DBSNMP user consumes too much cpu resource
Hello,
for a couple of weeks, I realized that DBSNMP user is always in top user list and it seems at least 15 percent of cpu has being used! as i know this is not normal. is there any one who experienced something like that ? I search for it but couldnt find anything useful.
thanks
HI,
DBSNMP is the account used by Oracle’s intelligent agent to logon automatically to remote servers in order to provide information for presentation via Enterprise Manager. DNSMP has the SELECT ANY DICTIONARY system privilege which can read the passwords from SYS.USER$ and enables the account to do its work for the Intelligent Agent. The problem is that an Attacker could log on to Oracle as DBSNMP especially if the default password has not been changed. The attacker could then read the password hashes from SYS.USER$.
dbsnmp is used by OEM as Intelligent agent for nodes discovery
Can you please restart dbconsole service and check.
export ORACLE_SID=
./emctl status dbconsole
./emctl stop dbconsole
./emctl start dbconsole

Theater 550 Pro's PowerCinema 4 take too much CPU resource?
Hello all Theater 550 Pro users,
I am experiencing Power Cinema 4 is taking too much CPU utilization on my PC, versus any other TV viewer apps like WinAmp TV, FlyTV, etc. CLCapSvc.exe is the process that blatantly taking most juice out of the CPU, causing TV viewing experience on Power Cinema 4 bad. Anyone know how to fix this? Any known patch for Powercinema4?
Now I'm using WinAmp's TV plugin until I find a better TV Viewer prog. Any suggestion?
Do you guys use any other TV Viewer app?Thanks Stu. I'm still figuring how to get mediaportal working on my PC as over here only have analog TV, no EPG, no scheduler, no nothing... just plain old TV Viewer is all I want. However, PowerCinema4's CLCapSvc.exe issue shouldn't be ignored too...

JMF occupies too much CPU resource in two cases
Hi, I am using JMF to develop a RTP streaming application including both client(RTPReceiver) and server(RTPTransmitter). And I notice that my application will consum unusually high CPU resource in the following two situations. Any one have any idea of the cause please reply.
case 1:
The server seems to work fine on both performance package for linux and windows platforms. However, the client consums a lot of CPU resource on windows(more specifically, at least about two times as the resource consumed on linux) when playing received streams.
The cross-platform package has not been tested yet.case 2:
When I close a processor by calling its close() method before I start() it, its CPU occupation will immediately goes up to 100%. According to JMF API documentation, the close() method of Processor might cause errors, but it does not tell more than that. This happens on both linux and windows platform.
My guess of the cause is that I did not check if the state of the processor is closed by listening to the ControllerClosedEvent, and I open another processor too fast(almost immediately after calling close() to the previous processor). Anybody have idea other than this one please correct mine. -
[solved...kind of]"xpad" consumes too much CPU power constantly
I have just upgraded xpad from 2.12-1 to 2.13-1 and found this:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
5936 bsdson 20 0 53696 14m 9908 R 34.3 2.8 6:52.08 xpad
I don't know what's happened to xpad and I think it's not right!
Some other informations that may help to audit the situation are as follows:

ThinkVantage Registry Monitor Service consuming too much CPU!
My X200 Tablet is often in an unusable stable for 10~20 minutes after a reboot or a wakeup from a sleep/hibernation state. I noticed it's mainly because CPU is busy with the ThinkVantage Registry Monitor Service.
I noticed that although the CPU usage of "tvt_reg_monitor_svc.exe" is often <10%, another process "System" is often taking >80% CPU when "tvt_reg_monitor_svc.exe" is running. "System" CPU usage immediately comes down when "tvt_reg_monitor_svc.exe" is killed. Is it a kind of camouflage? Thanks!
I was not able to disabling the registry monitor service completely either. Although I can stop and disable it in the Services control panel, it will automatically come back to life after a reboot. I heard that it may be because some other lenovo services, such as the Fingerprint Server, Rescue & Recovery, may need the Registry monitor service.
Anyone know how can I continue to use RnR and the fingerprint service but keep the annoying Registry Monitor service disabled? I'd like to use the fingerprint reader for convenience, and use RnR for saving data too! (my laptop, half a year old, crashed once already, and RnR saved my data!) Or, how to make the Registry Monitor use less CPU?
BTW, my X200 tablet is running Windows XP SP3, and currently up-to-date using both lenovo's "ThinkVantage System Update" and microsoft's "Windows Update".
Thanks!Hi,
this situation was fixed by one patch, so please try to install following patch, if this fixes your situation too:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-69109
Let me know, if this helps.
Cheers -
Recently my iphone is consuming too much data, I have installed a data monitoring app and I found that - although I turned off all notifications and push email - push services is using around a 1mega/hour from cellular data (even if I am using wi-fi) !!!

Firefox 12 STILL consumes too much memory and periodically stalls
1. This has gone on actually since at least Firefox 8 for many of us. With Windows 7 32 or 64bit, AND we are told OTHER OS's as well, Firefox 12 IS consuming too much memory!
When FF 12 memory consumption "hits" 800MB on a 8 GB machine, and continues to slowly climb, FF 12 has code or other problems.
2. ALSO, Firefox 12 under many circumstances, is slowing to a crawl, especially in opening windows and tabs.
NOTHING we do, inspect with memory tools, etc. seems to point to any "culprits" or guide the way to researching and potentially solving these problems...and they ARE problems within Firefox 12, and likely earlier versions.
TIME TO CLEAR THE AIR?
These are problems being seen by others, with or without any (totally blanked out/disabled) Add-On's and even most Plug-In's being disabled or removed, both for testing the problems sen in FF 12.
There IS a problem, or more than one, here, and it's not isolated or "just refer to this checklist" solvable.
There's problems, perhaps memory leaks and other agenda IN THE CODE.
We users need to stop being poo-poo'ed and "pampered" by needless communications that do nothing to truly address the problems.I encountered this after the memory leak was mentioned as pat of a slowdown issue with an add-on that has been in use as long as I've been using Firefox (All-in one sidebar -AIOS). After a relatively short length of time under both Firefox 11 and 12 it starts to slow down. Sub menus take more than a second to show up when the parent menu is clicked, links take more than a second to activate, pages don't load as quickly. (I have a 30Mbps downstream internet connection that I test regularly, and consistently shows between 25 and 30MBps speeds from multiple sites throughout the US. It's NOT my download speed.)
In looking for explanations I saw at least one mention of a memory Leak.
So I decided to test this for myself. I first removed AIOS, then re-started Firefox and just left it running. I did nothing except minimize and restore it a few times. About an hour later the memory used by FF had gone from a reasonable 42K or so, to over 200K.
I tested again after uninstalling ALL my add-ons and plug ins. The same thing happened again.
This is NOT simply high memory use. Which I interpret as a particular tasks or process using more memory than it maybe should.
This is quite clearly a memory leak. Nothing was being executed, nothing was running with Firefox, and no pages were loaded during this time. But he use memory just steadily grew.
This is clearly a new issues since I did NOT have this problem when I was using Firefox 8. If I can find an install of that I'm going back to it.
If not I'll settle for the ESR mentioned here. If nothing else it seems to have a slower leak.
I never did like the new version number / rapid release schedule. Mostly because growing version numbers at that rate made no real sense to me as a developer myself. But also because speed of release for new features should not be the target but quality. I think we can see that this has clearly fallen by the wayside.
I only wish I thought there was a viable alternative. -
Apple mobile device service uses too much cpu time
Apple mobile device service uses too much cpu time, from 88% to 99% of the CPU time.
The best way to fix this is to completely remove all aspects of iTunes then reinstall. Step by step directions are on this article. Good luck

I updated IOS 6 in my device, it is performing worse. Consuming too much battery in a very short time. How can I "downgrade IOS version?
Downgrading isn't supported and wouldn't help. You need to fix your phone.
1. Delete and reinstall all email accounts.
2, Restore the phone in iTunes, first using a backup and if needed as a new phone.

USB consuming too much power -notice
I get all the time notice/warning that: "USB-device is consuming too much power. Hub/concentrator which the device is connected will be shut down." During this writing I got the notice three times.
I don't have anything connected to my Macbook Pro (bought year 2006), not even mouse, just power wire.
What to do? I don't see any difference after the notice (that something has been shut down). It is just popping up all the time and makes working with the computer really annoying. It might be related situations the when computer is moved, or something.
Can I swich some USB-port/device off? Thank you in advance already!I had the same problem which arose just after I lost an external hard disk (Lacie 1 Tb started to make loud clicking sounds). I'm not sure whether I lost the hard disk because the break down of the USB-ports or whether I lost the USB-ports because of the break down of the hard disk (?).
Either way I get the same warning and after resetting the SMC and the PRAM I reinstalled the OS. Nothing of it helped. Instead I went to the authorised Apple service partner. And now it gets scary for real.
Apparently the USB-ports are an integrated part of the logic board (not just a card) and I need to get a new logic board to fix the USB-ports. Price 10.000 DKK. A new MacBook Pro will set me back 13.800 DDK (divide those figures by 5,8 to get US $).
I'm in some kind of chock. The MacBook is not yet 18 months old and works fine - except for the USB ports that I do need for connecting my camera, external hard drives and my iPhone......

This kind of issues are, unfortunately, more common and the we'd like. Thankfully, 99% of the cases are very easy to solve. However, you do need to diagnose what your exact problem is. Do this:
#run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe-mode] to disable all extensions, themes and plugins. If this fixes your issues, be them with RAM or CPU usage, then you know it's a problem with plugins, themes or extensions. Proceed to number 2. If safe-mode doesn't fix the issues, then read bellow, after this list;
#update all extensions, themes and plugins in your Firefox. If this doesn't solve the issues, proceed to the following number;
#disable all extensions, themes and plugins in your Firefox (not running safe-mode). Being certain that, as in safe-mode, the problems you're having have gone away, enable one plugin at a time. You should be certain that you WANT that plugin to be enabled, so keep your overall number of plugins as low as possible. When you encounter the problems, you know you've found a problematic plugin, so disable it for good. Keep enabling all plugins (except problematic ones) until you've gone through them all.
#enable one extension at a time. Again, be certain that you WANT that extension to be enabled, so keep your overall number of extensions as low as possible. Also, try the theme you want to have installed so see if that is what's causing the problem. When you encounter the problems, you know you've found a problematic extension/theme, so disable it for good. Keep enabling all your extensions (except problematic ones) until you've gone through them all;
#you're done! You've fixed your problems with problematic add-ons. If you want to keep using those problematic add-ons, please contant their author for support.
Ok, if disabling all extensions and plugins through safe-mode didn't work to bring Firefox's CPU and RAM usage to good levels, then you have different issue. The most likely scenario is that you have a third party software running on your computer that is messing with Firefox. Do as follows:
#try reinstalling Firefox. No data will be lost. You can get the latest version for free at [http://www.getfirefox.com/ getfirefox.com]. If that doesn't fix the problem, proceed;
#do a virus/malware check on your computer. If this doesn't fix it, proceed;
#disable all software running in the background that you don't want to have running in the background (in windows, this is done by pressing WINDOWS+R in your keyboard, typing "msconfig" (without the commas) and pressing enter. Now, under the "Startup" tab, you can uncheck the software you don't want, and reboot your system for changes to take effect. If you're unsure of what software you want running, ask someone with more experience). If this doesn't fix your issues with Firefox, proceed;
#check your firewall/antivirus/security suite for enabled functions/features that you don't want and/or may be conflicting with Firefox. You'll find that these features are most likely tied to Internet Security features, such as link scanners or URL checkers and the like. If you're not sure they are conflicting with Firefox, simply try to disable them to see whether or not that's true. As long as you don't browse the web with your antivirus completely off and your firewall completely turned off, there should be no problems. If this doesn't solve the issues, proceed to the following number;
#check your operating system security options, mainly advanced options that are not configured by default. While it's very unlikely that this may be the cause of the problem (after all, it's the last item on the list), it's remotely possible. If this doesn't work, proceed to the following point;
#update your modem/router software. There have been some reports that some modem/router software may cause Firefox and other browsers to loose performance and/or stability. If updating doesn't fix your issue, try other versions of the software, if possible. If you need support with this, contact your modem/router manufacturer. If this doesn't help, proceed;
#clean up your OS registry, using appropriate software. Make sure you've followed my instructions correctly, but if this all doesn't work, [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles create a new Firefox profile] (this can be temporary, of course) and see if the issues persist. Report here the results, so we can't help you further. -
Dear All
A technical colleague of mine is executing a procedure which selects data from two databases and inserts it into the third one. The procedure is not new and he has been executing the same since a year now.However in past two weeks the procedure is either consuming too much amount of time ( 3-4 hours as against 10-12 mins ) or it fails as it utilises more amount of temp space on the database on which insertions are made. In the temporary tablespace i added about 10gb more but it is still not suffice for the procedure to execute successfully.The sga for the database onto which insertion is done is 2560M and pga for the same is 2G.
Please suggest what is to be done as it is an extremely crucial procedure.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
rdxdbaIf you have Diagnostic Pack licence try to use AWR to compare instance activity for this procedure execution. If not try to install Statspack.
I recommend also to use SQL trace to have trace data for a "good" execution and for a "bad" execution and to compare TKPROF output for related trace files.
If you are using Oracle 10 or 11 try to use DMBS_MONITOR as described in http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/SQLTrace10046TrcsessAndTkprof10g.php. -
I cannot watch Flash vids because Firefox uses too much CPU.
Firefox has become untenable because it uses too much CPU and disrupts Flash videos.
I've tried disabling or changing the values of plugins. Installing older versions. Nothing helps. It just sucks. It makes me want to pull someone's lungs out.Everyone has this problem, since Firefox rigged one of its Plug-ins (something to do with crash reports) about 06 months ago, to max out CPU, thereby sabotaging computer performance (including Flash videos).
Why or how they haven't fixed it before now strains belief. I have seen the same complaint everywhere. It is a major fuck-up. People want to abandon Firefox in droves, except that none of the other browsers have decent add-ons like pop-up blocker.
Sort it out, Firefox.
