Dba_tab_modifications empty after statistics
Hello, Hello,
My aim is to collect information from dba_tab_modifications every hour, to audit DML activity on many tables.
But, the problem is, when statistics is computed on a table,the related line on dba_tab_modifications is deleted.
So, how can I do ?
Here is a simple
example :
create table toto as select * from dba_tables where 1 = 0 ;
exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(ownname=>'SYS',tabname=>'TOTO');
insert into toto select * from dba_tables where rownum < 101;
exec dbms_stats.flush_database_monitoring_info;
select * from dba_tab_modifications where table_name ='TOTO' and table_owner='SYS';
insert into toto select * from dba_tables where rownum < 101;
insert into toto select * from dba_tables where rownum < 101;
exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(ownname=>'SYS',tabname=>'TOTO');
exec dbms_stats.flush_database_monitoring_info;
select * from dba_tab_modifications where table_name ='TOTO' and table_owner='SYS';
Here is the spool :
Table dropped.
Table created.
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
100 rows created.
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
TABLE_OW TABLE PARTI SUBPA INSERTS UPDATES DELETES TIMESTAMP TRU DROP_SEGMENTS
SYS TOTO 100 0 0 21-OCT-13 NO 0
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
no rows selected
So "no rows selected" on dba_tab_modifications after "dbms_stats.gather_table_stats" ...
Best regards.
I went to verify with support about that 3 hour flush window as I had a doubt. I cant seem to reliably verify it, other than finding notes to say it used to be 3 hours, but now its once a day but might every 15 minutes but cant be relied on at all if the dml change doesnt exceed 10% . Anyone got a note to say exactly what it is in 11g and 12?
Why does DBA_TAB_MODIFICATIONS sometimes have no values (Doc ID 762738.1)
DBA_TAB_MODIFICATIONS Refreshed Only Once a Day from 10g (Doc ID 1476052.1)
I would dispute the fact it doesnt populate if DML change is less than 10%, Ive seen it populate with even 1 row change in a many rows table, the dba_tab_statistics then uses that figure to work out if changes are stale.
Anyway, all in all, it cant be trusted to get the info OP wants.

File Browse is emptied after failed validation
Why does the file browse text box get emptied after a failed validation? Is there any way to prevent this?
To further explain, create a form on a page with two page items, a text box and a file browse item, then put a not null validation on the text box. When you submit the page with a null text box, but with a file selected for the browse button, then validation catches and throws the error message back to the user when the page refreshes. However, the file browse text box is emptied, and the user has to reselect the file before resubmitting the page.
Is this a bug, or just the way it is supposed to work? Any way around it?
Thanks,
Kris
Edited by: kshenn on Oct 31, 2008 7:06 AMHello,
>> Is this a bug, or just the way it is supposed to work?
This is not a bug. Actually, it has nothing to do with APEX. The behavior of the file browse item is controlled by the HTML standard, which clears the field for security reasons.
If you pay close attention to Denes example, you’ll see that even when the validation error page is displayed, the file browse item itself is being cleared. The JavaScript generated file path is the one that retain its value. I don’t have access to Denes code, but I’m assuming that in his uploading procedure he’s using the JavaScript generated path.
>> Any way around it?
Where the file browse item is concern, no workaround.
In your specific case, where the validation you need is “not null”, you can create a JavaScript validation, and fire it before submitting the page (as part of the submit button). That way, the browser will not clear the file browse item, because the page will not be submitted without proper values in your items.

RW_SERVER_JOB_QUEUE table empty after running the report in 11g
Hello,
I set up Job StatusRepository in our environment ( Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.4 Win 2008 x32) as explained in Oracle Support note "How to Setup jobStatusRepository Feature in Reports 11g? [ID 858200.1]"
The table RW_SERVER_JOB_QUEUE is always empty after running the report.
I have checked another note "RW_SERVER_JOB_QUEUE table is empty [ID 1200613.1]" but the user who is running the report is the same as the user who " the user name where you run $ORACLE_HOME\reports\admin\sql\rw_server.sql script" so there is no grant problem to write to this table.
Here is the excerpt of rwserver.conf file:
<demo:jobStatusRepository class="oracle.reports.server.JobRepositoryDB">
<demo:property value="csf:reports:repo" name="dbpassword"/>
<demo:property value="blvdev" name="dbconn"/>
<demo:property value="pdmain" name="dbuser"/>
</demo:jobStatusRepository>
I n log file there is an error:

Have anybody had the same issue in 11g?
Thanks,
AlexHere is the solution I found and I would like to share if anybody is interested :
Check the following Oracle Support Notes:
ALERT - After Applying Patchset 11.1.1.4, Fusion Middleware Control Inserts "demo:" Tags in Conf Files of Reports Server- ENVID Section Stops Working [ID 1298701.1]
After applying patchset 11.1.1.4 to Reports Server, any configuration changes through Fusion Middleware Control inserts "demo:" tags in the beginning of each line in conf file of Report Server.
The behaviour is described in the following bug :
Bug:11784251 MBEAN BROWSER ADDS A DEMO TAG IN RWSERVER.CONF AT EACH LINE
So you I removed all demo tags in rwserver.conf
<jobStatusRepository class="oracle.reports.server.JobRepositoryDB">
<property value="csf:reports:jobrepo" name="dbpassword"/>
<property value="repteam.us.oracle.com" name="dbconn"/>
<property value="jobrep11g" name="dbuser"/>
</jobStatusRepository>
Regarding : PKI-02002 error:
Error PKI-02002: Unable to open the wallet. Check password When Starting a Reports Server [ID 1316651.1]
Temporary file cannot be created in temporary directory.
After checking the wallet I simply changed the following lines
<variable id="TEMP" value="C:\Users\oracle\AppData\Local\Temp\2"/>
<variable id="TMP" value="C:\Users\oracle\AppData\Local\Temp\2"/>
to
<variable id="TEMP" value="C:\TEMP"/>

because the folder C:\Users\oracle\AppData\Local\Temp\2 was not created.

After installing iphoto 9.5 some of my projects (photobooks) are completely or partly empty after regenerating, how can I get them back?
Define "everything" because if you've tried everything then your last recourse is:
1 - restore your backup copy of your iPhoto Library created just prior to your Yosemite upgrade or
2 - Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Open the library package like this.
2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note: your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired. -
Ipod Shuffle suddenly emptied after two to three days not use..
I had a problem which is my ipod shuffle suddenly emptied after two to three days i left in my room. What's the problem actually can be turn be like this since it's the first time i through it..please send me an email regarding this at [email protected] Thank You!
Okay, and thanks for re-posting your photos. I have to agree that it definitely does look like crimping and would expect any continuity checks run on it to show an open or two. That would certainly explain your symptoms, but it's not the answer for all such cases, i.e., BLD, being reported here.
I've now purchased two 'broken' Shuffle's on eBay, both coming off of M$ systems and reporting the blinkies. The first was Alive on Arrival and is still living happily on a daughter's eMac. The second was totally dead, with no reaction at all to anything I did; it's now disassembled, with no evidence of your crimping on the ribbon cable, while I mull over buying an LI battery and getting someone to solder it in for me.
In your place I'd certainly be taking my evidence to Apple and pointing out that, at the end of the day, it was just a matter of pure luck that it managed to last as long with this defect as it did. I think you should be able to convince them to give you some sort of satisfaction on this, but appreciate your desire not to go through the bother of it. -

Mailboxes STILL empty after importing from 10.3.9 to 10.4.11
Hi... I've been spending the last couple of days trawling the web (incl. this site) for solutions and have found similar postings, but they were either unresolved, or didn't really match my situation. So please excuse me if this is partially repetitive but hopefully someone can point me in a specific direction for resolution.
1) Under Mail 1.3.11 (Panther 10.3.9) I had stored several years of email (8+ GB... unfortunately my work requires me to keep everything) from 3 accounts - 1x IMAP, 2x POP. Most of my mail had been reorganised into various folders and mailboxes that contained a mixture of emails from all 3 source accounts. As far as I know, everything was healthy - no corruptions etc. except for the ubiquitous "not downloaded from server, take account online" problem.
2) When I transitioned to Mail 2.1.3 (Tiger 10.4.11) I used the Migration Assistant and got all my old Mail data over, changed all the file and folder permissions in olduser-Library-Mail to read and write, and used Import within Tiger Mail (and using the Other option as well). Everything seemed to move over into an Imported folder, and my hierarchy of subfolders remained correct, but all of them are empty.
3) Some suggestions I've found online have been to Rebuild the "empty" mailboxes/subfolders but the Rebuild option is grayed out whenever I select any mailbox/folder/subfolder.
4) There were some other suggestions to tinker with the insides of newuser-Library-Mail or olduser-Library-Mail but these were not for situations identical to mine so I'm hesitant to try for fear of making things worse.
5) For the moment, to continue working, I've set up a new account under Mail to fetch and send from my main IMAP account, but I don't have any of my old emails for reference ie. my new Tiger Mail has one mailbox (the Inbox) containing all my incoming mail from AFTER the upgrade... everything prior to that is on an external firewire drive that I can boot into (the old 10.3.9) as a reference backup. Curiously, eventhough I've set the new Tiger Mail to keep copies of outgoing mail, my Sent box remains empty and sometimes when I'm composing outgoing mail, I get a warning pop up about being unable to save into my IMAP outbox.
Do all of the above give any gurus out there a lightbulb moment as to what my problem might be and how I can solve it? Any help will be rewarded with eternal gratitude and my first grandchild. OK, maybe not the latter, but please help anyway!No, Mail in 10.4 is not crap; it's actually better and more reliable than Mail in 10.5. So here's what I would do, though this will not preserve any folder hierarchy--you'd have to manually do that:
1. In your Panther Mail program, choose an account, a mailbox (Inbox for this example), and Select All messages in that mailbox.
2. Choose Save As… and choose Raw Message Source from the dialog window, then choose a destination (your Desktop) and save the file as Inbox.mbox.
3. After that file is saved, go to your Desktop and create two new folders: one named Inbox and the other named Mailbox.
4. Put the Inbox.mbox file inside the Mailbox folder, and the Mailbox folder inside the Inbox folder. Copy the nested folder/file to the Tiger machine if necessary so you can access it from Tiger Mail.
5. Open Tiger Mail, choose File >Import Mailboxes…, select Other from the list of import options, then navigate to the Inbox folder and select Choose. The file Inbox.mbox should appear in the window; click Continue and wait for the import to finish. You can then move the Inbox messages out of the Import folder to wherever you like in Tiger Mail.
6. Rinse and repeat for your other mailboxes, changing the names of nested folders/files as necessary.

Materialized view is empty after 5 minutes
After successful usage in our dev environment, I went to migrate a snapshot to QA only to find that after about 5 minutes, it was empty. Here are all the facts/symptoms I could think of, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light - I'm stumped.
- on creation, ddl runs < 1 second with these options
TABLESPACE BPF_DATA
NOCACHE
LOGGING
NOPARALLEL
BUILD IMMEDIATE
REFRESH FORCE ON DEMAND
WITH PRIMARY KEY
- the tables selected include a remote query
- rows exist for about 5 mins
- after about 5 mins (give or take 1 minute), status goes to needs_compile, all rows disappear (the weirdest part)
- We discovered this after attempting to run dbms_mview.refresh, and it was taking forever
- no dml being done on 4 underlying tables
- 4 separate test snapshots were created as "select * from" underlying tables, none went to needs_compile
- doco says it's expected behaviour when applying dml to underlying tables (regarding statuses), except we don't apply any dml, and rows shouldn't disappear
- if I do actually apply some dml, the relevant test snapshot has different staleness/after_fast_refresh settings, more inline with expected behaviour
- doesn't happen in dev environment
- I could find no metalink entries regarding problem
Any ideas?Hi,
This_date is just the date time that the job was started by the job process, it's OK if this_date is a little bit greater than next_date, because very rarely do jobs start exactly at their scheduled time, depends on jobqueue_interval and how many job processes are free at that time. It just means that the date time it started was slightly later than the date time that it was asked to be run at.
However the fact that total_time is resetting is odd. This should accumulate (it does on all jobs that I've seen, I've just checked my own little bevy of dba jobs). Are you sure the failures column isn't increasing?
And you don't need the DBA to tell you what's in the alert log, do you have the CREATE ANY DIRECTORY privilige?

[BUG?] af:table table empty after descending sort and remove
Hi,
I think i found a bug.
I have an af:table binded to an arraylist in a backingbean. This List consist of an object that represents two strings (value 1 and 2).
Now when the table is loaded and I sort descending on one of the columns. After sorting i'll try to remove a row. The correct row is published to the bean with an af:setPropertyListener and removed from the arraylist. But when the table is rendered again there are no values in the table. But the arraylist still has all remaining values which will be shown after a sort again.
Fun fact: it only happens when sorting descending.
Anyone got an idea?

audit-core oracle.ide.audit.core 11Hi Harry (and others),
I have seen similar behavior. It seems like the client side rendering for some reason has a hard time processing the collection model wrapping the ArrayList in this particular case. The table renders empty. After sorting in ascending order, the rows are all back (visible) again.
Is anyone aware of issues with the rich table based directly on ArrayList (in combination with a changing set of values and/or sorting)? (seems like a corner case but is still not uncommon). Is there any indication that wrapping the ArrayList in a CollectionModel ourselves might be required?
Harry: do you know whether this issue is introduced with PS3 (11.1.1.4) or already existed in previous releases?
kind regards,
Lucas -

Hello,
I'm doing BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE for moviment '315'.
After i run the BAPI, when i go to MB03, the field "Mat. Slip" is empty and does not appear on the screen!
I'm using the following parameters:

t_saida-werks TO t_bapiitem-plant,
t_saida-lgort TO t_bapiitem-stge_loc,

And when i run the same process with MIGO, the field appears.
Best Regards,
Reginaldo BorgesHi,
You have to fill in the header:

Critical issue - delta queues for LIS empty after upgrade BW3.5
The delta queue in R/3 for LIS sources (S260-261-262) remains empty,
even after a successful init delta. Hence I cannot extract delta
records.
BW3.5
PI2004.1
Does the BW upgrade has an effet on the delta queue management in R/3 ?
The previous configuration BW2.0B PI2004.1 did work fine in that
respect.
Laurent Querella
BI Consultant ALTILaurent,
from OSS Note 534296 'LBW0: DataSource generation possible for SAP info str.' you can read:
"(...)it is no longer possible to generate DataSources for info structures (transfer) Snn delivered by SAP (where nnn is between 001 and 500) in the BW interface for LIS info structures (TR: LBW0) in the OLTP. (...)The corresponding DataSources are delivered with the Business Content."
I think this is the issue...
However, are you saying that all infostructures are empty ?
And from where your init is taking data ?
After an init your delta tables have to be empty...did you empty all these tables before doing your upgrade ?

ITunes playlist empty after moving music folder
I have recently moved my music folder to a different partition on my PC. After doing that, my entire song list, including playlists, has vanished from iTunes.
I tried changing the media folder location by going to edit -> preferances -> advanced.
I tried holding Shift when starting iTunes and choosing the correct folder.
I tried exporting the playlist from my iPhone and importing back into iTunes (got an error message that the music could not be located).
None of the above worked...
What can I do now?
Keep in mind that I don't want to import my entire music directory back into iTunes, since I don't have enought storage space on my phone to sync the whole thing onto it.
Any ideas?
Thanks!Hold down shift as you start iTunes. You should get a prompt to choose or create a library. Click choose. Browse to the folder for your relocated library and open the file iTunes Library.itl. If it still comes up empty, close iTunes and use the following technique...
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Pcd folder is empty after installation
Hi All,
I have installed SAP Netweaver sneak preview 7.0.Server is running fine.I tried to get logon par (com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par) from
<J2EE_Engine_Instance>\j2ee\cluster\server<X>\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd.But the pcd is empty.I tried to get same through support after login to portal.
Is this problem with installation or ?
How can i get the par file in this case.
Regards,
MadhvikaHi Harini,
I did search on entire server folder to look for com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.
It found out same at location <J2EE_Engine_Instance>\j2ee\cluster\server<X>\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\temp.
But question here is why pcd is empty and all par files are inside temp.
any idea?
Again is it due to fault installation of server?
