De-registering an iPhone

I am in the process of wanting to sell my iPhone 3GS. I have restored the unit back to the original settings but was wondering how I can de-register the device with Apple prior to sale?

You don't as far as I know.
You can only buy from the itunes store in the country in=which you reside.

Iphone will sync itunes content with one computer at a time. If you sync to another, it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

it is liklely carrier locked. You would have to contact the carrier to which it is locked and ask if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.

Is the English sim from the original carrier as that is usually the message you get with a carrier locked phone.

I am unable to register my iPhone on iTunes

After 3 days I am still unable to register my iPhone on iTunes. Everytime I try to start the process I receive the message "An error has occured: please try again later".
I have done all of the software updates for iTunes, iPhone, confirmed updated terms and conditions, tried to register as if I didn't have an Apple ID, etc....all to no avail. Help.
