De-authorizing and re-authorizing for iTunes

I have iTunes on 5 computers, two of which are gone. Can I de-authorize all computers associated with my Apple ID and then re-authorize the three I want?

Sorry, but you can't. You can, however, log into your iTunes Store and use the "deauthorize all" command and then reauthorize the computers you're using now.

No, only computers are authorised, iOS devices (iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches) don't need authorising and aren't included in the 5.

When I try to sync my iPhone 4 with iTunes on my comp it tells me the song could not be found. So I'll manually find and ID it for iTunes. It asks me if it can find the rest but never can. Now it can't even sync playlists because songs can't be found.

So I'll manual dint he song and identify it for iTunes. iTunes will then ask me if it am identify the rest for me but it never can. Playlists on my phone have disappeared because I can no longer sync the songs because iTunes can't find them. This all started when I put ringtones from iTunes onto my phone. Maybe it somehow deleted the music library because I get is exclamation marks by all the songs which no longer play ( which is most of them)
Please help me this is so frustrating!!

I had the same problem. My phone wasn't finding it so I tried plugging it into my laptop and it said I needed the latest iTunes which I already had.... I unplugged my phone from my laptop and did a soft reset to my phone (hold down the lock button and home button at the same time until your phone turns off) once it turns back on you should find the update... Click general... Software update. Worked for me!

Where are the PLAYLIST and EQ preferences for iTunes located?

Somehow I lost my iTunes Playlist when I moved the audio files to another hard drive on the same computer. Does anyone know where the PLAYLIST and EQ preferences for iTunes located on a Mac? Also can I make a copy or backup of those preferences? Thanks!

There are no Playlist Preferences - playlists are saved into the iTunes Library database file (what we call "the Library" in these forums).
There is however a com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist file - it's in the ~user/Library/Preferences folder. Individual EQs for your tracks are stored in the iTunes Library file.

OK, by coincidence this happened to me just yesterday as I was updating a book, I was doing other things and noticed after about an hour it was still showing loading lines.
Its locked up somewhwere and I just closed/ force close if needed.. and started the delivery process again.
This time it took 20 minutes or so which was what I expected.
If it happens a second time, try starting the Publish from within iBA, but first check the xxxxxxx.itmsp number and check if it issues a new xxxxx.itmsp, if it does.. delete the old one to avoid confusion.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

You might be seeing a Micro USB cable (Not HDMI) that is because your Apple Tv is in Recovery Mode due to some reason and it needs to be Restored by connecting it to iTunes on your Computer. So if you have a Micro USB cable ( which comes with Android Smart Phones ) then try to connect your Apple Tv to your computer using the same and with the help of iTunes Restore your Apple Tv to Factory Settings. Deleting Items on Apple TV and Ripping Videos for iTunes

I have two questions that if answered would take care of the only problems that I have had with my Apple TV and they are really not problems, just questions.
First, Apple suggests that if you have a slower wireless system it is better to sync and move copies of items to the Apple TV rather than stream. No problem. I moved my audio library to my Apple TV and it works great. It also said when syncing that it would removal those items that will fill up the Apple TV disk in an order of preference. My music library took up about 1/4 the space on the disk. I do not want any of my music removed if and when the disk starts to fill. I will watch movies that I have ripped from disks or other sources through my Apple TV but as I view those, I will either selectively manage them or want to delete them from the Apple TV disk.
My first question, is how do you selectively delete items from the Apple TV disk.
My second question is that as I convert video from what ever format they are in into Apple TV compatible format (H264 or MPEG4, I can get them on my desktop or actually onto the drive that holds all of my ITunes music. But how do I get them into the iTunes movie folder so I can sync them to my Apple TV since they were not downloaded through iTunes?

ITunes Radio ~ why buy another album ever and why pay for iTunes match

With the new Radio that is coming to us in the UK sometime, can someone tell me why i would ever again subscribe to Spotify etc or why I would ever buy another album in a shop or over iTunes, or why I would ever pay for iMatch at 25 quid a year for uploading my songs i already own...?? As i understand it, all i will have to put up with is a few ads, which I an easily live with if I am not buying say 10 albums per year any more and am able to listen to whatever i like when I like...?

First of all, are you going to have wifi or 4g whenever you wish to listen to music for the rest of your life? If no, then that's one reason you might want to buy music.
Secondly, Like above poster said, iTunes radio doesn't give you much freedom in picking what you want to listen to.
Thirdly, even if they eventually do let you do that, a la spotify, rdio, it'll probably cost you a lot more than what you're paying for iTunes match right now.
Finally, even spotify and rdio have their limitations in what and how you can listen to your music.

HT1338 I just bought a brand new mac mini, and finally got it authorized for itunes. I purchased some tv programs and now it is telling me I canʻt play them because my monitor doesnʻt support HDCP... I am using a 30inch mac monitor...

Any ideas how to get this working? I donʻt have money to go buy a new monitor...

Unfortunately HDCP is a technical requirement for the playback of some movie formats, for example Blu-ray. If your monitor does offer this, make sure your cabling and connection type also supports it. If your monitor doesn't offer this, I'm afraid you may have to consider buying a new or additional monitor. Any other suggestions I could make are not permitted on this forum, I'm afraid.
I have this problem too. I have a 2005/2006 Apple Cinema Display that's still in perfect working order, but doesn't have support HDCP. I had to find an alternative way of playing back my blu-rays.

After updating to Lion, my computer is no longer authorized for itunes

after updating to Lion, when I open Itunes, it says my computer is no longer authorized, and all my music is gone off my phone, and when I click on "authorize", it says that it is already authorized....then i get the never-ending popup loop that says the computer is not authorized...so I say, "authorize", and the popup says it is already authorized...end result being that my music files are mysteriously empty.
Anyone got a solution for this?

HT1420 how can I get a list of the computers authorized for iTunes?

I am trying to associate a new MacBook to my iTunes account. I am told that I have 5 computers already associated to the account. The option I am presented is to deauthorize all 5, then start over. Short of this, no other options are available. Is there a way to get a list of the 5 computers, so I know which ones I need to address, if I still have access to them?
