DB Structure of SSM 7.0?

Hi, All.
I wonder about DB structure of SSM 7.0 as below.
1. Where does stored in the data after I sent? (file or table)
2. Does save the data in PAS after BI Connect? if it is YES then, Where is stored in?
BR,
Hyun.

Hyun,
All objects and definitions created in Strategy Management application components are saved as records in the Netweaver CE system database.
Storage would be in your MaxDB or SQL server.
Strategy Management is meant to bring in data for the application, not be a data warehouse. It can call data from BI without storing it. The decisions on whether to call or store will depend on affects in performance created by either storing or calling.

Bob

  • Replacimg performance Manager with SSM(SAP Strategy management)

    Hi,
Can any body tell me  how to migrate all the scorecards, KPIs  based on Performance Manager to SAP Strategy Management. Is there is a tool for that in SSM if not should those be rebuilt in SSM from the scratch.
how do we replicate everything fromPM to  SSM
From the developer perspective what will their tasks.
    Edited by: chrisbaker1999 on Jun 16, 2011 1:01 PM

    Chris,
What the External Data Loader does is to allow you to transfer your scorecard structure from Performance Manager to Strategy Management. What you are importing is the structure of Contexts, Perspectives, Objectives and KPI aspects. It allows you to put all of these in the loader, verify the structure in the loader, and then using Transport to bring into SSM.
There are additional definitions and settings that SSM requires that will have to be added after you Transport the loader's data.
You will still have to build PAS models separately, because the External Data Loader does not build models.
The Transporter tool in SSM allows you to export (and then import) your scorecard metadata from DEV to PROD. Moving between systems is a two-step process, and Transporter is step one. PAS is separate (step two) and you make a dump of the model in your DEV system, take that dump file from the Home directory in DEV and move it to the Home directory in PROD. In the PROD system you create a new PAS model frame and then load that dump into the new framework.
Each SAP customer has a super-administrator that can add users to the SAP Service Marketplace. Find out who your super-admin is and get yourself added to allow you access to those areas on Service Marketplace.
    Regards,
    Bob

  • Import Query to SSM

    Hello,
We trying to import a query to SSM and we can import its structure but not the data. In the Import Trace appears the follow error:
Fiscal characteristic 0FISCPER3 was not imported as a dimension to Application Server.
Please use the INCLUDING FISCAL keyword on both IMPORT DIMENSION and IMPORT TIME to import such a characteristic as a dimension in Application Server.
Fiscal characteristic 0FISCVARNT was not imported as a dimension to Application Server.
Please use the INCLUDING FISCAL keyword on both IMPORT DIMENSION and IMPORT TIME to import such a characteristic as a dimension in Application Server.
    What should we do?
    Regards,
    Vera

    Hi Vera,
We only support the use of 0FISCPER as the time characteristic from SSM 7.0 SP7 and higher, and then only with a specific series of steps.  What you need to do can be outlined as follows:
    1. Ensure that the query has 0FISCVARNT set to a single FY variant in the global filters.
    2. Ensure that the BW query has 0FISCPER in query rows or free characteristics etc
    3. Create the PAS model in BICA
    4. Exit BICA
    5. Logon to PAS
    6. Model in exclusive mode
    7. SET FISCAL CAL APRIL
    8. Create a Document in PAS model called BWFISCPERINFO. This document should have two lines in it. The first line denotes periodicity represented by 0FISCPER (usually MONTHLY) and second line maps Fiscal period to a calendar month. You can choose any single combination of YYYYPPP and YYYYMM for this mapping. The example below uses 200901 mapping to April 2008
         MONTHLY
         2009001 200804
    9. Return to BICA
    10. Load query with 0FISCPER as time characteristic
The reason this is requried is because PAS needs to understand how the BW fiscal period maps to a specific calendar month.
This is the only way that a query using 0FISCPER can be mapped into Strategy Management.
    Thanks and regards,
    Robert

  • SSM and Performance Manager

I will be migrating a client from Performance Manager to SSM. I understand the capabilities of SSM but have never used Performance Manager. Is these material that compares the two, or even a good description of Performace Manager.
    Thanks

    Hi,
SAP Strategy Management is the product that is designated as the route for the future and replaces Performance Manager.
The product has a long history as PilotWorks from Pilot Software prior to the acquisition of Pilot by SAP. It is increasingly being integrated into the SAP/BOBJ environment and with version 7.5 now on general release supports Business Objects Enterprise for authentication and the data in the underlying multidimensional OLAP database (PAS) is available to Business Objects tools through web services. The PAS database can store all the actuals targets etc and you can manipulate this data to reflect your needs. SSM is structured around u2018Contextsu2019 which are a u2018view of the worldu2019 so that you can have contexts for geographical or organisational slices through the organisation which can all roll up all the way to organisational level.

  • Configuring ssm multicast

    hi,
we are getting ready to implement the nexus 7000 with otv are two sites. since multicast is required to support this configuration i am currently testing how to implement ssm multicast on our core network. i am having problems joining the ssm group. here is the output from the 6509 i am using:
    hw-dc-vss-cs6509-1(config-if)#ip igmp join-group 232.1.1.1
Ignoring request to join group 232.1.1.1, SSM group without source specified
    hw-dc-vss-cs6509-1(config-if)#ip igmp join-group 232.1.1.1 ?
      <cr>
    hw-dc-vss-cs6509-1(config-if)#ip igmp join-group 232.1.1.1
as you can see the source option is not available and i can't figure out why.

I'm assuming you mean WebLogic SSM. If you set it up using organizational structure, you should see a new org in /entitlementsadministration with a number of applications bound to the SSM you declared.

  • Dynamic Field type declaration in a structure

    Hi All,
How to declare the data element of a field dynamically in the structure i.e, how to define a field type dynamically in the structure?
Please find below example for better understanding of my query and share your ideas if we have a solution for such requirement.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF ts_struc,
            fld1 TYPE matnr,
            fld2 TYPE maktx,

DATA: it_struc TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF ts_struc.
    PARAMETERS: p_cc RADIOBUTTON GROUP rg1,
                p_us RADIOBUTTON GROUP rg1.
    if p_cc eq 'X'.
    fld4, fld5, fld6 should be of type WOG0XXX.
    elseif p_us eq 'X'.
    fld4, fld5, fld6 should be of type WKG0XXX.

    field-symbols: <fs_str> type WOG0XXX.
      CREATE DATA dref TYPE WOG0XXX.
      ASSIGN dref->* TO <fs_str>.

    lv_kunnr = '123'.

  • SSM Data Model

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me where I can find the data model for the relational tables on SSM?
    Thanks in advance
    Cliff Stinson

    Cliff,
Did you just want to know where the data resides in SSM or were you looking to pull that data for other uses?
You can open up PAS, select a data model and use the DataView tab to see the data loaded within that model. Consulting the PAS help section, in the IDQL tab you can enter commands to show the structure of the model, dimensions, variables, etc.
Consider SSM a data consumer rather than a data provider. Loading data into SSM means creating a data model and a file layout that will match the external source. Although there is a connector available to bring data in from SAP BW, it's one-way.
With SSM 7.5, there is the ability to use web services to make SSM data available primarily to other BusinessObjects applications like Xcelsius for dashboarding purposes.
It is not recommended that you change or modify tables in SSM since that can serious affect the performance and usage of the application.
    Regards,
    Bob

  • SSM - Strategy Management - Dimension Version

I have a dimension modeling issue with Strategy Management.  I want to know if there is a way to utilize the dimension versions in SSM to keep historical data accurate when a dimension member shifts in the hierarchy.  Let me explain:
    Dim previous state:
    Parent1 -> Child1, Child2
    Parent2 -> Child3
    Dim current state:
    Parent1 -> Child1
    Parent2 -> Child2, Child3
The business has reorganized its business which caused the dimension member Child2 to shift under a new parent.  I want all KPIs going forward to use this new structure, however, when I look back at historical measurements, I want the data to reflect what was accurate then, which was the previous state in this example.
    Is this possible in SSM?
    Thanks for the help.

    Hi Keith,
Unfortunately SSM does not provide for dimension versions in the same manner in which BW does, so there is no easy way to look at the hierarchy the way that it was at a previous point in time.  While it is not necessary to overwrite any already existing data, the display will be somewhat nonsensical because you will see the new hierarchy structure but the old data values.
However, if you are using Entry & Approval then, as part of the load process, all historical data is deleted from the model and reloaded in order to ensure that any changed data is correctly presented.
I realize that this doesn't really give you what you want, but SSM unfortunately does not support dimension versions.
    Thanks and regards,
    Robert

  • How to transport  KPI, Initiative, milestone,...from SSM2007 into SSM 7.5

    Dear all,
My current system is SSM version 2007, it doesn't have Netweaver CE installed.
So, I want to know how can we transport our existing Context, Perspective, Objective, KPI, Initiative, milestone...?
from the old version 2007 into version 7.5 that i just installed.
In SSM version 7.5 we use transport tool, but in SSM version 2007 i really don't know how.
    thanks, if any answers

Because the metadata in SSM 2007 was in a file structured database (SQLite) and the metadata in newer versions are in other structures (SQL Server, Oracle, etc) with different formats, limits, etc. you won't be able to migrate all the information yourself from one version to the other one, instead you need SAP Support to migrate them for you.
There are some steps on how to do this in the migration guide.
    I hope this helps.

  • "Script Table As" Errors: Returns structure for wrong table, etc.

    Hello, all.
A few weeks ago I ran "Script Table As" for "SELECT TO..." and it returned the data structure for the wrong table!
I restored the database from a known good backup from months before, and the same thing happened. I nearly resorted to restoring the Master database from backup, when the phenomenon suddenly disappeared.
Now this morning, I ran "script table as" on a different table (And different database as well) and it only returned part of the structure.
Any ideas? Is my master database corrupted? Queries, etc. seem to work normally.

I don't know what is going on, but I would definitely run a trace to see what statements SSMS is emitting. If you see the wrong table names listed in the query, you know that SSMS is confused. If you see the right table name, and wrong data comes back,
you have a real problem. (I would place my bets on the first alternative.)

  • How to Copy complete structure of a table with data from one database table to another databse table

I need a sql query to copy structure of table with data from production table of ONLINEBTREKDB database to production table of Archive database.
    I tried this query
    select * into Archive.dbo.Production from ONLINEBTREKDB.dbo.Production p
but problem is I am able to copy the table schema and data but not able to copy constraints(PK)
    Any Help?

    You've multiple options
    1. Use generate scripts wizard available in SQL management studio. This is particularly helpful when you want to script out lot of objects. You can also choose to script data as well inside this. This can be launched by right clicking the db, choosing tasks
-> generate scripts and then selecting required options inside the wizard
    2. Use object explorer and right click and script out table. You can also use search functionality to find object you want inside object explorer
    http://visakhm.blogspot.in/2013/02/object-filtering-using-ssms-object.html
    3. Use query based on INFORMATION_SCHEMA views like TABLES,COLUMNS,CONSTRAINT_COLUMN_USAGE etc to generate the script

  • Translate SSM Content in Both French and English

    Hi
On a project, users could be able to access SSM 7.5 in both English and French. It concerns Context, Objectives, Perspectives and KPIs.
How can I achieve that in SSM
    Thanks in advance
    AS

    Hi Jeroen,
If I understand correctly what you are looking for (defined the strategic elements in different languages and use the corresponding language depending on the user preferences) is not provided out of the box.
Maybe what you can do as a workaround is create different system (pw) databases (if you use contexts it could get confusing at some point) and have different languages for each of them so the users can choose right from the start which one they want to use. With this you will have two databases on your demolauncher for example and they can choose from the beginning which one they want to use. The only issue with this workaround is that you have to maintain both databases.
If you want it to be on the same database you would probably need a customization that could take some time as it might involve minor changes to the data structure and a couple of source files to provide the second language to all the elements. In my experience this customization is moderately difficult as usually people forget about the need to have a good maintenance plan moving forward.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to automate backup on SSM?

    Hi guys,
I need assistance in how to automate the backup process on SAP Strategy Management 7.5 (SP10).
Acctually I´m using Transporter to generate the ZIP file that contains the structure (meta-data) in SSM.
Also, I´m generating a dump file from my Dimensional Model into Application Server client.
So, I dind´t find a way to automate these process.
    Any ideas for this demand?
    I appreciate the suggestions.
    Best Regards,
    Bruno Heissler

    Guys,
Just let you know, to automate the backup process from PAS (Dimensional Model) I´ve worked with batch command line. Something like this:
    PASADMIN.EXE -j DUMPCUBO;CUBENAME -u USER
It´s working fine. Generating the Dump files on the Application Server/Home directory.
Any idea to automate the backup process from Transporter Tool?

  • Configuring SSM with OES Admin Server

    Hi,
I have installed an SSM and enrolled ith with Admin server by running the enroll.bat script. After that I also ran the ConfigTool.bat file and build executed successfully. However when I login to OES Admin Console,I am not able to see the new SSM.Any idea what i am doing wrong here?.Thanks in Advance.

I'm assuming you mean WebLogic SSM. If you set it up using organizational structure, you should see a new org in /entitlementsadministration with a number of applications bound to the SSM you declared.

  • Cisco IPS ASA SSM-10

I am using an ASA SSM-10 IPS. Currently it keeps logging those event of alerts.
Where does the IPS keeps all those event logs? In the disk space?
Where can i see how much space i left?
Will it went down if the space is full?

This is from the post I linked earlier, and you don't have to worry the sensor will definitely not go 'down', the event-log data structure is circular and is over-written every time it is full.
"The eventStore size starting at version 5.0(1) is a fixed 30 Meg. Its a *circular* eventStore that is intended to wrap (new events overwriting oldest events). The usual sensor deployment includes some sort of remote event monitor application (like IEV,IME etc.) that pulls events from the sensor. The eventStore acts as a buffer to allow the remote monitoring app to keep up with busy sensors. If your eventStore wraps every few hours then the monitoring app should be able to keep up with all the events being generated. The concern would be if the eventStore continuously wrapped in less than 10 or 15 minutes. At that point you may be loosing events and would need to tune the sensor signature config to only alarm on meaningful events."
I'm assuming since the event-store is only 30 MB, its a 'part' of one of the following parititions:
    application-data OR application-log
    Most probably the first one.
