DBCA + Insufficient Priviledges

Hello,
I just finished intalling Oracle 9i Database with the OUI.
I invoked the DBCA to create a new database, at the moment that the database is fully parametrised and is ready to be created, I get a message:
ORA-01034: Insufficient Priviledges
How can I resolve this problem ?

Insufficient privileges is raised when you attempt a sysdba connection and you connect without providing sysdba password. This password is requested on unix environments when you attempt a connection with a user different from oracle (dba privileged group).
By default dba group is choosen as the default privileged group at install time, but you could have selected something else.
Verify if you are performing dbca actions directly logged in with oracle user. It is a very frequent issue people try to perform dba actions with root.

I'm am trying to upgrade to the newest ITunes version. Whenever I try to do anything like this I get the following message "The installer has insufficient priviledges to access this directory...." Can anyone help? Thanks

I am trying to download the newest version of ITunes. When I try the download, it starts and after a bit the following message appears "The installer has insufficient priviledges to access this directory: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Start\Menu\Programs\ITunes The installation can not continue...."

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your taking the time to help me with this problem. I'm doing a healing technician training class at my church, and have most of my study material on my ipod. It cashed this weekend which hindered my preparation for my class tomorrow night. I went to the local "Apple Store" late last night and they could get me up and running. They suggested that I call the APL CARD line which I did today, but they gave me a nice run around seccession, and did nothing. Then I was lead to "Google" my question, which eventually lead me to the "Apple" site. Praise the LORD for your help and may you be richly blessed with multiplied blessings in all that you put your hands to do. May you receive a great harvest. As far as I'm concerned you were used by the LORD, and are the real genius!!!

Installer has insufficient priviledges to access directory...

When installing 9.0, I get all the way to the end then get an error stating
"Error 1303: The installer has insufficient priviledges to access this directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Resource\Font\PFM. The installation cannot continue. Log on as an administrator or contact your system administrator."
Sounds easy enough, but I already am logged on as the administrator. This is my personal computer and I have the only user account on the system. It lists my user account as the administrator. Being the only user account on the system, it's impossible to NOT be the administrator anyway.
What am I missing? The previous version of Reader has disappeared and I cannot view any PDF files. I am using Vista as my OS on an HP Pavillion Entertainment PC (laptop).

I am having the same error on Vista and, like you, I am an administrator (it's my personal laptop). I followed the instructions here:

...(not noticing that that solution addressed the Program Data folder, not the Program Files folder), and it didn't work, but I wonder if a similar procedure on Program Files would work. But I don't know anything about theVista security system, so I'm a little wary of trying it. Would appreciate any thoughts.

OMG.........I am ready to throw my PC, and IPHONE through the window. I am having issues with my ITUNES. I deleted everything possible to ITUNES and APPLE and now that I am reinstalling ITUNES, I am getting this error message.

That one can indicate file/disk damage. So the first thing I'd try would be running a disk check on the C drive.
There's instructions in the following document. Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

Does the disk check find/repair any damage? If so, reboot the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

UmeshNo, a regular user should never be granted <privilege> ANY <objec> privileges. These are all extremely powerful privileges that will allow an unsophisticated user to accidentally destroy your database, and a sophisticated user to deliberately destroy your database.
The only privilege required here is execute on dbms_stats.

upon creating new indexes, using the command :

Insufficient priviledges to access backup files ... ? Cannot migrate data

Need help. I have a WD 320 gig drive with (3) Partitions:
1. Mac OS File system
2. Mac OS File system
3. MS DOS file system
I am trying to migrate the files and dir's on this drive to another, but am unable to. History:
The drive was used as a USB/FW backup. Time machine can access and write to the Mac partitions. The drive has been backed up both via FW/USB and Airport disk. Drive is now filling up and I cannot access the backup files (dir's) to copy them: " Sorry, you do not have sufficient access priviledges..."
If I disconnect and try to migrate the files manually via FW or USB - I get a similar error. Windows is visible both online and off. What gives ? Is this a result of Airport disk ? Time Machine ? or both ?
I used to be able to migrate files on and off just fine. By only recourse will be to partition and erase it seems. Need any help ......thanks

airport disk TM backups are stored differently from backups to directly attached drives. remote backups are stored inside a sparse bundle. you can simply copy the sparse bundle to a new location. backups to directly attached drives do not use sparse bundles. they can not be migrated by hand. if you need to migrate them you'll have to clone the partition they are currently on. use CCCloner or Superduper for that.

Canot install update - mac has insufficient priviledges - what does that mean?

I get the box that says firefox has a security update that should be installed asap - go through all the steps - everything fine up to replacing this version for the older version then it says cannot install as I have insufficient privileges. The next time I use firefox the update alert comes up again . I have MAC OSX 10.5.8

Ora-01031 insufficient priviledges during DBUA

I am upgradingfrom 9.2.0.8 to 10.2 i had started dbua in the process it is showing theerror of above mentioned thing in subject matter so i had referred to Metalink document 308377.1
I had upgradeed 11i database frm 9.2.0.5 to 9.2.0.8 just for information i mentioned
Please anybody has idea can share their experience in this issue.

for this issue some body has suggested like this :
In 9.2.0.8 Home if you have orapwd file...then move it to 10.2.0 home and if you have any softlink for orapwd file then recreate it in 10.2.0 home and restart the DBUA .
my question :
in 9.2.0.8 home orapwPROD is existing when i opened it is in binary format. In 10.2.0.1 home i had created the orapwORCL. in both homes files is existed what is necessity of creating softlink please clarify on this.

AIX- Insufficient priviledges ORA-0131

We are facing the above problem on 10gR2 .
We have rebooted the server but again we are in fix.
We have checked the DBA group and other related permission issues.

So... startup and what? What happens next? The db was opened? The db was mounted? Where the errors happens?
Please, provide more details. Paste the steps to get the error.
