DB size for HA replication

Do you have any recommendation on the db file size for the HA replication?
Let say I have 2TB of bekeley DB size. How long does it replicate to the slave? When a new node is added to the group, how long is to replicate 2TB of data?
Also If I want to refresh the DB, what are the options. Like, I want to clean up the Berkeley DB files and recreate a new 2TB file on the master. How does it impact the slaves?
Is there any other way to do the DB refresh?
Is Berekley DB a good solution for this kind of use case?

Hello,
Berkeley DB replication is log-based. Everytime data is changed on the master, the log records are sent to the replicas. Replicas apply the log records to the data in order to stay current with the master. So, during normal operation, the rate of change at the master determines the performance of replication - the higher the rate of change, the more the processing required.
If you want to add a new replica, then there are two options you have:
You can take a recent backup of the data from the master, restore it on the newly added replica and then "add" the replica to the HA group - the master will detect that a new replica has been added, it will start sending it log records and the replica will catch up (become current) and then come "online". We call this mechanism "internal init".
A second choice is for the new replica to request data from the master over the network. The amount of time it takes to transfer data from master to new replica will depend on available network bandwidth etc.
For a 2 TB file, I'd suspect that the former approach might work better (restore from recent backup).

If you want to "refresh" the master, you could gracefully shutdown the master (BDB HA would automatically transfer mastership to an existing replica), refresh the master, and then bring it back online.
In order to do this correctly, you need to make sure that there are enough replicas, so the election of the new master can happen correctly (needs a quorum).
So, assuming that you use Berkeley DB HA the way it was designed, I'd venture to say that BDB is a good solution for the use-case you've described. Of course, the more detail you provide on your use case, the better we can assist you.
I'd encourage you to read the HA documentation to understand internal init, online addition of a new replica, elections etc.

DFSR - This member is waiting for initial replication for replicated folder SYSVOL Share - How long should it take?

Yesterday we were forced to perform a non-authoritative sync of the SYSVOL folder as replication had stopped because one of the DCs had been disconnected from it's replication partner for more than 60 days (caused by a unexpected shutdown and we did not
pick up on the fact replication had stopped until now).
I performed the non-authoritative sync of the SYSVOL folder and now the folder is in state 2
ReplicatedFolderName ReplicationGroupName State
SYSVOL Share Domain System Volume 2
and has been for more than 12 hours. The DFS replication health report, reports "This member is waiting for initial replication for replicated folder SYSVOL Share".
How long should it take and is there anyway to force it so that replication can resume?

I'm fairly sure it's not tombstoned. Here is the DCDIAG output:

Eveything is passing, except for the bits about the SystemLog and DFRS, all seems good to me.
Event 2213 is in the logs. I will look and changing the MaxOfflineTimeInDays and see if that gets it going.

Set Maximum size for a subpanel created with splitter bars in LV8

Does anyone know how to set the Maximum size for a subpanel created with asplitter bar? If I show one cluster in the subpanel and use the scroll bar to scroll, I can see more (blank) area than I want. I just want the user to be able to scroll a cluster within a subpanel while the cluster is larger than the view area of the subpanel. I don't want to let the user scroll outside the cluster.

How does one change the font size for folders and/or file lists in the Bookmarks Library?

How does one change the font size for folders and/or file lists in the '''Bookmarks''' Library?
Since the upgrade to version 9.0.1 of Firefox, the Bookmarks feature changes are confusing me. They seem to be confusing themselves as well. The list of bookmarks has changed. The font size is so small that my aging eyes cannot read it without fogging the screen with my breath. Some folders are out of alphabetical order (where I know they were previously good), and some are missing altogether (folders to which I frequently add references).
As for missing or deranged files or folders, was there something that I should have done or now need to do to recover those after the upgrade (or before)?
With regard to font size,
1. there is no “Edit Bookmarks” or like option to edit the list in this version
2. the “zoom” option in the “view” list of functions is greyed out when in “Show All Bookmarks” window
3. expanding the browser window has no effect on font size
4. “Preferences” settings for font size has no effect in that window either, including advanced settings
5. “Help” offers none that I can find.
Can any of you Help?!?

Limitation on Service size for deploying

Is there any limitation on Service size for deploying? The size of my service is 5MB approx. and I am not able to migrate it through Catalog deployer as well as Exporting and Importing file.

Advice on sequence settings - frame size for VHS video in FCP

Hello,
I was hoping that I could get some advice on editing and output for video captured from VHS Tapes to ensure the best quality possible.
My current workflow to digitize the VHS tapes is:
VHS signal from JVC S7600u with TBC into ADVC 300 (no de-interlace or other filters set) into a Mac Pro via firewire. Capture preset in FCP is DV NTSC 48khz.
Once in FCP - the captured VHS video frame size is 720 X 480, Vid rate is 29.97, pixel aspect is NTSC-CCIR 601 and field dominance is lower (even)
My questions are:
If my final destination is for You Tube sharing , are these the best sequence/ frame size settings or should I convert the sequence frame size to 640 X 480, or should I leave at 720 X 480 while working in FCP and then output to Compressor and select the H264 you tube sharing video setting and change the frame size to 640 X 480?
Should I de- interlace for internet/youtube destination?
Should I de-interlace for DVD/TV destination?
If I want to burn the finished project to DVD and watch the video on a progressive montitor/ TV screen, what would be the best settings/frame size for that?
If any of you out there have experience with editing vcr/analog video in FCP and have a good workflow to ensure best quality, I would really appreciate any advice/suggestions.

Digitize to 720X480 frame size in FCP. In compressor, your YouTube preset will automatically deinterlace and a square pixel aspect ratio.No deinterlacing for DVD.

In Tiger you could have a unique window size for the day view, week view, and month view. Is this option gone with Leopard? I liked viewing my day, week, and month in different size windows just by clicking on the buttons and having it go to that view.

For this u hav to go to the infopackage scheduler........
If u r in Process chain >> Right click on the infopackage >> Maintain variant..........then it will come to the IP scheduler..................In the Top Scheduler Tab >> Click on it and select DataS. Default data transfer .......Now there may be a delta IP and Full upload IP for the same datasource.......check ur IP .....it is full or delta..........if full change the packet size for full upload..............otherwise for delta upload........
If the IP is not a part of any Process chain..........then go to RSA1 >> Find the IP..........and double click on it........then the IP scheduler screen will open..........
You can make global settings for all datasources...... in the transaction SBIW in the area General Settings >> Maintain control Parameter for Data transfer......... The parameters that you maintain here are valid as global standard values, and thus apply to all DataSources.

How to change font size for certain domains in Safari

I want to increase the font size for a few websites that have font's sizes I can't read. I already use a CSS file that changes my link colors so I can modify that files if that helps.
Here's a website I need to change http://www.boxofficeguru.com/weekend.htm. Whenever I go to this page I have to increase the font size and when I go to a different site I have to make the font size smaller. Any ideas?

If there are really only a few sites that you have problems with, just go to the site, and click the Command key along with the plus key. This will temporarily increase the size of the type.
Command and the minus(-) key makes type smaller. These commands will work on a per site basis.

It's that interger "12" that's determines the size. Adjust it until you're happy—provided that it's an interger.
I actually go with "HelveticaNeue" with a size of 11. I like to see lots of tabular information at once, horizontally, without changing my resolution… within reason, e.g. Fiona Apple album titles still have ellipses.
An unfortunate aspect to this is that the row height isn't altered unless the font size specified is greater than 12—the font takes the row height along for the ride when it's bigger, but the row doesn't come along for the ride when the font gets smaller. It's likely you could change the minimum row height to be lower, in some other plist—search for something like "list contents (small)" or "list (small)" or whatever—but I don't know where that would be found, or if it could be found at all.
Nonetheless, this should address your query.

Dear Experts,
In what scenarios, we need to use or configure the PI settings for vendor replication between MM and SUS? The SAP configuration guide for SRM 7.01 mentions about the PI settings for vendor replication from ECC to SUS.
However, we are able to replicate the vendor from ECC to SUS using the program BBPGETVD in SUS client?
In what circumstances, we need to configure the PI settings for vendor replication when we are able to do so in a much simpler way?

Hi Ranjan,
In all circumstances you need to replicate vendors from MM to SUS via PI. BBPGETVD is not the right way to replicate vendors to SUS because the information like vendor class, assignment of this vendor class to an object and the vendor classification cannot be transferred via BBPGETVD.
Hence you will have to use PI. You can try sending a PO from MM to SUS and the PO will fail in SUS with a message like 'Vendor not present in SUS' if you use BBPGETVD.
