DB size increment in upgrade

Hi all
I worked with SAP version 2007 and some days ago I did the upgrade to version 8.8. The size of my DB was around 23.9Gb and after the upgrade is around 27.5Gb. This is normal? I think is too much.

is the size a sum of primary data file and log file ? if it is total of mdf and ldf file, checked if the log file is also contributed to the db size increment. If yes, just shrink the ldf file or detach the db after all users log out, delete the log file and then attaching the mdf file. If the attaching window info said that the ldf doesn't avalaible, just remove it. System will automatically create new ldf file.
prior to detach, just backup your db first

Pages 5 - Up/Down Arrow Margin Size Increment Change

Hi All   -   Couldn't find another relevant post so starting this (please point out if another relevant post exists)
Problem: Changing Margin Size in Small Increments
I have Pages units set to points (pts)
In Pages 09 in the Inspector clicking on up/down arrows changed margin size by 1pt increments   (ie a single unit increment)
In Pages 5 clicking on the up/down arrows changes the margin size by 18pt increments ! huh?
Anyone know a way to make P5 change the margin size by single unit increments?   I've tried Shift, Alt, Command, Ctrl etc but makes no difference.
Seems the only way to change by 1pt is to highlight and type in the new value and hit enter. and then repeat to try 1pt different, and repeat to try etc etc - mindblowingly frustratingly when i want to quickly check out the doc layout at 6 or 7 slightly different margin sizes. And the reason I'm immediate moving back to Pages 09.
The margins in P5 can be found at:   Setup (cog wheel) > Document pane > Document Margins
Large size increment jumps happen whether units are set to pts, cms or ins.
I'm on Mavericks (which i think P5 requires anyway)

After looking at other people's posts, I think it's official: there is a bug. Itunes support said I should not have lost the drag/drop tool and I haven't on the laptop that is running itunes 10.4 and operating system 10.6.8. I chatted with someboby who lost both his drag/drop and side scroll and what we have in common is a wacom tablet for a mouse. My laptop is a wireless mouse. I reinstalled whatever updated driver that wacom has out there, shut the system down for night, hoping for magic, but alas none to be had. So if I want to change song order, I network the laptop and desktop, share the screen on the laptop, drag and drop to my heart's content and curse Apple for making me work this hard to find the tool that was once at my fingertips. Apple also let me know that if I want to share songs in household that the hundreds on songs that were purchased for .99 need to be repurchased for another .30. Maybe Apple is holding my drag/drop tool captive til I pay up the money or Maybe the next update will fix the problem, I for one give up for now.

Why does PDF Optimizer no longer reduce size after CS4 upgrade?

I've been able to successfully reduce the size of the PDFs created from my Illustrator files for years using Advanced> PDF Optimizer in Acrobat Pro. Upgraded to CS4 last week. Now it seems to have reduced everything, but the files are still huge. When I check Space Audit 96% or more is taken up by "piece information".
I've tried changing the Adobe PDF presets, the Document Raster Effects settings, and outlining all text in Illustrator to see if that made a difference. Nothing. The frustrating thing is i've done this for years with no problem. HELP?!?!

Hi, I've found the solution because today it happened to me as well.
Just go to "PDF Optimizer", then click to "Discard user data" and finally to
"Discard private data from other applications": in this way you delete any
information left by Illustrator and your file's size will get reduced.

How to query the tablespace size increment speed?

Hello,
Do you have any directions or ideas on how to know the tablespace size increments history. or how to know the frequency of tablespace size increment.
when I went into new database, I never managed this database before, i want to know the tabelspace size increments speed for do the reasonable space extend.
so could you please give us a guide thanks!

Cannot change dock size after Yosemite upgrade

Ever since upgrading to Yosemite, my dock is large and seemingly fixed in size at the bottom of my screen. I used to be able to enter System Preferences and change the dock size with the slider. When I do the same thing now, the slider moves but the dock remains frozen at the same large size. The dock seems to function perfectly well in every other way. Help??

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature or scope of the issue you are describing. If you make changes to other settings in the Dock preferences, such as hiding, magnification, position, etc, do these changes take effect, or are they similar to the dock size setting?

Liquify brush size increment sluggish with CS3, Intuos 3/window 7

I have encountered a strange problem with liquify filter using Intuos 3 tablet pen after installing CS3 on my new Window 7 machine.
I always assign the shortcut keystrokes [ and ] to the pen buttons for increaseing/decreaseing the brush size. In my old Vista computer,everything was all good, the brush size changes continously and quickly when i press the buttons. But now the brush size only changes an increment by 1 pixel (should be 10 pixels?) by clicking it once and it no longer increases or decreases the brush size continously by holding the button.
I thought it was Wacom drivers problems but i un-installed and re-installed their latest and oldest drivers and the problem remains. I wonder if it is CS3 glitch with Window 7? I have installed all Adobe updates for CS3. I would be very grateful to any advice.

It is Intuos driver problem. I downloaded the old Vista tablet driver to run on the Window 7 and problem solved.

Database size impact during upgrade

We have 3 databases to upgrade from 8.1.7 to 10R2 and all different sizes:10G, 200G, 700G We are planning for manual upgrade path.
Would size matter in terms of time to complete upgrade on each database?
All 3 database have same amount of objects, components. Just more data. Our users and managers asking for down time ball park for each database.

The size of your database is one of the most important factors of choosing your upgrade path.
If your database is 8.1.7.4 then you have direct upgrade path to 10gR2.

Color and size changed when upgraded to photoshop CS5

Hi, I created a flyer in an older version of photoshop and when I upgraded to CS5 the colors and print size changed. This is particularly distirbing b/c this is a flyer/advertisment for work that was almost at the final stage. They are quite small changes, but changes that need to be corrected just the same. The colors look different (duller) on the screen and in print while the size became smaller when I print (to pdf and the printer). My print settings are the same as before as are my color settings (CMYK). I am fairly new at creating flyers in photoshop, so I am hoping this is a simple fix. Thanks.

Are you 100% certain you are using the same color profiles throughout? That print size issue might be specific to your printer driver... CS5 has a completely rewritten print handling which may not correctly cooperate with your printer driver or conversely the driver might need to be updated...

SQL Logfile Big Size while SAP Upgrade

Hi All,
I am having MSSQL as database on Windows.
I am upgrading from R3/ 4.7 to ECC 6.0 and it is about to finish (right now it is at PMVNTAB_UPG Phase).
When I saw the Log of database, its has increased to a very large size initially about 17 GB to 100 GB now.
Upgrade process asked me to take the manual trans backup, when i took the backup it was of 90GB.
I want to know is this normal or we have to do some database specific step to reduce its size.

CustomTaskPane Title font size changed when upgrading from 2010 to 2013

I just upgraded my Word project from Office 2010 to Office 2013. The title of my task pane has changed font size considerably. Is there anyway to control the font size of the custom task pane title?

I can reproduce it as you describing. Based on my understanding, the task pane is drawed by Word applicaiton, the Word applicaiton need to make task pane fit the current version of Office.

Huge "OTHER" category size after OS upgrade?

Recently after upgrading the OS software on my iPad2, It is almost full with the "OTHER" category showing 5.6GB size!
That is more than my pics & music combined, what is in the OTHER category & How can I get some memory space back for MY stuff?

I had the same problem. The problem took me from 16gb to 1 gb when I had used maybe 5gb total. From what I can tell it is the result of downloading movies, music, and apps from iTunes, and then deleting them to make room or because you are simply keeping them in the cloud for back up. But I do not believe that when you delete them, it fully cleans the hard drive of residual memory.
This being said. Do two things.
1) turn off IPad 2 completely. Then plug in to your personal MAC while it is off. Once it turns back on This will free up a small amount.
2) go to iTunes on your MAC while the IPad is plugged in, Select file,devices,back up. (Back up will transfer all App purchases still on the IPad to your Mac), then after go back in select file,devices,restore from back up.
After you have done this your iPad will keep all music,movies,apps, pictures and files (Docs. To go), and it will run through a complete reboot. All your settings will remain the same as well. Then when you go to look at your memory it will be fixed. Like I said, my iPad had showed like 1gb of storage left, after I did this is showed 9.5 gb of storage free.
I don't believe in forums normally. I contacted apple technical support, and their representative had no clue what I was even talking about. So I took a chance on this, when I could have possibly lost everything not stored in my cloud. It worked perfectly. Hope this helps.

Addressbook file size exploding since upgrade to SL

I had noticed that searching my addressbook was getting really slow. I discovered now that since upgrading to SL, my addressbook file size (which i see by exporting it as an 'addressbook archive' has exploded from c.40MB to c.300MB since upgrading to SL. i have a few entries with pictures but not that much (say 100) from a total number of entries of circa 2600.
Can anyone tell me what their addressbook file size is with the number of entries?
is there a way to rebuild the addressbook or compress it?
i sync my addressbook with mobileme and my iphone and it's set to link to exchange although these entries don't seem to sit on the mac or in the addressbook backups.

I noticed this too, both on Leopard and Snow Leopard.
If you check your ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/Images folder, you will probably find it has way more than the 100 images for your Photo-contacts in it.
I am guessing it is storing a new copy of your contacts photo each time one of them sends you an email - it's just a guess from looking at the random timestamps on them but it would be pretty easy to check.
I have no fix, but this will temporarily remove the bloat: -
- Open AddressBook
- Go to preferences and make sure exporting of photos in vcards is ON)
- Export all vcards or drag them to your desktop
- Quit AddressBook
- Move your ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/Images folder to the trash can
- Open AddressBook again
- Drag the vCards back in
I repeat, this is a quick bandage, not a solution!

Cannot find font size changer since upgrading to ios 6

Where is the option to change the font size for your messages and mail? It used to be in Se ttings, Mail area. Since upgrading to ios 6 I don't see it any longer. ?

Photo booth image size after lion upgrade

While in Snow Leopard, whenever I take a photo using Photo Booth and drag and drop it onto an email message in a web browser, it pastes a smaller (approx 60-70kb) size of the image.
With Lion, whenever I do this it pastes a bigger image (around 150-200kb). My current internet connection is a bit crappy and it takes a wee bit of a while to upload.
I know that I can use Mail and specify what image size should be sent, but I don't use Mail
Is it possible to revert to the old image size for Photo Booth?

Dragging and dropping to a web-based email (gmail) makes the photo appear inside the message itself, and not as an attachment, which is what I wanted.

Video Podcasts streaming window size problem since upgrade to 9.0.3

Since the upgrade to 9.0.3 on Windows Vista SP2 when I go to the iTunes store and play a video podcast (Tekzilla, ABC news, etc.), a small window opens up without any controls to stop/start, show time played, expand window, etc. It seems the play must be initiated from a small button to the right of the specific podcast, not the play button on the upper left as before.
I have not found a way to expand the small window to full screen as worked before.
I have played with the options on the iTunes and tried Cntl + F, 1, 2, etc. Set the view option to full screen, etc. In short, every option that I can think of.
I have tried large quicktime and HD podcasts with the same result.
If I download the podcast, as opposed to steaming the podcast; and then highlight and hit the upper left play button, the podcast plays full screen and everything works as before (previously streaming and download playing worked the same).
I have a 6 MB DSL connection which works fine for Hulu, etc. and previously worked fine for full screen video podcast playback in iTunes. I am using a core 2 T5500 CPU with Vista SP2. This machine is a couple years old but is still relatively quick for non-gaming use.
Has iTunes changed? Is there a setting that I need to reset?

Likewise. I started having the problem before 9.03. The upgrade helped for a couple of days, then it started happening again. And then I upgraded to 9.1, and not only do I have to log in and agree to the settings page EVERY SINGLE TIME I LOG IN but the "remember password" box is now completely missing.
Any time I have iPhone apps to update, I have to click on "download all", which then pops up the login box. I enter my password, click on OK to agree that my settings are OK, then I have to click on "download all a second time.
This is getting very annoying.
