Dbassist crashes

Question

Running Redhat 6.2 with Oracle 8.1.6. I Try to run dbassist to setup sharing with mts from dedicatd mode. It crashes with no messages. Should I run the 8.1.5.0.2 patch to fix this or leave well enough alone and edit the .ora file manually ?

the last one was a 'glitch'. Sorry.
Okay, I just got oracle 8i2 up and running on my slackware system (7.0). I had to create to sym links in order to get everything running:
1. ln -s /usr/bin/akw /bin/awk
2. ln -s /bin/free /usr/bin/free (for dbassit to get going)
If everything will work, I will see over the next couple of weeks.
I hope it works, I would like to get through the pain and move to another distro.
