DCDataControl is null

Question

Hi all,
I am using programmatic View Object data population.
my taskflow has one method activity and one page activity.
i want to get VO from AM inside method activity then show on page.
but i found that DCDataControl is null.
BindingContext bctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
DCDataControl dc =
bctx.findDataControl("AppModuleDataControl");
i can only get VO only after Page activity is loaded on screen.

Hi,
I think the whole thread could have been shortened if in the beginning you dragged and dropped Execute from the DataControl panel as a method activity. The whole talk about "I want it to be generic and parametrized" only makes sense if you build task flows from a template which - as you said you have thousands of task flows - seems to be too late already.
I want to create one AM method which will return VO when taskflow give VO name as parameter ... get VO and populate it then show the page
Don't understand what it takes for you to populate a task flow. If you work with programmatic view objects then you override the framework classes to handle data retrieval, so I don't understand what you mean by populating the task flow. I think if I were you I would give up for a second on the universally reusable implementation and just get one POC working to learn about my options. When you started the thread you obviously did not know that method activities need to have their own PageDef for them to be able to access the data control (which already has changed by trying)
