DDTS-100 problem with DTS

I recently just got this decoder, and i connect it to my Akira DVD player via Coaxial cable. And i'm having problem in DTS mode, the lights just never lights up. but i had no problem in DD or DD ex. I did alot setting on my dvd players, such as the output mode. like SPDIF/RAW and SPDIF/PCM but it just doesn't works for DTS. is it something wrong with the hardware on the decoder? approximately how much will it cost to repair? cause this is brought from my friend and the warranty had just ended. or just the setting on my dvd? but most probably i don't think it is. cause i tried all sort of setting it just doesn't works at all. thanks for taking your time to read this thread.

smell something fishy here, first make sure the cheap dvd player (akira) support DTS out, second don't tell me you used pirated dvd movies, third not every movie support DTS.
If u had already made sure that your dvd player support dvd player and used original dvd movie with dts, then it's time to contact creative.

  • Creative Decoder DDTS-100 problem with my speakers

Hi, I just bought the DDTS, I have Klipsch THX 5.1 speakers and when I hook them up most of the sound is coming from the center channel. The other channels (front/rear) output sound but at a SUPER low level. Any ideas? Is it the Klipsch speakers?
    Thanks
    J

    DudeRighteous,
Have you tried adjusting the levels for the center down and the other speakers up? On the main volume knob press the select button and it will select a specific speaker set to adjust the volume for. Try changing these settings and see if that helps.

  • DDTS-100 Decoder with Inspire 5500D 5.1 Speakers (DIN Problem!)

    Dear all,
I bought a DDTS-100 Decoder today, thinking it will improve connectivity and sound quality of my Inspire 5500D 5.1 Speaker System, but I have run into a bit of a problem. My system has a sub which every speaker is connected to and I have to have the DIN cable connected for controlling the speakers and sub but the DDTS-100 doesn't have a din slot so my speakers will not power on when connected to the ddts-100. Is there a way around this or will I have to take back my decoder. I hope there is a solution as I would be very thankful.
    Yours Thankfully,
    Kyle Hunt.

  • DDTS-100 decoder with Inspire 5500 speakers?

I've been a very content owner of the Creative Inspire 5500 set (decoder and speakers) for two years now, but just recently my decoder has been playing up. I wish to purchase the DDTS-100 decoder and was wondering if I may use the speakers from my present Inspire 5500 set? The speakers are 5.1 - 8W RMS sub, with five 6W satellites. The speakers are similar (if a little less powerful, I think, than those with the Inspire 5700 set. Is this OK? I searched the archives for a mention of people using this set-up, but can't find any posts concerning this. Thanks for any forthcoming help!

  • DDTS-100 Problem/quest

Hi, I bought a DDTS-00 decoder, and am planning on using it with my home theater. (no computer, or computer speakers) I hooked it up to the 6-channel amplifier using mini jacks to rca plugs, and it works, but no subwoofer ! I tried the test tone, and all of the speakers work except the subwoofer. I checked the coneections, and they are fine. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks, Ron

(as I stated in the first post, I'm not using a computer or compuert speakes) I have an expensi've McIntosh system with Klipsch speakers and a Klipsch powered subwoofer.
Oh yes, sorry. The crossover is in the computer soundcard settings which of course, you won't have.
To test the sub you could try connecting another channel to the sub input, say the centre. If you hear the bass component of the centre channel at a decent volume level then you know the problem is not with your amp/speakers but with the ddts-00. If this is the case, then I think you should contact technical support. If you look here,http://forums.creative.com/creativel...message.id=722, someone is having a similar problem, but they clearly say that the subwoofer output on the ddts-00 works fine with movies, so maybe yours is faulty.
    EDIT:
I've found an examle of a crossover that is designed for 5./6. systems. I have posted a link to it in the above thread.Message Edited by pjc on 04-8-2005 0:32 PM

  • Problem with DTS

I have an audio menu with 3 buttons DTS, DD5.1, and Stereo.
When the users choice DTS and have no DTS decoder, we can heard a numeric noise very depleasant..
Is it possible to mute the track DTS in this case with DSP4 in the authoring ?
or it's the user who have to mute it in the set up of his DVD player ?
    Thanks to help me.

basically your would load sprm 15 into a gprm of your choice.
next, the script would check for that value. If the value does not equal the value for DTS, then it would force the audio stream to change back to one of the other streams.
This seems simple, but in searching for some articles on the topic, it is starting to sound more complicated:
    http://dvdstudiopro.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=29378-1
    http://digitalproducer.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=33709
The list of values for SPRM 15 is on page 500 of the online help manual. DTS capability will be indicated by a value of 2048 in bit 11. This may require a bitwise operation to get the disc to correctly figure out the player's capability.

If possible, use the same account as you used for encryption.

  • Help connect X-fi Elite Pro with DDTS-100 and Gigaworks s750

    Hi,
I purchased a brand new Gigaworks s750 speakers system, DDTS-100 decoder and X-fi Elite Pro. I connected the DDTS-100 and Elite Pro using Optical Fibre output from the audio console of X-fi Elite Pro to the optical digital input of DDTS-100. With the cables supplied with s750, I connected it to the Decoder DDTS-100. The problem is I am not getting any sound from the rear speakers and the front speakers. Only the centre speakers and the side speakers are producing sound. I could hear loud hissing sound and very very low volume of the music from the front speakers and no sound from the rear speakers. I can hear good quality sound from the centre speakers and average quality sound from the side speakers. What could possibly have gone wrong with my setup ? Somebody please help me. Thanx in advance.

    Hi Richie,
Thanq for your response. But unlike what you have mentioned, ("what may be happining is the soundcard is decoding the signal and then the ddts is trying to decode it with disatrous results"), In my setup the signal is not getting decoded two times, once by Soundcard and once by the DDTS-100. As I have mentioned that I am taking out an Optical Signal from the sound card to the DDTS-100, the signal comming out from the sound card to the DDTS is Encoded signal only. So there doesnt arise a chance that the signal is getting decoded twice. Can you think of any other reason why my setup is not working? Please let me know.
    regards,

  • Problem playing DTS audio CD's with a Audigy 2 ZS in Vista

I have set up a dual boot between Windows XP?and Windows Vista Ultimate x64. I have connected my Creative Audigy 2 ZS through the SPDIF digital output to my amplifier. In Windows XP I can play DTS audio CD's without any problem through the Creative Mediasource 5 Player. In Windows Vista Ultimate x64 I tried playing DTS audio CD's through Creative Mediasource 5 and all I get is silence. In Windows Vista Media Center I just get distorted noise when playing a DTS audio CD's. Playing DTS DVD's works perfectly. I am using the latest XiFi drivers, which are a great improvement over the current release of the?Audigy 2 ZS drivers. According to me the problem with DTS audio CD's has something to do with the sample rate setting of the SPDIF digital output. For DTS audio CD's the sample rate?is 4400 Hz while for DVD's the sample rate is 48000 Hz. If the sample rate for DTS audio CD's is upsampled from 4400 Hz to 48000 Hz my amplifier does nog recognize the DTS signal anymore and is not able to decode the signal properly which results in distorted noise. Has anyone got any ideas how to force the sample rate for the SPDIF digital out to 4400 Hz for DTS audio CD's? Now I have to boot to Windows XP to play DTS audio CD's, which is not very convenient as I now use Windows Vista for everything else.Message Edited by TheRedDevil on 08--200705:5 PM

  • Connecting to my T6060 5.1 speakers with a DVD player thru Decoder DDTS-100

Hi, I have a DVD player which has 2.1 audio output (left and right), a coaxial and an optical audio output. Can you tell me how to connect the creative T6060 (5.1) speakers with the DVD player. Can I connect the speaker with the DVD player with the decoder DDTS-100 to get 5.1 effect. Will the speakers would be working. Thanks,Jwell

Your speakers should have a cable with 3 plugs on the end (orange, green and black). That plugs into the matching sockets on the DDTS-100, and you set the switch to 5.1. Then you need a lead to connect the dvd and its up to you if its coaxial or optical. For coaxial you can use pretty much any phono to phono lead, which you may already have. Ive got a feeling the DDTS-100 comes with one of each anyway. Thats all there is to it.

  • DDTS-100 + Inspire 7.1 T7900 + STAR WARS EP3 DVD

    Hi
A month ago I purchased the DDTS-100 decoder with the T7900 speakers to use it on my TV when watching DVD's. I have been really satisfied with those 2 products considering the price.
But I have an issue that I don't understand. I bought Star Wars Episode 3 DVD. Last night when watching the movie I realised that no sound came from the rear speakers. On the decoder the green led was on "Digital Surround". The only sound option on the DVD disc is English Digital Surround EX.
I then ran the THX Optimizer on the dvd just to test and there sound came from the rear speakers but in the movie nothing, no sound from rear speakers. When I put another DVD in my player the rear speakers work.
What could be the issue here? I doubt it's a dvd error. Is it the decoder that don't support Digital Surround EX or something. Is it something new? I really don't get it.
Is anyone experiencing the same problem or understands what is going on?
    Thanks in advance.
    Christophe

    Hi Chris,
Firstly, If you are getting audio with the THX optimiser, and via other DVD's, it doesn't appear to be hardware related - logically, the hardware can only output what is actually put into it (i.e. the audio datastream via the software)...
...Meaning this issue probably originates from the software 'encoding' on the disc itself. As you say, it won't actually be a direct fault with just your DVD e.g. a scratch or something similar. However, it seems to be how the disc has been encoded, but I can't be certain :smileyindifferent:
Anyway, hope that's of some help & you get it sorted whatever it turns out to be.
    Regards,
    LAGAVULIN

  • Decoder DDTS-100 + digital out(audigy 2)via coaxial

hi, if i connect ddts-100 decoder with audigy 2 via digital out(coaxial), can i mix stereo sound to multichannel witch DTS 6 neo or Dolby Pro Logic II? and if i send via coaxial AC3(movie witch AC3 or music from winamp surround edition) sound ddts-100 recognize this signal and play at all channel?Message Edited by mariuszkom on 07-19-2007 10:41 PM

Yes and Yes. I've found that it sounds better though to simply copy the front channels to the rear, which neither of those matrix modes will do. Your best bet though is to get a sound card that does dolby digital li've encoding such as the auzentech xplosion or ht omega striker.
