DB Connect to connect to SAP DB Schema

Hi,
We want to pull the data from the SAP DB schema lets say named "xyz_db" which is created on the same SAP DB server as the BW 7.0 system.
The DBadmin is the main admin user for this "xyz_db"schema. This schema is being used by a webdynpro application. The data is fed into the tables of this schema from this application and we want the BW, which is running on the same instance of NW, to pull the data from this schema.
Now, when I try to create a Source System using DB Connect in the transaction rsa1 I get an error while saving the connection saying "Password Invalid" even though the password is correct. I can log on to the schema using SQL studio or dbmcli using the same user id and password.
The data which I entered to create the DB Connect(when i select create option) is as follows:
- Logical destination : xyz_db
- DBMS: ADA
- user name: dbadmin
- password: dbadmin/dbadmin
- Conn. info : <server id> - xyz_db
- permanent : checked
- connection limit: 20
- optimum conns: 10
When I check the SM21 I get the error message as :
1 171900 h Database Error (Non-SQL) BY 2 -4008 CON dbds 1044
I have read the PDf: Transferring data with DB connect and the help.sap.com but doesnt work.

Hello Guys,
we have a problem with connection from DP to SAP PI via SOAP/https.
DP send a request and get a timeout. timeout is 2 or 3 minutes.
DP and SAP PI authentificated with certificates.
Our Problems:
DP get now failure code
in commnication channel monitoring in RWB from SAP PI I see no entry, no error
in java default trace I see no error.
What could be the Problem? What must we configure for https communication via SOAP Adapter?
Which Log get me some information?

I have check all, but it resolved not my problem.
I will describe my scenario again:
scenario:
syncronous request from system A over DataPower ->SAP PI to SAP system.
communication DataPower to PI: SOAP over https
DataPower located in other network zone.
port is activated in firewall.
called URL from DataPower:
https://<host>:5<instance number>01/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?
channel=:<business system>:<interface>
Problem:
authentication looks like ok. No error in ICM Trace, in default java
trace login from DataPower IP-adress ok.
but no message is to see in the communication channel.
no message in the adapter engine, no message in the integration engine
DataPower get a timeout. (Timeout 2 minutes)
we find no error, but also no message
What could be the error? And where find I some information in SAP PI.

Connecting Crystal Reports to SAP BW BEx query

We have used Crystal Enterprise 8.5 to connect to an SAP BW BEx query in the past, however we are having some difficulties. Rather than trying to upgrade our old CE system, I've been told that we should be able to connect Crystal Reports (2008?) directly to the BW BEx query. I've been trying to accomplish this, but can't seem to find any drivers that will allow the connectivity. When I try to set up a connection using OLAP, the only two options listed are Hyperion and Microsoft OLAP. I have an old version of Brio Query (now Hyperion, now Oracle) that does show up with a driver for BW, but this doesn't show up in my Crystal options.
Can someone give me some advice as to how to connect Crystal Reports to SAP BW? I realize there are licensing issues with running live data without using Crystal Enterprise (or later BO products), but I'm just looking to print a report to a PDF.

Unable to use SSO with universe connection on top of SAP BW query

Hi,
We're creating a universe on top of a SAP BW query by using universe designer.
We logon to universe designer by using SAP credential.
When creating the connection, we set the option "Use Single Sign On when refreshing reports at view time" in order to logon to BW server. But when clicking next, an error arises:
"DBD: Unable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon data"
The strange thing on this is that there is one laptop which is able to set up this kind of connection, while all other workstations are not able to set it because they recieve that error (we all work against the same BO server). So this looks like an installation issue.
We reinstalled SAP Integration Solutions on those workstations, but problem is still the same.
I found thread: Universe Connection Authentication on SAP BW which talks about the same issue, but solution involves uninstalling Xcelsius. But we do need Xcelsius!
Any suggestions?

Error while connecting for Java to SAP

Hi All,
I am encountering the following error while connecting from Java to SAP through JCO:
RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: You are not authorized to logon to the target system
I have checked the connection string and everything appears to be fine.
Please let me know what the problem is.

Connecting Data Federator to SAP R/3

I have updated the jdbc.sbo file to include the classpath to the Data Federator JDBC driver (thindriver.jar) with

I did install the prototype and was able to select SAP ERP Java Connector. However, I now come across the following when testing my connection:
The connection to Data Federator Failed
An exceptino occurred when querying Data Federator Query System.
Wrapper/TEST/sysadmin/Sources/draft/Datasource1
sap3wrapper.cannotConnectWithSap
Not sure how to resolve that...

Connection to database in sap crystal reports enterprise xi 4.0

When we are trying to connect to database in sap crystal reports enterprise xi 4.0 ,i am geting the below error.please advise.

I checked all this things and all are working fine.
Now I am able to connect to BOE server.
The cause behind the issue was in "CMC > Applications > Web
Service > Access URL:" the URL was having different server name which we have changed earliar, I just correct the URL and issue got resolved.
But now when I am trying to access BOE Server through Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.0 client tool directly not from launch pad, it probes me the same error. (Note: I used the same parameters which i got from launch pad token to this)
Is that a only way to use Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.0 from launch pad ??

Connecting legacy system to sap bw

Hellow PPl
I am in to implematation for a proj. The client was using the legacy system for reporting and now they want SAP BW
Moreover they were not having r3 is the past but now they are implemeting r3 and will post their documents there.
They are intersted to fetch all the data whihch is in their legacy system in to sap bw and once its done they will post all the documents in r3 and as per that we will connect R/3 to bw.
My question is
1) How to connect the legacy system to bw
2) If its possible , will it be advisable to have 2 source systems attached to bw OR after loading data from the legacy system into bw., we should scrap the system as it is not rquired for furute use. (As from no onwards data will be posted in r3)

Connection to ECC with SAP Logon Group failing

I'm creating a new system connection to an ECC backend using a logon group (transaction SMLG in ABAP stack). I have created the connection with the wizard as a SAP_R3_LoadBalancing connection and given it the appropriate Group, Logical System Name, Message Server, Remote Host Tppe and SAP Client. Also I've given it an Alias.
SSO is working correctly between the portal and ECC.
The System Connection Tests > Connection Test for Connectors works, as can been seen::
Test Connection with Connector
Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
Results
Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection successful
However, if I try to connection to this system with the Alias, it fails. If I change the alias to a system with a standard R3 connection with a specified hostname, it works. The /etc/services is correct and contains the appropriate entries. Any ideas?

Thanks for the response. When user from CRM logged in another language than EN for eg. FR, clicks on external link in CRM, takes to EN, only if that language FR is not installed in ECC, else it will take to the same language in which CRM user logged in. This cannot be controlled in SSO configuration. Is this correct?
In case if FR is installed in both the systems, ie CRM and ECC, but user wants to log only to EN when clicked the external link(to ECC) from CRM, how we can configure this, Is any parameter can control or SSO setup configuration available? Please advice.

Connectivity of Java and SAP using JCO

Using the example5 given along with the JCO package I was able to connect to Java from SAP. Can I use the same server for bi directional data transfer . That is I want to use the same server to recieve data from SAP and also I should be able to Send data to SAP from Java using the same server.

How to create user other than 'sa' to connect database server in SAP SBO

I want to ask how the step for create user other than 'sa' to connect database server in SAP SBO? Until now I use 'sa' (default) for connect to database server in SAP SBO application.
Can I do that?

You may create multiple SQL users to give full right to B1 database instead of using 'sa' user.
However, the preferred way would be by Use Trusted connection when you set the connection to SQL Server. In this way, you just need one more user for SQL. A group of window users could use this SQL access to connect database server.
