DB Connection failed in Netweaver 2004s ABAP

When I try to start Netweaver 2004s ABAP, I am getting error message as "DB Connection failed". I have used the system for two days and executed transaction 'sgen'. Now the disp+work is getting started and stopped immediately. Please give me a solution to rectify the error.
with love and prayers,

<i>Is there a way to set the new ABAP editor for BSP?</i>
i assume that you mean the ABAP code in the event handlers in BSP.
i am using SAP GUI patch level 15 and for activating new ABAP editor from SE80 use the following menu path
utilities->ABAP editor-> editor
choose front-end editor (new) tadio button.

    Hi all
    I've read your entrys.
Saw that the solution is missing.
It can be found in the manuals:
    1. Download the "Registry Clean Tool for SAP NetWeaver 2004s ABAP" and use it.
    2. Download the latest Version of "SAP NetWeaver 2004s ABAP" and un-rar it.
    3. Install the "Microsoft Loopback Adapter" an activate it.
    4. Retry to install.
    Summary:
So the error 200 was caused for the first time from trying an installation without a Loopback Adapter, and after that from trying to re-install without cleaning the registry.
    Now its working fine.

That does not automatically start your instance. Have a look at the shortcuts SAP installed in your startmenu. There's both a startscript and a stopscript.

  • Install License Key for SAP NetWeaver 2004s ABAP trial Edition.

    Hello.
I have two installations of the SAP NetWeaver 2004s ABAP trial Edition (on desktop and laptop). After the expiration of the original 30 days license; now I need to install the extended License (90 days). I am using SLICESE transaction from SAP* user account to install the new license.  I have got the "License Key" from SAP website. However, <b>the installation of the new License Key fails to complete successfully</b> (it fails to add the new license key) and ends with an error prompt.  This problem is happening on both systems! <b>Has anyone experienced such problem?</b> What did you do to fix it?
Note: no errors in typing in the new Key, as I used the copy and paste!
Thank you very much for your help.

    Rich,
Thanks again for your help. I found out that if you try to install the new license key  (first time) with any error (such as wrong expiration date), it will fail as "invalid key", naturally. However, the subsequent attempts also continues to fail despite the fact that the correction are made. the only way I could fix this was to stop and restart the SAP Application server and make sure that the first attempt has typos. <b>It seems to me that once an error flag is set, it is not removed unless the server is restarted.</b> well, the problem is fixed now and thank you for your help.

  • Installation Error (Netweaver 2004s ABAP Trial)

    Hi all!
I can't install the ABAP trial version of NetWeaver 2004's. Every time the installation stops at 30-40%. Before each installation i am running the regclean Tool, because i've read in one thread that this error could be caused by registry entries of a previous installation. But after that the error still appears. If someone can help me on that, i will be glad.
My operation system is Windows XP (Media Center Edition / Version 2002) SP2 and i've configured a MS Loopback Adapter.

Therefore it seems to be exactly the same as mentioned in this Thread
c.) Before I installed the ABAP trial Netweaver SP11 version I used the SP8 version sucessfully which has been available since I believe December using the same hard ware equipment. I was able to install the former version (with same problems) on the same hard disk using the same operating system (by the way Windows XP SP2)

e.) I have "surfed" a little bit in the internet and it seems to be that this error is well known but the solution proposed (matter of size of hard disk drive or matter of fact of size of memory installed) seems to be incorrect
The some problem has been discribed here:

    http://www.mundosap.com/foro/printthread.php?t=5177&page=2&pp=10
NW2004s ABAP Trial Version   error code = 601
Up to know I found no suitable solution to get rid of the problem as I have really (in my opinion) a suitable hardware (big hard disk; 1 GB RAM etc.)

  • Netweaver 2004s ABAP or JAVA?

I downloaded the 2004s preview with ABAP app server, but noticed two other distributions.  One was full Java and the other express Java.
In the Java distributions, is there still an ABAP development environment?  Or are the distributions with J2EE using Java instead of ABAP?
Sorry if this question is too "green".
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi Smith,
I dont think we have the ABAP development enviornment in the JAVA distributions provided.
The links below will give you fairly a good idea about SAP NetWeaver 2004s:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/57/a21f407b402402e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    /people/sap.user72/blog/2006/02/11/sap-netweaver-2004s--where-is-it-really-documented
and as i just saw the previous reply to your post which said that the sneak preview is with both java and abap stack.i have a small info for you  regarding the same.
SDN recently released 2 Sneak Preview products:
    - SAP NetWeaver 04 SP15 Full Java Edition
    - SAP NetWeaver 04s Full ABAP Edition (with Web Dynpro for ABAP)
for XI we need both the Java and the Abap stack and not just having them individually because of which you cannot use it for XI.That is, the Sneak Preview products contain either the JAVA or the ABAP stack but not both together.
The link below i guess will also help you learn more about the Sneak Preview products:
    http://www.howforge.com/news/sneap-preview-sap-netweaver-04-sp15-java-abap
I hope I have answered your query.

    Hello Folks,
I have installed the ABAP sneakpreview, and have activated the BW on client 001.
Most things work well, but i am having problems with starting the Query Designer. I logon to the query designer, but nothing starts up.
In SM50 i see a lot of frontend objects being activated, but after this i do not see the Query Designer coming up. Does anyone have a clue.
    Thanks & Best Regards,

    Hi Dabre,
To work with BI 7 Query designer you have to downlaod latest patches of SAPGUI. Also you need to have MS OFFICE 2003 and .NEt framework installed.
Also check the blog to active your Bex settings in BI 7.

    Hello,
i just installed the Netweaver Preview and now i try to connect with the SAPGUI (7.0) to this server.
I tried with the Advanced Confguration
    conn=/H/devwin2k3/S/50100
    But this does not work.
The Server is running (every icon in the sapmmc is green)
The Portalserver is responding and working when i connect to it with a webbrowser.
    Any ideas?

    System ID J2E????
Are you trying to reach an abap backend system or a J2EE engine or a portal??
If you're trying to reach the R/3 backend, check the SID and system number, if you still have problems, check that in the SAPMMC all the lights are green, if not check the logs dev_disp, dev_ms, dev _w0
    I'm a bit confused here!
To connect to the J2EE engine page
    http://<localhost.fqdn>:<port>
    To connect to portal
    http://<localhost.fqdn>:<port>/irj/portal

    Hello,
Try to install the MaxDB software manually, then continue with the installation of SAP Netweaver. Check whether there is any another entry of same SID into NSP? if yes then use any another SID for Netweaver system.

  • System Copy for SAP Netweaver 2004 ABAP and Java

    Dear Friends,
We are planning to do System copy for CRM 4.0 (ABAP+Java) from PROD to Quality.
    Production has following
    Production
    CRP (ABAP+JAVA, Oracle 10g)
CR1 (Java Standalone, CRM Applications, Oracle 10g)
CR2 (Java Standalone, CRM Applications, Oracle 10g)
    Test
    CRT (ABAP+JAVA, Oracel 10g)
CR1 (Java Standalone, CRM Applications, Oracle 10g)
As per my understanding perfrom System Copy in two methods
    1. Using Offline backup of CRP from the Split Mirror backup.
    2. Export of the CRP from the Split Mirror backup.

If you have Split Mirror available you could definitely use it. Redirected restore or export/import are the alternatives. You could also use file copy (system offline is preferred).

  • Netweaver 2004s ABAP Sneak Preview

    Hello Folks,
I am getting the following error on trying to install the ABAP Sneakpreview:
    ABAP: ERROR 2006-08-18 07:27:38 MOS-01185 The subkey 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic
es\EraserUtilRebootDrv' does not exist on the 'localhost'
    Please note:
    1) The file system is NTFS, OS is Win XP Pro SP2, 2 GB RAM
    2) Norton was disabled. (tried disabling Norton from the system tray, did not work. So disabled all Norton services in msconfig. Even that did not help; the same error again)
    3) jdk1.4.2_12 is installed.
    Can anyone help ? ...
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Dabre

    Hi Subhash,
Thanks for that .. There is no other firewall than the Norton, and i disabled that.. So seems to be another issue. ..
Just was reading through one of the weblogs .. and not sure if the extraction directory, where i extracted the sneakpreview could be the cause of a problem as well .. I did not extract in C: .. but somewhere in "My Documents"  ..
Maybe will check this as well...
Any other ideas folks ? ..

  • SAP NetWeaver 2004 abap edition license help

    Hi all.
Im install new license into system and press enter.
    System message error.
    TIME LIMIT EXCCEDED 300....
Please help me remove this problem....

When you do something in a freshly installed system, a lot of stuff is generated (=compiled) when the functionality is needed the first time.
On smaller hardware this can take longer than predefined time outs (which are usually defined for the common later case when everything has already been compiled in the system).
Just try it again, maybe even several times.
