Db Console service  not getting started

Hello,
I am trying to start DB console from services and also from the command prompt.Its not getting start from both.
The database is up and running. Even the Isqlplus service is running successfully. Any idea why the DB Console could not be getting started.

I have this same issue of not able to start my Oracle 10g DBConsole on my windows xp machine.
this is what happened. the dbconsole was starting up fine until we had to change the IP address of our systems.
from the moment we changed IP address of our systems, the dbconsole is not functioning at all.
i have even update the hosts file under window system32 folder. but still dbconsole is not starting.
initially i was getting error as ORACLE_SID not set. so i set the environment variable. and then when i try to start dbconsole at command prompt as
c:>emctl start dbconsole
i get error as
"OC4J Configuration issue. C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole
_DECK_AAORCL not found."
Can someone help me solve this.

    We recently installed Oracle EPM suite 11.1.1.1 in one of our Windows 2003 SP1 Server. The products so far installed are:
    EPM Foundation Services
    Performance Management Architect
    Calculation Manager
    Financial Management
    Workspace
    Financial Reporting
    Smart Space
    However the Performance Management or Dimension Server (Or any related services to BPMA) services doesnt get started. Also we tried to manually start the service by opening the "HyS9BPMA_EventManager.exe" but it gives error
    "Cannot Start Service from the command line or debugger. A windows serrvice must first be installed (using installutil.exe) and then started with the ServerExplorer, Windows Services Administrative tool or the Net START command".
    However the InstallUtil.exe also doesnt solve the purpose.
    Have anybody faced such kind of issues or has a resloution? Kindly provide any pointers.

    These are the related services in ServiceManager that I can see:
    Hyperion EPM Architect - .Net JNI Bridge
    Hyperion EPM Architect - Engine Manager
    Hyperion EPM Architect - Event Manager
    Hyperion EPM Architect - Job Manager
    Hyperion EPM Architect - Web Application
    Hyperion EPM Architect Data Synchronization - Web Application
    All these services are started.
    The service Hyperion EPM Architect - Process Manager is not present in these services list. Although the exe file is present in the location:
    *<HYPERION_HOME>\products\Foundation\BPMA\AppServer\DimensionServer\ServerEngine\bin* I can see the file HyS9BPMA_ProcessManager.exe .
    But it doesnt get started.
    I tried reinstalling the BPMA, but no positive result. Do you think I missed something in between.

    i trid to open 10g db em in browser vt http://servername:portno/em
    but it displays page cannot displaed
    emctl stauts dbconsole is showing
    oralce Em 10g is not running
    so i tried emctl start dbconsole from command line
    then i got message below

    I have just wrote this reply to another thread, take a look at it, maybe you can solve your stuff with the instructions below:

    The EM is kind of sensitive with network change's, I had a similar issue a few days ago, try to check all this parameters if it helps.
    1. Get the machine name and go to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and hardcode the ip address and the hostname there, you should be able to ping <hostname> and get the anwsers back from the cmd.
    2. Go in your oracle home and check if the agent is pointing to the right ip and ports. The file is on $OH\<hostname>\sysman\emd\targets.xml
    3. Go in the OEM conf file and check out if you can connect with the same exacly connection string showed in the file $OH\<hosthame>\sysman\config\emoms.properties
    You can try to put the connection string on your tnsnames.ora and try to connect to the database.
    4. The listener should be registered into the instance, so you may look at the local_listener parameter (can't remember the parameter name for sure) and check if your listener is registered.
    5. You should also look at the lsnrctl application and see if the Service the OEM is trying to reach is there, if is not, you should modify your listener.ora.
    6. Last you could try the emctl reconfigure option emca -reconfig dbcontrol db
    There are other options to re-create the repository but I never had to take that far.
    Of course there should be more places to look and some steps are not need to solve your problem but I tryed to list all the places I had to reconfigure by the time I changed my network settings.
    In my case was a production server so no reboot, shutdown or stuff like that was an option.
    By last, remember to stop the service emctl stop dbconsole and emctl stop agent before doing changes to configuration.

  • SAP Service not getting started

    Hi Experts,
    After rebooting the WEB AS java server i am not able to restart the SAP services i.e. SAP<SID>_00, SAP<SID>_01 etc.
    Gettign the following error
    1.  Initialization failed. Service not started. [ntservmain.cpp 1497]
    2.  Unable to change to Directory
    <HOST Name>\saploc\<SID>\JC00\work. (Error 53 ERROR_BAD_NETPATH: The network path was not found. ) [ntservstart.cpp 1024]

  • Database Service not Getting Started

    I have installed, configured Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition on Windows 2000 Profesional.
    - Database Created
    - User Created
    - Data imported into the user from a Dump file.
    - Logged on to OEM by creating a Repository.
    My problem is the above activities are done before Re-starting the system after installation. When I Re-started it the Database Service is not started. Database Service normally starts soon after the system starts (Automatically was set in Services of Windows). It says Starting, but could not start. what could be the reason?. My system runs on 128 MB Ram with 550 Mhz Pentium Processor with enough Swap Memory.

    Do you get any error messages when you start the database manually? Also, are there any messages in the oracle logs? This is the Error Message.
    **: The Service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

  • SAP router service not getting started

    Hi,
    While trying to start the saprouter serices in service.msc it is giving an error.
    could not start the saprouter service on local computer.
    Error: 1067 The process teminated unexpecedly
    Due to this we need to start the router service at the o/s level
    Is there is any option that we can re-install the saprouter services.?

    Which resulted in failure.

    There was some changes done in instanceconfig.xml
    after reverting those changes and a machine reboot, presentation services working

    Follow the below steps
    1. check the Event under application on the server.
    2. Goto usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS<$$>\exe and double click on the sapstartsrv.exe and re-register the SAP<SID>_<$$> service.
    Also do pate the logs of the Application event.

  • CVP 9.0 (1) - VXML Server service is not getting started

    I am installing a CVP 9.0(1) in my lab and the VXML Server service is  not getting started; It throws the below error.
    From CVP Error logs, I see the following the snippets.
    13: 172.16.13.147: May 29 2013 11:53:55.937 -0700: %CVP_9_0_Infrastructure-0-START: No Subsystems have been started. Have you configured your server yet? ; Make sure <CVP_HOME>\conf\propFileList.properties is loading "system" and that <CVP_HOME>\conf\system.properties lists at least one subsystem to load. [id:1033]
    Could somebody please suggest on how to fix it.

    It should run in Evaluation mode
    Each VXML Server requires a separate license, even if the software is installed on the same machine. The
    VXML server license is tied to the IP address. If you change the IP address of the server, then you must request
    for another license.
    When you start VXML Server without an active license (for example, the license is missing, invalid, or
    expired) it logs a message to the application server console and startup log to indicate that you need to activate
    the license. However, you can still use an unlicensed installation of VXML Server with up to 30 simultaneous
    sessions for evaluation purposes. To utilize more simultaneous sessions, activate a valid license of VXML
    Server.
    You need to look for logs here startup error (C:\Cisco\CVP\VXMLServer\logs) and the OAMP logs

    BI scheduler service is not getting started and showing this error
    Could not start the oracle BI Scheduler Service on local computer.
    Error 1064:An Exception occured in the service when handling the control request

    Refer to Oracle Business Intelligence Infrastructure Installation and Configuration Guide.
    Chapter 10 discussed configuring Oracle BI Scheduler.
    The steps include:
    Create a scheduler schema.
    Create tables in the scheduler schema using scripts.
    Updating configuration options in Job Manager.
    Updating the config files: instanceconfig.xml & credentialstore.xml.
    Start the Oracle BI Scheduler.
    If all goes well, the BI Scheduler should start.

    Need urgent help.
    The Hyperion S9 OpenLDAP service is not getting started on windows server after unexpected restart of the server. I am getting the following error
    " Windows could not start the Hyperion S9 OpenLDAP on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 21."
    I have tried running the recovery exe "openLDAP\bdb\bin\db_recover.exe". But still unable to start the service.
    I am using Hyperion 11.1.1.3 version.

  • OEM is not getting started after changing the Server name

    Hello DBAs
    Recently I installed Oracle database 10g on my a windows machine. It was working fine. Integrated OEM was also working fine.
    But now I have changed the machine name. Now Oracle Database has come up after updating the listener.ora & tnsnames.ora files with new server name. But OEM page is not getting open now. I tried after updating the emd.properties and other related file on ORACLE_HOME\sysman folder with the new server name. But no luck.
    In windows services one service named *"OracleDBConsoleDbname"* is not getting started, which could be the issue.
    Can someone please guide me what can be done to fix this problem.

    Hi Naveen,
    What you are doing is not supported by Oracle. From EM Database Console FAQ (863631.1):
    What action needs to be taken if the hostname or SID of the database server is changed?
    If there is a hostname or SID change for the database server then the database console needs to be recreated. There is no other solution if the hostname or SID is changed other that recreating the database console. All database console configuration files are created under the hostname_sid directory and the configuration files along with the repository keeps reference of the hostname, which is why dbconsole needs to be reconfigured if there is change in hostname/sid.

  • ORACLESERVICESID is not getting started

    Hi Support Team,
    Here iam in desperate need of an instant support from your side. We have installed SAP BI 7.0 on Windows 2003 server with oracle 10g as a database.My Server is not getting started as i found that my ORACLESERVICESID is not in started mode.When iam trying to start the sevice manually it gives an error saying that " Error 1053 : The service did not respond to the start or control request in timeley fashion".
    When iam trying to connect to the database, it gives me an error " ERROR:
    ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error." .
    I have checked the notes no : 441518.We tried re-creating the service again but that too cannot make the server up.
    Kindly assist us in relsoving this issue as it is of Very high priority here.
