De-authorizing macs you no longer have?

I have a weird situation, I have 5 macs authorized with my iTune Library but I have only 2 macs that I use as the other 3 have been sold or given to family/friends.
The query I have is how can I de-authorize the 3 macs that I not longer have???

iTunes>store>deauthorize all, then simply reauthorize only the systems you're using.
You can do a deauthorize all only when the "5" limit is reached, & it can only be done once per year. That's why it's important to deauthorize a system, if possible, prior to doing any major work on the system, even an OS re-install.

How do you de-authorize computers that you no longer have possession of? I had authorized a work computer that crashed and is now with my IT dept.

If you have reached the maximum of 5 authorisations then you can de-authorise all your computers via your iTunes account (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420) - you can then re-authorise any that you need. If you havn't reached the 5 limit (or have already done a 'de-authorise all' in the past 12 months), but still want to de-authorise that one then you try http://www.apple.com/support/itunes, but I don't know how/whether they can de-authorise a particular computer, as opposed to all of them.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • Is it possibe to 'deauthorize' a computer that you no longer have?

I got a new computer and when I 'authorized' it, it told me that this was 5 of 5 authorized computers. I 'deauthorized' my last computer before trading it in on my new one and my MacBook Pro is also 'authorized'. The other 3 must be on very old computers that I no longer owm. Is there any way to 'deauthorize' them?

If you no longer have the computer(s) you want to deauthorise,
Log in to iTunes,  go to "view your account info" on the itunes store,  deauthorise all five, (Please Note: this can only be done Once every 12 months)  and then re-authorize your current Computer(s) one at a time.

  • How to make Outlook stop asking for a password when you no longer have a valid password?

Many people have asked how to get Outlook to stop prompting for a password, but the answers given are for people who have a valid password. My question is different. You've graduated from school or left your job. You no longer have access to an Exchange
server. Within Outlook, you have an historical archive of your emails messages and you need to keep them. You can't send email because you no longer have access to that Exchange server, but you have a local cache of the address book in Outlook, which is valuable
to you and you want to continue to be able to use.
How do you keep the account in Outlook but have it stop prompting you for a password in this specific case? Remember, you never will have a valid password to this Exchange server again.

Well you can manually recover your lost PST password with the command Pst19upg.exe -i filename.psx then press enter. After using this
command your pst files will be free from password and you can easily again use your outlook files. You can also recover pst password with the assist of pst password recovery tool.

  • How do you retrieve files from a Time Capsule backup that was made by a computer you no longer have?

I have a Time Capsule that has backed up five computers over the last six years.  Four of those computers I no longer have or the drives are not working.  I want to retrieve some old pictures from these backups. They are stored in large ".sparsebundle" files.

The first choice that you should consider is to use Migration Assistant on your Mac.
Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Migration Assistant
The last choice would be to try the steps below that work for me......but there is no guarantee that they will work for you. Also, please be aware that there is always a chance that the backups for the Macs that you still have might be damaged in the process if things go wrong.
Proceed at your own risk. The advice mentioned below is worth about as much as you paid to visit this web page.
    If you wish to continue......
Pick one sparsebundle file from an "old" Mac and double click on it to see if that will mount the drive icon on the Mac computer that you have there. This will be a white "disk" icon, likely named Time Machine Backups, similar to the illustration below:
You may be asked for a password when you double click on the sparsebundle file. That might be the Time Capsule disk password, or it might also be the administrator password for the "old" Mac.
If you have made it this far, please report on your progress.

  • Reformatted my Mac and no longer have Garagband, iMovie, etc.

I reformatted my Mac and installed the new 10.8.2 OSX
And found I no longer have GarageBand, iMovie etc.
How am I able to redownload and install these software?
    Cheers,
    46

Not sure why you reformatted your Mac's Drive before Installing Mountain Lion..?
Formatting erases everything from the Hard Drive and at this point you will only be able to get those App's back in one or two ways...
    1. Restore them from your Time Machine or other backup, if they are not to old and compatible with 10.8.
    2. Not as easy, fall back to the OS X and App's that originally came on your iMac and then do a normal 10.8 upgrade without reformatting.
    3. Buy the latest versions of GarageBand and iMovie from the App Store.

  • De-authorizing computer you no longer own

I have two other computers that are authorized to use the music purchased with my iTunes account. I would like to de-authorize them but because they are no longer mine i can't do it the easy way. I tried apple help but what it told me do do in such situation didn't work.

You can only do a "deauthorize all", if you have reached the 5 authorization limit. To do an "all", you will have to go to your account from the main store window, by clicking on the icon in the upper right corner. Once on the account info page, the 2nd section will have show how many authorized computers you have & if you have 5 authorized systems, there should be a "deauthorize all" icon. If you haven't reached the 5 limit, the next step will be to contact the store to do a "deauthorize all" for you. If you need to e-mail the store, select the "authorization help" link from the customer service link below. Explain what your situation is, including the fact that you have no access to these other systems to get them deauthorized. Once the store does this, you will still have to go back to re-authorize what you need. I think this covers everything, but please post back if you any further questions.
So sorry, wrong link, try this one.

How can I deauthorize a computer I no longer have? I was trying to sign into my itunes on my computer and it said that it was already being used on 5 other computers and that I would have to deauthorize one of them before I could sign in. • HT201318 How to downgrade when you no longer have the Iphone

I no longer have my Iphone and need to cancel my storage how do I do that? Which means I now longer have the serial number. Help!!

If you're signed into your iCloud account on your computer, you can downgrade from there.  Otherwise contact the Apple online store at the number shown on the bottom of this page.  They process storage upgrade refunds and should be able to help you with this.  Also, if you ever need to find your serial number and have ever synced your phone with iTunes, you can find it by doing the following:
    Launch iTunes on your computer.
Hold down your Control key, then on the menu bar in iTunes click iTunes>About iTunes (Mac) or Help>About iTunes(PC).
Any previously synced devices will scroll in a pop-up window; press the space bar to stop scrolling so you can write down the serial number.

  • HT1329 how do you do this if you no longer have your old computer?

I have an old ipod and I'm trying to get all the music thats on it but I no longer have the old computer that it was connected to. is there any way to get the music out?

You can, as long as the previous computer was not a Mac and your new computer is Windows, and as long as the iPod is not so old that it connects using FireWire (unless you new computer happens to have FireWire).  Having or not having the old computer does not matter...
You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your new computer, add them to your iTunes library.
NOTE:  Previous purchases made by you from the iTunes Store can also be re-downloaded at no cost from the iTunes Store Purchased screen.

  • How do you delete/deactivate an Apple ID from an iPhone that you no longer have?

I traded in my iPhone 5 for a Samsung Galaxy S4 about a month and a half ago. My friends who still have iPhones and use iMessage are having trouble sending me messages, as it still tries to send through iMessage even though I no longer have the iPhone. I also cannot set up my visual voice mail app on my S4. I have been told that the problem is that my Apple ID is still associated with my phone number, even though I no longer use an iPhone. How do I delete or deactivate my Apple ID without having the iPhone to logout of my Apple ID?
I have gone to a support website and unregistered all my previous apple devices from my Apple ID.
