Hello Maciek
there is an db2icrt.log.<Number> in the /tmp directory , that should match your db2icrt issued by sapinst . Please check this file first for error messages .
This message
"MDB-01006 DBI1010W The "-w" option specified in the db2icrt, db2iupdt or db2ilist command was ignored.
is just a warning , that the -w Option of db2icrt issued by sapinst is deprecated and ignored by db2icrt of newer DB2 versions . This message should not indicate the source of the problem .
Usually there is also the entire db2icrt instruction with parameters in sapinst_dev.log and you can run this db2icrt manually as root .
There is also an
   -d          turn debug mode on.
parameter for debugging db2icrt issues , but this you should use , when db2icrt also does not run when issued manually as root .
Also check , whether you have created the home directory for db2<db2sid> /db2/db2<db2sid> properly with the proper permissions .
Best regards
dirk

    It is not easy, really , it has taken many hours and at the End I got the problems,.
    so I have decided to pay 20 $ every month, and I can get an access IDES to SAP, ERP, ABAP.
    without any problem.  In ABAP, I have only Sflight ,SBOOK etc. but MARA, and others tables, dont exist, .

  • How to create a new database instance from an existing one?

    Hi, I basically want to create a snapshot of a production
    instance (version 8.1.7) for querying purposes. Would anyone
    tell me the steps involved? What I did as follows:
    1. Copy all data files to a new location
    2. Modify init.ora accordingly. I believe there is no separate
    control file for this version.
    But when I startup the instance, got this error:
    ORA-01103: database name 'TRITON' in controlfile is not 'HERCULE'
    What is missing? Do these data files contains links to the
    previous instance name?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi All,
    I need some help in recreating new database instance.
    Here are the steps I have done so far:
    1. Created a database with name 'LASTDB' using DBCA
    2. Connected to RMAN.
    3. RMAN>SET DBID=******; (of the source database)
    4. Connect to target. RMAN>connect target SYS/*****;
    5. Executed controlfile restore on RMAN.
         RMAN>Run{
    Allocate channel D1 Type DISK;
              Set controlfile autobackup format for device type DISK to
    ‘\\<ip_address>\Backup\Prod\%F’;
    Restore controlfile from autobackup;
    6. RMAN> ALTER DATABASE MOUNT;
    Now got an error saying ORA-01103: database name ‘PRODDB' in control file is not ‘LASTDB’
    I tried using NID to change the database name but it's throwing an error that database is not mounted.
    I have browsed a lot and found that I need to recreate a control file of the production database using ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE and should edit the trace file. But it also says to shutdown the source database which is production database and I cannot try that.
    Also I have tried adding a line to init.ora like lock_space_name = LASTDB. Also tried replacing everything from LASTDB to PRODDB but that didn't work either.
    I have been trying to find a solution to this. Please bear with me as I'm a beginner and please let me know how I can fix the error.
    I am running oracle 10.1.0.2.0 enterprise edition on windows 2000.
    Thanks for your patience,
    KG

  • Test Restore Database Instance from Cold backup

    Hi - I have a customer who is using an Oracle database instance not in archivelog mode
    currently, I have managed to persuade them to backup at least weekly using an RMAN cold backup.
    Prior to my being allowed to do anything else they want to perform a test restore from the cold backup
    I want to find a simple procedure to do this which will enable me to tick the box then hopefully I may be able to persuade them that Hot Backups are the way to go.
    Has anyone got any good suggestions for this please?

    Ah if only things were quite so simple - my hands are tied somewhat there isn't a second machine available at the moment so I was hoping to be able to run a test restore to the same machine !
    No they do not worry about data in this situation - Oracle is used almost as a query engine maybe a very odd solution as the actual data is not really held within this oracle database but the resultant queries are!
    Anyway I think I will just do a virtual restore using the restore database validate command then armtwist a couple of managers!
    One of the areas they had difficulty with is that apparently they had archivelogging on but the rate of writing archivelogs was huge and it was affecting performance. I am not knowledgeable enough to know how to tune that problem!!

  • Kernel _In_Page error when installing database instance on IDES 4.7e

    Dear expert,
    I was installing the database instance of the IDES 4.7e database instance and after 3.5 hour I received the blue screen of death with kernel_in_page_error memory dump.
    The system was installed on one single physical sata drive with different partitioned.
    My system have dual core 2.8ghz and 1 gig of RAM.
    Does anyone have experience with this? Is it because I did not install the NT patch as required in the IDES 4.6c version?
    Your assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

    I have solved the problem and have successfully installed IDES 4.7e.
    There were a few things I did and so I am not fully sure what solved the problem.
    But I think it is related to one of this:
    - update of patches of OS
    - add %JAVA_HOME%\bin to the system path
    - copy all installation files and data to the C: hard
      drive instead of using the dvd rom for the kernel dvd.

  • Problem installing Database Instance

    Help,
    I am installing the WAS 640 SR1 Abap on a sandbox running Windows 2003 Server.
    I've installed Oracle.
    Installed the Central Instance.
    But when I try to install the database instance with SAPInst, it gets to the stage:
    Prepare Oracle Network Configuration
    It then copies the Listener.ora and creates a new file Listener.1.ora
    Then the installation fails with the message:
    Unable to set time for file listener.1.ora
    Does anyone know how to solve this and continue the installation ?
    Thanks,
    Tomas.

    Hi,
    I solved it in the end and here's how I did it:
    I backed up the originals of the tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora and listener.ora
    then I renamed the originals of all three to something else which mean't that to SAPInst they didn't exist
    then I ran the installation and SAPInst worked fine because it created new files for each which it had no problem doing instead of trying to modify and save the original.
    Tomas.

    Hi Tomas,
    Firstly check that you are full administrator of the OS and check the following policy privileges are assigned to your user:
    Act as part of the operating system
    Increase quotas
    Replace a process level token
    Do this via:
    Navigate to the security policy console via:
    Start Menu>Settings>Control Panel>Administrative tools>Local Security Policy
    In the window for the Local Security Policy you will find each of the following policy above.
    Double click on each of the items listed & click the button “Add User or Group”. In the next window enter the username that you are performing the installation with and apply.
    If still the problem occurs "Take ownership" of the file system using the account that you are logged in with.
    This should get you past the problem
    Cheers
    Daniel
