Dbdatasource from a view

Hi all.
Im trying to link a matrix with an SQL view. But when I add the next node in the xml file I get an hresult exception:
<dbdatasources>
<action type="add">
<datasource tablename="vDesAnticipos"/>
</action>
</dbdatasources>
It is possible to create a dbdatasource from a view?

Unfortunately in SBO 2004 it's not possible to have a view as a dbdatasource

I have tried to represent data from a view instead a table with the Java-Beans API but I couldn't beacause it doesn't represent any geometry referenced by the view. I think it should be implemented because is very common to use views. Are there any way to represent them in MapViewer?

Like a table, you also need to register the view in spatial metadata (user_sdo_geom_metadata). Did you register the view and its spatial column there?

Uploading data from a view in legacy system to SAP

Hi,
I am developing a custom table in sap. The data in this table will be loaded from a view which exists in the clients legacy system (Oracle db).There will be no middleware for the data transfer.
How can this be done in SAP? Can anybody provide a detailed procedure to do this?

Is the Legacy system capable of calling 'BAPI' or 'RFC'.
If yes, than you can create a RFC function module and with in the function module, you can write code to populate values to ZTABLE.
When the Legacy system calls the RFC with values, your Ztable will be updated

Suppose you are planning to get the data from multiple tables then you got to specify seveal condtions and make use of joins which results in poor performance in fetching the data . In order to improve the performance we make use of views where the conditions of different tables are defined and the data is fetched accordingly.

Hi Krishna,
Crystal Reports/BusinessObjects Enterprise ( BOE ) Business Views can only be created using the BV build which comes with BOE and installed using the Work Station installer for BOE. for both XI and 2008.
You cannot mix these two versions on the same PC not can one talk to the other, the BV designer must match the same version as BOE. XI ( version 11.0 ) is no longer available but if you mean XI R2 ( version 11.5 ) then it still is.
It's not completely clear which Business View you are referring to? BOE has a Business View Designer so not sure if this is just a naming problem or not? If you are referring to the BOE Business View Designer then the above is true. If your reference is about some other BV designer or data source then you need to clarify.

Update data from a view

Hi,
trying to update data from a view with:
- Company (table)
- Products (table)
In a form, the user wants to update
e.g: both products.product_name and Company.company_name.
Is there a way to update a view records built on 2 tables ?

My question
On point 6:
Assumption:
- Company_id is PK of pcs.Company and FK in pcs.individuals
- It should be feed by sequence (v_pcs_comp_id_seq)
Now how can i insert the same value for company_id (current.v_pcs_comp_id_seq) in both pcs_companies and pcs_individuals ? I've tested it in the above INSTEAD OF Trigger.It failed.

Export to text from CR viewer

Hi all,
I need to export my report to the plain text. This option is available in designer (2008), but it is not in the viewer. Any idea how to export the report to txt from the viewer?

We are using the cr2008 .net viewer and we do not have any text export options.
Are there dll for text export that can be installed on a machine where the viewer is called from
The viewer is called from a vb .net gui

Dear forum experts,
I am developing an application where i have 4 view controllers and 2 window controllers under one component.Some times on click of a button i have to give a provision to switch to another view from one view, which i did by firing the plug to the corresponding view..
Now i have a requirement where, on click of a button i have to navigate to the window dynamically which would contain some static views,
Can some one please suggest me how to go about it.

Is it possible to print from design view in CS3

I've got a summary print out / display page for a CF application that I'd like to be able to print out in Design view.
DW CS3 only seems to print the code page and I don't want to print from a browser as that will only show the options currently selected - I'm after having all options displayed.
Is it possible? Any suggestions other than printScreen?

I want to set value from first view to second view's context node's attribute.
i get Sales Employee BP number in ContactDetails view, from here i want to set that value in to STRUCT.SALESEMPLOYEE
of second view in the same component.

You can access the fields from different views by either using custom controllers or by using component controllers, in your case you can access the Sales employee BP number from the Component controller.
first access the component controller as below in BP_CONT/SalesEmployee (in do_prepare_output method) or in (specific setter method)
