Dbca: ORA-01092

after installing the oracle software, I ran dbca to create the DB.
However, a pop-up message appears:
ORA-01092: Oracle instance terminated. Disconnection forced.
the trace file shows:

Hi ,
Have you check your alert.log? It may show you some clues on what is happening. The cause of this error are normally instance was terminated abnormally, probably due to a SHUTDOWN ABORT.

Oracle 11g Installation DBCA ORA-01034: Oracle Not Available
I have two oracle databases installed (using the default settings in dbca) and running on a Windows 2003 R2 server, already.
However, when I try and create a third using the defaults, after 2%, dbca receives an ORA-01034: Oracle Not Available and stops the creation process.
I've searched 16 hours or so for a similar issue, but haven't had much luck other than to check sqlnet.ora for OS authentication, the registry keys, and tnsnames.ora.
I've looked at the trace log for dbca a few times for the different attempts at creating a new database, and they tend to differ when the error is generated.
Looking at Event Viewer, I noticed that connection events occurred during installation, and that for at least one case, CONNECT / AS SYSDBA occured 3 times before the error was generated.
I've made more than 3 databases on another machine (XP - not server 2003), without any issue, but it seems odd that this error would be because of server 2003.
I'm fairly inexperienced with configuring databases for Oracle, so please excuse my ignorance.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.I found out from another dba that oracle takes up 1 gb of memory by default. So creating 2 databases with default settings means that 2 gb of memory was taken on a windows 32 bit server. So that means only 2 gb is available to the machine, and the server takes up more than half of that making the memory available scarce for another oracle database to be created.

When trying to create new DB ORA-01109 ORA-01092
Hi all,
When I try to create a new database on a two-node clustered machine using dbca and the "General Purpose" template, it returns ORA-01109 ORA-01092 errors.
Following is what I did:
1. Installed Oracle 10 Release 2 on the two Oracle Enterprise Linux 4.5 nodes
2. Installed patch set 3 (upgrade from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.4)
3. Installed Oracle clusterware on both nodes
4. Installed ASM instance
5. when I used the dbca to create a new db, it returns DB ORA-01109 ORA-01092
I guess, the reason is that the seed of the "General Purpose" template was not upgraded by the patch set. If this is the case, my questions are:
*(1) Why the patchset didn't upgrade the template seeds? Is it a bug?*
*(2) How to upgrade the template seeds?*

i ran dbca and i selected "General Purpose". then i have written Global Database Name and SID. then i checked "Configure the Database with Enterprise Manager" and selected "Use Databse Control for Database Management" and i clicked Next. then i have written same Password for All Accounts. then select "File System" option. then i selected "Use Common Location for All Database Files" option (not select "Use Database File Locations from Template" option) and i have written "{ORACLE_BASE}/oradata" for Database Files Location and i clicked next. then i checked "Specify Flash Recovery Area" for "Choose the recovery options for the database" page (already default values for this page) and clicked next. then default values for next page and i clicked next. then default values for next page(memory, sizing,character sets,connection mode tabs) and i clicked next. and then i clicked Finish button. and when processing %40, i have an error called by ORA-01092.
wonder in a place I do wrong??? i wonder, did i make a mistake at setup the oracle 10gR2 and patch? but setup has succeeded.

I installed Oracle9.2 on my RedHat Linux8. I only couldn't install dbca. I also was able to run SQLPLus.
When I run dbca it gives me warning saying and showing that I don't have enough memory, but allows to proceed when I run it I get error saying 'ORA-01092 instance terminated Disconnection forced', another error says 'write error' What does it mean? How to solve this problem?
Note: I set enough memory in /etc/sysctl.conf with kernel.shmmax=1073741824 which should be enough.
But warning message says that I don't have that much memory?!

Try This..
Check that the database is completely down:
a.- Shutdown all the instance proccess
ps -ef |grep SID kill -9 PID
b.- Remove the following files if they exist: $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/sgadefSID.ora $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/lknSID
c.- Check that there is sufficient space and privilegies on:
-- Traces and Logs Directories
-- InitSID.ora
d.- Shared memory segments and semaphores associated with this instance must be released:
ipcs -s --> List Semaphores taken by user ipcs -m --> List Shared Memory segments taken by user

Are you create UNDO TABLESPACE or specify undo tablespace creation in CREATE DATABASE command.
post your CREATE database command with ALERT<SID>.LOG file.

What I can guess is this all is happenning because system datafile OS block got currupted....is it so or some other reason?....and how to resolve this issue?Hi,
Since it is system tablespace, you can't open the DB. If you can't open the db you can't use dbms_repair. Also DBV doesn't change the content of the file so that also not going to help.
So only open left is to do point in time recovery.

Hi,
I have following scenario.
I have setup dataguard in which Primary and standby are of diffrent oracle releases.
PRimary database : 10.2.0.1.0
Stand by : 10.2.0.4.0
Primary database - Windows 2000
Standby : Windows -2008
I have sync both database in mount mode.
But when I tried to open stand by database it is giving below error.
ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated Disconnection forced on standby

8i on Win2K - always disconnects with ORA-01092- why??
I have installed ORACLE 8i, Designer and Tutorial on my Win2000 PC. All installed successfully, & I used them for a day. Overnight a power cut caused abnormal shutdown, & now I cannot connect to anything! I get "ORA-01092 - Oracle instance terminated. Disconnection forced". I have stopped and restarted the oracle service, checked the Net8 config which looks OK to my (non DBA) eye. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks, but I have solved my problem. Found a log file that was looking for a redo log named "--". Eventually tracked down my init.ora where I had carefully commented my changes with "--" instead of "#". I told you I wasn't a DBA!!

I'm using Enterprise Linux Red hat 5 (OS), oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0)
while startup the database I'm getting below error message.

In alert log file having message, Redo log file s corrupted.
I try to recover the redo log,using
allow_resetlogs_corruption=True parameter in pfile.
and start the DB in mount stage,and
restore database;
alter database open resetlogs;
Using this method i got the same error ora - 01092
and tried to rman incomplete recovery i cant solve issue
