I would suggest un-installing via the Windows control panel and then download again and re-install. Try an alternative link and validate with your 24 digit serial number - click here for PSE downloads

  • When I pressed the power button it hangs on the welcome screen and what wrong with the system

When power on the MacPro it hangs on the welcome screen. What should I do to overcome this issue

I would recomend reseting the PRAM. A small amount of your computer’s memory, called “parameter random-access memory” or PRAM, stores certain settings in a location that Mac OS X can access quickly. The particular settings that are stored depend on your type of Mac and the types of devices connected to it. The settings include your designated startup disk, display resolution, speaker volume, and other information.
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Immediately press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.Continue holding the keys down until the computer restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
Resetting PRAM may change some system settings and preferences. Use System Preferences to restore your settings.  Hope this helps!

  • Windows 7 won't load past the welcome screen

I'm trying to boot up my laptop but it keeps hanging on the welcome screen. I go through the password page and then it just sticks on the welcome screen with the little spinning circle. It does the same in safe mode but the circle is completely frozen
on the welcome screen and then it gets no further. I don't have a windows recovery CD. Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I suggest boot into Recovery Console to perform System Restore to test the issue.
    1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer using the computer's power button.
    2. Do one of the following:
If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windowslogo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon
prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to repair, and then press and hold F8.
    3. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Repair your computer, and then press Enter. (If Repair your computer isn't listed as an option, then your computer
doesn't include preinstalled recovery options, or your network administrator has turned them off.)
    4. Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.
    5. On the System Recovery Options menu, click
    System Restore.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 Organiser does not start from the welcome screen

Having installed Photoshop Elements 11(Windows 7)  I cannot open the Organiser from the welcome screen. It can be opened via the Editor but few of the thumbnails are shown as pictures rather as empty squares. The situation does not improve with time but tends to get worse with pictures turning into squares. I have tried the tip with preferences but to no avail. I would be very grateful for some help. Best Regards Ian Tomlinson

Try pressing Ctrl+A (to select all thumbnails) and then refresh again (Edit >> Update Thumbnails for selected items). If that makes no difference you may need to regenerate the cache.
It may be worth rebuilding the thumbnail cache before re-installing. Click the menu:
Help >> System info to find the path to your catalog.
    1. Close Organizer.
    2. Navigate to C: ProgramData/Adobe/Elements Organizer/Catalogs/My Catalog
    3. Find the file - thumb.5.cache
    4. Highlight the file and delete it.
    5. Re-start Elements Organizer
    6. Wait until all thumbnails have been generated.
N.B. ProgramData may be a hidden system file:

  • Stop installing Tiger before the Welcome screen appears

I would like to give my Mac away as a gift to a newbie and consider it nice to give him a Mac that feels like being delivered from the factory.
This means: I would like him to see the welcome screen first (the one where all the Welcomes in hundred different languages appear immediately after you power up your Mac for the first time ever).
Unfortunately, after following the usual process of starting from recovery disk, erasing the Hard Drive and installing the OS it starts this screen automatically. I do not see a way to stop it or make sure that it appears again upon next power up of the Mac. On the contrary: You must enter your personal settings immediately.
I read something about this years ago and think I remember it was a UNIX-Code which had to be entered. But even if so: Where can I enter? I cannot open Terminal in this stage?
Power Mac G5 2x 2.0   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Casual User, but my first Mac is still here: The 128k from 1985

    @Steve:
The good news: I do not have to be ashamed of myself.
The bad news: No, you cannot go up to Setup Assistent menu bar.
After the installing process is finished the Mac runs into the described "Welcome" windows and asks for registration and setup of an administrator account. There is absolutely nothing you can do to avoid that. There is no menu bar, no button, no nothing.
All the good advices here and elsewhere are talking of entering commands or starting in single-user mode or other, but you simply cannot go into anything. Even the keyboard shortcuts (cmd-alt-esc, etc.) do not work.
I have found a workaround which I really hesitated to use but it obviously works: During the floating around of the "Welcome" logos I pushed the On-Off switch for 8 seconds thereby killing the Mac. After a restart it starts exactly with the "Welcome" window and asks for registration. But this is really not a nice way to treat a Mac.
    Thank you anyway.

  • Please allow us to disable the Welcome Screen in Acrobat X for Windows!

When another program launches a .pdf and it calls Acrobat X Pro to load, the welcome screen hangs everything up.  If it's an option for Mac OS, it should be for Windows too.  If there is a registry key or the likes that I can modify, by all means, please tell me!

Where are you trying to access your iCloud account, and from what device?
If you are trying to access your iCloud account at http://www.icloud.com/ from an iOS device, you can't. The iCloud.com website is not designed to be accessed from iOS devices - access it on your Mac.
Your Time Machine and WD external backups and Carbon Copy backups are nothing to do with iCloud, so I don't know what you think accessing iCloud will achieve in your situation anyay.

Why am I unable to get welcome screen when I launch elements 13

It could be because you have either changed the settings or the settings was changed by somebody who has access to your machine.  Anyway, you can get it back by going to:
    Help >> Welcome screen
Now when you get the welcome screen, click on the small gear icon and change the settings from there.  See this picture (the gear is marked in red box):
You will get another screen that looks like this after you have made the necessary changes:
    Hope this helps.

  • Photoshop Elements 9 only opens to the Welcome screen.

Elements 9 only opens to the Welcome screen. Organiser and Edit will not open. I cannot deactivate the programe so I can re-install. I have tried pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift but nothing happens.

    Hi Barry,
The Welcome screen sometimes leaves a process running which can cause a problem which is why I suggested bypassing it.
If you reboot the system and avoid the welcome screen by using the direct link does that work?
When you tried resetting the preferences (Ctrl + Alt + Shift when starting up the editor from the direct link), did you see the message asking you to confirm the deletion? You need to hold the keys down all the time it is loading.
Turning to the organizer, try loading it from the direct link above but hold the shift key down whilst it loads. It should enter the Catalog Manager. Select your current catalog and click on the Repair button to see if it finds any errors.
    Good luck
    Brian
