DDTS 100 and stereo surround.

Hi.
I recently bought the DDTS 100 Decoder and I was wondering if I can have a stereo surround output (the two stereo channels from both front and rear speakers) from a stereo source via its analog inputs (such as an mp3 player) or another digital source via the coaxial input (ex. Boss GT6 Guitar multieffects processor).

No, Im afraid the ddts-100 lacks this feature.

    Hello,
I ordered the DDTS-100 and stands with the Ddts-100 now before a problem.
I wanted to connect the dvd-player and tv with the DDTS-100 and enjoy then surround sound, but I heared that this the DDTS-100 not really can do, tune that?
If I cannot let stereo sound on 5.1 sound, for what is the decoder then good?
    Thanks for your answers.

i have the exact same problem
i bought it so that i could use the dolby prologic II from my playstation, everything works except for the sub-signal
if i use the test function on the remote control, the sub does work though
i tried optical in (all 3 of'm), analog in (all 3), different cables, different games, different speakers
i tried it with the optical out from nvidia soundstorm, but no sub-signal either
and when i use the nvidia test function, the sub makes a noise again
i bought this because most reviews where rather positive about this product, and now it's kinda useless, racing / gaming / watching a movie without bass is ridiculous
    please give us some help

  • PS2, Xbox & GameCube + DDTS - 100 and ..

I have my consoles connected with DDTS - 100 and looking for new and cheap 5.1 surround sound speaker system. I doubt between Creative Inspire T5400 (100 ? in Croatia) and P5800 (70 ?) or something other in that price range. Please, give me some advices and recomendations... thx
    mazgoon

Just thought I'd jump in and say:
1). Turn on Xbox with no disc in the drive.
2). Go to the 'Settings' menu.
    3). Select the 'Audio' menu.
4). There should be an option for Mono, Stereo and Dolby Digital <---Select Dolby Digital.
5). Pop a game in (Halo works best for this ) and enjoy!
Note that some people I know (including myself) have found that the rear speaker come out a bit quiet compared to the front speakers when playing Xbox, so you may need to adjust your speaker set accordingly.
    Hope this helps, Kaya.

  • Connecting DDTS-100 and Audigy 2 ZS

    Hello!
I have some problems with DDTS-100. My systen curently is: Creative S750, DDTS-100 and Audigy 2 ZS. I can't understand how this DDTS-100 is working. I try to coneect Audigy2 ZS to DDTS using coaxial connection, but when I done this DDTS sound only in Stereo mode. Is it OK. I can't tur on Dolby and DTS on it. Then I try to connect some radio uzing Anolaog input. When I uze Analog input I can Chose betven Stereo Dolby and DTS, But still I cant Switch on Dolby digital or differnet sound modes. And if I tur On Dolby or NEO6 then I don't hera sound from side speakers . I'm wery upsad. I can't Understand how this DDTS-100 is working...
    Pls give me some advice...
    Regards,
    RaimizA

Analog output on the soundcard --> DDTS-100 switchbox
    Switchbox --> DDTS-100 main unit
    Switchbox --> Speakers
Digital out on the soundcard --> Coaxial input on the DDTS-100 main unit
The digital output on the soundblaster can ONLY SEND OUT EITHER A PCM STEREO SIGNAL OR AN ENCODED DATA STREAM (AC-3). In order to make the DDTS-100 decode the data stream correctly you MUST have the software set to SPDIF passthrough and also have that set in the Audio HQ or the Audio console. Put the switchbox to decoder mode. The only way to light up the lights of the DTS and Dolby Digital is to feed the main unit with an encoded data stream of those sound formats. If you try to play anything and put it through the digital out that is not DTS or DD you are going to get... Stereo.
In order to get sound from the side speakers you must first set the switch on the back of the DDTS-100 main unit to 6.1/7.1 and set the upmix to 5.1-->7.1 or 6.1-->7.1 (depending on the source) on the main volume controller of the S750.

  • Help connect X-fi Elite Pro with DDTS-100 and Gigaworks s750

    Hi,
I purchased a brand new Gigaworks s750 speakers system, DDTS-100 decoder and X-fi Elite Pro. I connected the DDTS-100 and Elite Pro using Optical Fibre output from the audio console of X-fi Elite Pro to the optical digital input of DDTS-100. With the cables supplied with s750, I connected it to the Decoder DDTS-100. The problem is I am not getting any sound from the rear speakers and the front speakers. Only the centre speakers and the side speakers are producing sound. I could hear loud hissing sound and very very low volume of the music from the front speakers and no sound from the rear speakers. I can hear good quality sound from the centre speakers and average quality sound from the side speakers. What could possibly have gone wrong with my setup ? Somebody please help me. Thanx in advance.

    Hi Richie,
Thanq for your response. But unlike what you have mentioned, ("what may be happining is the soundcard is decoding the signal and then the ddts is trying to decode it with disatrous results"), In my setup the signal is not getting decoded two times, once by Soundcard and once by the DDTS-100. As I have mentioned that I am taking out an Optical Signal from the sound card to the DDTS-100, the signal comming out from the sound card to the DDTS is Encoded signal only. So there doesnt arise a chance that the signal is getting decoded twice. Can you think of any other reason why my setup is not working? Please let me know.
    regards,

  • DDTS-100 and Divx/Xvid files

Does the DDTS-100 have problems with DivX/Xvid files that are encoded with AC3?
Power DVD will pick up a true DD signal for a DVD, but if i convert to avi (divx) with the ac3 sound, it only uses Pro Logic II/Neo6. There isn't even the option in Power DVD to use spdif when playing an ac3 divx file.
Who here has the DDTS-100 and can play AC3 divx files fine with TRUE DOLBY DIGITAL?
    Cheers.

Well this went down like a lead balloon.
If anyone else finds this, a solution is to convert the divx file to dvd vob files. The DDTS-100 will pick up the true digital signal if they are vob files, converted from divx with AC3 sound.
I use 'VSO divxtodvd', you can google a link.

  • DDTS-100 and Apple Powerbook

My question is, since Apple PowerBook has a normal stereo output (for headphones, stereo speakers, etc.), would I be able to connect it with DDTS-100?
I have Creative Inspire 5300 (5.1 speakers) and I'd like to up-mix all content that will be playbacked on my PowerBook (music, movies...), but I don't know if PB and DDTS-100 connection is possible (couldn't find any back image of the decoder). I saw a switch box, but I'm not sure if that is packed together with the decoder, which looked promising and I think that it would work as I want it to.
So, if anyone could tell me which cable do I need to connect those two (I don't know all those names, RCA, 3.5 mm, whatever it's all called) and if it will all work as I imagined, I'd be very satisfied, because I'm planning to buy DDTS-100 (since PB has only stereo ouput and I don't want to give up surround sound).
I hope someone can understand what I want, if not... well, guess I'll have to try harder.

    danijelr5,
Yes it should be able to work fine. You can find the user guide for the DDTS100 via here. The guide have those images you need. The cable you will need is the minijack to dual rca cable.

  • DDTS-100 and GigaWorks S-750

Hi there, i bought the DDTS-100 to install on my pc with 7.1 GW-S750. 7.1 system is connected on a audigy 2 platinum with frontal bay that has the optical and coaxial connections. The audigy is 6.1 but i use the 7.1 system as a 5.1 system. Ok then the definitions when seeing a DVD video with dolby digital and DTS are ( IN WINDVD7 ) audio:spdif out enable, the cable is the optic that goes from the front bay to the decoder, and puff there is the sound digital. Now if i change the switch in the box of the decoder to "PC audio" instead of "DECODER", and change the definition in windvd7 to analog audio card instead of spdif out and select a 5.1 system and select the DTS audio in DVD-VIDEO menu there is the puff again, here it is the dolby and DTS sound again ..voice coming on center speaker, some scenes back sounds are only there, everything is the same. So here is the question i guess i dont need the Decoder for PC use.. because the audigy decodes alone the digital sound (dts or dolbydigital) and sends the sound to speakers in the same way.. is the quality diferent by being decoded by the decoder instead of the audigy itself with windvd?

  • DDTS-100 and S750 Installation / Test Mode Question

I got a DDTS-100 decoder for Xmas and just bought the gigaworks S750's yesterday to replace my old DTT-3500. I plugged the decoder and sub for S750 into the wall and hooked the two up via the 7.1 cable. I then plugged the front and centre speakers into the sub. I'm not going to set up the side and rear speakers for a couple of days as I'm painting. Anyways, I then powered on the sub (green light comes on) and the decoder (it lights up fine). The decoder is set to 5.1. There are no other inputs hooked into the decoder. Then using the remote I hit test mode, the decoder goes in to test mode but I get nothing out of the speakers. I've cranked the volume way up and still get nothing. Do I have to plug all seven speakers in for test mode to work? Do I have to have an analog or optical input, or should test mode just work by itself. Do I have to plug in the little control centre which comes with the S750's, I didn't bother because I have the decoder.
Any ideas on why I'm not getting any sound? Any other suggestions of things to try?
    Thx.

Thx, that resolved the issue, I didn't think I'd need it because I had the decoder which basically does the same thing.
One question about the upmix. Because I am using the DDTS-100 with the gigaworks S750's, does it make more sense to enable the upmix through the control centre for the speakers or through the DDTS-750. Would it make more sense to use the S750 as there are a couple of different upmix modes there?
Also, with the volume control for the speakers, should I just set the volume on the Control Centre which came with the speakers to a level such as 75% and then use the DDTS-100 to control the volume levels after that, or should I crank the Control Centre up higher?
    Thx.

  • DDTS-100 and DTT2500 speakers

Hi,My amp/decoder of my DTT2500 is broken and I would like to know if it is possible to replace it with a DDTS-100?

    Hi!
What a shame, I had been searching for that exact information just to see that it is not possible. My DTT2500 analogue inputs are broken down but I do not want to replace (also) my speakers set, I will have to keep on with only the digital input and forget to listen DVD-Audio :-(
Thanks for the information anyway :-)

  • DDTS 100 And Creative 6060 TEST SIGNAL!! Please Help...

    Hi to everyone..
    Just a simple question..
I got a DDTS 100 Ampliefier And A Pair of Creative 6060 speakers..
When i try the "TEST" mode on the DDTS100 all the speakers play the sound correctly , except
the subwoofer (it don't play the typical deep bass sound that subwoofer plays)
and i've noticed that when the led on the DDTS il lit (on the sub led) , the center speaker and the subwoofer play the test sound at the same time.
The thing that i not understand is why the sub emits the same sound as (for example) the front left
    speaker (the "hiss" test sound)
    Any hint ?
PS : how can i check if the subwoofer works correctly? i've checked all the connection and they are right...
    Thanks to everyone!!

  • Ddts-100 and inspire p5800

are the creative inspire p5800 speaker system compatible with the ddts-100 decoder?
Is the decoder connectable to the K|i|s|s dp-1000 DVD Player?

    Gr33nC0d3r,
Yes, the speaker is compatible with the DDTS-100 decoder. Also, you should be able to connect to the decoder without problems since the decoder have coaxial/optical input which most DVD player should have. What type of output connector does your DVD player have?

  • DDTS-100 + i-Trigue 5600 + CH-DVD 462 center channel issue? Please help...

    Hi there,
I'm having some problems with this setup.
My DVD player is set to RAW output.
All cables are connected properly (checked, double checked)
When playing most 5.1 content (Dolby Digital track from DVDs) surround works perfectly except for the center channel. It's completely deaf. If I set the decoder to Stereo output, it works, so I know it's not the speakers. I tried some tests (7.1 THX Optimizer tests present on some SW DVDs) and the center channel works here (but the other ones are sort of messed up), so I assume it's not the decoder either.
I tried the center/sub switching cable that came with my last speaker set, and though it does switch the channels (I can hear mumbling dialogs in the sub channel) the center channel remains deaf.
So I know that the sound actually makes it out of the DVD (RAW is RAW) to DDTS-100 and from DDTS-100 to the speaker set (yep, the signal's here but I can't hear).
I should mention that I used competetive speakers before and had a similiar issue with the subwoofer channel - it made sound only for the LFE DVD channel as those speakers were not doing subwoofer channel computing (AFAIK Creatives do (bad bad bad bad)), but I assume DDTS and i-Trigue 5600 are supposed to be compatible...
    I'm completely puzzled. Any suggestions?

    shin8,
Are you getting proper output if you use the "TEST" button on the remote control?

  • DDTS-100 adding speakers to 5.1 set-up

I read a review of the DDTS-00 decoder recently, and it suggested; "Why not add your existing stereo speakers to your 5.1 rig for 6.1 or 7.1 surround sound?". I've been scratching my head wondering how to do this. I have a DDTS-100 and the Inspire T5900 5.1 speaker set, I also have my old Inspire 5300 speakers handy - so I would be interested in doing this. The thing is though, unless I'm missing something, the subwoofer on a creative inspire 5.1 rig has no input for the extra speaker needed for 6.1, let alone the grey/side speakers input for 7.1. I know the DDTS-100 decoder is enabled with the inputs for 6.1 and 7.1 (via the 'upmix' in the case of 7.1), and I understand how the switchbox works, but as I see it... I would need the actual subwoofer to have the extra inputs too - like the subwoofer of a creative 6.1 or 7.1 set has. Was the reviewer that suggested this just not thinking straight, or is there a way to actually do this? I would dearly love to, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, I read it here: http://www.ausmedia.com.au/Creative%20DDTS-00.htm
I was thinking, the only way I can think of doing this, and I'm not definately sure you could either, is to connect a 7.1 sound card to the switchbox of the DDTS-100 decoder with a 7.1 audio cable (lime green, black, orange and grey), with only the standard 5.1 connects (lime green, black and orange) going to the switchbox, and the grey/side speaker connect going into a pair of active speakers or a hi-fi. As I say, I'm not sure - but maybe this is something along the lines of what they meant? Other than that, maybe the reviewer was high at the time! :manvery-happy:

  • Dolby Digital with DDTS-100

    Hi,
I recently just got HDTV and connected it to my DDTS-100 (which is connected to the Gigaworks S750). However, all channels which have 5.1 surround sound (confirmed with cable company - doesn't mean they aren't lieing/don't know what they're talking about) make the the DDTS-100 illuminate the Dolby Digital light (as expected), but also the "Stereo" light (making me think I'm only getting a 2.1 signal). The end result is that I only get sound out of the sub, FL and FR. If I use any of the matrix modes I "lose" all the voices (i.e. apparently no centre channel decoded).
I've tried hooking up the Gigaworks S750 directly to my 7.1 soundcard and all speakers work fine. I've also tried every combination of upmixing available on both the DDTS-100 and the Gigaworks S750. I've also tried using Optical and Coaxial sources from the HDTV box. I also have a GameCube which appears to work perfectly fine on the Pro-Logic mode.
Is there something special I need to do with the DDTS-100? Any way of confirming that the signal is in fact 5.1

    plz reply
