DB Partition on windows environment

Dear Expert,
I am trying to add a database partition server on our BI server using db2ncrt command. The logical partition was created on the same db instance (one machine).
The issue appears when running the following command:
E:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>db2ncrt /n:2 /i:DB2_01 /o:ides01 /g:10.2.1.54 /u:DB2ADMIN,tds123
The message is:
DBI1918N  An error occurred when accessing the Windows NT registry.
Explanation:
DB2 encountered an error when attempting to read or update the Windows
NT registry of the target machine.
User response:
Ensure that the current logon user account has sufficient authority to
access the Windows NT registry of the target machine. If the problem
persists, contact your IBM service representative for assistance.
Please assist me to fix the above issue.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Rudi

I used DB2 control center to add database partition, however the following error showed up:
SQL1042C  An unexpected system error occurred.
Explanation:
A system error occurred. Some possible reasons for this error are:
The database manager is not installed correctly or the environment is
   not set up correctly.
On UNIX-based systems, db2iupdt may need to be run in order to update
the DB2 instance to enable acquisition of a new system configuration
or access to function associated with the installation or removal of
certain product options, FixPaks, or modification levels.
The command cannot be processed.
User response:
To update the instance to acquire a configuration or access to
   function run DB2IUPDT <InstName>.
If the error occurred while trying to connect to a database, get a
trace (instructions below) and call IBM support.
If the problem falls outside of the above suggestions, ensure that the
system time and date is correctly set, and make sure your system has
enough memory and swapping/paging space available.
Resubmit the current command.
If the error continues, stop the database manager and restart it.
If the error still continues, reinstall the database manager.
If trace was active, invoke the Independent Trace Facility at the
operating system command prompt. Contact your technical service
representative with the following information:
Required information:
Problem description
SQLCODE or message number
SQLCA contents if possible
Trace file if possible.
Federated system users: if necessary isolate the problem to the data
source rejecting the request (see the Troubleshooting Guide for
procedures to follow to identify the failing data source). If the
problem is with a data source follow the problem determination
procedures for that data source.
sqlcode: -1042
sqlstate: 58004
Please advice.
Thanks and Regards,
Rudi

  • Factory recovery partition on windows 8 in Asus X551CALaptop

I purchased Asus x551CA notebook on 22nd Feb 2014. After about 45 days I formated hard disk partition
on which Activated Windows 8 operating systme was installed.I formatted an repartitioned HDD.
And I installed and uninstalled windows8 and windows 8.1 90 days enterprise evaluation edition. Because of
these link to factory recovery partition is broken.
I have created system image disks which are working to restore system. I forgot how I created these disks. May be
I did control panel>recovery>file history>windows 7 file recovery. So these disks should be System Image Backup.
I think these are not OEM recovery disks. When I insert these disks during reset and refresh I get a message
that "Media you inserted is not valid". And I am able to create system image on second partition of hard disk of
my laptop.I have also got product key of windows 8 by a program jellybean keyfinder.
To restore from discs created by me. I insert a repair disc then I go to UEFI settings. Then I change boot preferences to
boot from DVD. Then I go to Restore form images. Then computer asks me to insert my discs no from 1 to 4. One after the other. Then computer restore to windows 8. It looks alike as it was factory made.
-When I try to create a recovery drive by going to control panel> Recovery >create a recovery drive
Recovery drive dialog box appears but with grayed check box of "copy the recovery partition from PC
to the recovery drive". Please tell me how can it come with not grayed dialog box so that I can copy
recovery partition to USB pen drive? When notebook was new this check box was not grayed and I was able to
copy recovery partition on USB pen drive.
-Since I cannot copy recovery partition to USB therefore I also cannot reset and refresh windows 8 on
the basis of USB. It was working when notebook was new.
-And reset or refresh also not working on the basis of hidden recovery partition. How can it will start
working? It was working when notebook was new.
-I have tried diskpart command do make hidden recovery partition visible. But it becomes invisible
after restart. I used following command
    1. Command Prompt Run as administer.
    2. diskpart
    3. list disk
    4. select disk 0
    5. list partition
    6. select partition 6
    7. assign letter z
by these commands hidden recovery partition becomes visible and again when I restart laptop it becomes invisible.
And I am not able to do anything with recovery partition E.G. copy the recovery partition to USB
When I created a system image using the following command I became able to refresh my PC. May be it was refreshing
on the basis of newly created image.
    recimg /createimage D:\IMAGE81
    recimg /setcurrent D:\IMAGE81
But it is also not working this time and it gives a message "Drive on which windows is installed is locked unlock it".
May because I installe AVG antivirus it locked the drive.
    I also used REAgentC command
    reagentc /setreimage /path F:\Recovery\WindowsRE\ /target C:\Windows /bootkey 4300
Maybe I executed above command once again I used D: instead of F:
And I was able to refresh PC but I was not able to Reset. And I was not able to copy recovery partition on USB
by going to control panel> Recovery >create a recovery drive.
Recovery drive dialog box appears but with grayed check box of "copy the recovery partition from PC
    to the recovery drive".
((I am giving images of computer management in first_image no partition was created it was in factory made state. And
in second_Image I created an extra disk partition which is present on disk this time.)) I cannot give images because
of my account is not varified.
So I am giving output of diskpart command to understand disk partitions.
    C:\>diskpart
    DISKPART> list disk
Disk ###    Status        Size      Free     Dyn     Gpt
    Disk 0      Online        465 GB    1024 KB           *

Volume ###  Ltr   Label               Fs       Type           Size    Status          Info
    Volume 0        E                                      DVD-ROM     0 B       No Media
Volume 1        C     OS                  NTFS   Partition    186 GB   Healthy      Boot
Volume 2        D     DATA              NTFS   Partition    130 GB   Healthy
Volume 3        F     DOWNLOADS  NTFS   Partition    128 GB   Healthy
Volume 4               SYSTEM          FAT32  Partition   100 MB   Healthy      System
Volume 5               Recovery        NTFS   Partition    900 MB   Healthy      Hidden
Volume 6               Restore          NTFS   Partition     20 GB    Healthy      Hidden
in the beginnig instead of D: (130 GB) and F:(128 GB) there was only one partition D:(258 GB) 130+128 GB.
Please tell me answers of following quesions:-
    1. Tell me how to regain the link to factory recovery drive.
    2. Please tell me how can I refresh and reset PC on the basis of Hidden Factory Recovery Partition. And how can I copy Hidden Factory Recovery Partition on USB and DVDs. I have 16GB USB pen drive and a DVD writer. So I can use these two storage media
only and except these I have 500GB HDD on my laptop.
    4. I want to know that Factory recovery partition is useful or not. Should I delete it.
    3. I have DVDs as I said above. On the basis of these I can reinstall windows 8. When I created these discs windows 8 was present on laptop. Currently windows 8.1 is present on laptop. Please tell me how can I create my own hidden recovery partition for
windows 8. I have upgraded to windows 8.1. So please tell me can I create my own hidden recovey partition for windows 8.1.
    5. Can I download contents of factory recovery partition from internet.
    6. Should I go to shopkeeper. He repairs computers as well. Probably he will manage for me to get Recovery partition discs. In this case these DVDs may be different from my DVDs as I mentioned above. Maybe only thing I get from these discs that I will
able to reset and refresh computer.
    7. Microsoft shoult create a program that can re-establish link to factory recovery partition. And this program should be able to create new hidden recovery partition as well. As I have upgraded to windows 8.1. So I think I should have a new hidden recovery partition
for Windows 8.1. I think I can above thing my other way. If I create new set of DVDs by going to control panel>recovery>   file history>System Image Backup. It will create discs for windows 8.1. And I will able to restore system to windows
8.1 by these discs. And for windows 8 I have already discs. But these discs will only work by changing boot options(by choosing UEFI) and image recovery. And reset and refresh functions will not work then in such situation factory recovery partition
will become useless. Then such situation I should delete factory recovery partition as it is useless.
    8. At beginnign I also tried AI recovery burner. After trying it for 2-3 days I came to know that AI recovery burner is not for windows 8. There should be a tutorial for these thing so that people like me not waste their time.

I used a software named UNDELETE on my hidden recovery partition to recover it. I get some files by this software. Important thing is that I got a 2.84 GB file named 00eebc9d.rb in dir D:\recovered1\Files Detected by their Signatures\Unknown Application\.rb.
This file may be useful. Please suggest me how can I use these files to reset and refresh my OS. I used some dir commands as follows to get list of these files:
    dir /s >f:\list.txt
    dir /s /a:s >f:\list2.txt
Some files were system files so these file were not shown by first dir command. So I used second dir command.
    Output of dir /s >f:\list.txt
Volume in drive D is DATA

  • Bursting control file for Printer not working in WINDOWS ENVIRONMENT

    Hi,
We are trying to print xml publisher report output (PDF) using bursting control file. Is not wokring.
We are using ebs (R12.1.1) on Windows environment.
Any pre-requisite setup (ie. cups config) should be done before printing using control file. Please guide me i am not having knowledge in printer setup and printer part..
    Thanks in advance
    --Ben

    Hi Hussein,
Yes, I am able to print seed concurrent report (o/p -text) to that printer (method:- giving the printer name and copies by clicking " Option " in SRS window.. )
When i do the same for xml publisher publisher report to the same printer , its not working using bursting control file.
I too made the test in xml publisher report without bursting control file , there i faced another new issue. Let me explain
    1. We are using RDF as data source . here o/p :-" XML "
    2. We are using RTF as layout. In template definition, i chose the default o/p type as :- "HTML"
    3. When i submit the request, i choose the printer which is working fine for printing seeded report. (method:- giving the printer name and copies by clicking " Option " in SRS window.. )
    4. My printer getting prints HTML tag, instead of desired o/p. I wondered after seeing the printout.
    5. I cross checked by clicking view output, its showing me the exact html output as per RTF layout.
Dont know wat happening ??? Help me out.
i did the same for changing default output type in template definition to RTF,PDF.. its printing source code of the output type instead of printing output.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • How to delete unused, no drive letter assigned, partitions in Windows 8.1 Pro

    Hi,
My drive partitions are assigned as below within "Computer Management" > "Disk Management":
(screenshot not allowed from my account, for some reason).
Volume   Layout    Type    File System    Status
    Capacity              FreeSpace    %Free
    <blank> Simple     Basic   <blank>        Healthy(Recovery Part.)    300MB
    300MB        100%
    <blank> Simple     Basic   <blank>        Healthy(Recovery Part.)    99MB
    99MB          100%
    3TB (E:)  Simple     Basic     NTFS            Healthy(Recovery Part.)   3000 GB
    2000 GB      81%
SSD(C:)  Simple     Basic     NTFS           Healthy(Recovery Part.)     465 GB
    78 GB       17%
I want to remove/delete the 2 partitions, Recovery Partition & EFI System Partition, to the left of the C: Partition on Disk 1.
However when I right click on either partition I'm unable to do anything ("Recovery" only shows help in right click menu, "EFI System" shows full right click menu however everything but the help option is greyed out).
I've also looked around and tried the diskpart command from an Administrative command line. However having tried:
    >diskpart
    >rescan
    >list disk
I can only see the 2 main partitions (3TB/SSD) on both Disc 0 & 1. Leaving me unable to assign drive letters/delete/etc.
    Help !

    Hi,
Why do you want to delete the two partitions?
Actually, they are not unused, they are managed by PC. Each bootable drive must contain an ESP. The computer will boot to the Extensible Firmware Interface System Partition (EFI System Partition, or ESP).
The recovery partition is  Windows RE tools partition.

The largest capacity HDD that you can install is the HGST 1.5 TB HDD:

Any 2.5" 9.5mm thick SATA HDD will fit and operate in your MBP, regardless of capacity.

  • How to have two partitions in windows 7 using bootcamp?

    Hello everybody,
I've just recently bought a new MacBook Pro, I'm not very familirar with Macintosh. I installed windows 7 using bootcamp but the problem is that I just can see one partition in which I've installed windows.
actually, I want to partition my 500GB disk to three different partitions as following:
    1) 70GB for Mac
    2) 80GB for Windows
    3) 350GB for Data
so that I can have third partition both in Mac and Win.
I searched internet and I found a few documents about it and I followed the instructions but I had no luck of success. one of the instructions I tried is: http://davidseah.com/index-ee.php/wikilab/Creating-2-Windows-Partitions-with-Boo t-Camp/
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

1: Those instructions at the link are severely outdated. Don't use them.
2: Apple expects users to have one Bootcamp partition, one OS X Lion partition and that's it and that's all they are going to hold your hand on.
(note: there is also a hidden EFI and a Lion Recovery Partition also on the drive.)
Anything beyond that is getting into major geek terror-tory.
Of course it's possible, I had my 15" with 7 partitions and booting 4 other operating systems from Lion, Snow, Windows, Linux (with a Linux Swap and a exFAT data). But I had to wipe the entire drive, set up the partitions install a alternate EFI boot program (a program that resides in firrmware) and then install each OS in each partition.
Since your new to Mac, you should really hold onto Apple's hand and use either a external drive formatted either FAT32(MSDOS) for under 4 GB files sizes (preferred) or exFAT for over 4GB files (not preferred but necessary) in Apple's Disk Utility.
Windows is as you know, formatted NTFS and OS X is formatted HFS+ Journaled as their partition data formats.
There is software for Windows called MacDrive which will read and write HFS format, and there is software from Tuxera that will allow OS X to read NTFS format.
There is a security issue allowing Windows to read HFS, but that should do transferring the small amount of files your going to be using in both operating systems.
OS X, like Windows, is going to expect files to be in each respective User folders of Music, Pictures and so forth when you open save dialog boxes, open finder windows, open certain programs and so forth. So ideally it's not best to share a partition or really have the user data on another partition at all.
I know it's a practice on Windows machines to partition data away from boot/programs to reduce defragmentation, on OS X it's not as necessary (except in special cases) as all 2GB sized files and below are written to one space on the drive (if there is room of course)
Windows 7 still needs to be defragged, however it can be schedualed and you can watch the progress. If you install WIndows, perform all the updates, then install programs, then finally any files you do keep there, it should stay optimized for a quite awhile. Ditton on the OS X side.
If your going to sharing a grreat quantity of files between the two OS's, use a external drive.
Apple installs a hybrid MBR in the Bootcamp partition for Windows to use to interact with the GUID partition table (GPT) it uses.

You may have to see about using the Recovery HD partition to attempt to erase and restore useful function of the capacity lost to the former Windows installation.
And you may have to backup your contents outside the computer to do it. Disk Utility on the Mac OS X historically has not been able to touch a BootCamp created partition; so if BootCamp cannot remove it, then you have to see how to do the equivalent of a reformat of the entire drive (less Recovery partition?) then reinstall your OS X. Maybe from internet recovery, then get your applications, etc from the Mac App store, etc.
A complete system clone of your OS X on an external HDD would be another method to restore after reformat, of the portion you want whole again, not necessarily the space where Recovery may live.
    There may be (an)other way(s).
    Perhaps someone with recent experience
in this matter can reply & discuss options.
With my antiques, they almost know what I want before I tell them.
Hopefully yours will after you talk to it awhile.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Boot camp how to delete osx and merge partitions for  windows 7?

Im installing windows 7 through boot camp but without a dvd. Im using a installer from my university. I can only install it on a partition becouse i dont have the disc. It is done over the network. I have tried deleting the mac osx partition in windows and expanding the windows one, but osx is on the left of windows so it will not expand. Is there any way possible to delete osx and expand a windows partition to the entire drive? i know its not possible in windows but mabye some third party tool. I would preffer it to be free but anything is less than the 200 dollors i would have to spend getting another liscense.

Thanks again for replying, but I dont think you understand. I have boot camp assistant and all drivers installed. I will explain a little further why i can not do xy&z. This is my installations process.
    1.  I go to campus and plug in my computer to the schools ethernet.
    2. Login to the university's server and download the university's custom bootcamp installer.
3.My university's custom installer creates a partition on my mac and images that partition over the network with windows 7.
    4. The whole time ive never seen a dvd, iso, or microsoft, apple anything. Its all done automatically and i have no option of downloading the image myself and doing it manually.
    5. I create a account and password in windows and im stuck with windows on a partition on my mac.
So as you see above i dont have a dvd to pop in my computer or the ability to create one in order to delete the hdd and install windows only.
I need a way of deleting osx after windows is already installed. Becouse osx is to the left of windows in windows disc management this is(for all i can figure) impossible with just a repair disc, disc utility, and windows disc management. Im looking for a possible third part tool that can accompilsh this.
I even tried making a image in windows and re imaging with a repair disc, Low and behold, windows recreated the evil partition with a 190 unalocated gigabites of space to the left of windows. i wanted to pull my eyes out.

  • Cannot access Mac OS Partition from windows 8 running in boot camp

So I installed Windows 8.1 Pro through Boot Camp but I can't access the Mac OS partition from windows even though boot camp partition shows up while I'm on Mac OS. I have installed all the drivers from apple but still it didn't work. Then I downloaded Paragon HFS+ which was free for windows 8 and 8.1 thinking that this would solve my problem. The instructions told me to change the drive letter for mac partition from disk management by right clicking the drive pressing "change drive letter and path" button. But the "change drive letter and path" key in grey color and I can't press it. Can somebody please help?

  • How can I partition my external hard drive supporting mac OS in one partition and windows OS in another?

Hello everyone, how can I partition my external hard drive supporting mac OS in one partition and windows OS in another?

    OK. Start with:
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to two (2). Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Click on the Erase tab in DU's main window. Select one of the two partitions, preferably the first one, change the Format type: to MSDOS then click on the Erase button.

  • Is it possible to resize a mac partition from windows?

Here's what's going on. I originally wanted to use Disk Utility to do this, which is clearly the easy way to do things, but my computer is so slow that Disk Utility immediately becomes unresponsive upon wanting to resize -any- partition. The windows side works fine though, it isn't slow as crap. Is there a way to resize the mac partition from windows (HFS+)? Any possible way? Even crazy ones? I'm open to suggestions.
Oh yeah, and in case you want to know...my Mac Mini just randomly started getting really, really slow, so slow in fact, that now my old iMac from 1999 is faster (it doesn't even have ANY RAM!). I tried resetting the PRAM/NVRAM, multiple times, booting into safe mode takes forever, but I left it for awhile and it finished. Almost worked, the finder showed up quicker than usual, but then it reverted back to it's slow self again once I opened Disk Utility. I tried booting into single user mode and typing /sbin/fsck -fy, and it's so slow, that it couldn't even do that! It got stuck at checking libraries or something, for hours, and i could type things in still, but it wouldn't recognize any commands (ie fsk - fy). I also cannot replace the RAM because it is an older mac mini and those things are hard as f*** to repair, trust me, i've tried. The weirdest part of all of this has to be that this is the computer that we DON'T download many apps onto, so it most likely isn't bloatware, adware, a virus or something else. We download most stuff to our MacBook, and go to the sketchy websites on it as well (it really should be the other way around, the mac mini would be around 3x less expensive to replace, it's just that it's the family computer). And that's always slow, but this surpassed it (btw, the laptop is a year or so older). I do not have the installation disk.
Can someone help? Mainly about the first thing...please. The second thing is hopeless, I will need to get a new computer pretty soon, and these macs don't last as long as they used to I guess, we'd most likely get a quality Windows PC to replace it, this has been a disappointment. I'm just trying to get a little more life out of it with Linux, maybe a year or two. That's what i've done with my old iMac. Runs GREAT. Especially for a 13 year old computer. The thing is, my folks don't want me to completely eliminate the mac partition even though it's virtually unusuable.

I'm not really understanding what the end goal was. But in case anyone else comes across the thread, neither the built-in Windows volume resizing utility nor any 3rd party Windows resizing utility should be used to resize either the Windows partition or the Mac OS partition. Invariably they all manipulate the NTFS volume in such a way that the secondary GPT is corrupt, the primary GPT is rendered invalid, and only correctly alter the MBR. It's a recipe for data loss.
Conversely, while Disk Utility can resize a Mac OS volume, it cannot resize an NTFS volume. With Lion and Mountain Lion, upon using Boot Camp Assistant there are already four partitions: EFI System, Mac OS, Recovery HD, and Windows. There is no more room for a fifth partition in the MBR partition scheme, and if you try to add one, Disk Utility will apparently let you and render Windows unbootable (because Disk Utility adds the fifth partition to the GPT, but can't add it to the MBR, and instead removes the hybrid MBR needed for Windows support and replaces it with a PMBR.)
So in effect this is not to be done except with 3rd party utilities.

  • Is it possible to make a partition in Windows 7 and then place OS X on that partition?

My employer just gave me a new MBP 13" with Windows 7 on it.  It has bootcamp running, but no option to boot in Mac OS.  IT dept. said they deleted Mac OSX Lion due to security concerns (?).  In any case, as I travel quite a bit and have and ipad and iphone, I would like to use Mac OSX for personal use and Windows 7 for work.
Is it possible to make a partition in Windows 7 and then place Mac OSX Lion on the partition so that I do not need to reinstall Windows?   I know it would be possible to wipe the HDD and then add Mac OS, then bootcamp, then Windows 7, but adding again would get my IT dept involved which would put me back to square one.
    Any help would be appreciated!!
    JF

Ok let me ask you IF the IT department of your workplace does NOT want OS X installed on "THEIR" (The Companies) computers because of what they think is some type of security issue why are you trying to go against their wishes and install OS X on a computer that is NOT owned by you.
That could cost you your job.
If you continue down this path you will screw up the Windows install and have to take the system back to the IT department to get it fixed. What do you think they will say at that point?
Do as you like but you would be better off just buying your own Mac computer if you are set on using OS X as your personal operating system.
