Day 5 of uploading

And still have over 2000 songs to go. I had a ton of unmatched songs, but is it really acceptable that it should take over a week (or more!) to upload everything I have? I have good bandwidth here, so that's not the problem. It's really not ok.

If you have a lot of unmatched songs, then, yes, depending on your internet upload speed it may take a while. I have about 4500 unmatched songs (mostly from live concerts) that are in Apple Lossless. So not only do I have to upload all of those but iTunes has to first transcode them to 256Kbps AAC. We'll just have to be paitient, this stuff doesn't work instantly.

  • 30 day unlimited upload period

Why did my 30 day unlimited upload period only last 5 days? I received an email saying "your 30 day period flew by quickly!"  Then asking me to subscribe. Is the 30 day period just a lie to get new users to sign up? Also, having uploaded 3,000 images, all but 6 have disappeared since receiving this email. Is the whole thing a scam?

I am sorry you are having difficulties.
You actually have over 8200 files in Revel in an account with the same email as this forum. You are still in your 30 day trial which expires 11/7. You will get your entire 30 days and all files will remain after the account reverts to a free account.
What images do you have that are disappearing? Can you only see 6? What Platform are you using? If adoberevel.com, are you using a current version of your browser? If you are using an app, has the app completed syncing?
Did you ever login to revel from a different email? You may have another account that has expired. Can you forward the email to you and I will take a look? I'll send you an email so you know where to send it.

  • Calender feature in Journals picks up the day photo uploaded to ipad, not when it was taken.

So, I was playing around with iPhoto on my iPad, I made a photo journal,  and I put a calender beside a photo, but suprisinly, the calender showed the date the photo was UPLOADED onto my ipad, not when it was taken, which was around october in 2011.
So, did this happen to you? if it did, please comment and say it did, knowing that it's something wrong with iPhoto, not my device.
and for an answer, I'd be happy with apple's email for iPhoto, or a link taking me to a thread that talks about the problem.
    Thanks!

oh my god I am so dumb, I checked the picture closest to the calender which was taken in august, but the calender took the other pics, which was JPEG format, that's weird, wonder when it got turned into JPEG, oh well, IGNORE THIS QUESTION, can't belive I'm so dumb....

  • Days to upload?

I have been using iweb for a while but I am cannot understand why Apple has not released a message asking everyone to hold uplinks of their iweb pages. I mean it shouldn't take 48 hours of leaving my computer on right? I even tried to upload just one page but iweb seems to be trying to upload everything. If everyone trying to upload is trying to upload everything on their site every time they update I am sure it will slow everything down. The reason i am saying that it is uploading everything is because when i choose to just upload one section, I see the program creating pages out of the other sites i am not trying to upload. Anyone have any thoughts or explanation about this?
    Theo

I'm afraid yours is not a proper podcast feed. It doesn't have the 'itunes declaration' in the second line which is necessary for iTunes to be able to read special metadata tags:
    <rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0">
and it doesn't have an 'enclosure' tag containing the URL of your media file, which is necessary for iTunes to see the epiode as containing playable media. You have a link to the mp3 file in your 'description' tag but this won't have any effect in iTunes.
I can't advise on Weebly; it may be that there is some process you need to do to get it to make an iTunes-compliant feed. It may help you to look at my get-you-started page on podcasting: it includes a basic sample feed - I'm not suggesting you should try hand-writing your feed, but it will give you an idea of what one should look like.

  • I wish to upload a PDF file to my website but Firefox 3.6.12 reports it as type application/force-download and NOT application/pdf, WHY?

My website has been running for many months, and as part of the site users can upload PDF documents to share with others. The last successful upload was 5th Nov, but to-day my upload was rejected because Firefox returned the document type as application/force-download rather than application/pdf. Uploads work fine with IE8.
The site uses PHP to check extension and document type and, as I mentioned, has worked fine for many months. I have even attempted to upload the same document that succeeded on the 5th, but again Firefox returns application/force-download as the document type.
    Why the change?

    Just found a solution.
In Tools, Options, Application Firefox listed TWO options against Adobe Acrobat Documents; the apprliaction/pdf and application/force-download. I have deleted mimeTypes.rdf and allowed Firefox to re-create the file. All works as it should now!

  • How can I make Firefox 4's "File Upload" window start in the same directory across all sites?

I upload webcomic image files to multiple sites every day--the same file to multiple sites--through the "File Upload" window that comes up in Firefox when you click on a site's "Browse..." file request field.
In Firefox 3 (under Windows XP), when I used Firefox's "File Upload" window to upload files, the "File Upload" window would come up showing the last directory from which I'd uploaded anything to ANY site.
In Firefox 4, on the other hand, the "File Upload" window comes up showing the last directory from which I last uploaded to that specific domain.
I'd like to know if there's an about:config setting--I couldn't find one when searching for "file," "upload," or "dir"--to revert to the Firefox 3 behavior. The reason is that now in Firefox 4, because I typically upload two files to four different web sites per day--one file to all four sites, then later in the day, a second file to all four sites--I have to switch from the first upload directory to the second upload directory in each of the four "File Upload" windows for the second file, whereas in Firefox 3 I only had to do that once. Here's how it used to go:
    In Firefox 3:
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at drunkduck.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smackjeeves.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at comicfury.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at drunkduck.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smackjeeves.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at comicfury.com: desired local directory is already selected.
and here's how it goes under Firefox 4:
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at drunkduck.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smackjeeves.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at comicfury.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at drunkduck.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smackjeeves.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at comicfury.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
So basically, where under Firefox 3 I only had to browse through my directories twice per day to upload two files to four sites, under Firefox 4, I have to browse through my directories eight times per day to accomplish the same thing.

You can use the Remember Password bookmarklet: <br />
https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html#remember_password <br /> ''Has worked for me when I have needed it to save a password on a web site that used autocomplete=off.'' As far as the Bug that '''cor-el''' linked, I can't remember ever running across a website that did it like that.
Or, you can use the Saved Password Editor extension, which includes a means of manually adding Username/Passwords to Firefox. <br />

  • How do I upload one picture from my PC to my iPhone to use with a contact?  Totally frustrated

I have been trying for days to upload just one picture from my PC to my iPhone.  I have tried both iCloud and iTunes.  Neither of them have screens that match instructions in the iPhone manual.  I don't want to synch anything.  Just upload one picture.

If the contacts are in iCloud, log into www.icloud.com, edit the contact and add the photo.  It will sync to the device.
If the contacts are in another cloud service, log into that service and do the same thing.
If the contacts only exists on the device.  STOP!  Sync them to iCloud, another cloud service, or a supported app on your computer immediately or risk losing them should the device fail or be lost/stolen.

  • I can no longer upload my photo files to my gallery website at Fine Art America when nobody else is having any problems.

I have tried for days to upload different photo files with no result. Makes me wonder if it's related to java not being supported in firefox 6.
*edited* I just downloaded chrome and I am finally able to upload my artwork. Firefox was always my browser of choice until this happened. Please please please fix this issue so I can go back to using it as my default browser!

You can also check your security software (firewall, anti-virus) to make sure that that isn't blocking the uploads

  • When uploading, what are "previews" and why do they take so long?

After selecting photos from iPhoto library to upload and hitting upload all the photos were accessible in a reasonable amount of time.
However, then a message stated that "previews are uploading." I can see thumbnails and enlarge all my photos in Revel ..so what is a "Preview" file? Why do they take so long to upload? Is the Preview the same as a full-size file?
Also, of the 3,000 images I chose Revel excluded 72. (not dupes...they were separately counted). How do I know which ones were not selected? And WHY?

    Richard, Thank you.
I am using a MacBook Pro, OSX 10.9.2. There are no RAW files and no xmp's. Corrupt files are possible.
I have noticed that today the "previews" finished uploading. And now the "originals" are beginning to uload. If 3,600 previews took almost 4 days to upload, i can expect 3,600 originals will take much longer. The internet speed is medium @ 1.5.
My iPhoto library has 12,000 photos and only a few videos. I don't think I will live long enough to try uploading a duplicate library via a web client at Adoberevel.com    (laughing)    I doubt that at this rate I'll be able to upload even half to Revel in the 1st 30 days.

  • Can't see newly uploaded pictures in iPhoto

Hi everybody, I'm facing a problem with iPhoto I don't know how to solve.
I recently upgrade to iPhoto 9.3.2 on an iMac running Mac OS X 10.7.4
Since a few days, after uploading the picture from my camera into iPhoto, I can't see them in the thumbnail list.
None of the different list options (last 18 months, all the pictures, etc) show the pictures.
But they are actually within the iPhoto library (I inspected it and saw the pictures); more, if I connect the camera (which still has the pictures in the memory card) and run iPhoto, the program recognizes that the pictures were already uploaded.
The camera is a (newly purchased) Fuji X10.
I tried to run the "thumbails reconstruction function", with no success.
Any hints? The (apparent) lack of the pictures is driving me crazy!
    Thanks in advance to everybody!
    Giovanni

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    Regards
    TD

  • Not Uploading...

My Mac desktop app shows "Liber's Library – Updating". For the last two days no Uploading is taking place from "Uploading originals from ..... MacBook Pro".
But my internet is on. Connection is smooth. All other work in internet is possible. My total count still stands at 11661 and no change in that. I am worried because no upload is taking place. Please help.

    Hi Charlie!
Thanks for your Direct email to me! You have indeed quite ably guided me in resolving my problem. Now Revel Desktop app is working perfect. There is no "gumming" of photos and all photos that I upload move quickly. I am thankful for making me a "subscribed" member too in order to facilitate uploading all my 20,000 photos. Great! I deeply appreciate it. God bless!

  • Any way to speed up uploads to icloud drive?

Trying to upload a 1 Gb home video, but the browser rate seems to be throttled to about 145 kbps, which will take a couple hours. Has anyone gotten a faster speed, or is this all we can expect?

This is really discouraging. I've tried 5 times over the last 4 days to upload a 1.1 Gb video by web browser logged into icloud.com. Every time, it's throttled to 145 kbps, and takes about 2 hours. Every time, it fails at the end. I've tried 2 different web browsers. After 4 days, I've uploaded nothing successfully.
I wondered if my ISP, TWC, was somehow causing this, so had them come out and check my internet. They say everything is ok and it must be a problem at apple's end. According to http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/ apple is ok.
I understand that iMovie on an iPad can be used to upload a movie to iCloud Drive. I thought I'd try it instead of the icloud web browser to upload my videos. In my case, iMovie doesn't find the home movies in the Video app on my iPad. Does anyone know a way to force it to see the videos in the Video app?
