Daylight Savings Time - Calendar Problems

When I checked my calendar this evening (i.e. since daylight savings came into effect) I noticed that some (not all) of my scheduled events have been pushed back by an hour. I looked at my Outlook calendar and everything is in the right time slot. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Does anyone have a fix?

I had similar problems with the calendar on the iphone until I set BOTH timezone sections properly. That is, there is a time zone entry for Date & Time, and one for Calendar, and both should be set, regardless of whether you have "Automatic" and/or "Time Zone Support" turned on or off.
So, under Settings>General>Date&Time, turn "Set Automatically" off and then pick your correct time zone. I also turned on "Set Automatically" after setting the proper time zone there.
Then, go to Time Zone Support and turn that off, then pick your correct time zone. I leave the support off because I always enter my calendar times for local time in the time zone I'll actually be in (e.g., a 10:00 meeting in London is set for 10:00 in my calendar even though I live near philadelphia, because it want it to be set for 10:00 when I'm there in London).
Ever since setting both time zone sections, I've not had any problems. It turned out that the date&time setting was set for cupertino, though I never noticed it because set automatically was turned on. So even though I'd set my calendar time zone properly, odd things happened because somehow the cupertino time zone was effective for certain things.
Anyway, just a few thoughts.

  • N8 Daylight savings time huge problem

I live in Jordan and daylgiht savings is activated on April 1st (the phone time is set to jordan) but today/yesterday (march 25th) it activated daylight savings increasing one hour on the time, the problem is that everytime I adjst the time (decrease 1 hour) it automatically increases another hour making it impossible to fix the time (auto time updates are off).
*noite: i can change the minutes but not the hours
so bascially does anyone else have this problem?? and do you have idea how to fix it
If you found this post or any other psot helpful please press the green kudus star

We will get somebody to look at this incorrect date for the time change, many countries that use daylight savings time do so from the final Sunday of March, which would appear to explain your premature switch in Jordan where you are using a different date for the switch.
With regard to the way the time zone is shown, Symbian phones always show your local time in relation to GMT/UTC, which doesn't include any daylight savings calculation, so for example here in Finland, my N8 shows GMT+3, but once we switch back to normal time in September that will revert to GMT+2.

  • 2013 iOS 7 Daylight Savings Time Calendar App Glitch

( iPhone 5, iOS 7, in New England USA )
When I enter an event for November 3rd that spans into November 4th, the start and end times are reversed.
    Example:
    I enter 11-3-13 1700 to 11-4-13 0300 (10 hour shift)
Viewing the day in the iOS Calendar app, it displays as 0300-1700 on 11-3-13.
The data is correct when I edit and view the dates and times... it just displays incorrectly.
In other calendar apps that use the iOS 7 calendar, however, it displays correctly. It also displays correctly in OS X iCal and iCloud calendar.
Not major... just not sure if this is a sign of deeper issues (DST begins on 11-3-13).

I have the same problem.  Seems that my shitft that spans from Sunday March 9 7:00pm to Monday March 10 3:00am, it appears reversed (starts at 3am to 7pm same day).  However if I splite the times to be self contained in the same calendard day, it's no longer shows incorrectly (all other shifts are ok..)

  • Daylight Savings Time: Calendar and Outlook 2007 ...

Anyone else (particularly in Australia) having issues with their phone calendar being an hour out to their Outlook since DST came in on 5 October??
    I have an N73 and Outlook 2007.

Here's the response I received from Nokia (haven't tried it yet but I do know GMT +11 is Vladivostok):
Hope you are in good health.
Kindly refer to the steps below to help resolve your issue:
    1) Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Date & Time > Network Operator Time > Auto Update > Off
    2) Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Date & Time > Time Zone > GMT +11
    3) Manually change the time on your phone
    4) Check each calendar appointments are showing the correct time. If they are not, please change the entries to the correct time.
    5) Back up your phone using "Content Copier" on Nokia PC Suite
    6) Perform a software update using Nokia Software Updater. Kindly visit the following link to obtain the necessary information on how to do a software update for your phone:
    http://www.nokia-asia.com/A4707376
    7) Synchronize the appointments from your PC to the phone. It is also best to check the "Conflict Resolution" settings in the Synchronize feature of Nokia PC Suite. This can be done by going to:
Nokia PC Suite > Synchronize > Settings > (select the arrow icon pointing to the right until you reach the "Finish" screen) > (select the wrench icon to proceed to the "Advanced Settings") > Conflict Resolution (choose which the priority location of information is)
The "Conflict Resolution" setting determines which information will be of priority, whereby the information on this location will override the information on the other location.
    8) Check the time of the appointments on your phone if they are showing the correct time
I apologize for the inconvenience caused and hope the above helps to clarify your query.
Thank you for emailing Nokia Careline.

  • Has anyone had problems in v5.0a of Iplanet calendar installed on a Sun box with creating events and daylight savings time?

Events created around 4/6/2002 at 8pm get created with the wrong time (9pm) and there are several other creation and display problems tied to Daylight Savings in April and October. Version 5.1 of the software seems to fix that but we are looking for a fix until we can upgrade. We have been using Windows systems to access the calendar.
    Thanks.

We have not seen exactly this, but many users appointments are lining up in the wrong time slots. Also, when scheduling, the time display is off by an hour. We have found what looks like a temporary fix.
We noticed that the problem only affects users who have the start of the week set to Sunday (when daylight savings time started). Setting the week to start on Monday fixed our display problems (you can do it in the users, options section).
    I am placing a support call w/SUN.

  • ICal and iCloud Calendar Appointments Problems Following Daylight Savings Time Change

This morning following the daylight savings time change, I noticed that some but not all of my appointments had shifted forward an hour. Strangely enough, some are correct on the iCloud calendar but are still not correct in iCal. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Here's another anomaly: the info panel is showing the correct time while the calendar view is not! I have turned off time zone support in both iCal and the iCloud calendar. It's so frustrating when you rely on these tools--especially for appointments--and you find that you can't trust them to be accurate!

    samdale67,
Have you had any luck fixing this problem yet?
I just noticed today that my iCloud calendar is consistently one hour behind my iPhone4s calendar. It's as if my iCloud calendar never got the Daylight Savings Time Spring Forward message. The iPhone, on the other hand, updated to DST right on schedule. It's annoying because I'm starting to use my iCloud calendar and would like the time change to be applied.

  • Daylight Savings Time and Calendar?

What will happen to my iPhone calendar events come daylight savings time?

I have had that problem on my mac and iPhone. In my calendar it shows one hour later and even on my alarm clock app it is changing times, just odd random things.
On my iPhone I changed the time setting and it did not help. I am avoiding doing a total wipe and restore or whatever, because I don't want to go through the hassle of re doing everything.
I keep fixing my calendar and it keeps giving me trouble. Let me know if anybody has any ideas.

  • Daylight Savings Time problem

I live in Saskatchewan (SK), a province in Canada that does not observe daylight savings time (we stay on central standard time year round). My iPhone calendar is set to a city in our province (Regina). Looking at next week's calendar entries, they are all pushed back an hour, like the iPhone is automatically compensating for the end of daylight savings this weekend. The only problem is, we don't change our clocks in SK since we don't observe DST, so all my appointments are out an hour.
I hope someone can shed some light on this so I don't have to go into my calendar and manually reset all the times.

The alarm issue is a known problem and apparently Apple plans on fixing it with iOS 4.2. Here's a link to news items about the alarm issue.

  • Daylight Savings Time in Calendar Bar

I am in Australia and we have  also adjusted the clocks to Daylight Savings Time -
I am using an Iphone  5 with IOS 7.0.2 and all settings are set to time zone Sydney, in both  Date and Time and Calendar.
The  calendar shows the correct time at the top of the screen but the red  bar that identifies the current time is showing pre DST - quite bizzare?
My Ipad is showing the same as is my wifes Iphone 5 (also updated with IO7)
    I suggest this is an IO7 glitch/bug - anyone with a solution?

It's not just an hour late issue. My 3GS alarm went off an hour early this past Saturday. I tried to reset the alarm for the desired time and it didn't go off. Then my girlfriend's alarm on her 3GS did go off an hour late this morning.

  • All-day calendar entries and daylight savings time

Since changing to daylight savings time, whenever I change the date on an all-day calendar entry, my iPad (but not my iPhone) changes the one-day calendar entry to a two-da calendar entry. How do I correct this?

Dates are represented internally with a long that represents the number of milliseconds past some fixed point. Timezones do not affect this.
I'm assuming you're getting your dates as java.sql.Date
You should then build a Calendar (see GregorianCalendar) and call setTimeZone() with your timezone without daylight savings

  • Having problems setting alarm time since daylight savings time change today

Since the change to Daylight Savings time this morning, I am unable to set my alarm correctly.  I set it to 2:40 a.m. but the time on the alarm shows 3:40 a.m.  I have all the proper settings correctly done.  I have powered down the phone numerous times, and still the same result. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I've cleared the clock cache, powered off the phone and the problem remains the same. I have the Automatic date & time checked, and the same for Automatic time zone (GMT-5:00, Eastern Daylight Time).  I have even unchecked both and still get the same result.
What is weird, I can set the alarm for any other time, but unable to set it at 2:40 a.m. When I do this, it sets to 3:40 a.m.  Any time that I set from 2:00 a.m. to 2:59 a.m. goes to that time setting in the 3 a.m. time.

  • IPhone 6 Plus Daylight Savings Time Problem

My recent upgrade from iPhone 5 to iPhone 6 Plus has been generally positive, but today the phone outsmarted me.
The phone seemed to be correctly reset to daylight savings time for most of the day.
Around 6PM I set an alarm for 8PM to remind me to wake my sister from a nap.
A while later the alarm goes off. It didn't seem like two hours. I called my sister and said it was eight,
but alas it was only 7PM.
I went into the alarm settings and sure enough the alarm was still set for 8PM.
My Mac Pro says it is 7PM, and the MacBook says so also.
I am on the central coast of California, in Santa Maria. My provider is Sprint.
My very expensive smart phone seems confused about the time. :-(
    Thoughts?

  • Daylight Savings Time changing my calendar!

Because the Pre thinks Daylight Savings Time is effective March 14, now all the appointment times on my Palm Pre calendar are off by one hour. This happened after I updated to webos 1.4.0. Help!

My events also got put off by one hour starting today (second Sunday in March is DST). My events are in a Google calendar, which is set to the correct time zone as is my Pre, and it still happened. Have yet to make sense of it.

  • 10.3.9 Daylight Savings Time Problem (DST Patch applied), it was working

We have about 30 Macs running 10.3.9, all of which were patched last year with the DST patch (2007). They are all configured to set the date and time automatically using time.apple.com. The user account used by the people using them is a non-administrator account.
Since Daylight Savings Time changed in March 9, 2008, they correctly changed their time until late last week (end of March), when several of them went back to the old time. If I open the Date & Time System Preference Pane and authenticate, the clock changes to the correct time, without any further input from me other than authenticating as the admin. Once changed, some but not all go back to the incorrect time about a day later.
Any ideas? I am trying to see if there is a simpler solution that resetting PRAM, throwing away cache files, etc.
Other machines running newer versions of the OS don't have the issue.
Thanks in advance for any input and/or advice.

  • 6681 Daylight Savings Time Problem

I have a 6681 and live in Bangkok, which does not have daylight savings time. Bangkok is set as my Home City. However, I need to coordinate work with people in other timezones that do have DST. With Daylight Savings set on OFF, New York is shown as being 12 hours earlier, when in fact it is 11 hours earlier due to DST. Therefore, it is now 10 am in Bangkok and 11 pm in New York, but the phone shows NY incorrectly as being 10 pm. However, if I set DST to ON,it moves the Bangkok time ahead 1 hour, to 11 am, which is incorrect, but leaves New York unchanged at 10 pm. Therefore, the phone now shows a 13 hour time difference, rather than the correct 11 hour difference.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

After resetting the camera (twice) everything has finally started working.
