Deactivate a lost device?

How do I deactivate a lost device? I am at 5 device maximum. I gave away to charity two lap tops and I lost a nano ipod. Now I can share my account on new equipment because I don't know how to deactivate the hold devices. Help?

Printer prints but display says Communication lost (device - control panel); Turn off then on.

HP Color LaserJet CM3530fs
The printer is printing when asked to do so by a computer but the display says:
Error
Communication lost (device <-> control panel); Turn off then on.
The orange attention light is illuminated and the display is always lit and shows the statement above.
It does not improve when switched off and on or power disconnected for long periods or pushing reset button at rear of unit.
Embedded web server works normally and thinks that all is ok.
Buttons on control panel do nothing. eg. I cannot photocopy or scan.
The printer is about 2 years old but gets very light use in a family home.

How to deactivate the old device

Hi All,
Currently I have 2 device.let a (old device) and b (new device).
After replace with a by b.
Then I want to Deactivate the a device in System but donu2019t want to delete.
If any user try to use that old device a , then the warning message is coming u201C device is inactiveu2019
How can I do that?

Hi Indu,
Have you already thought of moving such "outsorted" devices to a special stock? Alternatively you may choose to allocate a special (user-) status(for example, BLOCKED) to the device/equipment. This also will also prevent a further usage of this device.

Not true at all.
You can sync as many devices to one library as you like.
You can only authorize 5 computers to your itunes account. This has nothing to do with ipod/iphone/ipad/Apple tv

If you set up the Find My iPad service in the Settings prior to the iPad going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, wiped of its data or locked (which does the same thing as activating the screen lock), though it depends on a number of factors: the iPad is turned on, is connected to a WiFi or 3G network, and has not had the Find My iPad service turned off or the iPad completely restored. Log into icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone section.
If you did not set up Find My iPad, then there is no way to track or deactivate it. Report the loss the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPad (the iTunes Store, for instance).

Back now. Are you saying that you entered you iCloud ID and password in the Find My iPhone app (see photo below), and it said you don't have an iCloud account? Are you sure this is the ID for your iCloud account (check Settings>iCloud next to Account at the top on the device you are trying to track)?
Also, did you try using this ID and password on icloud.com on your computer to try to track it, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442? Did that work?

Why apple can't track my iPhone 4s? I have the purchase receipt, original boxing, and the device is registered in my Apple ID, it was stolen two months ago and iCloud is useless since the guy can erase the phone and set it with his own ID, I mean I bought the phone including all of it's features, and GPS is one of them, and Apple as the maker can track their own devices..

Apple has no more ability to trace an erased phone, or one with GPS turned off than you do. Apple are not a law enforcement agency and do not keep records of who owns what devices and where they are. Privacy laws prevent that sort of activity.
Other phone manufacturers do not track stolen phones either, but just like Apple, some provide services which can assist you in locating a lost device. However technical limitations prevent these services from being guaranteed to find a stolen device.

If you leave them connected to your iCloud account, then anyone that tries to activate them to use them will encounter Activation Lock. The Activation Lock will require them to enter your Apple ID & password, and it will only give them a partial email address, like 'a•••••@icloud.com', for example. The iPod has to be powered on, and it has to have a live wifi connection. If it is not showing up it may be powered off, the battery may have died, it may be in sleep mode (the wifi radio is off in sleep mode when running on the battery), or it may not be in range of any known wifi networks.
Also, since the tracking feature is a function of iCloud account credentials, if the device has been reset as new, then your daughters iCloud account and its settings will have been erased. In that case, the device will never show up again.
If the device did not have a passcode lock and/or account restrictions enabled on it, then anyone finding it could also go into the iCloud account settings and disable the "find my iPod" setting.
