De-select all mail How???

Hi
I've spent some time trying to find out how to de-select all mail so that I can drag & drop spam into the trash with out the next message opening.
Any one cause I failed.

I think back in 97 when I used netscape the mail prog had a deselect all? and I was looking for something like that.

If you have iOS7 yes. In the mail list you tap 'edit' and then choose hte mails you want, then at the lower right you'll see the option to trash the mails.
If you do not have iOS7 then you cannot mass delete.

Is there any way to select all mail messages and delete them?

I get lots of mail, and most of it I don't keep, or keep over on my MacBook. Is there a way to select all the Mail messages and delete them, or do I need to go through them one at a time?

In your inbox in the phone you can mark the mails one by one and then tab delete.
In Trash you can delete all with one tab.

I have so many mails a day and I'd like to read and delete them selectively.
News letters from shopping mall sites, business mails from partners, customer's feedback mails and notification mails from SNS .....
After reading some interesting mail, there's mails I don't want to open for today.
I mean it's NOT that I stop subscription, just wanna delete for now.
But, there's no "Select all" button in Mail List and I cannot select mails to be removed all at a time.
So, the Mail app force me to tap each mails that I don't need to touch (one at a time... one at a time)
Given that you've got mails too lot a day, the number of times you have to tap would really mass up your day life!
To delete all, We should go to trash box and tap 'delete all'
but before we move each mail we need select all button.
it's deferent delete all and select all. delete all button is enough and useful for now in trash box. I think select all button in Mail Inbox(List) is urgent issue.

I am showing 3.2 gb in mail after deleting all mail how can I correct this

I am trying to reduce the amount of used memory on the iPhone Mail is showing usage of 3.2 gb even after deleting all mail.The memory did not change after getting rid of all trash, junk and saved emails.

Settings , iCloud , account, mail, advanced , deleted messages-remove. Remove after one day is the quickest way to get rid of these.

I have a new i phone 4 with the iOS version 4.3.5, when i'm in my inbox of my account, i just can select one by one and delete my message only one at a time. But i have a lot messages, his there a way to check all message when i click on 'Edit'' ??

I know someone will chip in that there is a place to suggest enhancements for iOS devices ( and that this isn't it )..but this would be a nice feature..to be able to select multiple emails...the Blackberry may be a crummy camera and music player, but at least you can select and delete multiple emails.....

Why is Mail on iOS missing basic features like rules, folders, selecting all mails at once?

Additionaly, why isn't it possible to
– add an image/movie from within Mail while composing a message?
– add multiple images oder movie files at once?
– sort messages by other criteria from within Mail?
– switch between html and plain text formatting?

Because that's how it is. No-one here can tell you why something is designed the way it is.

I dont want to have to manually copy each email that i open to my hard drive.

Below "Keep copies of messages for offline viewing:" select Only messages I've read.

Pop email account - no option to leave mail on server - no option to select all messages

I have recently obtained a Playbook and I use the latest OS version 2.1.0.1314 So, unlike other users, I did not experience the lack of an email application. I think the email application is excellent but it does have a couple of shortcomings. I would expect an option to leave email on the server when deleting emails on the Playbook. I have checked all the types in setup, not just Pop, and none offer this feature. I am a bit puzzled by another post on this site that refers to such an option. Was it a feature previously? I would also expect a bulk selection option so that all emails could be tagged for deletion without having to tag each one separately. These 2 features may well have been requested from Blackberry already and hopefully they will be included in a future release. Do Blackberry have a Suggestion Box?

Let me try and explain why that option is not required or even relevant to Playbook.
An email Client like Outlook or Thunderbird goes and gets a copy of your email from the webmail and stores it on your computer permanently. That "pop" action very often deletes the webmail version so you have an option to leave it there or not.
Playbook messages app is not an email client. Think of it as a remote control for your webmail. It takes a temporary copy of any webmail less than 7 days old (you can vary it between 1 day and 30 days) and whatever you do with it in Playbook happens to webmail. It uses your webmail's own rules for things like storing copies of sent mail.
If you delete a mail, it deletes it from webmail. If you don't, it doesn't. When it gets to 7 days old it just does not sync with Playbook and you can't see it any more. But it will still be there in Webmail unless you purposefully delete it with Playbook.
If you want to delete a whole page, tap the top one and the bottom one at the same time to select all mails between. It is most effective when in Portrail mode. Remember though this will delete them from your webmail.

There is a mailbox that says all mail. In it there are 27,000 messages. Can I just delete the entire list at one time?

Ther is no supported way or feature that allows you select all mail at once for deletion. I was in a discussion where a user came up with a trick that seems to work. Read this and try it.

Spool requests -- select all problems

Good Day all:
I am running into a interesting problem with the SAP Spool. The Tax Reporter generates several identical tax forms across company codes. For instance, an unemployment tax form is generated across company codes 1111 to 9999 and one form is generated for each company code within that range. What's happening is this, when the users "select all" then print, the first company code is showing up on print queue for all of the printed forms. So for instance there are 20 company codes and the each company code has 1 form. The first company (1111) will show up in each subsequent print job, even though each form has a different spool number assigned to it. Wheras I would expect to see 1111 for the first form, 2222 for the next and so on .
So my question is this. If the user chooses to select-all, then how would we go about separating the spool numbers and jobs as they entered the queue?

try this, just to make sure that there is no printer issue. after selecting all the spool use 'Print with changed parameters (Shift + F1) (small printer icon) and make sure there is only one copy in the next screen.

Use Mail Scripts. Its Add Addresses function will collect all the addresses from all selected messages and allow you to select the ones you want to add and allow you to create groups as you go.

I am soooooooooooo confused now. Ok, if you are having problems with Yahoo Mail and Gmail but you do not use Apple's Mail you need to do the following:
1 - Post in Yahoo's Mail forums and/or contact their tech support.
2 - Post in Gmails forums and/or contact their tech support.
Neither of the above are Apple's products.

How do you select all in spam folder of yahoo mail classic?

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and discovered there is no 'select all' tab for Yahoo classic mail. There has to be a way to delete all the junk mail without having to check each message individually.Please tell me the secret!

FYI, I discovered that the problem is with Safari 6.0.1. When I log into my Yahoo mail account with Firefox, both the 'select all' tab and the checkbox at the far left in the 'From' / Subject' header above your e-mail list are present. I checked with my son who is still running Lion, and all of the above information is in his Yahoo account. The Safari he has installed is 5.7.1.
I wonder what other anomolies I will find.
Apple if you see this, how about fixing this in your next Safari update?

Ipod Touch Mail: How do you select all and delete?

I recently decided to start using the mail app on my Ipod Touch. I found the "edit" button for deleting emails, but can't figure out how to select all.
Can anyone tell me how to select all of the messages so i don't have to do it individually?
