Unless your out of hard drive slots you have all those drives from the clients that keep going out. If you had a backup tape system that would clear the single point of failure problem. Of course, you can put the PXE install on a separate disk.

The server that is serving the PXE clients, is impervious to the actual PXE installation. It is efficient however to maintain, because you can use the main server's package cache (assuming you pay attention to differing architectures), and pacman into the PXE client installation specifying the PXE root for operations affecting the PXE installation. You can run the PXE clients without disks in them. On the windows side, there are windows installations via PXE and iSCSI. Nothing says you can't use sshfs instead of nfs for the clients. You wouldn't need to necessarily log into the PXE clients root account to make changes. Most of that could be done from the server that it resides on. Point two is that the files actually serving the PXE clients can be on a totally different computer pointed to by DHCP. You can turn the router DHCP off, and have the requests answered by Arch's dhcpd.

Pls help me to find admin tool for latest bi linux version
Hello,
Oracle Business Intelligence, v. 11.1.1.5.0
I installed the latest version of OBIEE of linux version 64 bit on the server.
Installation went fine.
Now the only problem is finding Admin tool.
Could u pls tell me where its sitting.
I know i Windows it Admintool.exe
ThanksHi user,
Firstly you wont have admin tool for linux environment....you need to install the client on windows local machine and access the BI server of linux by setting up a connection.
So you need to download 64-bit or 32-bit windows one to install http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-enterprise-edition/downloads/biee-111150-393613.html
Read this document :- http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/e10539/c5_postinstall.htm#CEGEHEJF
hope answered your question.

Tool for monitoring several linux desktops
Hi i currently administer a small office all with linux machines. I also have a server that is up all the time. I'm looking for a tools to automate the processs of watching the desktops if they are behaving well. Something that is client-server. I can use the seerver that is always on to send me emails. I would like to monitor the desktops to see if they are healthy and replace parts or do mainteinace before they fail. Currently im working with very old computers so hard disk failure is common (one every two months), and also sometimes the users fill up the hard disk.
Is there a tool that can send information from all these computers to a central server and then anaylze it? Im looking for info produced by smartmontools and df, and maybe other program, but im not looking for information on the network, as it is not very crucial and theyre desktop machines not servers.
Ive looked at nagios but i think is overkill and mainly for servers.
I just run around 12 computers with linux, all of them desktops except for one.
Also is there a way to automate the update and installation of software of these machines? currently im using webmin cluster module for sending instructions to all of them, but it is rather clumsy.
Is there such a tool, or should i relly in some custom solution, maybe bash scripts + ssh ?Unless your out of hard drive slots you have all those drives from the clients that keep going out. If you had a backup tape system that would clear the single point of failure problem. Of course, you can put the PXE install on a separate disk.

Surround Test Tool for Linux?
Hello,
since I changed to Linux some years ago, my surround 5.1 Sound isn't working. Atm it seems that only the left front channel is used. I had a look into alsamixer but it's hard to judge which channel is or is not working. Under windows there was a little tool for my soundcard (Realtek ALC650F) which played a sound on every channel one after another - it was easy that way to check which channels were working. Is there something comparable for Linux?
Thank you

Backpac: A package state snapshot and restore tool for Arch Linux
backpac:
A package state snapshot and restore tool for Arch Linux with config file save/restore support.
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=52957
https://github.com/altercation/backpac (see readme on the github repository for more information)
Summary & Features
It's a common method of setting up a single system: take some notes about what packages you've installed, what files you've modified.
Backpac creates those notes for you and helps back up important configuration files. Specifically, backpac does the following:
maintains a list of installed groups (based on 80% of group packages being installed)
maintains a list of packages (including official and aur packages, listed separately)
maintains a list of files (manually created)
backs up key config files as detailed in the files list you create
The package, group and files lists along with the snapshot config files allows system state to be easily committed to version control such as git.
Backpac can also use these lists to install packages and files. Essentially, then, backpac takes a snapshot of your system and can recreate that state from the files and lists it archives.
Use Cases
Ongoing system state backup to github
Quick install of new system from existing backpac config
Conform current system to given state in backpac config
Backpac is a very, very lightweight way of saving and restoring system state.
It's not intended for rolling out and maintaining multiple similar systems, it's designed to assist individual users in the maintainance of their own Arch Linux box.
Status
Alpha, release for testing among those interested. Passing all tests right now but will continue to rework and refine. Bug reports needed.
Why?
There are a lot of 'big-iron' solutions to maintaining, backing up and restoring system state. Setting these up for a single system or a handful of personal systems has always seemed like overkill.
There are also some existing pacman list making utilities around, but most of them seem to list either all packages or don't separate the official and aur packages the way I wanted. Some detect group install state, some don't. I wanted all these features in backpac.
Finally, whatever tool I use, I'd like it to be simple (c.f. the Arch Way). Lists that are produced should be human readable, human maintainable and not different from what I'm using in non-automated form. Backpac fulfills these requirements.
Regarding files, I wanted to be able to backup arbitrary system files to a git repository. Tools like etckeeper are interesting but non /etc files in that case aren't backed up (without some link trickery) and there isn't any automatic integration with pacman, so there is no current advantage to using a tool like that. I also like making an explicit list of files to snapshot.
Sample Output
This is the command line report. Additionally, backpac saves this information to the backpac groups, packages and files lists and the files snapshot directory.
$ backpac -Qf

If AUR_HELPER is defined by the user, then either you might need a list of major AUR helpers and their command line switches so you can pick the correct switch for what needs to be done (most use some variation of -S for installing, but not all), or have the user define the correct switch(es) somehow for their chosen AUR helper.
That's a good idea. I'll add that to my AUR refactoring todo.
I also found directory tracking to be a weakness in other dotfile managers that I tried. I think you would definitely have to recursively list out the contents of a tracked directory and deal with each file individually. Wildcard support would be nice...I just haven't personally found a use case for it yet.
I've been thinking that I could just add the directory and scan through it for any non-default attribute files. If those are found then they get automatically added to the files list. That's pretty close to what etckeeper does.
Edit: I just compiled the dev version and removed my comments for already fixed things...sorry!
The master branch should have those fixes as well, but I didn't update the version number in the package build. I'll have to do that.
1. Still apparently didn't handle the escaped space for this item: (the file does exist on my system)
Ok, good to know. This wildcard directory business will require some new code and refactoring so I'll also rework my filenames handling.
2. Suggestion: you should make that awesome README into a man page!
I was working on one (the pkgbuild has a commented out line for the man page) but I had to leave it for later. Definitely want a man page. Once this stabilizes and I'm sure there aren't any big structural changes, I'll convert it to man format.
3. Suggestion: add the word 'dotfile' into your description somewhere on this page, the github page, and in the package description so people looking for dotfile managers will find it. You could also consider modularizing the script into a dotfile manager and the package manager, so people on other distros could take advantage of your dotfile management scheme.
I actually have a different script for dotfile management that doesn't touch packages, but there is definitely overlap with this one. That script isn't released yet, though, and if people find this useful for dotfile management that's great. I'll add that in.
4. Suggestion: since -Q is a read-only operation, why not just make it run with -f automatically to avoid the prompt?
Originally, running backpac without any command line options produced the Query output. I was concerned that since it is a utility that can potentially overwrite system files, it is important to give users a clear statement prior to execution about what will be done. Since the Query output is essentially the same as the Update and System reports in format and content, I wanted to be explicit about the Query being a passive no-change operation. The current command line options aren't set in stone though. If you feel strongly about it being different, let me know.
Long answer to a short question
5. Another suggestion: any thought to providing some sort of 'scrub' function to remove private information from the stored files if desired? This would be cool for publishing public dotfiles to github. Perhaps a credentials file (I did this with python for my own configs). Probably detecting email addresses and passwords without a scrub file would be rather difficult because dotfiles come in so many flavors.
Yes, absolutely. In fact, if you look at the lib/local file (pretty sure it's in both master and dev branches in this state) you'll see some references to a sanitize function. The idea there is that the user will list out bash associative arrays like this:
SANITIZE_WPA_=(
[FILE]='/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf'
[CMD]='sed s/expungepattern/sanitizedoutput/g'
Question: am I missing an obvious option to remove a file from the files.d directory if I delete it from the files list? Or do I have to delete it manually? It might be helpful to add a section to the README on how to update and delete dotfiles from being tracked, and also a more detailed description of what the -b option does (and what is actually created when it's not used).
You are only missing the function I didn't finish. There should be either dummy code or a TODO in the backpac main script referencing garbage collection, which isn't difficult but I just haven't finished it. The idea being another loop of "hey I found these old files in your files.d, mind if I delete them?" It's on my list and I'll try to get it in asap.
And finally, just out of curiosity, why did you choose to actually copy the files instead of symlink like so many other dotfile managers do?
git not following symlinks, hardlinks also out for permissions issues (git wouldn't be able to read the files, change them, etc.)
I definitely would prefer to not make an entire copy of the file, but I haven't come up with a better option. Shout with ideas, though. Also, if there is a way around the link issues I noted above, let me know. I don't see one but that doesn't mean it's not there.
edit: I think a Seattle area Arch meetup would be cool! Perhaps coffee someplace? Bellevue? U-district? Anyone else? BYOPOL (bring your own pimped out laptop)
A general meetup sounds good. I was also thinking it would be fun to do a mini archcon with some demos. -
Is there a reason why Oracle has refused to create an ERD tool that works on Linux?
Has anyone found a good Linux-based ERD tool?I've heard some good things about aqua studio, which should also work under Linux.

Tools for Oracle Admin.
Hi Gurus and admins.
I have been lurking here for a while and I think that these groups are wicked cool! I left college ("school" to our American friends!) recently (degree in computer science) and have got a job as a junior oracle developer/dba with a small company near London. The company is "young and dynamic" (i.e. we have to work long hours ;( ), but there are good people here and lots of opportunities to learn. We are allowed choose our own tools for the work we do as long as we use the Subversion server for source control (sql - pl/sql - java - c) and use Bugzilla for reporting. Since these are browser based, this is not a problem and I can use my Linux box (nearly) all the time and the browser of my choice. Sometimes it is necessary to use Windows on client sites - amazingly, they tell us it's for security reasons - go figure! I want a lightweight admin tool that's Open Source (I did lot's of work on open source stuff when in college. Does anybody have any ideas? Mac.>
Hi Mac, and welcome to the forums,
I have been lurking here for a while and I think that these groups are wicked cool!
I left college ("school" to our American friends!) recently (degree in computer science)
and have got a job as a junior oracle developer/dba with a small company near London.
The company is "young and dynamic" (i.e. we have to work long hours ;( ), but there
are good people here and lots of opportunities to learn. We are allowed choose our
own tools for the work we do as long as we use the Subversion server for source
control (sql - pl/sql - java - c) and use Bugzilla for reporting. Since these are browser
based, this is not a problem and I can use my Linux box (nearly) all the time and the browser of my choice.
Sometimes it is necessary to use Windows on client sites - amazingly, they tell
us it's for security reasons - go figure! I want a lightweight admin tool that's Open
Source (I did lot's of work on open source stuff when in college. Does anybody
have any ideas? Mac.I looked at this at one point.
There are a number of tools out there that are F\LOSS. There's TOra which is
about the best of the Open Source stuff, however, development seems to have
stopped around 2010. There's also http://www.sqltools-plusplus.org:7676/index.html (Windows only)
from Randolph Geist - but it's ceased development also. Its advantage is that it can
be run from a USB stick - but when I tried it recently, it didn't support the DESC table_name
command - I have to say that I was disappointed.
There are a number of SQL*Plus replacements out there - Go [url http://packages.python.org/sqlpython/comparison.html]here to check them out - most seem to
have ceased development - apart from sqlpython and gqlplus.
You mention security. I was on one client site where all we were allowed use was
vi and SQL*Plus. There is a project [url http://code.google.com/p/vorax/]here which seeks to be a
"simple, yet a powerful IDE for Oracle databases" by sort of combining vi with SQL*Plus. Haven't
tried it, but it might be worth a look.
You have to remember however that, while on client site, you may very well be constrained to use
the tools that they tell you to use which will likely be (boring old) SQL*Plus and an editor.
You may be denied the opportunity to use your latest whizz-bang tool and worse still, you may
be stumped if you have to use tools with which you are not familiar.
Download and play all you like with all of the marvellous stuff you can find on the interweb,
but you must be familiar with SQL*Plus.
As for a GUI tool, my recommendation is that you use SQL Developer if you are mostly running
Linux - it also works on Windows. It's a java app, so it's a bit sluggish on machines with <= 2GB
of RAM, but with laptops now at 8GB RAM and rising, that shouldn't be an issue.
Even on Windows, personally I find TOAD to be very cluttered, but if your employer is willing
to pay the (outrageous) licence costs, then I would make an effort to at least become somewhat
familiar with it - it's pretty much a standard - many Oracle job offers mention TOAD.
You have to ask yourself for your career &c., are you more interested in F\LOSS or becoming a
competent Oracle professional.? It's likely that the latter will pay a better salary and, even if
you don't add in the complcation of learning non-standard apps, there's a heck of a lot to learn
with Oracle alone.
Best of luck with your career.
[EDIT sb92075 mentioned Squirrel SQL - I had meant to put it down also. If you want a tool to
connect to all major (and a lot of minor) database servers (it uses JDBC - so if you have a driver
you can connect) and perform ad-hoc queries - then Squirrel SQL is your man. I've used it
for Firebird, MySQL (although Workbench is better), PostgreSQL and even Oracle - it's handy!

Paul...

Are there any recovery tools for optical media?
I've had a couple of DVD's turned in to coasters recently and I was hoping that Linux could come to my rescue with some awesome 'raw-read' / recovery tools for optical media?
I burnt the discs in Windows 7 using InfraRecorder on a brand new Plextor drive (a 'PX-891SA') and these are my first attempts to burn discs with it so I'm a bit worried it could be a hardware fault!
I started off trying to back up some files to clear some space on my hard-drive, burning them to a dual-layer dvd, but the software kept failing to even start the burn process -- that was until I realised that I needed to run the program "as Administrator" (in Windows). It did then manage to burn the disc (I was using "Session-at-Once" mode) however when it came to the end of the burn process / the start of the 'verify data' phase it threw an error saying the write process had failed! Windows couldn't access the disc / data and (I think) still thought the disk was empty. So I restarted the burning application and used a function to just 'close' the whole disc. This seemed to work because Windows was then able to recognise the disc and read the data, although accessing the disc was slow and sounded 'stutter' ish.
I then tried to write a single layer dvd to finish off the last couple of gig I had to back up, but again the software completed the burn phase only to report a 'fail' error right at the end (I'm assuming) before finalising the disc. Although this time I'd tried to create a multi-session disc by using the '2XXA' (or something) 'Multi-Session' iso9660 format. The result was that Windows couldn't read the disc and still thought it was empty, even after trying a forced 'close disc' operation! -- Linux however could read the disc and see that the data had in fact been burnt to the disc (although I've not yet tried copying it in Linux!).
Finally I needed to burn a load of archives to a couple of discs (totaling ~9GiB) -- starting with a dual-layer dvd first everything seemed to be working fine, the burn process started okay and the write buffer was full etc., until at what I assume was the layer change-over it all came to a grinding halt and threw another 'write operation failed' error, only this time I can't even mount the disk in Linux....see 'dmesg | tail' output below:
[ 5758.353005] ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 3
[ 5758.353015] ISOFS: Interleaved files not (yet) supported.
[ 5758.353016] ISOFS: File unit size != 0 for ISO file (1472).
[ 5758.353019] ISOFS: changing to secondary root
[ 5758.353035] ISOFS: Interleaved files not (yet) supported.

[ 5758.353037] isofs_fill_super: root inode is not a directory. Corrupted media?
Does anyone have any thought or suggestions that might help?
- Is it likely to be a hardware fault? (I bought a Plextor because I thought they were one of the best!)
Maybe even if I could just close the session all would not be lost?

I've tried this and that in Linux but without much luck. I'm still quite a noob with a lot of Linux things and this is the first time I'm trying anything to do with optical disks/drives etc. so I'm learning as I go...
The disk that failed in Windows but was 'readable' in Linux did just pass a run through ddrescue -- i.e. it created an output file okay and did not report any errors in the process.
However when I mounted the resulting image and tried to copy the files across the first folder reported an "input/ouput error" (just using gui copy+paste in Thunar file manager)
...the other folders did copy okay though!
It seems as though it's the lead-in / lead-out and disc finalizing process that are the main fail points with the burn operation. I don't know if InfraRecorder is any good or likely to be the problem? Anyway the drive cam with Nero (inc. Linux version) so might give either or both of these a go too, if they don't work either then at least I wont be short of something to rest a mug o' tea on
@ chris_l (again) -- the Plextor drives do have a "Vari-Rec" feature which allows a user to 'tweak' the laser power / output level so I might try this too.
@alphaniner -- thanks I've not seen this package before, I'm guessing it's a bit like cdparanoia but for dvds?!
Thanks for the help!
(pre-post) UPDATE >>> I've just mounted my Windows partition in Linux so I'll have a crack at burning the files using cdrtools before I resort to throwing the dvd drive out of the window and chasing it around the yard with a lump hammer -
Help needed for MySQL 5 database DSN less connection with Oracle reports
Hi,
I am using Oracle Develper Suite and java (J2EE) for my application. I am using MySql 5 as database tool. I want to use Oracle reports of Oracle Develper suite. I have created some reports by first creating system DSN for MySql database and then connect Oracle reports to that DSN by "jdbc:odbc" connection string provided in Oracle Report developer wizard. This is working fine.
I want to generate reports without creating system DSN (DSN less) so that i can use my application on any computer without creating DSN for Oracle Reports. I am deploying my application on OC4j as "EAR" file.
Help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Regards.Using an 8i client, you will need to configure the tnsnames.ora file with appropriate connection information if you are using local naming. If you are using host naming or something like an Oracle Names server to resolve TNS aliases, you can skip the tnsnames.ora configuration. A default installation of the Oracle client, though, will probably be using local naming.
If the tnsnames.ora file is configured, or you have configured an alternate way of resolving TNS aliases, you should be able to use the connection string
DRIVER={Oracle ODBC Driver};DBQ=<<TNS alias>>;UID=system;PWD=managerIf you wanted to move to the 10g client (the 10g Instant Client could be useful here), there are some streamlined naming methods that could be used instead of configuring the tnsnames.ora file.

Problems using Quick Migrate in SQL Developer 1.5 for MySQL to Oracle 10g
Hi all,
I am trying to use SQL Developer 1.5 migration tools (Quick Migrate) to perform online capture and build source model to migrate from MySQL 5.x to Oracle 10g on Windows platform. I get these errors and the Quick Migrate process fails:
oracle.dbtools.metadata.persistence.PersistableObject.doInsert(PersistableObject.java:238)
I did a search and used the sqldeveloper.cmd script but still fails. Then I created a new database and truncated the repository. I now get the above error plus two new ones listed below:
oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:112)
Error loading nls:OALL8 is in an inconsistent state
Error occurred during capture: Protocol violation
It fails during the capture process for MySQL 5.1 database
when it begins to capture the tables from MySQL.
Does anyone know how to resolve these issues when migrating from MySQL to Oracle 10g using Quick Migrate with SQL Developer 1.5 release?

Ben Prusinski

benprusinskiHi all,
I put the following in my sqldeveloper.cmd file:
SET ORACLE_HOME=%CD%
What is very confusing is that with SQL Developer 1.5, there are several levels and several SQL Developer executables! I am really not sure which of these to use:
I created the SQLDeveloper 1.5 directory called SQLDeveloper1_5 on Windows:
1) cd C:\sqldeveloper1_5\sqldeveloper-5338
there exists a sqldeveloper.exe
2) cd c:\sqldeveloper1_5\sqldeveloper-5338\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper.exe
3) cd c:\sqldeveloper1_5\sqldeveloper-5338\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloer\bin\sqldeveloper.exe
Which SQLDeveloper 1.5 executable should I be using and where should I place the
sqldeveloper.cmd file?
Also I did try to use a different database and schema for the repository with Quick Migrate but it appears a bug exists in SQL Developer 1.5 version that causes errors with Quick Migrate for MySQL to Oracle? Is this correct?
As an update, I ran the following commands:
cd to
c:\sqldeveloper1_5\sqldeveloper-5338\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin
sqldeveloper.cmd sqldeveloper.exe
Start sqldeveloper.exe
Perform standard capture for MySQL using the new mig2 schema as the new repository
It starts the capture but fails on the errors below:
Error loading nls:OALL8 is in an inconsistent state
UPDATE
============================
I tried this again and it worked with the exception of one error message listed below:
Here are the steps that I followed:
1. Create a Windows cmd script
Put the following entries in the script:
SET ORACLE_HOME=%CD%
save the command windows script as sqldeveloper.cmd
Copy this script to the base installation directory for SQLDeveloper
Example:
1. cd c:\SQLDeveloper1_5\sqldeveloper-5338\sqldeveloper
2. Start SQLDeveloper with the command script that you created earlier
Example:
Open a Windows shell prompt window and execute the following scripts:
a) sqldeveloper.cmd sqldeveloper.exe
b) sqldeveloper.exe
3) In SQL Developer 1.5
From the Migrate menu,
a) Delete current repository and create a new schema in Oracle target database call it mig2.
b) Then create a new repository in SQL Developer 1.5
c) Right mouse click on the MySQL 5.x database and choose capture
It worked with the exception of one error message:
o.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
Error while registering Oracle JDBC Diagnosability MBean.
So it looks like something is screwed up with my JDBC drivers and configuration for MySQL. How do I diagnose the JDBC driver issue for MySQL?
Thanks!!!
Ben

Sensible benchmarks for a desktop Linux system?
By the end of the month, I'll have done a massive overhaul of my PC - going to brand spanking new just about everything. But it's not enough to just know that my new system will be faster. I want to know how much faster it is with quantifiable numbers and everything.
So one of the big things I'll be looking at will be video games. Doing that is easy though - just use something like what review sites like hardocp do and count my framerates.
But on the other side, I want to see how my linux performance changes. I know I can measure my FLOPS, Bogomips, and other numbers, but those are kind of abstract. Doesn't show anything about the applications I use every day.
So what can you guys think of that would be sensible to do for benchmarking a Linux system to get before-and-after comparisons?
My thoughts:
Page renderings in Firefox. Make some kind of convulted, ugly mess of a page to render then see how long it takes.
Code compilation - it's something I do from time to time, and easy enough to benchmark.
Video encoding and decoding - Something I do every now and then using mplayer et al
Audio encoding and decoding - I try to keep my music collection in ogg format
Rendering - I'm starting to play with Blender, maybe make a horrifically complex scene (or better yet, download one) and time the render process?
Database queries - This isn't something I do a lot on my system, but more and more applications are starting to use database backends (like amaroK although I don't use it) I think there are benchmark suites available for MySQL and Postgres
My only other thought is that I should try to measure the increase in responsiveness I get from going from a single core to dual core system. Trying to measure that is kind of tough though. Maybe a scenario where I do something arbitrary in the background, then measure dropped frames in mplayer playing a video of some sort?meh. that benchmark sucked. Not much info given on testing environment, number of runs, etc.
Some very odd marks in there as well...makes me wonder if he just ran the tests once and said "good enough".

I love Visual Studio. I use it since 2006 for c#, asp, WinForm project, etc. I have a question about PHP / Simple Web dev :
Which is the extention between VS.PHP and PHP TOOLS ?
What i need :
- Intellisence (auto completion all PHP core class and functions and major extention, project lib class and functions)
- Powerfull debug, with break points etc...
-Web server integartion (apache, nginx, mysql)
- Live edit over FTP
- Publish over FTP the file projet
- MySQL Integration (design tools, etc ?)
[- Integration of some platform like Drupal or Wordpress (intellisence and debut)
- Integartion with other HTML/Javascript framework (jquery, angular etc.) ]
- CONTROL + K + D indentation for all documents
Thanks for your opinion.Hi nicpulse,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
Since this forum is to discuss: Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation
and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor.
>>VS.PHP vs PHP TOOLS for Visual Studio : which is the best ?
Based on your issue, since the PHP Tools and VS.PHP are involved to the Extensions tool,
this extension tool is out of support range of this forum.
In my option, I think that there have no specified answer about which is the best in the
VS.PHP vs PHP TOOLS for Visual Studio.
It is just depend on which is appropriate for your requirement, so I suggest you can see the feature about the VS.PHP and
PHP Tools. And then choose which extension tool is appropriate your requirement.

In order to resolve your issue better, I suggest you post this issue to
PHP Tools
for Visual Studio or
VS.Php for Visual Studio, click “Q AND A”, you will get better support there.
Thanks for your understanding.

Dell Equallogic SAN HIT Kit support for SAP in Linux 11.2
Hello Everyone,
I would like to use an Equallogic SAN as storage in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11.2. Is the Equallogic SAN supported in Linux when using the HIT Kit to provide MPIO and snapshot support? The article from thorsten.staerk describes Equallogic SAN + Linux + native iSCSI (no mention of the HIT Kit). I understand that there are restrictions on using third party kernel modules.
My understanding is that the Equallogic MPIO driver will provide a faster, more efficient, connection to the SAN along with additional features.

EqualLogic Integration: Installation and Configuration of Host Integration Tools for Linux – HIT/Linux
The Dell EqualLogic HIT/Linux MPIO software consists of two components:
1. The EqualLogic Host Connection Manager daemon, ehcmd, which monitors the iSCSI session state and the configuration of the Linux server and PS Series group. Running in the background, the ehcmd daemon uses the Open-iSCSI management tool (iscsiadm) to add, remove, or modify iSCSI sessions to maintain an optimal number of iSCSI sessions. It also gathers information on the volume layout from the PS Series group.
2. A loadable kernel module, dm-switch, which implements a new Device Mapper target to the multipath devices. Based on the volume layout on the array members, the dm-switch module routes each I/O to the optimal path within the PS Series group.

The use of binary-only Linux kernel modules or drivers on the same server as SAP software is not recommended by SAP.
Thank You,
KevinI'll take a moment to provide an update on the solution. There were some issues with the initial configuration of the in guest iSCSI volumes. If I had to start from scratch, I would run all the storage through VMware. The last round of software updates appears to have resolved a potentially serious issue with iSCSI disconnects. iSCSI has run perfectly for two months now. I'll consider the issue resolved once I have six months without any iSCSI issues.
One remaining issue is that LVM won't initialize properly without implementing a custom init script. The init script work-around is simple and it works.
Configuration Overview:
VMware ESXi v5.5
Equallogic SAN (with v.7.0.3 firmware)
SUSE SLES v11.3
