Deactivate Auto-Print?

Hi! - I have a PDF that I want to be able to read on-screen, but whenever I open it, it automatically shunts me to a print dialog box. No matter what I do -- close the dialog box, print the document (part or all), immediately thereafter the document closes. So it is essentially unavailable on-screen. Given that I cannot otherwise access the file, is it possible to deactivate the auto-print feature? I've even tried printing it to another PDF (no go) and printing to an XPS file and converting that back into a PDF (turned it into gibberish). Distiller won't open the file, either. Please help! Thanks so much for any advice!

Ah -- OK! Turning off Javascript enables me to open the document, close the print dialog box, but not have the document close thereafter -- instead, a yellow bar appears above the document informing me that the document uses Javascript. That's good...but now, how do I strip the document of it's desire to always open the print dialog box upon opening? Is that possible?

HP Laserjet P4014dn won't auto print from tray 1

HP Laserjet P4014dn stopped auto printing from tray 1. Can't manually print from there either. Now it always pulls from tray 2 (bottom tray) even if paper is loaded in tray 1. Auto print is selected in software setting. SN [Personal Information Removed] CB512A. Help!

There may be a couple of reasons why the printer will not auto print from Tray 1.
The following references the User Guide for the printer which you can obtain from here:

Page 18 of the User Guide has the section "Paper Handling Menu".
This section defines the menu items that can be used to set Size and Type for Tray 1.
Page 85 of the User Guide has the start of the Configure Trays Section.
In this section there are two notes. If Tray 1 is set to ANY SIZE and ANY TYPE, the printer will pull from that tray whenever media is loaded in that Tray. If Tray 1 is set to a specific size, it will act like a Cassette. This means that it will follow the paper handling model of Trays 2, 3, etc..
Example: Tray 1 is set to Letter, Tray 2 is set to Letter. When a job is sent from the PC requesting Letter and the Sources is Auto, the printer FW will look for the highest number tray that has letter installed and pull from that tray. Thus, Tray 2 will always be used unless Tray 2 doesn't have paper.
Page 86 has the section "Configure a tray by using the Paper Handling menu".
Follow the steps in this section to validate that Tray 1 is set to ANY SIZE and ANY TYPE. If not set to ANY SIZE, ANY TYPE then change the setting to be ANY SIZE and ANY TYPE. You may have to scroll through the list of sizes and types to find what you are looking for.
Once possibility is that the printer is not detecting that paper is loaded in Tray 1. One method to verify this is to remove all paper from Tray 2 and lower trays if there are more than just Tray 2 installed. This will force the printer to pull paper from Tray 1 if paper is present. If paper is present and the Tray 1 menu items are set to ANY SIZE and ANY TYPE and the printer prompts for you to load Tray 1 with paper, it is possible that the printer is not detecting that paper is in the tray.
In this case, I would recommend you contact HP Support as the media presence sensor may no longer be working properly.

Auto Printing A PDF Using v7 Onwards

I have upgraded to version 10 of Acrobat and I am now having an issue with auto printing a PDF.
My objective is to load a PDF within a new browser window and for it to print to the default printer without need for the user to do anything. The user will press a button which will activate a perl program with javascript.
When I was using Acrobat 6 the PDF would print automatically but now it shows an alert stating "This document is trying to print.Do you want to allow this?". Selecting "Yes" prints it to the default printer on the machine.
The code I currently use which worked in Acrobat v6 (7 onwards it does not work) is, prInit('this.print({bUI: false, bSilent: true, bShrinkToFit: true});');
Any help with this is appreciated.

Adobe has found others are silently or without permission saving forms or print forms to somewhere other than the user's system.
New security restrictions have been added. See the Acrobat JS API Reference for information about creating a trusted function that is placed in an Acrobat application folder of each user needing to save or print a copy of the open PDF.

When I turn my 6500A Plus printer on it auto prints, Yahoo Daily Digest and Epicurious. I do not have these apps on my printer.

Go to your eprintcenter.com account, find it in my print apps (if not there, add it). Then run setup to remove the subscription.

Txn FF67 (Process manual bank statement) auto printing

Hi SAP,
Why after i post individual statement in Txn FF67, the system produce report (auto printing). Is there any way to stop the printing eg: in config or any settings? Because it waste our paper. We don't need that report. I did check in maintain user profile Txn SU3 but the box button print immediately is already unchecked.
I will give points for those who help me solve this problem.

There are three places where you can set the immediate print indicator:
in the fixed values of the user
in the report variants of the print programs
by planning a batch job
If at least one of the three flags is set, the immediate print is activated.

I can't deactivate auto-complete on address bar.

I am trying to deactivate auto-compelete of address bar on Firefox 4. I know it was on settings --> privacy and it still is there. However it doesn't matter if I change it to "don't remember anything". When I go back to settings or try to type something, all my bookmarks are still visible.
Why I can't change that particular setting? Others work fine though

That's exactly my problem. I do choose Nothing but when I click OK and than open settings again, it still says History and Bookmarks and keeps remembering.

Auto-print oracle report

hi all...
i created a batch file to auto-print an oracle report upon executing the batch file.
the report is successfully printed upon clicking on the batch file or by executing it in ms-dos environment on the server but it is not printed out when i execute the batch file by calling it from a visual basic program, instead i encounter a report error, REP-3002(Error initializing a printer).
please take note that the batch file is located in a windows 2000 server and a printer is already installed on the server.
The batch file has the following code:-

i am not sure why it is not able to print out the report upon calling/executing the batch file from visual basic...

I am in a similar situation and have reached a bit of an impass. I am creating the report by means of passing a dynamically created URL from WebDB to the Report Server.
I have created a procedure to do various things and was planning on calling the report via the procedure using
OWA_UTIL.redirect_url depending on the params
that the user entered. Does the UTL_HTTP work in the same means as the aforementioned? Or are they the same thing?

I gave auto print option in Po.Now my client wants to disable that,i disable in ME23N but i dont know how to disable auto-print in ME29N and ME28. Is there any configuration available or i need to do that with a programmer.

I think in your PO process it is not printing because the PO is subject to release strategy
the release in ME29N does not have a own message determination.
the only thing what happens is that the release "erases the print lock".
if your message record in the PO has the setting to print immediatly (4) , then it prints when ME29N is saved.
if your message recoprd in the PO has the setting 3, then it prints when you execute ME9F
This is totally dependend on your message condtions.
Of course a change in your message conditions will only effect POs that are created after this change, Unreleased existing POs are not effected and will print with the old settings (because the message record already exists in the PO)

Auto-print report without cutting off results

My requirement:
- print a report automatically at the end of each UUT's test
My problem:
- The report prints, but
-- some of the contents are cut off (especially long strings in indented tables)
-- the page breaks sometimes cut tables in bad places
So far I have found no way to automatically print the report in landscape mode, which would help greatly. But even better would be the ability to:
- disable indenting tables
- print tables in their entirety on one page
- reformat strings so they fit, and/or control the width of the tables
Any ideas?

Are you using the NI example for auto-printing? That example converts the report to a temp html file and sends it to the default printer. If you're using that you could change settings for the default printer to be in landscape mode which would resolve your fundamental issue without having to write a ton of code to change table properties of the report.

Follow these steps in the order presented to cancel and remove a Scheduled Delivery Print App.
Important : You must cancel the Scheduled Delivery Print App in ePrintCenter before removing the App. If you do not cancel the App first, scheduled jobs continue to print, even if the App is removed.
Step one: Cancel the Scheduled Delivery Print App
Log into your ePrintCenter account at HP ePrintCenter .
Click the Apps tab, and then click the tab for your HP product.
Click the App that you want to remove, and then click Setup .
Click Update Settings , and then click Cancel scheduled delivery .
Click Cancel Subscription .
The Scheduled Delivery Print App’s icon is still listed on your HP product's control panel display, but the scheduled deliveries are actually canceled. This allows you to access the Scheduled Delivery Print App at any time. To remove the Scheduled Delivery Print App completely, continue to the next step.
Step two: Remove the Scheduled Delivery Print App completely
Follow these steps to completely remove the Scheduled Delivery Print App. Removing the Scheduled Delivery Print App makes sure that it does not display in ePrintCenter or on the HP product control panel.
Log into your ePrintCenter account at HP ePrintCenter .
Click the Apps tab, and then click the tab for your HP product.
Click the App that you want to remove, and then click Remove .

Turn off NBC news auto print

Hi, my daughter somehow turned on the auto print function so that it prints up news from NBC every day. I went to the HP Web Services icon & selected to turn Apps Off. When I went to the Apps icon, it says that the Web Service is currently disabled. Even after doing all of that, the printer still printed up a copy of the NBC news.
Any idea how to turn this off? This is a ridiculous waste of paper.

This is how you can add / remove apps on your printer.
How to remove and add apps on a printer.
Login to HP Connected.
Navigate to Devices Tab.
Click on Add a Printer.
Enter the claim code of the printer and then navigate to the tab services.
If you have already claimed the printer on hpconnected navigate to services.
Under Services Printables in the tab which displays all the apps which the printer supports.
You will now see the above page with My Printables on <Your Printer Name>
Click on any of the app you want to add to your printer.
You will see this page with Add to My Printables.
Click on this button and there you go Your app will be available on the Printers Touch Panel.
For removing an app just select on any app which is already available on your printer and then select remove from the printer.
Similarly you can schedule and unschedule the app print as well.
NOTE: if you are not using HP Connected let me know ill provide the steps for ePrintcenter.

Eprint and auto print off

Since I FINALLY got ePrint to work again, I checked my printer, and found that it did not turn off at the time I had it scheduled for. So I connected to the printer, and set the auto off to enabled and set a time, and clicked ok. I received an error message that stated this could not be done because ePrint was ENABLED. So I turned off ePrint, and scheduled the time for the printer to turn off, and enabled it, clicked ok, and then attempted to re-enable ePrint. Imagine my surprise when ePrint would NOT enable, and the only way I could fix it was to DISABLE auto off!!!! Now exactly why would HP provide the ability for auto on/off if it created a conflict with a desireable service like ePrint.
Perhaps someone else has run into this?????

Sounds right to me. If ePrint is enabled the printer can print at ANY time. You do not want it to turn off. Very smart.
