DCH70 Turns on then off

So I just got the DCH70 installed in my apartment. Everything is plugged in correctly. Power supply, cable from the wall into the in spot, from the out to TV.
When I plug in the power cable the green light and Amber light turn on, then green turns off and a couple seconds later the amber one turns off. There is no picture on the TV and no sound. When I hit the cable on button nothing happens... I'm at a loss.

Apologies for the issue and the experience that you described above. This issue can and should be corrected.
In reviewing your account, there are some definite and observable signal level issues on your Motorola DCH 70 cable box that need some attention and investigation (Upstream Health - Forward is showing at 66 which is out of normal specifications).
This issue is likely the root cause of your video issues.
I have asked a colleague to review your account and reach out to you so that we can get this condition resolved. A technician visit may be required to resolve.
Thanks for your patience.

  • Turns on then off

My iPod was discharged. So I charged it using a usb port. So when i connected it, it had the non animated battery with the lightening bolt. So i waited like the guide said to. Then the iPod turned on like the guide said but then it turned off. And now it turns on then turns off by itself repeatedly. Until the battery dies once again. Then the cycle continues. Can somebody please help me??
      Windows XP

I am also having the same problem with a relatively new ipod nano
I have tried all the secret ipod diagnostics
I have even booted the ipod into Disk utility (on a Mac) and erased the ipod drive to then restore the software on the ipod.
Nothing works and if you do a search in these forums you will find a lot of chat about this same problem going back over a year.
I will be taking mine back to Apple hope they will replace it as they had done in a previous post
Also if you put it into one of the diagnostic modes pushing the Select button and back button the screen will stay lit and you can run all the tests. no problem
So I assume this is possibly a software issue
I really wish Apple would Answer this question
What makes this worse is this was a gift to my elderly parents and they have only used a couple times.
If you google you will find a lot more people with the same problem
Will report back if I can get any resolution to this issue.

OK so I was on my computer I turned it off when I went to turn it on it just goes on for like 2 seconds then off again I tested by using one ram and it still does it also I switched the psu out and it still does it is it a faulty board

This from the z77a-g45 as you didn't specify which z77g45 mobo you have.

Short the pins while the computer is off and the power cord has been removed.

You can clear the CMOS RAM by shorting this jumper while the system is off. Afterwards,
open the jumper . Do not clear the CMOS RAM while the system is on because it will

If this doesn't work you will need to switch the ram sticks/ try them in different dimms to see if there is a change.
Since you won't give up and additional information some other things to try:
Remove any vga you have installed and try onboard.
Remove the mobo from the case and build in on a uncoated piece of cardboard or other non-conductive surface to make sure there are no shorts.
Remove any usb devices you have plugged in .
Remove the SSD and see if you can at least get to bios.

  • New build, cpu turns on then off in 1sec

Recently bought a Msi z68a-gd80-b3 with a i2500k. i set everything in the case and seated the cpu, heatsink, videocard and a stick of ram in the first bank closest to the cpu. when i turn on the cpu it power cycles for a second then just shuts off. it used to power cycle for a 3 seconds then shutoff then back on for 3 seconds with the led13 light solidly lit, but after taking it out of the case in order to short it out its been just turning on for 1/sec then off. i have alternated all the components displayed on the bottom.
    Mobo: msi z68q-gd80-b3
    cpu: intel i2500k
    ram: gskill 7-8-7-24 8gb 1600mhz and patroit 2x4 gb 1600 cas 8
psu: antec quatro 850 and thermaltake tr2 750
    video card: 2x 8550 ati
im thinking its the intel i 2500kbut not sure how to test it other then finding another one which isnt really an option, but the motherboard bios light also comes on solid?   any help is greatly appreciated. sorry im at work so i dont have the exact specifics on the ram. if you need more info please ask and i will post, thanks

Wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be the problem area. Aaron's suggestion to try a single stick in dimm slot #2 is a good test.

  • Ipod continuously turns on then off and makes clicking sound

Just today, after plugging my ipod into my computer and transferring voice memos, I unplugged my ipod and as soon as I did that, it shut down and began its continuous loop of turning on and off. It never fully boots up. Can anyone help me out with what might be going wrong

give it a search, sometimes you have to look for a day or two, but you will find one. Also do a search on google. You can find them at parts houses like ifixipodsfast.com for 120 for a 30 and 165 for a 60 gig. But do some searches and go here for the tutorial on how to change it. It is really not that hard at all.http://www.ipodhowtovideo.com/video/
I have had my video apart twice and two of my friends for screen and battery replacement. I have had the hard drives out and can testify that it is really not that hard. Just be careful with the ribbon cables.

  • Water in macbook pro.  It turned on, then off... Chimes then shut off... Options?

    Hey.  So briefly.
On way home, layed bag flat with macbook inside.  Water bottle cap not tight all the way.  Felt cold on right leg, thought it was cold aluminum.  Felt it and was water.  Had very small puddle at bottom of bag.  Immediately took macbook out and wiped down.  No water inside keyboard area.  Did not lift screen enough to wake from sleep.  White light still intermittently flashing indicating that.  Went to apple store.  They opened lid and immediately held down power to shut off completely.  Went to back and took off back lid, came back and said that it produced a puddle???  Not impressed with that or way it was said.  They advised to leave it for 1-3 days.  Went home, took off back lid, inspected and absolutely no water at all!  Put back lid back on and turned on.  It booted to login screen, then past after entering info.  Loaded programs galore.  After 5-8 minutes, shut down by itself.  Tried turning on again, I hear boot chime then something clicking off inside, no screen.  Then white light flases as if it is put in hibernation mode.  I try one more time to hold down power and then boot up again, chime and same thing.  No screen at all, click inside (dvd drive?) and hibernate...
What do you think?  Battery indicator says full.  White light flashes.  No screen though and no boot up.  Everything backed up on time capsule.  Is there hope after 1-3 days?  If not, what do you think is fried?  What's the cost estimate?  Anyone ever have a favour by apple because of extreme loyalty to the brand (product buying).
Thanks for listening and assisting.  Will try anything.

You're probably past the stage when drying it off would help, but dry it needs to be before! you apply power to it again. If the battery is removable, remove it. Put it (as LInc said) in a bag of uncooked rice, for a minimum of 7 days, DO NOT turn it on again until this time has passed.
    Good luck

  • Is it normal for my computer to turn on then off then on again?

Sometimes when I turn my computer on it turns off then it turns on.  I have not had any other problems with this and there is no error in the debug.  My friends Maximus 775 board used to do this a lot to.  Is this an intel thing?

Interesting.  I know about the GD-70 that's for am3 but wasnt aware of another gd-80 for p55.  I know there is the trinergy but hasn't been released yet. Is there a gd80 for 1366?  Anyway I have the latest bios revision but I'll try putting down to stock today and clear and test it some more.
edit:  looks like its a p55 issue
    http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=5887
    evga users have noted this.
Pretty much covers all bases if you skim all of it. Makes sense from a support perspective. But can get annoying. I think EVGA is thinking it over carefully since there could be unforseen implications in allowing the average user to have control over this.

See my thread here about gd65: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=133310.0
upon calling c/s & futher research, this phenomenon seems to be labeled "fake boot" or "double boot".
(msi blames this on the p55 chipset & non-stock memory timings) apparently this is normal behavior (somewhat), though in reading more forums, there is some speculation that under certain circumstances this should NOT happen. resetting bios, and tinkering here & there should "fix" the condition. I don't like tinkering around so much with resetting my system 100x, as I have an old 450watt psu, so I'd like to keep it around for a few years, as opposed to tracking down a possible solution only to have to invest in a new psu prematurely or worse dealing with an rma. maybe one day I'll write up a list of things I've tried & one time or another & see If it will go away.
Your situation may be exacerbated by the fact your system is underpowered. See my post in your thread..

  • Display turn on, then off during Login Screen

    Hello all !
I've searched everywhere a solution for my problem, which is this :
I turn on my MacBook, after some seconds the backlight turn on but the screen remain black. After 1 minute, the standard blue screen appear, and also the mouse, and the charging screen.
But after 3 seconds before the login screen appear... the display turn off !
If i attach an external display, everything work, even the internal display turn on again. If i disconnect the external display, the internal stay on, but after a reset, it does it again like the first part of my message.
I don't think is an hardware failure, because if i start my MacBook in Safe Mode (Shift during startup), the internal display work perfectly !
What can be the cause ? Display settings ? Display driver ? Does a full system restore/reinstall will fix this issue ?
    Thank you for help
    David

You could try a hard reset but I doubt it will work:
    1. Switch off the phone.
    2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (call answer button, * button, and '3' button.
    3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.
    4. When the message 'Formatting' appears on the screen, release all of the buttons.
If this doesn't work then your only option is to visit a care point:

  • Officejet 4630 Turns on then off again

When i turn on my printer, it seems to go through its usual startup routine. But when it gets to initializing the scanner, the carriage moves slightly and the rapidly "slams" back to it's starting position. My printer immediately powers off and the power button stops working. If I unplug the printer and then plug it back in, I can get the power button to work again, but it just repeats the process.

Hi , I see that you are experiencing issues with the printer's carriage slamming back into the starting position and then the printer turns off. I would like to help you. It sounds like a hardware issue, since the printer is slamming the carriage into the home position. I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation. Please try the steps in this document to see if it will help resolve this issue. A 'Carriage Jam' Message Displays for HP Officejet 4630 and HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4640 e-All-in-One Printer Series. If the issue continues, please Contact HP Support for further assistance. - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

  • Computer power issues ! turns on then off turns on then off ! Help Please !

When I attempt to turn on my computer the power light comes on and I hear the fans running but after a second or 2 the light goes off and the fans stop running, after a count of 2 the light comes on the fans start up again and the same thing happens again, on off on off I don’t have to touch the button the only way I get it to stop is pull the plug from the wall. I thought maybe it was a power supply issue so I replaced this with a new one but I got the same results. Does anyone have an ideas????

    Dear Customer,
Welcome to the HP Consumer Support forum.
In order to isolate the issue, please try and perform few basic steps as follows:
    1. Open the hood and ensure the 4 or 6-wire power supply cable is seated into the connector on the system board
    2. Check if a device is causing the problem by removing ALL attached devices (such as hard, diskette, or optical drives, and expansion cards).
    3. Power on the system.
    4. If the system enters the POST, then power off and replace one device at a time and repeat this procedure until failure occurs.
    5. Replace the device that is causing the failure.
    6. Continue adding devices one at a time to ensure all devices are functioning properly.
    7. Locate the header and jumper labeled CLR_CMOS
    8. Remove the jumper from pins 2 and 3.
    9. Place the jumper on pins 1 or 2.
    10. Put the jumper back on pins 2 or 3
    11. Replace the access panel
    12. Reconnect all the disconnected devices one by one and then power on the unit and check if the issue persists.
In case issue persists please get back to us and we would be glad to assist you.

  • MSI Z87 MPOWER turns on then off immediately

So I just bought MSI Z87 MPOWER motherboard and Intel 4770k to replace my current MSI P55-GD80 and Intel i7 860. I'm having a problem that when i tried to power it on, it shuts off immediately. Double checked everything and all is good but got the same error. I tried to re-assemble/re-seat everything (removed, CPU, GPU, RAM, etc) but to no avail.
Then tried to use my previous motherboard and CPU and it works fine (note that i use different HDD/OS for these 2 motherboards). I even tried to connect only my Z87 MPOWER, CPU, RAM and 24 and 8 pin but still doesn't work. I also tried only the MPOWER and the 24/8 pins but still it turns on for a moment then shuts it off.
Any idea what more should i do other than RMA the board? Also tried the 2nd BIOS option but no luck.
    Thanks for those who'll reply.

@xmad Thanks for the reply. Yeah I tried the bare bones set-up and still the same issue: motherboard powers up in a split second then powers off. I'm running out of options as I'm pretty sure that there is something wrong with the motherboard. I just hope MSI will replace this with no cost as i just bought this couple of days ago.
Checked the CPU pins and its all good. Tried my PSU and RAM with my other setup and it works.
Note that i used only one 8pin and one 24pin connector to the MPOWER as i'm pretty sure you don't need to connect two 8pin just to power it on.
