Daylight saving and Outlook

I have an E51 and live in Darwin, Northern Territory.
There is no timezone for Darwin provided by Nokia, just Adelaide, also on Central Standard Time.
Now Adelaide has moved to dalight saving; Northern Territory time does not change.
I can correct the time manually on my phone but all my appointments from Outlook are on Adelaide time on my phone, Darwin time in Outlook on my PC.
Any ideas?

I am in Darwin also but I am on a network so my computer time has to remain as is. Nokia can handle daylight saving for Adelaiude but has not yet developed the software to enable the networks to recignose that the NT does not have daylight saving.
Keep complaining, folks - that makes it more likely that something will be done about the issue.
I sent the following to the local paper - which may or may not publish it:
"I wonder how many other people in the NT share my current frustration?
If I synchronise my computer calendar with my mobile phone now that SA is on daylight saving, all my appointments are I hour out as they are on Adelaide time.
After frustrating email correspondence with Nokia and phone conversations with multiple people at Telstra (who provided my Nokia phone) I am being told that it is a network problem.
My computer recognises my time zone as GMT+0930 (Darwin) but my mobile phone only offers time zones for Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne Perth and Sydney (and can adjust to their daylight saving regime). However I am told that software is not yet developed to enable those of us who do not share the SA daylight saving period to remain on true local time.
Curiously enough earlier models of mobile phones apparently did not have this difficulty, nor do all current models. If you do not try to synchronise all will be well as long as you adjust the actual time read out on your phone. Synchronising is, however, impossible!
If anyone has a solution or can persuade Nokia and other mobile phone manufacturers to ensure that all their models can be on correct local time anywhere in Australia you will be doing a significant service!"

  • Daylight Saving and RTP Billing

    Hi, We are using RTP Billing and the client has requirement to shift 1hr for TOU calculation (during Daylight Saving on). For example, Peak (TOU) is 7am to 5pm would shift to 6am to 4pm during Daylight saving on. Please let me know if we can achieve this without yearly involvement on Config change.
    Regards, Kesava

    Hi Kesava,
    Day Light Saving in RTP Billing is taken care of by the Time Zone mentioned in the Profile Header and in the Installation. But in your case cause of the TOU mentioned it won't have any effect. It's unfortunately not dynamic. Would be a config change.
    Do post on if you resolve this without config changes. .

  • Daylight saving and alarm

    Daylight savings time stared today and the alarm on my Z3v was correctly set to 0730. The alarm didn't go off though until 0830. I did set the alarm with google now, but around 8 o'clock i also checked the Alarm and Clock app and verified the correct alarm time was set and turned on. Then the alarm went off at 0830. It was a one time alarm and no other alarms were set.
    Any one else have any issues?

    If it was set to Google time and they didn't adjust the time on their end then this may account for the issue you had - I can however confirm that setting an alarm via the system Alarm app works

    I have a problem with my OLEDB UDS connection to PI
    I am using Xmii OLEDB UDS version 4.0.2.5 to connect to pi

    After moving into daylight savings period on october 28th @ 2:00am our data is out by an hour.

    This only occurs when dat is queried through Xmii (via the UDS)
    Runningthe same query using the pi-snapin for mmc OR using the PI test tools gives me the correct data (all @ 6:30)
    It looks like the UDS does not adjust corrrectly for daylight savings
    I have updated java using  the timzone updater and tried almost everything I can think of to fix this.
    by a process of elimination we have come to the conclusion that the UDS is the problem
    Can you tell me :
    1) is there a newer version of the OLEDB UDS available ??? (I tried to download this from the marketplace but it was not there)
    2) what else can i try to fix this issue ???
    Moving the timexone of the computer to GMT +9 to allow for daylight makes data correct after october 28th but wrong before October 28th
    any help and/or idea would be greatly appreciated

    Hi Andy
    I knew about the java issue, but going back down that path led to the solution !!!
    The java timezone updater tool needs to be applied
    http://java.sun.com./javase/tzupdater_README.html
    What I didnt realise what that this needs to be applied to ALL JRE instances on the box.
    The default (and only) option for the tool is to run against a single instance.
    You have to copy the tzupdater file to each instance and re-run it
    My JRE was updated but my SDK wasnt
    This worked for me, hope it works for you too
    "magically" daylight savings is now correctly handled - it has only taken me about 2 weeks to work this out but hey , got there in the end
    Thanks everyone for your help.

  • TS1638 When syncing calendar on iPhone with Microsoft Office whole day appointments get moved to double day. I am aware this may be caused by conflicts in clock, viz daylight saving time. However, Outlook seems OK and takes time from Windows time and zone

    When syncing my iPhone to Microsoft Outloook all the full day appointments become two day - 2300hrs to 2300hrs next day. Sometimes this will include a nuber of a single day of 23 hours. Looked at solutions and all point to a clock issue or a daylight saving and winter times. Outlook operating time is directly from the Windows clock that incudes the change of times for daylight saving etc. It is set for UTC Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisban, London with daylight saving included in the options. I can't see what I can do.

    Hello , I have created an add in for outlook, we setup meeting rooms, we
    opened mailbox for each meeting room. Users are using Outlook 2010. We can now see all meeting rooms in our calender. And we are able to set up meetings with corresponding meeting rooms. The only issue I need to fix is that : When someone organize a meeting

    This is a part of the code where getting the timeZone , plz help me to know what to change for coutries that don't have daylight saving.

  • Time change for daylight savings and Alarms not working correctly

    we have 3 iPhones in our house. 2 were set to auto time change for daylight saving and one wasn't. 1 did the auto time change with out an issue and all alarms worked ok. The other 2 have had issues with not been able to set the alarms ie set alarm for 0630 and it goes off at 0530 even though the time is set correctly. The 1 that was set to autotime worked fine until I switch auto time off, now the alarms on this one wont work either. well they work but just at the wrong time. The 3rd phone will allow alarms to be set, but the alarm will go off an hour earlier and this phone will not allow the alarm to be set for 0630 at all.
    Has anyone had this issue and resolved it. It makes getting up for shift work a right pain..

  • DBConnect Daylight saving conversion

    Hello Experts,
    I am trying to extract data from Oracle Database tables and their Date format is Daylight saving and using their Oracle side function to convert it to "mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss" is taking a lot of time while extraction.
    So, i am tying to replicate the following code in SAP:
    FUNCTION DATE_TIME_CONV (dRemedyDateIn IN NUMBER)
    RETURN DATE
    IS
    dDateOut DATE;
      BEGIN
    IF dRemedyDateIn is NULL THEN
       RETURN NULL;
    END IF;
          dDateOut := TO_DATE('12/31/1969 16:00:00','MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS') + ( dRemedyDateIn/ ( 60 * 60 * 24 ));
          IF ( dDateOut < DAY_LIGHT_SAVING_STARTS(dDateOut) )
                OR ( DAY_LIGHT_SAVING_ENDS(dDateOut) <= dDateOut ) THEN
                dDateOut := TO_DATE('01/01/1970','MM/DD/YYYY') +  ((( dRemedyDateIn / 60 / 60 )- 8) / 24 );
          ELSE
                dDateOut := TO_DATE('01/01/1970','MM/DD/YYYY') +  ((( dRemedyDateIn / 60 / 60 )- 7) / 24 );
          END IF;
          RETURN dDateOut;
    END DATE_TIME_CONV;
    Did somebody have come across this scenario?
    Thanks

  • IPhone + Outlook, recurring meetings not adjusted for Daylight Saving (Arizona)

    Anybody else out there living in Phoenix and syncing with Outlook?
    I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1 and I sync my calendar with Outlook 2007 running on Windows XP.  Recurring meetings that were sent from another timezone are not showing the correct time following the Daylight Saving Time (DST) change on Nov. 6.
    For example, I have a recurring meeting for Tuesdays that was originally sent to me July 26, 2011 (during DST, that is) by my customer in California.  In Outlook the time is shown as 8:00 AM Pacific Time.  During DST this meeting was shown correctly in Calendar as 8:00AM.  Today it still shows as 8:00 but should show as 9:00 (8:00 PST = 9:00 MST).
    Phone Settings:  My iPhone's time zone was originally set this morning to "Set Automatically ON" and it had selected Denver although I'm in Phoenix.  I understand that Denver and Phoenix now share the same time.  I turned "Set Automatically" off and selected "Phoenix, U.S.A." then resynced, but the appoinment above still shows 8:00.
    So how do I fix this?  I really don't want my customer to have to resend the invite just to fix an iOS bug.

    Not sure if people are still looking at this post, but we did finally find a fix for the issue.
    In the end we figured out that one of our exchange mail box users had something faulty in their profile. By "faulty", our exchange admins attempted to move the user's mail profile from one mail store to another, but exchange returned errors when attempting to do so.
    In order to "fix" the issue we ended up deleting the mail profile completely from exchange and then recreating it from scratch - scary prospect when having to do this with someone high up the food chain... (prior export and reimport essential otherwise all data is lost)
    (the user dealt with many meetings for multiple staff, and was a common factor between all users getting the issue)
    I wouldn't call this specifically a MS issue as prior to ipad/iphones, these issues did not occur, and even while it was occuring, turning off mail on ipad/iphones meant the issue did not occur and other email clients had no issues at all
    - so it looks like something in the iphone is not quite robust enough to be able to handle a few errors
    (alternative theory: perhaps it is the iphone that created the issue in the first place??? We don't know when the issue with the actual mail account started and not enough resources to trowel through log files looking for a needle in a haystack)
    Anyway, not sure if this will help everyone with the same issue, but thought I'd share our experience

  • ActiveSync Calendar and Daylight Saving

    Israel moved to Daylight Saving time and now all meetings scheduled by someone on that timezone are one hour off.
    - Meetings look okay on Outlook or OWA
    - the iPhone clocks are adjusted to the time change.
    In addition to my other post on meetings not synchronized (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1715532&tstart=0) , my calendar is completely useless...
    Any fix for that?
    Should I switch back to Windows Mobile to get my productivity back up?

    I'm having the same exact problem. I've tried disabling Calendar Sync, I've tried deleting the entire ActiveSync account profile and it's still not working. All of my meeting continue to arrive on my iPhone an hour later then the meeting actually takes place. Looking at Calendar within Outlook, everything appears fine. Definitely had this problem since DayLight Savings went into place.

  • Calendar sync and daylight saving

    I have a 6720 classic which i sync with MS Outlook 2007 via OVI suite (latest versions of all software on PC and phone). New zealand has just put it's clocks back one hour for daylight saving. Since this has occured, my existing appointments on my phone now all start one hour too early. I believe that i have the correct sync settings.

    I am also having this problem and have tried multiple "fixes" nothing has worked so far. Has anyone found a fix?

  • Problem with SLQ Date and Daylight Saving Time

    Hi everybody!
    It seems, that when I have a date in the database, which falls on start of the daylight saving period, it is converted to the previous date.
    Example: '2001-10-13' will become '2001-10-12' after doing a date = rs.getDate() and then converting back using date.toString().
    This caused a lot of trouble because the date value is part of an unique key constraint!
    Currently I wrote a wrapper method, which obtains the date as string and converts this one into a date by setting the hours to 12:00.
    Does anybody know a straighter way to avoid the conversion?

    Because the default time zone is using day light saving time. To remove this feature, reset your default time zone at the very beginning of your program:
    TimeZone.setDefault( new SimpleTimeZone( TimeZone.getDefault().getRawOffset(), TimeZone.getDefault().getID() );

  • Java 1.4 and Daylight Saving Time 2007

    The current version of Java 1.4.2 for Tiger, 'Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_09-244)' does not handle the new 2007 Daylight Saving Time rules correctly. Will Apple be updating Java 1.4.2 to the version that does support 2007 DST correctly? (at least 1.4.2_11 is required per Sun, http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Intl/USDST/).
    If so, when? Thanks!

    Since you didn't list your computer, here's a link to Java 5.0 release 4 for both PPC and Intel-based Macs, which came out in April: http://search.info.apple.com/?q=J2SE50Release4.dmg&type=kbdload&search=Search&lr =lang_en&search=Go. That should solve your problem.

  • Clock UI control and daylight saving time.

    Hi,
    We have a customer that has several sites around the world.
    In a VC-model I like to use the Clock UI control to display the times of the different sites.
    This can be done by setting the ‘time zone’ in the control properties.
    A long ago we have introduced ‘daylight saving time’.
    It seems that the clock control does not do anything with this ?
    How can I change the time zone when the model is running ?
    Can it be done by an expression and how ?
    There is also a problem of the country, some have DST, others don’t.
    See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time_around_the_world
    Example:
    I have 2 clocks and the end-user lives in Amsterdam:
    Amsterdam, time zone = GMT + 1
    Santiago, time zone = GMT – 4
    During the winter in Amsterdam it is summer in Santiago and has ‘daylight saving’ so the time in Santiago should be GMT – 3 in stead of GMT -4.

    With the current version of VC / flash, it is not possible to display the correct time all the year 'round.
    If you only want to show the (user) current time then you can use this VC clock object.
    If you need to show clocks from different cities around the world, than its better NOT to use the VC clock.
    Because you can not define the country and city in the clock properties, that determine the use of DST, it will not always show the correct (default / DST) time.
    Solution:
    Add a HTLM-view to your model with a links to a web clock.
    Nice (free !) clocks can be found (and customized) on <a href="http://www.worldtimeserver.com/clocks/wtsclock001.aspx">worldtimeserver.com</a> or <a href="http://www.timeanddate.com/clocks/free.html">timeanddate.com</a> .
    Example:
    For the city Santiago (Chile) the URL =
    http://free.timeanddate.com/clock/ielrw91/n232/tluk/fn13/fs16/fc009/tt0/tw1/td2/th1/ts1/tb4
