Dazzle Support

Alright, so I have a few things to ask about.
First of all, I'm using a Samsung 1080p HDTV Monitor, and it only has one component output, being used by my Xbox 360. It has 2 HDMI outputs, one being used by HD-DVR Comcast box, and one empty.
Now, what I want to do, is use the Dazzle Platinum DVC 170 to record my Xbox 360 gameplay. However, it uses component [red, white and yellow]. I was wondering if there's something I can [that's also cheap, but good quality] that converts Red, White, and Yellow into an HDMI input, and naturally, how much that would cost.
Onto my second problem. Currently, when I try downloading the software for Pinnacle Studio, from the discs provided with the capture card, it says 'there are known compatibility issues with this product' and suggests I go to the website. If I ignore, it will not install successfully. I go to the Pinnacle website, look for patches, and it doesn't support x64 versions of Windows Vista, only x32. [which is really stupid] So, is there anything I can do to solve this problem? Or do I have to find a copy of XP/dual-boot Linux?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Have a nice day

Could you perhaps provide me with a link or give me more information on where to get such a cable? If it's not aloud here, @Kyaizen me on Twitter. It would be greatly appreciated.
On the other hand, they've been saying this since I bought the piece of garbage in 2007. I don't have the money to upgrade to W7 [since I think the pre-order deal has gone away =\] and Pinnacle itself is a terrible company... Gah.. Guess I'll just have to try and get a different capture card. Waste of $120! I don't recommend the Pinnacle Dazzle Platinum anyone!

I'm Recording my TV with my Dazzle DVC 100 and the video comes up and everything but there is no sound....
Do I need splitters? if so can you tell me which one
    Thanks in advance

hi, I ended up looking up what the Dazzle DVC 100 is, and it looks like it needs at least two audio cables for sound (both red and white) and then that is converted to audio to your PC with a USB conversion.
So you just need the red and white cables from the set top box (or device you are recording) and make sure that they are firmly plugged in at both ends (one end being the set top box, the other end being the Dazzle DVC 100)
From there, you are fine, but if you are not getting sound, then you are going to have to play with the settings on the PC for the dazzle, maybe even reload the drivers.    As long as you are physically hooked up right, then it becomes a software issue with the sound.  Dazzle support might be better able to tell you what tricks of the trade there are, with regards to sound

  • I am trying to use Dazzle to access the US Post Office and receive a message saying Your Browser settings do not currently support Secure Socket Layer 3.0.

I have seen the answer posted, but either do not understand it or cannot make it work properly. about:config goes nowhere, cannot find a place to change security level to 0, and by the way, not sure I want to, but I MUST be able to use Dazzle to post my books. (This is my business, online bookseller). And SOON! I'm behind due to this problem, and supposed to leave town Thursday!

  • I have been trying to import VHS video into iMovie via a Hollywood Dazzle bridge.  Did not have trouble until I upgraded to mavericks.  I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, iMovie 10.0.2.  Says it is recording, but when I go to check, it says the file is empty.

I have been trying import VHS video into iMovie via a Hollywood Dazzle bridge.  I have been successful doing this in the past, but now it is not working.  I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, (mavericks), iMovie 10.0.2.  Everything in iMovie looks like it is working.  It reads "recording" in the upper left hand corner of the pane while the video is playing.  When I stop the process to check on my clip it says that the file is empty.  The only thing that has changed since I did it successfully is that I upgraded to mavericks from whatever I had previously.  My system is about one year old.  Any suggestions?

    Hey, Clinton,
Thanks for your help!  I was able to go to iMovie 9.0.9 and import video.  I was still curious as to why it didn't work in version 10.0.2, so I contacted Apple tech support.  They were't sure at first as to why it wouldn't work, so they had me delete iMovie 10.0.2 and then re-install it just to see if something had gone wrong when it upgraded.  That didn't change anything.  In the end, they determined that 10.0.2 doesn't support the Hollywood Dazzle DV bridge.  But I have a workaround path from them that I will share so that it's possible to import to 9.0.9, then move it to 10.0.2.
         1.  Open iMovie 9 (finder/applications/iMovie 9.0.9
         2.  Import from Dazzle Bridge to iMovie 9, note which event you are importing the clips into
         3.  Close iMovie 9
         4.  Open iMovie 10 (probably in the dock)
         5.  File/Import Media...navigate to home(this was my name, on the left side of iMovie, under Favorites)/Movies/iMovie events.  Find the event folder that contains your Dazzle clips (tip-try sorting by date modified to look at recent events.)
         6.  Select the clips and import.  Click the blue "Import Selected" button on the bottom right.
You may get a message that some files cannot be imported.  Click continue import.  It's a little glitchy.  It imports your clip, and also makes a copy of it, too.  On the copy, the audio is normal, but the video is choppy.  In any case, you would delete the copy, anyway.
Hope this additional information helps somebody else.  Thanks again, Clinton for helping me!

  • Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3 and Dazzle 170

    Hi, I have a trouble.
I'm working with: Vista Home Premium 32 Bit, Dazzle DVC 179 Rev.1.2, PCLEUSB2, Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3. I work with Firewire 1394 with Sony Pd100 Camcorder, and and Encoder 3 sounds well (PAL), with USB cam Encoder 3 sounds well (PAL), when I choice Dazzle from the menù, Encoder 3 tell to me: VIDEO FORMAT NOT SUPPORTED - Video format provided by video capture device is not supported by this application. (PAL or NTSC or SECAM).
What can I do for work with this device?
    Thanks in advance

FMLE will work with all devices which have direct show based drivers and give data in raw format. Here is a list of devices which have been tested and certified with FMLE - http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashmediaencoder/FMLE_DeviceMatrix3.0.pdf

  • Dazzle Video Creator Platinum HD for Mac

I have just purchased Dazzle Video Creator Platinum HD after being advised to get it by a staff member at an Apple shop.  When it was delivered it states on the pack it is only compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP.  I don't have parallels on my mac and was hoping I could load dazzle without purchasing parallels and windows.  I dont want to unpack Dazzle and try as I may not get a refund.   Can you advise if Dazzle is compatible with Mac OSX 10.6.3 and if not what I should do to be able to use Dazzle on my MAC?
    Thanks

Well, your MacBook Pro should have iMovie already installed, and that along with an analog to digital convertor is all you really need.
If you get yourself a Digital8 camcorder (I have a Sony one) you can connect the "iLink port" to your MacBook Pro with a FireWire cable, and then iMove can connect to the camera and even control the tape playback/pause options.  I have done this myself a few times.  When I first started converting some old "out of print" VHS tapes to DVD for my wife's classes many years ago, I purchased the Pinnacle MovieBox DV which was my analog-to-digital convertor.  In fact, this old box still works today other than it only works in SD (no HD here).  The Movie Box DV that I have is hard to find now, and it is no longer officially supported, but they are very solidly built and seem to last forever if you can get one.  I had to go the route of the external hardware for convertign the old VHS tapes due their having MacroVision encoding on them, and the hardware I bought will ignore that.

  • How can you get Premiere Elements to recognize hardware.  It will NOT recognize my Dazzle Video Capture device or either of two HP DVD burntes. I feel like I wasted my money.

That should have read, It will NOT recognize my Dazzle device or either of 2 HP DVD burners.

    TNTerri
What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
If Premiere Elements 13, please be advised that it does not support DV or HDV capture firewire. And, any USB devices
have never worked for that purpose for Premiere Elements (any version).
As for the burner not being recognized in the Burner Location field of burn dialog of the program, please consider
(if you are dealing with DVD CD burner rather than a Blu-ray DVD CD burner.
CD, DVD drive not recognized after Adobe application install | Windows
Depending on how matters progress, you may want to do an uninstall reinstall using the following scheme
Uninstall, the usual Control Panel way
Do a free ccleaner run through to get rid of leftovers from incomplete installs reinstalls
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
Reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
We might even involve later a deletion of the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary, the whole Folder in
which it exists. More on the latter later.

messages saying "Video format provided by capture device is not

  • My dazzle drivers won't install

I have a Dazzle DVC 100 and it plugs in and the laptop (HP Pavillion TouchSmart, Windows 8) scans it fine. However when i try and update the drivers it won't install even though i have the right drivers downloaded! When i try to install the drivers by
their wizards it comes up with an error screen that says that the install was interupted. Please help!

    Hi,
What is the detailed error message? And anything valuable recorded in the event?
    You can first try:
    Temporarily turn off security software.
    Re-download the driver, install again.
If fail again, Install the driver in safe mode:
Start your computer in safe mode
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7
And just as ZigZag3143x said, it is also recommended to contact pinnacle support.

Tx. Morbus. I thought I had upgraded - how remiss of me! (Particularly as I'm something of a Mozilla evangelist). I'll go whip myself soundly in a mo.
As for Twitter, my point (and I'm trying to reach out here - these forums are not ideal) is that despite sucking (no argument there) Mozilla really has no business in promoting it.
Being commercial and closed source, Twitter Inc. stands for pretty much everything that Mozilla doesn't. It may only be a vehicle, but large sites such as this one have a responsibility to show that it's not the only way to micro-blog. As a community we should eschew it completely because by supporting it we're giving a legitimacy that it simply does not deserve.

  • FMLE crashing with Dazzle 100

    Hello,
I'm using FMLE 3.2 with windows 7 32 bit and pinnacle dazzle. First of all FMLE is not recognized dazzle as audio device, but I think there is driver
problem. Second problem is when from FMLE swithching to video input Dazzle programm is crashing wihtout messages. Also nothing in log files !
Only workaround are disable both video previews in FMLE.
Why that ? How can it be fixed?

no other alternative with dazzle. FMLE does not support dazzle cards so I am surprised it even works in FMLE

  • Lenovo 3000C100 and Dazzle DVD Recorder incompatibility

    Greetings,
I recently installed the Dazzle DVD Recorder hardware and software to digitilize my SECAM old videocassettes (analogic source) using a USB connection and Pinnacle Instant software.
But the program crashes everytime I try to burn the video onto a blank DVD. Pinnacle support services seem unable to find a suitable solution even after trying out their advice (shut down resident programs, update graphic and audio drivers, etc)...
A question is: which USB connectors are USB2 on my laptop and which are not? Because Dazzle only works with USB2...
And how to update the CD/DVD rom drive? It might be the problem (hardware)
Has anybody got the same problem?
It is interesting to note that the same problam happens with Windows Vista Home Edition Premium on an office-bases ACER PC...
    Thank you..

Do a search for MPEG-2 to QuickTime.
DVD's use MPEG-2 for compression and playback. Converting them for editing does involve some extra software and $$ but can be done.
