DCIM folder is empty when it isn't. Help?

When I connect my iPod touch to my computer to sync pictures, in the past I've been able to upload pictures just fine. Now, when I open the DCIM folder, it says it's empty when it really isn't. How do I fix this?

- Just what did you do before?
- The DCIM folder only includes those photos taken by or save to the iPod. That is those shown in the iPod's Camera Roll album.
- Photos synced to the iPod do not appear in the DCIM folder.
- The only way to access synced photos is to use a third-party program like TouchCopy or PhoneView

Some folder is empty when enabled access-based enumeration + Deduplication

Background:
Recently we migrated the file server to win2012 r2. We have enabled dedupication and enabled access-based enumeration.
The data stored in D drive vm, so we just connected the D drive to the new 2012 r2 server. Security rights all the same as before.
Problem:
People reported that they can see their files and folders directly under their client folders, however some of the sub-folders are empty. when we checked from our file server, those sub-folder have files
inside.
We did some test, we tried to disabled access-based enumeration, checked from user shared drive and see the files are visible again inside the folder.
Has anyone experienced that before and can give me the solution?

Hi,
From the symptom it should related to Access Based Enumeration which means it is affected by NTFS permission settings. Please help list the NTFS permission settings on folders and an affect file.
Meanwhile you can try to create another share folder with basic NTFS permissions such as:
Domain Admins: Full Control - This folder, subfolders and files.
Creator Owner: Full Control - subfolders and files only.
A testuser group: Modify (on a specific subfolder and its files).
Everyone - Read - This folder only.
Then add the additional permissions which is added on your real shares to the test share one by one to see which one causes the issue.

My applications folder is empty when I open it in finder.

Aside from those in my dock, other applications installed in my computer can only be seen and opened using launch pad. Prior to this happening, I have just recently updated my OSX Mavericks and accidentally removed my applications folder in dock. Although I can still start apllications using launch pad, I'd like to know if and how can I make applications reappear in my applications folder. Can anyone help me, please?

In Finder (menu bar), try going to Go -> Applications.
Mavericks seems to have installed a secondary empty Application folder in my User directory. Maybe it's done the same thing with yours.

I cant back up my iphone from itunes because my phone screen is not reachable and neither without itunes because dcim file seems empty when i connect the phone to the computer with usb

Hi, I had the same problem. I finally figured it out. Plug in the USB cord to your ipad, but beofre plugging it into your computer make sure your ipad is not in the locked or sleep mode. Once I did this, my photos showed up and started downloading. Hope that helps you!

My iphone 4G has 1165 photos and NONE of them can be seen in the DCIM. None of my videos either. The folder is empty. Where the heck are all my pictures?

With my old 3GS I could connect the phone and navigate to a folder that contained all my pictures and copy them off or view them. Now with my iphone 4G, I connect the phone, navigate to the DCIM folder and it's empty! WTH? Where are all my pictures? I hate having to use itunes because it's performamce is beyond terrible. The DCIM folder is for your Camera Roll. The pics synced from iTunes will not show up there, only pics taken with the iPhone.

The title of my initial post is a bit misleading. I already took a chance deleting one of the iPhones, hoping if I deleted the wrong one, I can still reauthorize it (all with the same Apple ID acct, so not subject to 90-day waiting period, right?) The iTunes database just updated itself, and it says I have 4 "devices" "in the Cloud", but 5 "computers" associated w my account. How can I find out what computers are associated? Isn't there a list I can see? I dont have a clue what computers they might be. If I use the "Deauthorize All" option, is it a pain to add them all back in. I assume I would have to log in from each computer to reauthorize each one. Would I have to be running the newest OS or version of iTunes to reauthorize? I think I have a PowerBook G4 Titanium with an older OS and iTunes. I'd like to keep that authorized, if possible.

Is there anyway of transfering photos from my iPhone to my PC, Siri works its only the actual screen that doesn't work but as there is a password on my account I cant unlock it so the DCIM folder shows up as empty.

No. Not without getting the display replaced first. Many Apple Stores in the US and UK can replace the display on the iPhone 5 or 5c (but not the 5s currently) for $149. Make an appointment at the genius bar.

Are there pictures in your camera roll? Windows does not handle viewing the iPhone in Explorer very well. It will give you an idea of how much space is being utilized in the phone, but it is not really that accurate. You do not have access to anything else via Explorer except photos that are in the Camera Roll. No other files can be accessed and you cannot add files to the phone via Explorer.

Emails saved in my Saved folder are deleted when I click Empty Trash! Is there a fix for this?

What more details are needed to answer this question? I put some emails in my Saved folder. However, when I want to delete just the emails I have read, the Saved emails are deleted along with the ones I want deleted. If they're saved, why would they be deleted? I want them saved!

In Answers am seeing "Folder is Empty" for Logical Fact and Dimension Table

Am working on OBIEE Answers, on of sudden when i clicked on Logical Fact table it showed me as "folder is empty". I restarted all the services and then tried still showing same for Logical Fact and Dimension tables but am able to see all my reports in Shared Folders. I restarted the machine too but no change. Please help me out to resolve this issue.

SharePoint Online - Open large Doc Library With Explorer - "This folder is empty"

I'm using a Document Library in SharePoint Online to store over 50,000 files at around 40gb. I am a Site Collection Administrator, and I am in the Site Owners group. I can open the library in a browser and it displays the files correctly:
However, when I try to open this same library using Windows Explorer, it shows "This folder is empty."
I can add documents to this Document Library through Windows Explorer. However, once I close and reopen Windows Explorer, those documents no longer show in Windows Explorer. Any idea what would cause this and how do I resolve the issue?

Likely because you're exceeding the 5,000 LVT which also impacts Explorer view.
