Day old iPod, 13019 Error......ughh.....lame?

So I realized I was the only person on the planet without something with a lowercase i at the beginning of the name so I went out and bought a 5th generation iPod Nano. I installed iTunes and then plugged it into my pc, I followed the onscreen instructions and registered it and it started to sync my music. I left it for eight hours to charge cause I went to bed. When I got up I went to check it and decided I wanted different music on it, so I rearranged the crap it would put on it, hit APPLY and it popped up with a little box saying "13019 unknown error can't sync your ipod". Any help would be nice....Oh I tried the restore and it worked but after my morning jog I wanted new music and once again when I tried to sync it was all "Der der der error". So do I have to restore every time I want to change my iPod's contents? Cause that is lame.....very lame in a iJustKickedYourDog way.....
And sorry for the illegible post, I'm not the best at writing.

  • My bran new 4 day old IPod Touch 32GB just slipped onto my table and the glass on front has cracked bad - how do I get this fixed?

    Hello
My New 4 day old IPod Touch 32 GB just slipped onto my kitchen table and the glass cracked - is it still under any warranty and how much will it cost to repair?

Accidental damage is not covered under the limited manufacturer's warranty, which is a year from the purchase date.

  • 2 day old iPod Classic - iQuiz crashed - also whistle sound.

Only had my iPod Classic 160 for two days. Got it yesterday.
Today, I launched iQuiz for the first time. It asked me one question. Then on the second question it froze, and locked up the whole iPod.
Does this happen to other people? Should I be worried about this behaviour? Just not sure if iPods do crash now and then, or if they normally never crash (or very rarely). Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I've noticed that when moving around between menus, or in cover flow, right after some art loads, the hard drive makes a quick whistley sound. Not sure if this is normal either. Thanks.

I have an iPod Classic 160GB as well. Mine rarely and I can't even remember if at all it has ever crashed. Did you try and run iQuiz again? Did it work properly? If YES then I wouldn't worry about it.
The HD noise that you mention is rather normal. It is a mechanical drive and therefore some sound and a little vibration is expected. The Key is the loudness of the sound. If it is loud and whirling then the HD could be defective.
You know, it is only 2 days old. It is still under warranty. Watch its performance closely for a week or two and then you should be able to either get comfortable with it or not. If NOT then get it exchanged.

  • 3 day old ipod 5th gen won't work! Scan and Fix spam message...

I have owned an ipod for about 6 years, upgrading to a new version whenever I could afford it, and for Christmas my father bought me the new 5th gen nano. The last one I had was a 2nd gen nano... I have always kept my itunes up to date and so on and so forth and I have used my new 5th gen for about three days when suddenly I plug it in today and; I start getting a spam of error messages saying that there is something wrong with the ipod and that I need to Scan and Fix it. When I click Scan and Fix it closes out and says that it can not read the disk. iTunes tells me that there s something wrong with my ipod and immediately ejects it before I can even restore it.
In addition, winamp also will not recognize the new ipod but it sees my old one...
I tried using the command prompt thing but I have no idea what driver my ipod is plugged into so I keep getting errors...
I have no idea what to do about this and I am not finding any answers, I'm getting pretty upset ):

  • New mac, Old IPod, uknown error (-54)

    Hey guys,
I bought a macbook the other day and i've seemed to successfully transfer all my music files from my old PC to the mac and now I'm trying to sync my IPod to itunes but after about 930 songs transfer an "unknown error (-54) occurs" and the transferring stops.
I tried restoring the IPod but it didn't work. The same problem occurs.
    Any suggestions?

Just wanted to say that I solved my error -54 problem -- thanks to the user who suggested it was corrupted files.
I decided to sync my library in chunks, alphabetically, and then I looked a little bit more closely at the files surrounding the spot where the error message came up and transfer stopped. I found a "locked" file ("Get info" > the check box for "lock" was selected). After unchecking the box, the files transferred with no problem (I had two locked files within my 4100).
Hope that's helpful to anyone else with an error -54 message!

  • Two day old iPod 30 gb CLICKWHEEL NOT WORKING! PLEASE HELP!!!

    Hi,
I recieved my ipod video 30gb two days back. Today I was listening to it via externally powered speakers when I needed to go out. I pulled the speakers off and plugged in my earphones and it kept playing. When I decided to change the song, it would not respond at all.
I went ahead with the 5 Rs. But now after restore it is stuck on the language selection screen! I can't scroll or select.
Funny thing is that although I can use the menu and select buttons to restart it, they refuse to work otherwise! Clickwheel is simply not working
I decided to connect my camera adapter to it. It recognised the camera and gave me the option to import or to cancel. Hmmmm... Sorry no buttons would work!!!
When I connect it to the laptop, it is recognised as a drive and I can transfer stuff to and from the disk. I can even transfer through itunes.
Could someone PLEASE help me with this as its out of business hours now and i'm really anxious about this!
    Thanks
    Anul

Just spoke to Apple customer service. The guy told me to let the battery run down completely and then charge it again to see if it fixes the thing. The odd thing was that he told me it would take about 8-9 hours for the iPod to do this. Wouldn't you think that its really short time for the battery to run out in sleep when its supposed to give 10+hours with music playing!
The guy was really helpful though and said it could be replaced from an apple store if nothing works out. We have a reseller here in Liverpool, would anyone know if they would be able to replace it for me?
    Thanks for all the input!

  • 6-day old iPod.  Dead

So I've had my 30gb video iPod since Sunday and everything's been hunky-dory. Except today when it froze on one song and then went blank. Now I can't turn it off or on and my computer doesn't recognize it. I've made sure the hold is off and tried resetting it about 35 times, but nothing.
Any suggestions? Or do I need to take it back to the store?

Take it back to the store, and insist they deal with it, Apple's warranty service is awful if you have to deal with thesupport service yourself. Well it is here in the UK anyway. You are best to take it in yourself and make a fuss. My partner has an awful time getting Apple to do anything.

  • One day old iPOD 30g Video randomly turns off

Title says it all...tried all of the Rs, even restored it. Plays fine for a little while, then BAM....turns off, just after a small pop is heard subtly in the headphones (I assume it is the amp shutting off.) Then you can hear the hard drive powering down. Sometimes I restart it and it works fine for a little while, other times it turns off just as I go to navigate the menus. Anyone else have this problem?

Yeah...got everything....tried the Best Buy route and apparently Apples restrictions for returns are quite rigorous and without a receipt, I am screwed.
I won it from Georgia Pacific at a Builder's conference. I am going to try and contact them from the number that is one the shipping label, but I do not have high hopes for that. After that, if apple requires some kind of receipt, I am completely screwed. According to Best Buy, without a receipt, Apple charges $250 to service the thing...might as well buy another at that rate, and at that point....eh no..I stick with my Hi-MD

  • HT4623 Ipod 2 days old and not working

    I have a 2 day old ipod touch 5th generation 16GB.
It worked for 2 days and now won't work.
    Any tips?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I was using my old iPhone 4 as an iPod for 4  months when one day I got this error message saying "phone is deactivated visit your local to reactive" ... what the heck??? now the freakin thing won't even charge!!!

I was using my old iPhone 4 as an iPod for 4  months when one day I got this error message saying "phone is deactivated visit your local to reactive" ... what the heck??? now the freakin thing won't even charge!!!

Nope. I've already turned off cellular data. It happens regardless, as soon as it is done powering on.
I suspect it might just be built into the phone's firmware to do that... and I have to hit "ignore" whenever it happens, but I just wanted confirmation of that...

  • What is the connection timed out error? I have an iPod touch 4G which is just 2-3 days old.

It is just 2 days old, s not many songs or photos in it!

If you get that error when downloading/installing the update, disabling the computer's security software usually eliminates that error.

  • Library Lost - Please HeIp I tried updating my old ipod & now all 10,000 songs in my library have an ! next to them and I get the error message "song " " could not be used because the original file could not be found" on every song I try to play

Please help - this morning I tried updating one of my old ipods for my wife (this ipod hasn't been updated in 2-3 years).  I plugged it into my pc, it was recognized and the software updated.  I created a new playlist and tied to sync the ipod.  This ipod had never been used on this pc/itunes since the pc is only 2 years old.  When I tried to sync the ipod it stated that it would have to erase all the old songs on the ipod prior to syncing.  I clicked ok and it proceeded to wipe out the old ipod and sync the new playlist (~1000 songs).  When the sync was complete there were only 6 songs from the new playlist (all purchased this morning from itunes) on the ipod and to my horror all ~10,000 song on my pc in itunes now have a ! next to them.  Only my recent purchases from itunes do not.  When I click on a song with the ! I get the error message "the song " " could not be used because the original file could not be found."  How do I correct this issue - I am scared to hook my ipads or other ipods to my pc for fear of losing everything?!?!?  I spent 100s of hours burning the 10,000 songs from my cd collection and do not want to have to do it again.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

This "original file cannot be found" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
