  • Home Share ATV 3 not working

I cannot get Home Sharing to work on my ATV.  It works from my husband's iTunes account, but not mine, so I know we installed it correctly.  I logged out of iTunes on my computer and back in, and turned off Home Share on my computer and back on...nothing works. Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

  • Home Share for the Verizon iPhone 4

When will the Verizon iPhone 4 have this feature it has been 2 months since 4.3 was released for the ATT iPhone 4 and they received the mobile hotspot support we had early on but Apple failed to give us homeshare?

Are you connected to the same wifi network as the computer you want to home share with?
Have you gone under settings-iPod-home sharing and put in the apple id?
Have you gone into iTunes and turned on home sharing in iTunes?

  • Home Share iTunes Library Not Loading

My itunes library from my old computer will not load onto my new computer. I have home share set up, everything is authorized ,etc. Both computers recognize each others libraries, however my new computer (macbook pro) will not load the library from my old computer (pc). It just says "loading" but never completes the task. I thought maybe it would take some time so i left it alone, but when i came back to it (ive done this three times now) the shared library name has apparently disappeared on its own. The pc loads my mac's library just fine, but my mac wont load up my original library from the pc, which has EVERYTHING on it. PLEASE HELP!

Another I thing I tried recently is using the "change" option (in the Add or Remove Programs section) to fix and reinstall iTunes but it still hasn't made any difference.

  • FOUND A FIX FOR COMPUTER NOT RECOGNIZING IPOD!!!

I have read several threads over the past week relating to the issue of iPods not connecting to the computer. The specifics were:
    1. iPod not appearing on desktop
    2. iTunes did not recognize iPod
    3. Disk Utility and iPod updater did not register that iPod was connected
    4. THE IPOD DID CONNECT TO ANOTHER COMPUTER!!!! (I would recommend trying this if you can, if it does connect to another computer you can isolate that it is the computer not the iPod causing the problem)
I really did not want to restore my iPod or reinstall system software, but after reading a suggestion about resetting PRAM, I thought I might as well give it a try, as nothing else was working. IT WORKED!!! And it was only at the cost of resetting my computer's clock, even better!!! If this solves your problem please post here to let me know.
If you dont know how to reset your PRAM check out this link:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238

Good call, resetting the PRAM and NVRAM did the trick for me! I got some message about a new firmware that I should install on my iPod, and then after that I got messages saying that my computer couldn't recognize my iPod, and that I needed to initialize the disk.
    Your suggestions saved me!

  • Home sharing for iTunes not working between my Windows 7 and Windows Vista?

I have a HP laptop with Windows 7 on it. The laptop has the latest edition of iTunes. My desktop computer has Windows Vista and iTunes 9. When I turn on home sharing, the library on my Windows 7 appears under 'Shared' on my vista. However, the library from my vista will NOT appear on my laptop.
I have turned the home sharing option on and off multiple times on both computers. I've also edited the preferences for the 'Sharing' option to make sure that both libraries can be seen and shared. Yet it still isn't working. I have even tried restarting my wireless router and it STILL is not working.
Is anyone else having a similar problem or know how to help?

  • Libraries showing up on home share that ARE NOT mine

I'm just starting college in another state so I enabled home sharing on my laptop so I could look at my content from back home on my laptop. At first the "Shared" tab on the left never showed up when I enabled it, but after a day, three different libraries appeared--and NONE of them are mine.
How is it possible that different libraries are showing up? Aren't music libraries tied to our Apple account? I've never enabled home sharing on another computer, so I don't know how this is possible. Even more confusing, I have no idea who these people are. How did their music libraries appear on MY iTunes??

iTunes can see shared libraries on the same local network. In a dorm, that could be a lot of people. If you don't want to share, go into preferences and disable it.

Absolutely not. You can buy or rip songs from various sources, and add them to your iTunes library.

Walk down the hall and meet them. Welcome to college!

  • The home share folder does not show up after turning on home share program?

After turning on Home Sharing in iTunes on my desktop the 'share' folder never shows up?

You need to make sure all devices are connected to the same network. If you have a guest network set up for other users, your devices need to be connected to the same network.

  • Family Share for iTunes not working but AppStore works

Having issues with Family Share and iCloud?
I can't seem to share all my music for Family Share - in particular CD's that have been imported into my account don't appear to be available. Additionally, it seems like I continue to lose music loaded to the cloud, sometimes its a whole album and other times portions of whole albums are missing. Is this a "feature" or "fault"?

See HT203206: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • HT1420 how do I deauthorize a computer not in my possession?

I forgot to deathorize my old MacBookPro.  Is there a way to deauthorize it from my new one?  Please tell me I'm not screwed...

About De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
Also, see iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.

  • HT3819 home share setup question

i just enabled home share for the first time (on my new iMac) but received the message that 4 of 5 devices are allocated (i am guessing that the list may include old iPods?) where can i review / edit the list of devices that are candidates for home share?

    mewallen wrote:
thanks. that has allowed me to reduce the number to one. ideally, it would have been possible to see what devices had been authorized
Mot of the time it is the same computer which has been authorized mor ethan once.
This happens if you do not deauthorize it and you reinstallthe OS, change the hardware somehow (different HD or add more RAM).
