De-Authorize Old PC??

I recently got rid of an old PC without de-authorizing i-Tunes.How do I now de-authorize my old PC without access to it?I can only find the option to authorize an de-authorize my new computer.I've read somewhere I can still de-authorize the old pc but cain't find out how.
Thanks

You can't deauthorise a computer you no longer have access to on it's own. However once you reach the limit of 5 authorisations you have the option to deauthorise them all in one go from your iTunes account and start over. Just note that you can only use this option once a year: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation

  • De-authorize old computer for synching?

How can I identify which computers are authorized to sync with my iPhone and de-authorize the ones that I no longer use?
I bought a new Macbook Air because my old Macbook died. During the sync process, the computer asked if I wanted to authorize this new computer to sync with my iPhone. I of course said yes because it's my only computer. When it finished syncing, it said that I had now authorized 4 of the allowed 5 computers to sync with my iPhone.
Do I need to de-authorize old computers? Or will it offer to let me to do that when I try to authorize a 6th one?
    Thanks!

Thanks for the speedy reply! I actually need to deauthorize computers I no longer have access to. This related article - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2254113 - had that answer for me. It seems I'll have to wait until I hit five computers and the "deauthorize all computers" option is apparent. Hopefully I'll remember once I get there!

  • Insufficient Authorization old Invoices Will Not Release to Accounting

I have some old invoices that will not release to accounting.  Instead of trying to secure a new credit card from the customer how can I remove the credit card information/or trick the order into thinking it doesn't need it so that I can get the open billing documents to the customers open account?
Please any help will be appreciated.
Again the error message is insufficient authorization, need to get these documents released to accounting.

That is true...if it has been partially utilized in another Billing doc, then it wont let delete the lines...
So when this hapenned to me, this is what i did....and maybe this is not the best practice.
I first got a Manual authorization in the sales order. Now generally we get the auth. from a 3rd party application Delego. So when we did the manual auth, we just entered a fake Auth number. This way, we tricked the system to let us post the Invoice to accounts. But definitely it posted to the card receivable account insted of the customer account. Now the settlement of this item would fail because the Auth number is not valid but the settlement fails only after it does the additional G/l posting to post to the Clearing account. To clear off this clearing account posting, we created a credit memo for the same amount and again with a fake Auth so now when this credit is processed for settlement, it also fails but reverses the provious debit...so that all accounts are now all balanced out.
So now remains the customer....so we finally did a Debit memo equal to the original invocie amout and now this posts to the customers account.
I was unable to find any other solution and was skeptical of doing any enhancement or changes just for a single case. Pls also let me know if you come across any better ideas.

  • How to De-Authorize old computer?

I recently bought a new computer and installed iTunes on it, then "authorized" that computer so that I could sync my purchased music on that computer.
I noted when I authorized that computer, a message said that this was the 3rd active computer I have authorized.
I think I must have authorized an old work computer that I no longer have access to.
I should just have my laptop and new desktop at home authorized.
Is there a way I can "de-authorize" my old work computer, now that I don't have access to it anymore? I realize this was probably something I should have done before I quit my job... but it's too late for that now.

Nevermind... I found the answer to my own question here:

  • Computer Authorization - old email account

    Hi
I bought songs with an old apple id (email) and I don't remember the password so I can't authorize the songs to play on my new computer.  If I try to reset the password it wants to send the new password to the old account which I no longer have.  I tried to reset the password by answering personal questions however I must not have setup those questions in my old account because when it asked for my birthday and I typed it in Apple said it didn't matech.
Is there anything I can do?
    Thanks
    Joe

I've got this problem too.  I've got an album I like that I purchased with my univeristy email back in 2007, but I'm using a different email now and the university email has been deactivated.  I went through the password recovery process page, but I don't know whether or not my university will forward the password email.  I haven't gotten anything yet.. :\  Disappointing.

  • De-Authorize old computers that I no longer own

I'd like to de-Authorize a few old computers that I no longer own. iTunes says that I have four while I only have two. One was sold, one has a new motherboard so iTunes thinks that it's new and the old motherboard no longer exits.

Read the fine print in the linked article: "The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than 5 authorized computers, or if you have used this option within the last 12 months."

  • How do I de-authorize old PC's

    How do I de-athorize old PC's that I don't have anymore?

You don't, nor do you need to until you reach the limit of 5.  At this point you deauthorize all.

  • Multiple User Accounts Belonging to the Same Person--Authorization

    Hello,
I've used iTunes for a number of years, and have accumulated a handful of Apple user accounts over that time period. I've always been able to de-authorize old computers and re-authorize new ones to be able to play all of the songs I've purchased over the years on whatever machine I'm using currently, but I just got a new laptop with Windows 7 and have only been able to get into one of my Apple accounts on it. Obviously I'm aware that it's not ideal for me to be one person with multiple accounts, but as my email accounts changed (and as I got older), I just kept re-registering. Now, iTunes seemingly isn't even registering that my two older accounts exist: my passwords, which I know are right, are no longer working to sign me in, much less to authorize this new computer to play the songs I bought probably 6 or 7 years ago.
I was wondering if there is anything I can do to get Apple to condense my accounts, especially considering that the original iTunes account I had was through AOL (the later two are through gmail accounts), though my end goal is really just to be able to play all of my music.
Any ideas on how to solve any of these issues would be greatly appreciated! At this point iTunes isn't even recognizing the older two accounts, as I said earlier.
    Thanks!
    Elise

You said it right there, in your post... Call Apple for support with combining the accounts. I have never heard of them doing that. But, if they can, you would need to contact them as they do not read these forums.

  • Transferring purchases from iPod to new computer / Authorization

I recently purchased a new Dell laptop and downloaded and installed iTunes. I've authorized the laptop, so now i've used 3 out of my 5 authorizations (old PC, work computer, and new laptop). I bought 2 albums off of iTunes at work and was able to transfer them to my new laptop with no problems. When I try to transfer the other 15 albums I bought on my old PC, however, it says my laptop is not authorized to play them. It's obviously authorized since I was able to transfer SOME of my purchased music, so why is it saying it's not authorized?? When I called Apple support the other day at 5:50, the guy put me on hold for five minutes and then just hung up so that when I tried to call back it was after 6:00 and they were closed! Nice customer service, Apple.

    There is authorization and "authorization"
I did a similar move. I replaced my Itunes server with a new build. I successfully saved off the old Itunes folder to my Network Attached Storage box and later copied that archive from the NAS into My Music on the new Itunes server.
The Itunes folder contained different types of data.
For CDs I loaded DIRECTLY into Itunes, the data includes authorization to play the data - because Itunes verified that it was an origional CD that was played directly into Itunes.
In a similar manner, if you have Itunes data that was purchased and downloaded from the Itunes Store, then you need to "Authorize" the computer with Itunes in order to play that Itunes Store procured data. This is the "you have done 3 of 5" authorization.
Finally, for CDs that I loaded into my old server via Windows Media Player, when I did a consolidate in Itunes, it went out and found the WMP data on a disk I dedicated to WMP music files, and since it was authorized in WMP, Itunes would play it. When I went to the new server, Itunes had the Itunes version of the songs in its library, but would NOT play the songs that had been migrated into Itunes from WMP until I actually connected the hard drive with the WMP files on it so Itunes could satisfy itself that it has "autorized" copies of the music. As soon as I connected the Windows Media Player data drive, Itunes did a compare and updated the Itunes versions of the songs imported from WMP to authrized and plays them just fine.
The alternative is to reload from the origional media.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I de-authorize home sharing on computers I no longer have access to?

I am trying to turn on home sharing with a new work computer...but cannot because I am already authorized on past machines (5 in total).  How do I DE-AUTHORIZE old machines without access to them?

If you have reached the 5 computer limit you can deauthorise all and then just authorise the latest ones...

  • Deauthorization Question

I had my old PC authorized on iTunes. My HD crashed and I purchased a new PC (it was time to upgrade anyway). Since old PC crashed, no opportunity to deauthorize old PC. Installed iTunes on new PC. Itunes thinks I have 2 PCs authorized. How do I authorize old since I cannot access that PC?

You can't de-authorise a 'dead' computer. Once you reach the limit of 5 authorisations you have the option once a year deauthorise all computers in one go. Until that happens this one stays authorised: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation

  • Impact of Analysis Authorization on Users using old Authorization

    Hi All,
I have question regarding Analysis Authorization. Our system has old authorization concept and as part of our project we decided to go for Analysis authorization for Cost Center object. We activated analysis authorization for cost center, assigned it to test user id and found that its working fine in Dev. But it has impacted other users in the system. They are not able to access any other reports and data providers which were not even referring cost center. What is the proper way to activate analysis authorization without impacting access to existing users.
    - Som

    Hello Andreas,
Sorry to ask you directly here, I didn't get answer from this forum. We will migrate to the new analysis authorization from old reporting concept. I have read the book "An Expert guide to new SAP BI security features" by SAP Lavs, but still confused with some parts. My questions is:
Are there two ways to create authorizations as follows?
    1. we can type tcode rsecadmin>Maintence button>create a new authorization.
    2. the following part taken from the book:
    Steps for Generating Authorizations
    1. Activate Business content
    2. Load Datastore objects
    3. Generate Authorizations
    4. View Generation Log.
In the first step, OTCA_DS01 to OTCA_DS05 and OCCA_O01 to OCCA_O03 are Datastore objects required to be activated.
In the second step, tcode rsecadmin-->generation button --> type OTCA_SDS01 to OTCA_DS05 into respective filed. Should we always type these 5 objects everytime when we create authorization?
When we should use the second way to create authorizations? and what is the diffrence between them?
Any answers will be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance!

You may have already done this, but try de-authorizing your computer (through the iTunes:Store menu) and then re-authorizing it.
