Dbconsole for metadata repository in 10.1.2

I have installed infrastructure from as_portal_wireless 10.1.2.0.0 package.
How I can run dbconsole for metadata repository db 10.1.0.3.1 from this distr?
tnx.

Hi Denis,
The end of installation screen should give you an URL
like http://localhost.localdomain:5500/em for the
database console.
Can I add dbconsole to my repository's cold failover cluster group ? Im not found any info in docs about it ...

    1. I have just recently completed a Middle Tier and Identity Mangement upgrade to 10.1.2.0.2 from version 9.0.4.1.
    2. I was able to successfully run the MRUA upgrade script for upgrading our Portal Repository (customer database).
Our Metadata Repository database is at version 9.2.0.8. Has anyone seen these errors or had this problem?
The MRUA CD that I have is labelled "Oracle Metadata Repository Upgrade Assistant and Utilities 10g (10.1.2.0.2) for AIX based systems".
But in the errors I see "OracleAS Metadata Repository Upgrade Assistant 10.1.4.0.1". Is something wrong there? Should it say 10.1.2.0.2?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Found out from Oracle that the "oracle/sysman/oii/oiio/oiiol/OiiolTextLogger" class is in the $ORACLE_HOME/oui/jlib/OraInstaller.jar file and as per their suggestion added the jar file to the $classpath list of jar files in the mrua.pl script. • Metadata Repository install to existing db

    Hello,
I am trying to install and configure a Metadata Repository to a 10.2.0.1 database, I know that you must use the Repository creation assistant, but i am having trouble locating this tool. I already have the db installed and set up. Does the repCA ship with the database, or do I need to install the application server next to access it?
    Cheers!
    Jordan

Would I be able to accomplish the same task using the Repository Administration Utility that ships with Developer Suite? There're no such utility for Metadata Repository in Developer Suite!!! There are however a tool to create a Designer Repository, but that's something quite different.
Please note that if you're going to use a 10.2 database, then you must download the version I wrote! There's a version that comes on the AS10g Disk set, but that doens't support 10.2.

  • Metadata repository - how find ?

Sorry for my broken english :)
I must describe metadata OWB Repository.
But the problem is that i cant find any boks about that.
I run Enterprise Manager Console, i See many tables, but don;t know
which are for metadata repository use. Maybe someone can gaive some help ?
Maybe it is possible to extract metadata repository only ?

OWB repository tables is not documented publicly by Oracle.
The only method for extraction information about OWB projects structure and execution results is selecting data from OWB public views.
OWB repository public views are located under OWB repository database schema (DB user). For OWB11g this user is OWBSYS, for earlier OWB releases this DB user specified during creation of OWB repository.
If you use OWB11g please read this thread:

it explains how you can make the metadata repository available throught a web-page (very easy!)

  • Can I install Metadata Repository for 10.1.2.0.2 on Oracle 10.2.0 database

Does any one know if the Metadata Repository of OracleAS 10.1.2.0.2 can be install on an existing Oracle 10.2.0 database ?
The MRCA tool is giving me this message "Oracle Metadata Repository cannot be loaded into this version of the database. Please see the installation guide for more information on supported database versions ...."

According to the Installation Guide, Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.x) and Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (10.1.x) are supported. See the following for more specific information:

  • Understanding storage for MetaData "document" repository

    Hello Community,
We are running BW on an Oracle database, and I'm trying to understand what happens when I attach a document to the MetaData `document` repository.  To get to the repository, we go to RSA1 --> Documents
From the "content storage" tab after pressing the the administration button, I can see the content repository is <b>BDS_DB8</b>, which appears to store documents in the database table <b>BDSCONT8</b>.
(While a table name is listed, I would imagine that new documents added to the repository would be insterted into the database as BLOBs)
What I'm trying to understand is :
where to documents go when they're inserted into the repository ?
if I add a 1 Mb document to the repository, does the database grow in size by exactly 1 Mb ?
what are other details to consider re: storage and disk usage when using the MetaData repository ?
    Thank you,
    Keith

Shared access signature and stored access policy can be used in this case.
A shared access signature is a URI that grants restricted access rights to containers, blobs, queues, and tables for a specific time interval. By providing
a client with a shared access signature, you can enable them to access resources in your storage account without sharing your account key with them. A stored access policy provides an additional level of control over shared access signatures on the server
    side.
For more details, please refer the following links:
Create and Use a Shared Access Signature (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/jj721951.aspx)

  • Expose Metadata Repository for Public Access

    All,
Does anyone have experience exposing the active metadata repository for documentation purposes?  I am familiar with how the repository works within the BI workbench, searching, navigating, etc, but what I would like to do is to expose the repository structure to the user community so they can find more information about their objects.
An example would be to allow users to browse the metadata repository to discover what the definition of a certain key figure is, such as what is the definition of headcount, or purchase price variance?  Ideally they could find what other key figures are used in a calculation, or in a formula.
The metadata repository appears to be a series of generated htm pages, but this information has to be stored somewhere in the database.  Does anyone know where? If we can access the tables, then we can build reporting objects off of them and thus expose in BEx.  Alternatively, if we can expose the metadata repository itself, could we then publish it in Enterprise Portal??
Any suggestions, advice, or help would be appreciated.
I will award points for useful suggestions.
    Thanks in advance
    Christopher

    Hi Michael,
maybe you have to check if you are running IE 7.0. That can be the problem (it was with me).
So try to uninstall IE 7.0 and try it again.

  • Using portal metadata repository for portal content - performance impact?

Oracle provides the Oracle Drive utility as a way of moving portal content directly into the portal metadata repository. The Oracle Portal Center site (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/index.html) provides links to several demos and technical papers that describe the use of Oracle Drive to copy file-based content into the Portal Metadata Repository (e.g., http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/pdf/cm_webdav_10g_webdav_clients.pdf). My questions are: (a) is this a best practice (b) are there potential performance problems with loading up the portal metadata repository with large volumes of file-based content?

    Hello
It depends on what you mean by "large volumes".
I use webdav scripts to create/update my files every night and it works fine. But it's rather slow.
    Questions are :
    - is it a one-time transfer to initiate Portal, and a regular one ?
    - how large are your files ?

    Hi all,
We just completed our BW technical upgrade to BW7.3 SP03.
After the upgrade while accessing the Metadata repository via RSA1. It is asking me to re-enter the log in credentials of the BW system. This was not the case earlier. Can you please help me in resolving this issue.

    Hello Vasavi
    Please check the followings..
    From T-Code RSTPRFC  -
    > Select your BW Client
Check what is the background user name .... Like ALEREMOTE.
Then check what is the type of this User id  ( Like Dialog /System/Communication/Service).
If it is not System ( type B) then ask your Security/Basis team to change it to System or Service ( Type S) and then try to browse to MetaData Repositiry.
    Please share the test result

    Good question, rozester.
I encountered this problem also, while trying to install the SSO MRCA 10.1.4.3.1 on 64-bit RHEL5 (though it's at version 5.7 but I'm positive that won't make any difference to the result).
This may or may not match your situation, but when I looked in the log file $ORACLE_HOME/assistants/repca/log/repca_<datestamp>.log, I saw what was probably the reason behind the error:
<$ORACLE_HOME>/bin/sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: libclntsh.so.9.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I think I remember seeing that the link operation during installation had failed, but I hoped it would be OK. And it possibly would have been, if I'd remembered to specify the destination database Oracle home rather than the SSO MRCA Oracle home when prompted (on the page where it asks for database home and log file path). Perhaps then it would have used the sqlplus binary from the database oracle home, and since that one definitely works, it might have worked. But before I thought of that, I did a workaround; I installed the SSO MRCA on a 32-bit RHEL5 box (using the same directory paths) and copied the shared library files to the 64-bit box's shared library directory via scp as follows:
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/lib; scp -pr * oracle@rhel64box:$PWD/
When I re-ran $ORACLE_HOME/runRepca, it then worked without error. Another thing I could have tried is just running runRepca on the 32-bit RHEL5 box, and that probably would have worked too, but it probably would have been a lot slower compared to running it locally on the destination server; it's takes quite a while as it is.
Hope this helps. I'm sure it'll help me if next time I do this I forget what I did before and go searching again ;-)
