCam is working just fine (I can still apply it on "raw" clips). But when I try to apply it to this "outside exported" clip, it just doesn't do anything...no error, no indication of analyzing the clip or even trying, nothing at all happens.

    I apologize. I posted this question a little prematurely. After looking through the FCP manual, I found this quote:
    +Note: The SmoothCam filter can be applied only to clips that refer to QuickTime+
    +media files. Also, the SmoothCam filter compensates only for the original video+
    +within a QuickTime media file; the results of filter and motion parameter settings are+
    +ignored. Make sure filters applied to a clip are ordered so that the SmoothCam filter+
    +is applied first.+
    I decided to post this reply in case anyone else came across this issue. Basically, it appears that SmoothCam will only work on QuickTime files (.mov I guess?). My graphics guy had made the file as an MP4 (again..don't get me started I opened the his MP4 in QT and re-exported it as a .mov and SmoothCam is analyzing it right now! So all is well.
    Sorry for the almost unnecessary post. Feel free to comment to expand/clarify my findings.
    Thanks!

  • Feature Request-Low ISO or ND in-cam filter

    As I was stacking ND filters on my camera this last week, I thought that it would be nice to enable very low ISOs, or at least an electronic ND filter.
    I'm not an engineer, but it seems possible to simply reduce the sensitivity of the chip resulting in a ND type treatment without the hassle and quality issues of stacking filters. I would find this VERY useful. (Preferably in a firmware update  )
    Unless I'm missing something...

    Howdy:
    A couple issues.  First, this is, for all intents and purposes, this is a community board.  To the best of my knowledge Canon doesn’t use this for any input, and I see very little output from them on here.   Usually they’ll weigh in on occasion with a quote from the users manual or a legal issue (e.g. pointing your camera at the sun may damage your sensor and void your warranty).  But most the real discourse comes from people like you and me.
    As to the ISO, ND.  Unfortunately it isn’t as simple as simply turning down the sensitivity.  The sensors have a native ISO, a level at which they optimally sense light.  It is them amplified to hit the other ISOs.   To lower the ISO below base you’d have to divide the signal, which would cause a significant reduction in dynamic range.   Most people strive for higher ISOs, and there is a fix for shooting in really bright light (NDs), so the camera companies don’t really put time and money into low ISOs.  I assure you if it was as simple as turning down the sensitivity then it’d already be done by someone like Magic Lantern or even companies like Sony and Pentax that actually innovate camera development.

  • IOS 8 Instant Camera Filter?

    IOS 7 had one of my favourite filters of all time, the yellow "Instant" filter in the camera app. I was saddened to see that IOS 8 got rid of this filter and replaced it with a new, pink-coloured one. Is there any way to get this filter back, or does anyone know of an app that has the same filter available to take pictures with? I searched and it came up empty, so I hope someone can help me out.

    DId you ever find an app with the instant filter?? want it back so bad

  • When I open some images, blank white boxes appear on the image past a certain zoom point in random locations. This does not show up in the tools though (liquify, camera filter, ect). how do i stop this from happening?

    It happens mostly at random, but once it shows up on an image, even if i close and re open it it will still show up. if i zoom out far enough it will disappear, but as soon as i zoom back in again it will reappear. its never in the same spot on different images and never the same size. i was already on with tech support and they deleted my settings folder which seemed to fix it for a short time (like a week), does anyone know what is causing this or how to fix it?
    *this is not my art, just an example of it happening

    it may have worked, but gimping my system isn't exactly a solution, more of a band-aid.
    its the equivalent of the old
    patient says, " its hurts when i do *this* "
    doctor replies," well, don't do that "
    What do you mean "it may have worked" – did it or did it not?
    Anyway it is not a remedy but diagnostics and if it makes a difference it points at the GPU driver as a likely culprit.

  • NAC Profiler integration - cant add filter list on CAM

    Hi All,
    I have a problem regarding the Profiler - NAC integration for end point profiling.
    Here is the situation:
    I already created the integration based on the steps on the guide: Configuring Cisco NAC Appliance Integration. I think the configuration is correct because i can do database synchronization between Profiler and CAM. Here is the Profiler server log:
       NAC_SYNC: Task_Queue_Runner starting up
       NAC_SYNC: Profiler / NAC Synchronization END [add 0, upd 0, desc 0, rm 0]
       NAC_SYNC: Profiler / NAC Synchronization START
       INFO: [2010-12-15 11:01:09 (fcapGetHWAddr:49)]  Getting MAC for eth0
    I already created end point profile named "Admin" which is based on IP address. I also created NAC events based on the end point profile "Admin".
    The NAC event is profiling "Admin" to a NAC role. The purpose for this event is to bypass "Admin" from NAC authentication so that the "Admin" can connect to network automatically to one NAC role.
    However when "Admin" connect to network, it is still challanged by NAC. I dont see the "Admin" on the CAM filter list either.
    This means that the end point profiling is still failed.
    Is there anyone who have any experiences with this?
    Thank you for the supports and comments
    Imad

    Hi,
    Ok, so the Profiler will only add devices to the CAM filter list, if a device fals into a profile for which a nac event is configured.
    If there is no device on the profile -> No NAC event -> No device added to the CAM.
    Is there any device that was assigned to that profile?
    Regarding the Active Rule column, it is used to quickly  ascertain which Endpoint Profiles on a system (if any) contain an Active  Rule that will result in the Profiler system doing active collection if  one or more NetInquiry Collector component modules are enabled. Active  profiling rules and active profiling is described in detail in the "Configuration of Active Directory Data Rules" section: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/nac/profiler/configuration_guide/311/p_endpt_part231.html#wpxref59325.

  • Dng. files from LR to PS CC ok Can't open in Camera Raw?

    I have LR 5.7 and can edit my dng. files in PS CC but I can only get Camera Filter not full camera raw w/ all the tools. I am a PC user, BTW.
    How do I open full Camera raw for a dng. file?
    Thanks, very frustrated.
    Chris

    Because it was edited in lightroom first, photoshop knows enough to bypass camera raw since the controls are identical. If you open the dng file using the normal way like any other format, then it would open in camera raw first.
    Keep in mind if you already did any editing in lightroom, those edits needs to be saved to that dng file before you can do the above otherwise camera raw and photoshop will not see the edits you did.
    To save a file in lightroom select the file in the library and use ctrl-s to save.
    If you do the above, lightroom will not automatically see the changes done in camera raw or photoshop. In library view there will be an icon in the thumbnails corner. This appears when changes to the metadata do not match that of lightroom's database. Clicking the icon should provide a dialog box asking if you want to update lightroom or leave it unchanged.
    If you do a folder full, you can sync that folder to update all of them. Keep in mind syncing overwrites your changes in lightroom so make sure that is what you want to do.
    I personally try to make it a habit to save all the images from lightroom, just so I don't get any surprises when syncing. There is an icon in the corner of those that need saving.

  • IPad Air running 8.2 - one of the two cameras shows very weird colors.

    This started a couple weeks ago. The outward camera view shows very weird colors. I have looked on line for a solution and found a reference that said the 'live camera filter is stilled turned on' but I don't think live filters exist any more. ive tried everything I can think of. Attached is a screen shot when using the camera.
    TIA

    Try the standard troubleshooting steps in this order:

  • Smooth Cam - Mulitple filters???

    I needed to apply the smooth cam filter to 4 angles that I shot of a Karoke Contest.  All clips were about an hour.  Unfortunatly, I found out about the smooht cam feature after I had already edited all the angles to give me one fluid picture.  You know, camera 1, camera 4, camera 1, camera 3, and so on...  So clicked select all and applied the smooth cam filter.  The first clip took about 7 hours to render.  I was OK with that.  But the time kept getting longer and longer, until my 3rd clip was going to take 17 hours.  I couldn't select remove atributes "filters" because I had used some color correction filters and flop filters, but a strange thing happened.  I had 6 smooth cam filters on each clip.  I found this out by clicking on the clip and bringing it up in the browser.  Is that normal?  Or did it happen because I would choose smooth cam filter, then quit after the first clip was done, then selected smooth cam filter again.  So that's my first question.  My next would be: should I do this?  Finish the edit, adjust the audio, then export as a sef contained quicktime movie.  Then reimport that clip and apply the smooth cam to that?  I would assume since it is now one clip that it would only have to render once, not 4 times, but I could be wrong.  And will the smooth cam filter work on the quicktime clip, even though is is switching angles of the shoot?

    You could try this.  Edit each entire clip individually into it's own sequence (with sequence settings that match the clip settings) and the sequence name matching the clip name, EXACTLY.  Apply the smoothcam filter to each clip in each sequence and adjust parameters to your satisfaction.  Then export each sequence to a new folder on your hard drive.  When it's done, duplicate your project (for safety's sake) and reconnect the original clips to these new clips.  Remove the unnecessary smoothcam filters in your sequence.  Should work fine.

  • Smooth Cam not exporting properly in FCP 7.03 - please help

    Hello
    I have a 30 minute video edit. A small number of clips have the smooth cam filter applied with default settings. When I export the finished project to a number of varied settings - pro res, pro res LT, apple tv, iphone etc... All the smooth cam clips are jittery and juddering -  and are not working for some reason.
    I have done a bit of research and apparently it's a bug in FCP 7.03 with interlaced footage (progressive works fine, apparently). All the source footage was transcoded to pro res.
    Someone said that putting the clips in motion and smoothing them out in optical flow would work and people had results. However I have no clue how to do this..
    Can someone please help me - I need to render a finished project today..
    Thanks in advance
    Nick

    Apparently it's a bug with Smoothcam's handling of interlaced footage in FCP 7.0.3 ... there's a post over on the Creative COW website detailing using Motion instead as Finnur mentions above.  Here's my own quick summary of that for those that aren't used to it :
    In FCP select the clip instance and choose FIle > Send To > Motion Project (or right click and choose Send To > Motion Project) and save the Exported clip to your scratch disk
    The exported clip will open in Motion. Click the clip to select it and then from the toolbar at the top of the main window choose ➀ Add Behavior > Motion Tracking > Stabilize
    Next choose ➁ HUD (heads up display), and in that window ➂ set Method : Smooth, Borders : Zoom, and select Adjust : Position & Scale, and click the Movement : Analyze button
    When the Analysis is complete, choose Motion menu > Quit, and press "Save" when prompted.
    When you return to FCP the smoothed Motion project (.motn) should be sitting in the sequence in place of the original clip ... it'll probably need rendering .
    Personally, I'd be inclined to just try adding the Shift Fields filter (Effects > Video Filters > Video > Shift Fields) to the jittery Smoothcam shot in FCP first, and see if that works, before jumping through the Motion hoops.
    Hope it helps
    Andy
