De-activate ChaRM

I am trying to clean-up Solution Manager Projects. When I try to delete one of the projects, I get the message "Project ZKATCHARM is already used in Change Request Management." So I went into the Change Requests tab under System Landscape. The "Activate Change Request Management" check-box is checked and the selection is grayed-out so I am unable to uncheck the box to disable ChaRM. I have also tried to click on "Show Task List" to see what tasks the project is expecting to be executed but the Task List is not being generated. The consultant who created this project is no longer here so I am unable to ask him what was done during creation. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to de-activate ChaRM and delete this project? Thanks

Hi Andy,
You need to close out the maintenance cycle associated with the project first. Once you close out the maintenance cycle the 'change requests' tab will not have any value for 'tasklist' or the 'maintenance cycle'. At this point you can mark the project as 'finished' in the general data tab of the project. You cant delete the project but you can hide it and it will not be shown in solar_project_admin transaction anymore.
Closing the maintenance cycle will ensure that no new charm documents are associated to this maintenance cycle or project.

  • Activate CHaRM using Virtual Systems in Landscape

Is it possible to activate a CHaRM project against a landscape that
    contains virtual systems?
We currently have a Development system (DEV) with a virtual Test system
(QAS) and virtual Production system (PRD).  These systems are marked as
Virtual in TMS and SMSY System Landscape.  We have added these systems t
    o
the Logical Components and created a new Solution Manager project and
want to activate CHaRM against this scenario. .
The TMS routes are defined with Dev -> QAS(virtual) -> PRD(virtual).  Is
this scenario possible?  Do the standard CHaRM activation checks (RFC's,
Authorizations, etc) get bypassed because these systems are virtual?
When activating CHaRM, we still receive the error that no consolidation
system exists for our Dev system even though the TMS routes have been
defined properly.  However, since these systems are virtual, we cannot
    add client information to them.
    Thanks

A virtual system cannot export any TR. So any request imported to QAS cannot be exported

  • Error in CHARM configuration to move JAVA objects 'The project is not relea

    Hi,
I have BI 7.0 (ABAP + JAVA) landscape (i.e. CBD, CBQ and CBP) on SPS12 and SolMan 7.0 (SMD) on SPS14.  My goal is to move both ABAP and JAVA transports through CHARM. I performed following tasks:
    1.  Configured TMS by selecting CBD as Transport Domain controller to move Java transports
    2.  Configured CHARM for BI landscape to move ABAP transports in SMD and it is working fine
    3.  Configured CTS+ to move JAVA transports on SMD instead of CBD because CTS_BROWSER service is not available on CBD due to SPS12. While configuring CTS+ in SMD, I used SIDs for BI Java landscape as reverse SID (i.e. DBC, QBC and PBC) and used mapping parameter to map to original SID.  I used reverse SID because already in SMD (CBD, CBQ and CBP) has been defined for CHARM purpose. Now, I am able to move successfully JAVA transports of BI landscape from SMD.
    4.  I am having issue in configuring CHARM on SMD for JAVA transports.  I am following http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager --> Media Library --> TechnicalPapers --> How to Set Up and Use eCTS/ChaRM Solution Manager 4.0 SP12 document.  Following are the steps, I performed to move JAVA transport through CHARM:
         a.  Defined JAVA systems (i.e. DBC, QBC and PBC) in SMSY as Enterprise portal systems
         b.  Defined ABAP system (i.e. Where Transport request is created, in my case it is SMD) in SMSY
         c.  Defined logical component for both ABAP and JAVA systems
         d.  Defined solution manager project by adding two logical components created at step C (i.e. ABAP and JAVA)
         e.  I am getting error when I am trying to activate CHARM and create task list.  The error is as follows:
/TMWFLOW/TRACKN 101: 'Warning: Problems occurred during synchronization of the system landscape'.
If you choose 'Check', the system displays the following message in the results list of the check:
/TMWFLOW/TRACK_N 806: 'No consolidation system found for SMD-200 (project zjava3)'
If you try to create a task list by choosing the relevant pushbutton, the system issues message
/TMWFLOW/CONFIG_UI 017: 'The project is not released. Hence cycle can not be created'.
I found a relevant sap note for this 1054264 but it is not useful me, as it suggest to upgrade SolMan to SPS12 but whereas I am on SPS 14.
Any suggestion are welcome.  Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Shiv

    Hello
You should first fix the errors you get such as the missing consolidation system
Please see thread [Re: No consolidation system found for SID in solman; or check the forum on the error message "'No consolidation system found for" and you will find relevant information.
I would advise to update your SAP Solution Manager though to one of the latest available levels, there are a lot of fixes and enhancements to Charm (and also availability of quality gate management which gives some of the functionality of Charm but is more compact).
    Kind regards
    Tom

  • ChaRM: Some actions missing in the Correction Document?

    Dear all:
I have followed all the tutorials about creating a charm, everything is fine but when handling the correction document I can never see in the action list the items "Logon to system" and "Complete development" (I can see al the other items though). Anyone has an idea about this? Where those actions come from?
    Thank a lot in advance!!
    Federico.

    Hello Frederico,
These actions are PPF actions, they are assigned to an action profile and this action profile is assigned to the CRM transactions such as SDCR, SDHF, and so on. You can maintain that at SPPFCADM.
However, sometimes the basis PPF database tables are not completed updated during the activation of BC-set SOLMAN40_CHARM_BASICFUNC_001.
Our recommendation now is to reactivate the ChaRM BC-Sets, in order to recreate all entries missing. However, I have to remind you that if you have performed some customizing in ChaRM this will be overwritten.
So, if you agree with this statement, please reactivate the BC-Sets in this sequence:
    SOLMAN40_CHARM_PROXYFACT_001
    SOLMAN40_CHARM_BASICFUNC_001
    SOLMAN40_CHARM_TRANSTYPE_SDMJ
Please check note 907768 that has informations about how to activate ChaRM BC-Sets.

  • CHARM in Solman

    Hi
We are having the SOLMAN Version 4.0 SP13  system. As per my understanding the CHRAM can b eused for the following
1.Maintenance optimizer  ( for downloading& implimenting support packages)
2, Maintnenance cycle(for enhancment or bug fix cycle)
    3. TMS integration( Moving the transports to different systemsDEV-QAS-PRD)
4.Hot news ( to view and create OSS notes)
Asper the process we have to activate the ChaRM for the given Project (SOLAN_PROJECT_ADMIN) in the system landscape  tab.
    Query is
1.if i want to go for only  Maint optimizer, still i need to activate this?
    2. IfI want ot go for  TMS & Hot news fucnitonality -do i need to activate CHARM ?
    Thanks In Advance
Seeking your valuable inputs on this
    Reagrds
    Dinesh

    Hello
As per my understanding from configuration point of view there is no dependency in customization of maintenance optimizer and charm. There is no need to activate charm for activating maintenance optimizer.
We have activated maintenance optimizer far before and never configured Charm for that reason.
But when you configure charm, you have the option to import support patches or notes through task list of charm.
    Hope this will help;

  • Change Request TAB Missing in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN  - CHARM

    Hi All,
We are in process of configuring Chage Request Management(Charm).we created a maintenance project and added the ogical component.but unable to activate charm. because the  CHANGE REQUEST TAB is missing.
We have followed the steps in SPRO and also followed the NOTE : 903527 except importing the picelist attached but still unable to see the TAB. Our SOlution Manager is at EHP1 sps 2

  • (CHaRM) multiple landscapes in one maintenance project

    Dear solman experts,
I know that it is possible to have one global maintenance project supporting multiple landscapes with the scenario CHaRM, instead of one maintenance project for one landscape. My question is what are the specific configurations to keep in mind when performing the configuration? And what are the consequences e.g. Can I still use the Change Document types urgent and normal correction or is it limited to only the normal correction due to complexity?
I hope someone can help me this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ricky

    Hi
Yes it is possible................ with maintenance project you get normal, admin and urgent correction types
only with implementation projects you get normal & admin only and no urgent corrections
Secondly you have to create logical component for each system landscape and add all of them to your single project
    e.g
SAP ECC landscape LC1 Dev 100 QA 200 PRD 300
SAP BI landscape Lc2 dev 100 qa 200 prd 300
    etc
Note one logical component can store only one system landscape information not all systems
so add all of them in one project and activate charm.
now whenever the ticket is created ....developer can choose the system in which they want to create a TR ......and based upon LC it knows which is right Quality and prd.
Morver never forget .....Solman domain controller is master and it uses the same TMS setup which you for satellite system without charm.
    hope its clear now

  • Can CHARM be activated if QA and Prod systems not defined yet?

    Hi All.
We are starting to upgrade our system from CRM 4 to CRM 7.
Is it possible to setup/activate CHARM to manage transports for the CRM 7
system eventhough we only have a development system at the moment.
Our Basis Team will start defining the QA system next week and later the prod system.
I remember that when CHARM was activated on the CRM 4 system, the SolMan consultant mentioned that the environment (dev, QA and prod) should be all defined before activating CHARM. Is this true? Can we just define a dummy client?
    Thanks,
    Tess

    Hi Tess,
    yes, it is possible.
Via transaction SMSY you can describe the planned Q- and P-System at first as 'virtual'.
Create transport routes with transport buffers as you would do for existing systems.
For experimental purposes we connected our IDES-System to our development SolMan system.
In this environment we could map such a ChaRM-configuration.
In the meantime we practiced it in our production SolMan system, too.
    Best regards
    Horst

  • CHARM without any project assignment possible or not ????

    Hi ,
can we create transaction request through solution manager having charm configured without assignment of any maintenance  project.
i n details : i config. charm for managing all daily transaction request from it. for that i was created a Zabc maintenance project.
so now when ever any new developments come on service desk request it will call for change management request from their and
after approval developer will create a TR which by default comes under project Zabc for maintenance cycle M0000XX.
Now i want to get either multiple option to choose different projects or without project . can any one confirm is it possible to create any TR (Dev) without any project assignment or not. If yes please let me know.
    Regards
    Andrew.

Maintenance Project are used for Maintenance on your "live" business scenarios, checked out from your solution.
Implementation, Template are used for implementing new functionallity, into a new solution, or additional to a solution.
    Upgrade projects speak for themselves.
If you start with Maintenance/Implementation/Upgrade/Template projects, as soon as you activate ChaRM (option in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN) your are supposed to create a Maintenance Cycle. In relation to the type of project a certain tasklist is created, and thus a maintenance/development cycle is created.
To those cycles the individual, change documents are "attached" to get a release kind of working.
So you must have any cycle, Maintenance or Development or Upgrade.
    Kind regards.

  • Coexistance of CHARM & QA?

    Hi all,
I want to activate CHARM, but we have not the common 3-system-landscape
Dev > Q > Prod). We use the QA-procedure, and thus have a kind of 4-
    system-landscape:
    Dev > Q > QA > Prod
...where QA is only a virtual system with an own transport buffer, where
basis team authorizes the changes manually to production. As it is a
productively used system landscape, we can not simply disable QA and
    replace it by CHARM.
I need to activate both in parallel before QA can be disabled later.
    <a href="http://img86.imageshack.us/my.php?image=systemlandscapelt3.jpg">http://img86.imageshack.us/my.php?image=systemlandscapelt3.jpg</a>
The normal STMS transport routes are configured and work fine.
But when I try to enable CHARM for this transport domain, the log
complains that there is "No export system for P01-001"! It simply
doesn't recognize the virtual QA-system as a system, probably because in
SMSY no system number can be read (as it is virtual).
I already tried to give the QA-system the "Production" role (via system
role assignment), but as it has no system number this is refused.
Is it basically possible to combine these two "approval procedures" (QA
    & CHARM)?
And how can CHARM be enabled with the virtual QA system in the transport
    route?
    Many thanks for your help!
    Christoph Schuhwerk

The following answer came from the SAP OSS support:
<i>basically, also a 4-system-landscape is possible within the CHARM
scenario and also the use of virtual systems is supported.
There are some prerequisites, which must be fulfilled:
All virtual systems to be used, must be added also to the according
logical component in SMSY. For the data in SMSY getting updated also
for these systems, please use the button "read system data remote".
A system role has a role type, this role type must fit to the definition
    in TMS.
Furthermore single import strategy must be set up in TMS (also the
parameter CTC must have the value 1 assigned) and a client specific
standard transport layer must be defined.
Concerning virtual systems please check also attached notes no.
1004569 "Virtual systems in Change Request Management" and
    1007217 "SMSY(SLD): Do not read TMS systems"!</i>

  • Transaction to call ChaRM

    Hello,
Do we have any tcode to call the ChaRM? I am not mentioning about CRMD_ORDER and then select the tab for ChaRM nor any workcenter. I need to know whether there exists any tcode which will take me to the screen of creating ChaRM.
    Regards,
    Rajeev

You can't  "create" ChaRM, you need to implement it, you need to follow the Implementation Guide to implement ChaRM.
However, if you're referring to the creation of projects and activation of ChaRM; use transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN.
From there, you can create maintenance projects (for exisiting system landscapes). Under the tab "system landscape", you can activate ChaRM in the subtab "change requests". (If your system landscape is properly configured)
Let me know if this answers your question or if you require more info.

  • ChaRM: Internal Phase Controller Problem

    Hi Team,
I am working in Sol Man ChaRM. My scenario is as below:
We would like to create two maintenance projects one for nomal corrections (SDMJ) & another for SDHF corrections.
I have successfully created one mainteance project for SDHF corrections (Activated ChaRM check box) in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN.
I am trying to create one more maintenace project to handle normal corrections (SDMJ) in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN. Both two projects uses same logical components. When i try to activate the check box "Activate ChaRM" in the second project, i am getting below error.

    Diagnosis
The system was unable to generte the task list due to an internal error in the phase controller.

  • CHaRM : unable to create Task List

    Hi All,
we are trying to configure Charm in our Solman 7.0 sp16.
when i create a project and and click on "Create Task List" under SystemLandscapte>>ChangeRequests Tab
error "The Project is not released. Hence cycle cannot be released.

+ CTS Projects in production systems for project CHARM_TEST+
can anyone help me out here.
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Pradeep L

    Hi Pradeep,
This issue is because of Solution Manger TMS is not configured properly.
Use this blog for STMS configuration: /people/dolores.correa/blog/2008/07/26/first-steps-to-work-with-change-request-management-scenario
    OR
Better use SPRO to configure STMS, Just follow SPRO step by step process.
    SPRO->SAP Solution Manager->Configuration->Scenario-Specific Settings->Change Management
    ->Change Request Management->Standard Configuration->Transport Mnaagement System(TMS)
    1. Do you try to activate ChaRM for any satellite system landscape(DEV->QAS->PRD?
    OR
    2. Do you try to test ChaRM in Solution Manager itself(SM100(DEV)->SM200(QAS)->SM300(PRD)?
If your test belongs to point 2, then follow the blog that i mentioned above. It gives a step by step details.
    Note:
    1. For anycase, DEV to QAS should be consolidation route and QAS to PRD should be delivery route.
    2. SM TMS should have SAP transport layer as well as atleast one customized transport layer.
    3. ChaRM supports only client specific transport management system.
Let me know if you need more help on this.

  • Implementation project - needed to activate ChRM?

    Dear SolMan gurus.
Is needed to activate a sap solman change management during creating an Implementation project? Or in other words, how to create task list for implementation project without activating ChRM?
    Thank you for you answers.
    Best regards,
    Petr Syka

    Hi
If you want to use task list and other functionalities given under
    System Landscape tab->change request tab..................in solar_project_admin project
you need to activate charms which helps to automate the transport mechanism for managed systems like ecc etc
but in case you just want to implement or execute SAP ecc blueprinting and store doc etc you dont need to activate charms for that and you won't get any task list or phase wise maintenance cycle etc.
    hope that ans ur query

  • SCC1 Transport in CHARM

    Hi Experts
I am configuring CHARM at one of our client and the scenario is typical..
    Scenario:
Client has Dev -QA-PRD Sytem, where as in DEV has 100 & 200 Client.  Initially All the tranports will move from Dev-100 to Dev-200 and then to QA System.  Hence,
Q- How shall I define the Transport Route
Q -How can in define Logical component
Q- How can I include in CHARM
    Regards
    Aftab

    Hi Aftab,
    this can be implemented.
    1. Define a tranport route from DEV100--->DEV200. U can specify the client in 'Standard Transport Layer' tab. Then to QAS and PRD accordingly.
    2. Create a logical componenet and mention DEV100 as DEV system and DEV200 asTEst system , QAS as ur Pre prodcution and ur PRD. Or you can define the roles as per ur wish.
    3. Assign this logical componenet to ur solution and add that to the project. You can activate ChaRM for this project.
Please get back in case u have any doubt on this.
