Dbconsole wont start after password changes

I have an oracle database on a test windows image that i haven't used for a while. the passwords for lots of accounts had expired, including MGMT_VIEW. I have reset the password on the account to MGMT_VIEW without realising that wasn't the original password for this account and also that you should not touch the password for this account (although what you are supposed to do with it, when Oracle is complaining that the password has expired, is another question). Now however, the dbconsole won't start up at all.
the release of Oracle is 11.1.0.7
1) Is there anything that can now be done to "fix" the dbconsole ?
2) where are the logs for the dbconsole that would explain why it is failing to start ?
I realise now (now everything has failed!) that MGMT_VIEW is a super important account and you should never touch its password (because it will break lots of things!) but it is done now and i need help to get my database working again.
sorry for the stupid question but hope someone has some hints.
thanks

i solved the issue after another days work.
i couldn't reconfigure the dbconsole because of the max reuse limit (i was trying to reuse the same password) set in the MONITORING_PROFILE profile. it was causing all sorts of problems when the emca tried to recreate the DBSNMP user object.
after working through lots of KMs to manually drop the dbconsole / EM repository objects and figuring out this limit above, then i managed to reconfigure dbconsole and get it to run again.
thanks for your help.

  • [Athlon64] sytem wont start after i change settings in bios

hi i have had this wierd problem with my system for a while know and the problem is this:
when i change agp apaterur size or change the ddr voltage in bios the system wont start so i have to nullifie the bios to make the system go up again.
the system works just fine otherwise.
it is really anoying and wierd so i would really appreciate if i could get some help with this one.
    thx

Some cards won't work with some voltages or apatures no matter what you do. Basically just reset the Bios with the jumper and only do so when the machine is unplugged or you can damage it. Reset the Bios and set to a known working setup on the apature. Leave the voltage be unless you know what you are about as that can fry a vid card or damage other parts if it is set wrong.

  • HELP !! Computer wont start after i change from 133 to 166 on my FSB

    Hi...
I have a K7N2G. I changed the my fsb from 133 to 166. Afterward, I have not been able to start or boot my computer (my fans are on, but monitor is not geting any output).
Thank you and greatly appreciated to anyone that can help me.
    Yoge

Hahaha yoge i fell yr pain man cos i did the same thing 3 weeks ago!! I just got my computer back from the shop on Tuesday. What happened was i managed to kill some chip on the mother board and the chip had to be replaced.
    This is the story:
    Amd XP 2400+,
    MSI K7n2g-ilsr
    400watt coolermaster
USING THE ONBOARD VGA!!!! (im a dumb F**K, i noe this now)
dual channel 2*256mb sticks (transcend & Kingston value)
I had just installed the latest bios so the kinston is
      supported.
    High performance settings
    FSB/DRAM Ratio 1:1
The only values i had for the FSB were 100, 133 & 166Mhz so i put to 166, i pressed F10 to save and then black screen.
The power was on, the monitor was on, but the hard drive shut down shuted down. So i took a look at the back to check the 4 LED's, 1,3,4 were RED and 2 was GREEN which meant the memory module was damaged, or so it said in the manual.
Apparantly ur not supposed to overclock with the onboard VGA and it even says that in the manual (i must have skipped pass that, duh)
So yoge your gonna have to take ur computer back to the shop to get it fixed sorry to say.
I cost me $35 AUD + $55 for service charge but they oly charged me $35 for the sevice fee cos i am a regular customer.
Also when i got back my computer this week, i opened up the case and do u guys know what i found, a GeForce4 440MX graphic card!!! They gave me a free graphic card!! Woohoo
Well now my computer runs fine with no problems yet and my cpu runs at 25 degrees where as before it ran at 51 degrees.

Restart normally. Open Terminal in the Utilities folder. Paste the commands in the Terminal application to avoid typos:
    sudo su
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted.  It will not be echoed to the screen. Press RETURN again. Now paste each of the following at the prompt and press RETURN after each.

  • Safari wont start after i installed avi player any suggestions?

safari wont start after i installed a avi player any suggestions?

You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan. Remove it as follows.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
    Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
    Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
    /Library/Application Support/VSearch
    /System/Library/Frameworks/VSearch.framework
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the Internet criminal behind VSearch has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • The login page of EM lost just after password changed

    hi,
recently, i changed the passwords of SYS, SYSTEM, SYSMAN. when i tried to manage the system through a browser again, i found there is no way to login EM then. I tried to change the passwords back to the previous passwords which created during installation, I wrote 'alter user SYSMAN identified by abc-123' within the sqlplus window and run the statement, but i got a message: 'ORA-00922: missing or invalid option'.
so, how can i change back the password for the system users?
or, what should i do after passwords changed, so that let the login page come back?
    thanks!
    ----guo.

This is because you haven't made changes in emoms.properteis file because password used by the oms are located in the
    $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/config/emoms.properties files
    Any way problem is curable
1 Go to DBHOME/bin ,Issue comamnd
alter user sysman identified by "abc-123",
    2 Go to OMSHOME/bin
    emctl stop oms
3 change the repository password by using comamnd setpasswd oms ,
4 Start the oms and try to login again
This is not supported way of changing the passsword , You should use the configuration ui to change the password for the Management Services and Repository target. That is the correct, supported way of setting the password for that target.

  • 770-G45 wont start after ShutDown

Recently installed MSI 770-G45, problem starts when i regulary shutdown comp. from WinXP or Win7 64-bit.Computer wont start after that, like ther is no power, fans dont spin, no bips, NOTHING. I got to unplug power cord and plugg it again into psu, after that it starts normaly.
Strange thing is that computer starts normally when i manualy shutdown system(holding the power button on the case). There is no exception, starts perfectly evry time after manual shutdown, no need to unplugg powercord.
    Rest of my components> Phenom II X2 555BE, Kingston 2GB 1333mhz, Sapphire 5770, HDD WD 250gb,PSU Corsair TX 650w.
Tried to change power cord, tried other PSU, other case (tought its maybe power button but no), changed mobo battery, installed several OS versions (XP, Win7) and still dont have solution.
    MS 7599 ver. 2.0
    Bios version 10.2
MoBo is new bought it 3 days ago.
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!

First: It is important to clear CMOS after a BIOS update. Unplug power cable before the clearing, as there can be no power in the system
Second: Rebuild the system, but outside the case. Use only PSU, motherboard, processor, one stick of memory and graphics card. If it works better then, you may have a short, from a stand-off too many, or poorly isolated wire somewhere.
But I second it sounds like a motherboard problem. You'd better contact the one who sold it to you.
Oh, an oldie thing! You will need to install Windows again, with the new motherboard and all.

Hmmmm.... BIOS upgrade interruption has screwed up BIOS and thats the reason why your notebook doesn't start properly. BIOS is damaged now.
In such case you need professional help by authorized Toshiba service provider.
On this forum you can find many threads about similar problems. Some people have tried to fix this alone and if you are interested to read how one other forum user has fixed it check please this thread.
Ayway, you can contact nearest Toshiba service, explain the situation and ask for help.

After wrongly change BIOS between UEFI to CMS, saving changes and leave, after reeboot the screen runs mad and dont let me access either BIOS or Windows.
    Sugestions?
    Thanks by the way

I’m afraid there must be some BIOS or EPROM / motherboard issue.
It looks like the POST (power on self test) cannot be passed properly.
Not quite sure if the issue can be solved easily and from my point of few you would need to contact the authorized service provider for help…
Therefore I recommend you to contact the ASP guys and to ask for assistance…

  • Skype account crash after password changing

    Hello,
in the morning I checked which of my devices are connected to the same Skype ID and I saw about 3 devices with showplaces. I typed /remotelogout and changed my password. The problem is that after the password changing proccess my Skype Account was blocked even with the new password after a PC Restart. This is another account of mine.
Now, I can't access my account(the system says that the password or username may be inccorect, which is not true), nor change that password to gain my access back because I have forgotten my e-mail(and log in dates) of that Skype account. What should I do?
If necessary to check the stuck Skype ID, I will give to an Administrator via PM, the new password, the old one and the ID.
    Thanks in advance!

You will need the original email account to restore your password. If not the only way you can restore it is by contacting customer support:
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1170/how-can-i-contact-skype-customer-service?q=support
You can allways try to reset your Skype:
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
    Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

  • Outlook prompting for password after password change

I have a client who has Exchange 2013 and the PCs run Windows 8.1 with Office 2013.
The users just started having the following problem. Their domain passwords are expiring and when they update them with a new one, Outlook starts prompting them for a password when they open it and periodically while Outlook is running. They keep entering
the new password and checking the box to remember it, but the password prompt keeps coming back.
I've checked and the account in Outlook does not have the box checked to always prompt for logon credentials. I did notice that the proxy authentication is set for NTLM so I changed it to Basic, restarted Outlook and there was no password prompt and the
user has not seen one since.
Any idea why having the proxy authentication set to NTLM would cause this after the domain password changed? It has been set to NTLM rather than Basic for years now. Exchange 2013 has been in use there for about 6 months and Office 2013 longer than
that. Windows 8.1 has been on the computers for 3-5 months so I don't think that's it either. I've tried with our domain account we have setup there and with a test user account by changing the password on them but with the proxy authentication set to NTLM
I haven't had the password prompt appear other than once the next time Outlook is opened after the password change, and that is to be expected.
So it's not every user account but a good number of them this is happening with.
    Jonathan

    I have an update.
There must be a GPO or setting in Outlook changing the proxy authentication to NTLM because this morning it was changed back to NTLM from Basic. They all either shut down or restarted their computers since I worked on them Friday.
One user got the password prompt one time when starting Outlook. She entered the password and that was it. But she was unable to connect to a shared calendar. She put her computer to sleep, woke it up, logged in, and then was able to connect to the shared
    calendar. I don't understand that.
Another user could not get the password prompt to go away this morning no matter how often he input his password, and he also was unable to connect to the shared calendar. So I changed the proxy authentication back to Basic again, restarted Outlook (which
is required), got no password prompt, and he was able to connect to the calendar.
I realize the calendar issue is tied to the password issue. What I don't understand is why these people are getting the password prompt ever since they changed their domain password.
I have a test account and test PC set up in a VM and it does not have any of these problems. I've changed its password 3 times but I never get a prompt when opening Outlook and it is set to NTLM.
I hope someone out there has an idea why changing their password now is causing this authentication problem in Outlook.

After changing the MobileMe Password iPhoto does not recognize the properly configured MobileMe Account anymore.
All other Applications with MobileMe Upload/Sync/Publishing capability (iMovie, Aperture, MobileMe-Sync) still work flawless. After trying to publish a Photo to a MobileMe Gallery or clicking on an prior uploaded MobileMe , the MobileMe "Are you already a member" (Translated from German) screen pops up, asking me to login into MobileMe. A second windows states "An error occured with the publication of album "ALBUMNAME". Your MobileMe Account Information is not correct. Even in the iPhoto Preferences/Setting under the "Web" Tab the used and max iDisk Capacity is not shown.

I'm having this problem on my late 2007 MacBook Pro 2,4GHz
On my second Mac at home evrything works just fine, even in iPhoto.
I've tried several things to solve this problem:
    - Logging Off & On with fake MobileMe username/password in the MobileMe Setting in System Preferences
    - Updating the password in publish.me.com in the keychain
    - replacing the keychain on this Mac (MBP) with the keychain from my Mac at (both have latest Snow Leopard and iPhoto Version)
