  • Update kernel and recieved a "Machine check error"

I was on Vacation this last weekend but was finally able to update today. Upgrade seemd fine, issued reboot command and instead of my normal reboot I was greeted with "machine check error" flashing in my upper left hand corner. Syslinux never came up. I powered off manually and pulled the battery, subsequent reboot went off without a hitch.

I have never seen this error and my googlefu return issues with overclocking which I am not doing. Any info on the subject I'd love to hear.
    Cheers.
EDIT: Was only happening when issuing 'systemctl reboot' so I switched back to 3.10.10-1-ARCH and reboot command now works.

Well, I can tell you that this kind of error is not OS related, but rather a HW thing.  It happens where there is a general detection of something going wrong.  Sometimes it can happen randomly and might not be an indication of a problem.  But sometimes it can be caused by things that are improperly functioning within the system like bad capacitors.
Unfortunately I don't really know what to do about such things except give you machine a proper inspection.  But if things are working fine, and continue to do so, I wouldn't worry about it.  If it becomes a regular occurance, then I'd worry.

  • System-wide Spell Checker Error

I newly installed Leopard on a MacBook Pro, and now in Mail, Safari and iTunes, I get a "Couldn't contact Spell Checker" error message when I try to type in these programs. The problem disappears in Mail if I set Spell Check to never in the preferences. Safari & iTunes don't have that option, that I could see.
But that's besides the point. Spell check should be seamless and automatic. The error doesn't just occur once. It basically hangs the program because the error cycles continuously and I have to force-quit to get out of the application.
So now I am using Firefox to type this because Safari wouldn't let me type without letting me know it can't contact spell checker.
To remedy the situation, I've verified and repaired permissions, although I did not see any permissions that related to this issue. I downloaded and re-installed the 10.5.1 update. No effect. I've spotlighted 'spell checker' and only gotten the .dll file from Windows as a return.
    Guesses, anyone?

etresoft, thanks for the hint. I looked and found tons of stuff, but not a thing to do with the spell checker error. I did log into another profile on the affected machine and had no trouble whatsoever. Does that mean the problem is in my home/library? I think, hopefully logically, that there's another program causing this issue. What would be the logical way to approach this?

4.I have even uninstalled and re-installed the SMD and hostagent, and change the alert_timeout parameter in T-code DMD, but the issue insisted.
5.Only a few SMDs in my landscape, so I think the parameter MaxThreadCount, InitialThreadCount, MinThreadCount should be no problem.
Now I have no idea how to proceed, please give me some advice, thank you in advance.

    Hi Pany
Kindly check the below two sapnote

Moreover , you need to check/verify/maintain the parameter in configtool

I face the same issue , which got resolved by maintaining the above parameters, maxthreadCount,

  • Workflow condition to check error records in a multi line container element

    Hi All,
My requirement is to change a standard workflow in which below condtion is checked and subsequent action is taken.
The condtion checks a return internal table contains a row or not. Now the problem is for success and Information messages
also the return table contains entries and the condition is becoming true. Subsequently workflow follows error recovery steps when there is no error.
SAP suggests a note with manual corrections and mentions to change the condition to check whether error records are there. So can we enhance the condition &return& NX to something that it checks error records. I dont want to create a new step and go to business object method to delete non error records.
Please let me know if this condition can be enhanced.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Aleem Mohiuddin.

    Dear Aleem,
As this is sap standard workflow, should report this error and wait for feed back. Or add a loop step before of this check any E messages inside, if yes put a errflg as x other wise keep as blank.
    Best of luck.

  • Notebook caught in infinite loop, then gives a Hard Drive Short DST check error in Bios

My laptop shut off unexpectedly last week. It got caught in an infinite loop when trying to restart. I was able to access bios and run a system check. I received Failure ID Q0821A-7017lt-xd7wwk-60xx03. I cannot get the computer to start. Please advise.

    1. This is a hardware issue and the Hard Drive is faulty
    2. You cannot recover this failure ID unless you replace the Hard drive
    Detailed Explanation:
Whenever you get a message stating that the Short DST Check error with 24 Digit Failure ID "Q0821A-7017LT-XD7WWK-60XX03" that indicates that the Hard Disk Drive requires a replacement to resolve the issue
Could be due to Application or driver conflicts, virus issues, file corruptions due to incompatible applications, improper shutdowns, update failures due to conflicts, sudden power surges, if notebook is dropped etc..
HP will provide a replacement Hard Disk Drive if the Notebook warranty is Active, If not you need buy a SATA Hard Disk Drive from a retail shop nearby
Please make sure you are getting at least equal capacity as the original one in order to use Recovery Disks. If you need you can buy a larger, but not smaller capacity Hard Disk Drive. For example if you have a 500GB Hard Disk Drive you can upgrade it to 750GB Hard Disk Drive but not 320GB Hard Disk Drive
Please try the below shown troubleshooting steps once:
Step 01. Remove the battery and unplug the AC/Power Adapter
Step 02. Press and hold the Power button for more than 30 Seconds
Step 03. Plug in the AC/Power Adapter (leave the Battery out for now)
Step 04. Press the Power button and check if the Unit works normal
If the above mentioned steps does not help, then you can try reseating the Hard Drive on your Notebook
If the issue persists again please Contact HP if your HP Notebook is under warranty, HP would replace the Hard Disk Drive and provide you a Recovery media to restore factory operating system after replacement (if you've not yet created Recovery Discs/USB Media)
Note: Back up all the personal data to an external drive if it's possible. Otherwise you could connect the failed HDD via SATA to USB adapter with another PC or same PC after replacement of HDD & re-installation of OS and try copying /recovering the files.

  • Ipod nano giving "cyclic redundancy check error"

    Hi
I have an ipod nano 4gb. recently when i connect it to my windows laptop it is not showing up in iTunes. I have gone thru the support site and tried all the options, none of them worked though. It is getting recognized by windows os and when i try to copy something to the removable disk(ipod) it pops up a message saying "cyclic redundancy check error".
can someone help me in this.
    Thanks
    Kousik
    nano 4gb   Windows XP
      Windows XP
    ipod nano 4gb   Windows XP

The cyclic redundancy check error (CRC) means that there is either a problem with the file you are trying to transfer to your iPod, or with the files already on the iPod. The fact that it happens when you try to copy something to the nano would indicate a problem with the nano itslef. If you have any data already on the nano, see if you can open it without getting that error, or successfully copy other data to it.
You've probably been through this, but read this article: iPod shows up in Windows but not in iTunes.
If you keep getting the CRC error, and the iPod isn't recognized in iTunes or the iPod updater, you probably need to format the drive. Back up the data on your iPod if you can, and right click on the disk in My Computer and select format. Format it in FAT32, and don't do a quick format. Then, restore the iPod with the iPod updater.

  • ZlibDecompressor: ADLER32 check error

I have some users that are facing the Groove cryptographic services encountered an invalid data stream. Internal error message follows: ZlibDecompressor: ADLER32 check error. HRESULT: 0x80004005  on Microsoft Office Groove 2007
client. What this means? Is this an error from the client or some corrupted workspace?

    Hi Luiz,
This sounds like an account corruption.
To test this, create another user (Start Button > Control Panel > Users) account on the computer and sign into that user account.
Open up Groove and see if the error happens.  If the error does not happen and you are prompted to create a new account for the user profile, then it is an account corruption issue.
You will need to run a Grooveclean –all on the main user account and start over with a new Groove account:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907854
If the error does occur on the test user profile, then this is a deeper problem.
You will need to open up a support ticket with Microsoft so that we can dig deeper into the issue.

  • PCIE Slot Check error

My Mac Pro (10.5.6) is crashing. Console shows a PCIE Slot Check error.
Is this something I can fix by starting over again with a fresh Leopard installation - or is it a hardware issue?
I can't get the Tech Tools CD sold with my computer to work will not load. I ordered the new Tech Tools Pro 5 - but it still is not here.
I am stuck - a big mac crashing over and over again.
What is the PCIE slot check - and what should I do? The Mac Pro is under warranty - but the closest Apple store is 120 miles away.
    Dick

I tried to load the Tech Tools disk that came with the MacPro - but it will not load. There is an update for the Tech Tools - but you have to have tech tools loaded first to use it - a catch 22.
I ordered Tech Tools Pro 5 - but it seems that they are very slow to ship.
I am waiting now with everything unplugged. What is "resetting the smu ? That is a new one to me - and I thought that I knew everything about Macs.
I am running out of ideas. I have a new 1TB HD also on order - and I had planned to put in a new HD - load a virgin set of Leopard with no other software and see what the MacPro does then.
I have 10 GB of Crucial RAM - and this machine has been working well for over 1 year. Only recently it has started to freeze and crash - and now it is constant.

These were related to memory corruption.  Please run driver verifier below to find the underlying cause.  I noticed the remnants  of Symantec on 2 of the 3 DMPS so it may still be resident
These crashes were related to memory corruption (probably caused by a driver).
Please run these tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.
If you are overclocking (pushing the components beyond their design) you should revert to default at least until the crashing is solved. If you don't
know what it is you probably are not overclocking.
Since it is more likely to be a driver please run verifier first.

  • Result recording(QM) - Status check error

    Hi Friends,
I can not perform Result recording(QE01) due to "status Check Error".
Inspection lot was created through GR. And then i tried to do Result recording. But i am getting error "status check error-This function you selected cannotbe carried out".
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks

    hi
If no Inspection Plan is found,
    1. Inspection Plan is not available. Check in QP03 for the material/plant combination the availability of plan. If not available, create it using QP01.
    2. The date of creation of Plan is later that date of creation of Inspection Lot. In this case, in QA02 give the key date as before the date of creation of plan.
Next, you can do the Result Recording (from QA32 screen or use QE51N)
Once all results are entered and saved, the status become INSP.
Now, do the Usage Decision (QA32 / QA11) and here give the acceptace code and post the stock into Unrestricted stock
