is there an easy way to tell what date the DST change for any given TimeZone will occure?

Depends what you mean by "easy". I would create a GregorianCalendar object and run a loop that adds one day to it and then checks if 24 hours were added. If 23 or 25 hours were added instead, there you are.

I noticed a problem on Server 2012 after daylight savings time was set effective last weekend in March. All scheduled tasks that are configured to run weekly on Monday through Friday don't run anymore! Tasks that are configured to run daily are OK. Shall
I really put a wrapper script around the executable to check the weekday myself??? Another solution to work around this bug seems to be to set the start day after DST change day, then the weekly Jobs also run OK again.

We have experienced the same issues. Just to put some more information out there (and confirm some points from above):
We run 12 scheduled tasks on 2 servers.
Machines are "Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Standard", ver. 6.2.9200 build 9200, HP ProLiant BL460c Gen8
4 scheduled tasks did fine over the DST switch in March
8 scheduled tasks failed to run
All scheduled tasks that ran were set up with
“Configure For” = “Windows Server 2012”
All scheduled tasks that failed were set up with
“Configure For” = “Windows Vista™, Windows Server™
2008”.
All scheduled tasks, both affected and unaffected, were scheduled as Weekly, Mon-Fri.
Changing the "Configure For" field after the tasks failed to run did NOT fix the problem.
Changing the time of a task after the task failed to run did NOT fix the problem
Changing the "Start" date of a task after it failed to run DID fix the problem.
Given that there are not a whole ton more complaints out on the web about this bug, it must be that the bug does not affect every instance of the scheduler on Windows Server 2012. In other words, it must be only some particular configuration
of Windows Server 2012 that causes this bug, otherwise surely there would be many many more complaints. Can people who are experiencing this bug check and post configuration info so perhaps we can determine a common factor? Thanks.

Apps and music are forever tied to the Apple ID under which they were purchased. If you don't want to continue to get that message, delete the apps and purchase them again with your new Apple ID.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

Day Light Saving Changes for Europe

Hi,
We are using SQL Azure databases in North Europe location.
When trying to use GETDATE() function, it is not considering the day light saving changes and brings back the time less by an hour.
Is that something that we need to or can do on the server or database
Having issues in saved records even for auditing purposes.
Any help will be highly appreciated

All SQL Azure server in all Azure locations (America, Europe, Asia, etc) returns for GETDATE always the same value: The current UTC date time. No time zone offset, no daylight saving, always UTC only. You can simply check it with this query:
select GETDATE(), GETUTCDATE()

Why did DST change fail on iPad but work on iPhone?

I have an iPhone 4S and an iPad 4, both running 8.1. Both devices are on AT&T data plans and seem to be working just fine except for this one annoying difference. I was in Central TZ (Austin, TX) during the DST change over but am now back in EST.
My iPhone saw the change immediately and corrected itself to the proper DST time. My iPad still is an hour off and continues to ignore the DST change. Both devices have been on multiple cell networks across TX, NC and VA as well as multiple wireless networks during that time. Phone is right, iPad is not.

You know ... when one goes through the support documents and other users' suggestions ... and one still can't find a solution, you've always got APPLE SUPPORT. That's what they're there for ... :-) ...

Day light saving changes in UCCX scripting.

Hi, We are using UCCX version 8.X and we have script like press 1 to go shangai tem, press 2 to go to US team like that.
In the time of day light saving we are doing manual changes in time of day settings manually when ever the location day light savings changes.
so is there a way to the script refer the local time zone according to the region day light savings.
or the reqired OS patched time zone patches will solve the problem please suggests.

Hi,
UCCX uses its own time in the server to lookup the time. you need to configure the proper timezone for your UCCX. if shangai and US change start using daylight saving at the same date, you don't need to change your script. if not, unfortunately you need to change the time in the script itself.

Need help to manage DST change in ICM

We have call centers in all regions and central controller is located in Europe with CET timezone .Do we have any option to manage DST change without modifying Routing script every time/
If we create admin script to store time with DST change to memory variable and check that variable's value in routing script , does it work?
Please share if anyone have better idea to fix this .

We are looking for a better solution to this as well. Our routers are in California and we have call centers in Europe. The DST issue is compounded by the fact that the two continents observe DST changover on different dates.
Right now we create admin scripts with four different time checks:
1) When both are on Standard Time
2) When the US has changed to DST but Europe has not
3) When both are on DST
4) When the US has moved back to Standard Time and Europe has not.
These scripts are monstrosities and require a lot of maintenance because DST dates change every year. It also creates more possible points of failure (or human error). We would like to have "TimeZone" switch that establishes a time zone for the admin script. I saw somewhere that UCCX has this. Why not UCCE?

In our enviornemt we used CTSS(cluster time synchronization service) in 2 node RAC,NTP services is stopped on Linux nodes.
DST will going to happens on 27-Mar-2015, so is CTSS will take care of DST changes automatically,if not what needs do to care of it.

Far as I know the awnser is NO.
The role of CTSS is keep same date/time in all nodes no matter if date/time is right or wrong, (it not fix date or set DST or something else), during clusterware startup if all nodes has same date/time CTSS choose randomly a node as master and keep other nodes updated using master node as reference. So, if the date/time of master node is wrong all nodes will get a wrong time.
Is highly recommend to use NTP Service instead use of CTSS. When using NTP the CTSS run in observer mode.
Change Date/time or set DST is role of OS (Linux), not Oracle Clusterware. You must check on OS how it was configured.
