Crystal Report Print Control install error
Hi,
I'm trying to manually install the crystal report print control active x file. After righ-clicking to install the printcontrol.inf file, i got the following error message; "The INF you selected does not support this method of installation" Any idea why I could not install?
I am running Windows Vista and have local admin rights.
Thanks in advance.Umm, when I enter the following search terms in the search box at the top right corner of this web page:
print control activex crystal net
I get the following KB:
[1645006 - How to install the Crystal Reports ActiveX Print Control manually?|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bi/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333633343335333033303336%7D.do].
See if that helps. Note that since you do not mention version of CR, the KB may not be specific to your version of CR, but it should point you in the right direction, no matter what the version.

I'm running a 10.2 instance on Solaris, and need to install DB Control on a Windows box for management. What install disk/download does it come from? It's been about a year since I setup DB Control. I thought it was on the companion CD, no?
Here is a good article on the emca command:
The emca tool that is available in 10.2 Database install uses different options than the emca shipped for 10.1. Below is the output from the help file for the 10.2 emca utility:
1. Set the $ORACLE_HOME to the 10.2 Database home.
2. To get a list of options, issue the command: emca -h

Windows Explorer keeps crashing under Win 7 with RH7 and Source Control installed
This is an "informational" thread in case someone experiences the same problems. We installed RH7 on Windows 7 32-bit and accidentally, Robo Source Control was installed, too, although we do not use it. The latter loads three extensions into the shell that caused the Windows Explorer to crash on a regular basis ("Windows Explorer has stopped working"). After deinstallation of Robo Source, the problem seems to be resolved.
I would like to tell you that this problem is an issue with RH8, as well.

OEM Cloud Control install problem
Hello,
I am having trouble installing OEM 12c on my Windows 7 laptop. I currently have an Oracle 11.2.0.1 database and OEM already running. When I do the OEM 12c install I am instructed to remove the OEM repository for the Oracle 11 version.
I did this with the following command:
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop
I got a message stating that the repository drop was successful. I started the OEM 12c install again and received the same message as before saying that the OEM 11 repository needed to be removed.
I am know receiving these messages when I run the emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop command:
CONFIG: Error Message: PRKC-1117 : Failed to delete registry subkey "SOFTWARE\Oracle\SYSMAN\OracleDBConsoleorcl" under key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" on node
", [Access is denied.
and
SEVERE: Can't find file C:\app\BRIECKR1\product\11.2.0\dbhome_4\localhost_orcl\sysman\config\emoms.properties
I can however see this file in Windows Explorer. Does anyone have any ideas about this problem?
Thanks,

12c Cloud Control Install : plug-in MDS Schema Configuration has failed its
Anyone,
I am trying to install Oracle 12c Cloud Control (CC). I am installing this product on the

I have successfully installed the CC software and am having problems with the configuration.
I am running this command:

In the linux window I get the following feedback. Note the "divide by zero" error.
Does anyone know what causes this, and better yet, how to avoid it?

For complete disclosure, the Enterprise Manager prerequisite checks yielded these findings:
id_check_session_cached_cursors_param ==> fail
id_check_open_cursors_param ==> fail
But I think the check is wrong. I do not understand why the check fails on only these initialization parameters:
1* select name, value from v$parameter where name in ('session_cached_cursors','open_cursors')
SYS@OTMDX07>/
NAME VALUE
session_cached_cursors 1000
open_cursors 1000
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
JohnJohn,
I note that your database version is 12.1.0.0.1 - 64bit Beta, which is not certified for EM 12c. This may have something to do with the repository creation failure. Can you try using a certified database version (e.g. 11.2.0.2 or 11.2.0.3) to host the EM 12c repository?

How to move an OEM grid control install?
oem: 10.2.0.5
Redhat: 5
our oem server is going to be taken away and used for something else. we want to clone the oem install and move it. Reinstalling OEM on redhat 5 is difficult. It has to be done at the command line since 10.2.0.1 is not compatible with redhat 5 and we have to upgrade to 10.2.0.5.
if we move the database, and oem install to a new server, what needs to be done with the oem install to make this work? I can get the database started pretty easily. We would have to change IPs around. What files do we have to go into to change IPs?
yes I know we need to reconfigure the agents.in normal situations people who don't have anything positive to say shouldn't say anything at all. you have been a jerk on every forum you have been on for years.
I did read the installation and configuration guide. I don't see anything about how if I install a 10.2.0.1 OEM on linux 5(which is not compatible) and at the command line to make it work, then do a command line upgrade and configure it to 10.2.0.5, is this easy to clone to a new server.
don't respond. if he does can a moderator just delete it? anyway to get him barred from posting in any thread I create? -

Grid Control install on existing DB error
During an attempt to install GridControl on an existing database (10.1.0.3). I get this error:
Your system currently has 2mb of ram. Enterprise Manager using an existing database requires at least 512 of physical memory.
There us plenty of memory on the box. It doesn't continue after checking the OK message. Any suggestions. Its reading the memory wrong.
Bob>
1. Static IP and unique hostname on the network
2. 3G RAM dedicated to the VM ware and sufficient hard disk space
Assuming that the above 2 factors are taken care of, are there any other parameters to consider.
Hi Krishna,
These two are sufficient and you can go ahead for installation.

Installing Grid Control on uncertified CentOS system
I'm trying to install Grid Control 10g on a CentOS machine. I realize that centos is not supported, but isn't there a way to get around the dependency checks?
I already tried the hack of adding "redhat-5" to the [Certified Versions] section of the oraparam.ini file (as outlined here: Re: Oracle 10g won't isntall on Enterprise Lunix OS ) and that gets me past the initial check, but eventually the install fails with the following:
./runInstaller -silent -responseFile=/u01/app/oracle/software/grid/em_with_new_db.rsp -waitforcompletion -paramFile /u01/app/oracle/software/grid/oraparam.ini
Performing check for CertifiedVersions
Checking operating system requirements ...
Expected result: One of redhat-3,redhat-4,SuSE-8,SuSE-9
Actual Result: redhat-CentOS release 5 (Final)
Check complete. The overall result of this check is: Failed <<<<
Check complete: Failed <<<<
Problem: Oracle EnterPrise Manager 10gR2 is not certified on the current operating system.
Recommendation: Make sure you are installing the software on the correct platform.Isn't there a way to trick the install into proceeding?Did you ever get Oracle Grid Control installed on your CentOS machine? I am trying to install using the -ignoreSysPrereqs flag, but run into issues during the OMS and AGENT configurations.

Some graphs don't display in OEM Grid Control 10gR5 (10.2.0.5)
A number of the performance graphs (e.g. Top Activity) don't display i.e. there is nothing but if if you right-click in the empty area you get a small pull down with Print, Settings, About Adobde Flash 10.
This has all happend after upgrading to 10.2.0.5. OMS and client environment is:
Windows 2003 SP2 (32 bit), IE 6 with Flash ActiveX 10, Flash Player 10.
Anyone got any ideas or anyone got it working fine.
Thanks.Windows Server 2008 OEM 11g Performance graphs do not display.
Click OEM Performance Tab and IE7 information bar displays message:
"Your security setting do not allow websites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer. This page may not display correctly."
Workaround: Disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration in Windows Server 2008
Unlike with previous versions of Windows Server in which you could disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration by removing the component in Add/Remove Programs, Windows Components
the Windows Server 2008 implementation of Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration is configured through Server Manager.
Select the root of the Service Manager navigation pane, and under the Server Summary click Configure IE ESC, which is part of the Security Information section.
A dialog box appears, letting Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration be enabled/disable separately for normal users and administrators.

BeatsAudio missing/replaced after Installing Windows 8.1
Hi,
When I bought my laptop (HP Pavilion 15-p044tu) it had Windows 7 installed. Also, BeatsAudio controler installed. Then I installed Windows 8.1 64bit (clean install, not upgrade from 7) and it required a full format of my HDD. So all the drives got erased including the one which had Driver & OS Backup stored.
After Installing win8.1, I went to HP support page for my laptop and manually downloaded the drivers (Including Audio drivers) from there. Please note that, some of the drivers were installed automatically by windows and there is no "unkown device" showing in my device manager's "other devices" tree.
The problem I'm facing is that there is no BeatsAudio interface anywhere. It's been replaced by "Realtek HD audio". Even in the control panel where there was a Beats Icon, there is a realtek icon now. I've searched other forums where they've suggested installing IDT audio driver which will bring back Beats but there is no such driver on my laptop driver page. I've tried the windows 7 drivers but got no positive result. Also I've tried installing IDT drivers from different laptop models from different windows version but it says, "Hardware detected is not supported by this IDT Audio Driver" & stops installation process.
I've also tried installing it in safe mode, but got same result. Note that my audio is working as normal with realtek, but the soun is lower than before. I just need the beats audio back.
Please help me out with this issue. I've searched your forum but didn't get any solution (just different IDT drivers which resulted the same thing).
Waiting for a reply.
Thanks.
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hi,
The beats audio interface is provided by the audio software installer - this can be IDT or Realtek depending on the hardware.
Try the following.
Download the Realtek Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66001-66500/sp66107.exe
When done, hold down the Windows key and press R. Into the Run window type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
Expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the Realtek device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66001-66500/sp66094.exe
When the reinstallation has completed, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Let Windows fully load - it may automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the Realtek Audio installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again and let Windows fully load for a couple of minutes before trying to launch the Beats interface from Windows control panel.

DP-K

Configuring Grid Control on 10g R2
Hi
Current Envt : Oracle 8.1.7/Win NT.
We are going migrate to 10g R2 ,
In the current 8i environment, we have a EM database which manages RMAN backups of a couple of Other databases.
And we monitor these backup jobs through this Enterprise Manager 2.2.
Also, using this OEM 2.2, iam able to monitor all the existing databases .
Coming to 10g R2 (10.2.0.1)
i realized that Enterpise Manager (web based) is only for a single instance.
And i read some where that 10g Grid Control would be helpful for multiple databases.
and how to access the Grid Control..and configure multiple databases on it.
Currently, i installed Grid Control 10.1.0.5 by giving the path as
E:\app\oracle\product\10.2\em_1
However, iam not able to figure as how to bring up the Grid Control.
I wanted to know if someone can provide the steps on how to install (if i have been doing anything wrong ?
Whether while installing i have to give the same $ORACLE_HOME as with the database ?
I also tried the same way as regular DBcosole ie., http://localhost:port/em
In addition, while creating the DB using DBCA, i selected the Grid Control Option.
Please suggest as how to proceed further.
ThanxSee comments below:

And i read some where that 10g Grid Control would be

giving the path as

However, iam not able to figure as how to bring up
the Grid Control.
I wanted to know if someone can provide the steps on
how to install (if i have been doing anything wrong
Whether while installing i have to give the same

I also tried the same way as regular DBcosole ie.,
http://localhost:port/em
You probably didn't install the DBconsole.

In addition, while creating the DB using DBCA, i
selected the Grid Control Option.
For this option to work, you need to have Grid Control operational. First start with selecting only DBConsole...this way you can manage your database. After you get Grid Control installed and the agent is working properly, you can stop the DBConsole service and use Grid Control to manage your target database.
