Db2ldif.pl and db2bak.pl deadlocked directory server 5.0. Had to kill -9 directory server to clear it.

Docs say I can use these scripts while server is running. Has anyone used these? Has anyone encountered these problems? Thank you ahead of time.

Have you installed any service packs or is this plain old iDS 5.0? Are you trying to run db2ldif.pl and db2bak.pl at the same time? I would not recommend that.

Mp_statusreceiver directory over 50GB - MP has been removed from this server, but not completely?

I had a server run out of disk space today. Digging in, the ccm mp_statusreceiver directory had 650,000 files in it, over 50GB in size. From what I understand, I think that folder is queuing up messages to go from a management point to the primary
server, but the server in question had it's management point removed a couple of weeks ago. It seems like it's still gathering data to send, but not sending it to the primary server, and filling up the drive.
If that's the case, then it seems the management point didn't actually get removed from the server, even though it's no longer listed in the config manager console as a management point. (The server still has a DP on it.)
How can I clean up whatever remnants of the MP are installed on this server?

Yes, you need a path for mp.msi. I saw that is located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\bin\X64.

I have had some log-in problems with users. I have found that restarting the server helps. If this doesn't work, I rebuild permissions on the server, followed by opening up Workgroup Manager, go to the user's password, click on options and require that the user change password on the next log-in. For some reason, this will usually fix the problem. I then log in as the user, and "change" the password to the original one. Also note, that if you import a user, the password is not brought in. You must enter it for each user that you imported. Even so, I have often had to resort to the re-set password procedure to enable a log-in.

I have a win 2000 terminal server and a xserve with mac os x server 10.4.
After some problem I have decide to reinstall mac os x server and now I want to tell you what is the best type of server can I set? (to use windows 2000 terminal server)
I refer to open direcotry service!
do you advase Standalone Server? or Master?
or do you advise a Connection to a Directory System?
I have this doubt.

Lion Server problem - Computer is already a network directory server

So I purchased Lion Server to trial it at home and it is not going well. Initially I was having issues connecting to the web interfaces for profile manager, etc. The server was not responding and so I uninstalled server and reinstalled it from the Mac Store (FYI: Apple has charged me for the OS and the server app as a result of this for some reason!!!)
With Server reinstalled I went to set up the server as a network directory and am shown this message every time I try to set up the directory admin account: "Computer is already a network directory server - This computer is already configured to manage network accounts. It cannot be configured again."
This leaves me unable to set up any profile or device management, I have tried the following solutions:
Uninstall and reinstall server
Deleted ServerVersion plist
Reinstalled Lion
Reinstalled Lion with format of HDD (although I did recover from a Time Machine Backup which included settings)
Any help would be appreciated.

Unlikely. Based on the complete lack of detail of the issue provided it is entirely possible the same issue would occur.
Unless and until the user provides some actual details of the problem, there is nothing the indicate that the issue is with the iPhone.

Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

In Reporting Services, values for LogonUser, LogonDomain, and LogonCred are created when the report server connection is configured to use a domain account. As to the error that “The encrypted value for the "LogonCred" configuration setting cannot be decrypted”,
we can know that it relates to the domain account for report server connection.
To fix this issue, we can refer to the following steps:
Log in to SQL Server Database Engine in SQL Server Management Studio.
Under Security folder, give sufficient permissions for your domain account.
Open your Reporting Services Configuration (go to Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -> Configuration Tools -> Reporting Services Configuration)
Navigate to the Database Setup tab, select ‘Service Credentials’ as the Credentials Type, then type your domain account and password in there. Press Apply.
Restart the Report Server services.

I try to install i cloud on my new HP desk top and i get the message"you can't sign in because of a server error"

I also have the same problem. I've tried all fixes listed in other forums and nothing works. Running windows Vista 32 bit. Any working solutions yet? Tried every solution listed for the cmd prompt. Turned off antivirus and spyware. Rebooting about 100 times. Nothing works.

Db2ldif.pl and db2bak.pl deadlocked directory server 5.0. Had to kill -9 directory server to clear it.
