Deactivate Button : ESS- ife and Work Events

There is a Delete button which needs to be deactivated in one of the Iviews ? How to do this. The Iview drill down is as follows
ESS->Life and Work Events->Benefits-> Delete button is on the last Iview

    Hi All
    We are uing NW04S SPS10 with ECC 6.0.
    We need to enable Life and work events in Portal.
    I have deployed the business package for ess ( erp 1.0)
    I went to Guide Procedure --> Admin --> Transport --> Mange Imported Objects ---> released the objects
    Now under Guide Procedure --> Design Time --> I see all the folders with Life and work events in it.
    I get an option to click and "OPEN' and see all screens.
    Q1) Now how to assign these screens to the users ?
    If i click the Life and work events and select anyone like MY Benefits I am getting
    <b>Fill Parameters   2  
    Edit Roles   3  
    Edit Basic Data
    2 roles out of 2 roles have no user assigned</b>
    what is this screen.I want directly the main screen where user enters his data.
    Or any  configuration is needed from my side to activate for the user.
    How to configure the screen for final output to complete the configuration of Life and Work Events.
    Pls let me know how to do it.
    Q2) What needs to be done if some additional fields have to be added to some screens or the screen flow needs to be changed.

    I'm making the configuration of LWE to, but for other countries and not for US.
    First: did you release the LWE - US? (this is the one you need to release and not the folder LWE);
    Second: assign the defaul roles to the users: Go to tab Guided Procedures -> Administration -> General -> Assign Default Roles
    After choose the process and Select (button).
    After give to the role Overseer the users you want and to the role Administrator the user who is goint to make the management of LWE.
    After this the standard will work

  • Errors while configuring Life and Work events

    Hi,
    Am getting the following errors when trying to activate enable to life and work events.
    When I try to imoprted objects,
    I am able to successfully select and release the processes
    1) change 'employement status'
    2) 'Divorce' 'Marriage'
    3) 'My First Days'
    4) 'Terminate employement'.
    But I am not able to release the processes 'Benefits' 'Birth/Adoptation'. I released these processes from the folder 'Life and Work events - US'. I am not able to release any processes from 'Life and Work events' folder. I released/trying to release the processes from workset guided procedures --> administration --> Transport --> Manage impoprted Objects
    Why am I not able to release the benefits and birth/adoption services?
    Issue 2
    For the released processes I went to Design time and initiated the processes( my first days etc). Then I went to life and work events for the employee( through ESS). I shows me the smae  screen it showd me before I did all these activities. It shows me the initiate process screen with an error message at the bottom saying  "Cannot retrieve process template: No active version of the given development object exists".
    I went to the backend and saw that the resource 'EMPLOYEE_LIFEWORK_FIRSTDAYS_SERVICE' is assigned the follwoing URL parameters
    "process.template.id=CE140F51C11711D9824C000BCD45EE55&process.autostart=true".
    Not sure why I am getting the error  "Cannot retrieve process template: No active version of the given development object exists".
    Appreciate any inputs on the same.

  • Life and work event for any country other than US.

    Hello,
    I have to implement ESS for UAE.
    In ESS we did all country specific settings and thus our "Address" application in Personal Information section is working fine now.
    Now we have to implement the life work event section "My first days".
    There we are getting "Address" application in left panel.
    Now when I am clicking in this application it shows me error :
    Country/Structure do not match application country
    So which means it requires some settings in guided procedure end in portal.
    I am assuming ....Because our address application is already working fine in Personal Information section so same should also work in My first days section using existing configuration settings of R/3.
    So I went through below wiki page :

    In the above page there is a section to update parameters in guided procedure process for address.
    GP Context = X

    I am making changes to existing Life and Work events - US only. (for testing purposes)
    In my case I only updated the Address service :
    sap_xss_service
    sap_xss_menusrv
    With the address service from R/3 which is in my case running under personal information section.
    But still I have been receiving the same error under My First Days address section.
    In the above wiki page there is a line as below :
    VERY IMPORTANT: the parameters need to give in action, after in the block, after in the main block, and after in the process (THIS IS CRUCIAL).
    I feel this is where I am missing something.
    What does this line mean...
    Can anybody help me out with the same...if you have implemented life and work event for any country other than US.

    In the above note there us a section which confuses me :
    Page 3 - Home and Area page customizing
    Step2 - In this step they say that we have to make an entry in
    IMG node access: Cross-applicaiton components -> Homepage framework ->Services -> Define Country-Specific Services (Add Entries) - (Table:V_T7XSSSERSRVCG)
    as
    Service Key:EMPLOYEE_LIFEWORK_FIRSTDAYS
    Country grouping: 01
    Link Resource:EMPLOYEE_LIFEWORK_FIRSTDAYS_DE_SERVICE
    I believe it should not be for FIRSTDAYS....it should be about service which is actually throeing the error "Countr/structure does not match"
    i.e. in this note case it should be :
    EMPLOYEE_PERSINFO_ADDRESS05

  • Setting certain fiels to display only in Life and work events

    Hello gurus,
        we are implementing life and work events and are requesting you to give some suggestions, if possible. We have a globl version of the life and work events and in the similar lines, there are life and work events for other countries like singapore, India, Now, the requirement is that certain fields in these countries should be disabled for input. For example, I do not want the date of birth to be editable. Where and how do I go about making changes like these on the life and work events for certain fields to become "display only"?
    Could anybody please suggest?

    Maria I tried what you asked for...but It came as a surprise to me that UI personalization for applications under "L&W Events" with "Ctrl+Right Click" Technique is not possible !!
    Thus according to my understanding... In order to make few fields readonly under "L&W Events" you have to go for NWDI level changes....
    Now as per your specific question "That you want same application to appear differently based on whether it is accessed from L&W Events OR it is accessed from ESS Overview section"... you can follow any of below approach :
    Approach 1:
    1. Modify your application (make fields read only) in NWDI...as per your L&W Events requirement.
    2. Now you can use this modified application as base...to make further changes with "Ctrl+Right click" technique...as then they will be applicable when user access this application from ESS Overview section...
    Approach 2:
    Create 2 separate applications useing NWDI....one for L&W Events...and another one for ESS Overview section....
    For application to be used in L&W Events you make changes using NWDI...
    And for application to be used in ESS Overview section...you can make changes using "Ctrl+Right Click" approach....
    Maria, i have not tried on what I am suggesting you....So please try it at your end and let us know.....if this works.....
    I would be glad if some Expert can comment on this approach further........
    Moreover a very strange part which I found is.....changes made to an application using "Ctrl+Right Click" approach are not visible/applicable when application is accessed from "L&W Events"....
    Which means if you have to make any UI changes under "L&W Events" applications you have to go for NWDI level changes.......

    We need to implement “Life and work events” at a client.
    The Guided Procedure for “My First Days” has been setup and works fine if tested in GP runtime, but once you click on the link “My First Days” in ESS it calls the example GP delivered with the ESS business package. Is it possible the initiate the Custom GP when an employee clicks on the link “My First Days” and how can it be done?

    For what i understand u change the ID of the standard!
    You need to create another resource on PTARQ, like EMPLOYEE_LIFEWORK_FIRSTDAYS_XX_SERVICE for example (XX is for the country) and insert the URL of PCD, like for example: ROLES://portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.iviews/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.life_work/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.lwe_myfirstdays
    You get this PCD in the properties of the iView MyFirstDays.
    To create the resource make a copy of the standard EMPLOYEE_LIFEWORK_FIRSTDAYS_SERVICE. If you just want to change this and not create another, go to the TCODE PTARQ and instead of crete resource select the option change request and insert this and just change the URL of PCD.
    If you create a new resource you need to change the service EMPLOYEE_LIFEWORK_FIRSTDAYS. In this one, in resource you put the new one you have created.

  • Life and work events in my sap erp 2005

    hi,
    BP used My SAP ERP
    i do find workset related to life and work events in the BP. I also find various links in the workset to view  LWE namely Benefits, Birth/Adoption, Change Status etc. But when I click any of these links they do nt show any Life and work events.
    IT shows me a screen with road map select template --> fill parameters --> edit roles --> set deadlines --> edit basic data.
    It shows some sort of editor that has public folders and private folders, and some stuff.
    Below is an error message saying '
    Cannot retrieve process template: No active version of the given development object exists'.
    Can any one guide me as to what needs to be done here and how to proceed and confidure LWE.
    Appreicate any help.

    Assign the LWE services to the LWE sub area here.

    Hi SDN,
    I am working on Life and Workevents using note 929447.
    1) I have copied all the folders and Processes.
    2) Created Callable Objects pointing to Country specific objects.
    3) Given default parameters as below
    sap.xss.service          EMPLOYEE_PERSINFO_ADDRESS05
    sap.xss.menusrv          EMPLOYEE_PERSINFO_ADDRESS05
    sap.xss.gp          X
    Now country specific GP applications are working fine.
    Now I have Customized Home page framework as below
    1) Created Resouce 
    ZEMPLOYEE_LIFEWORK_FIRSTDAYS_IN_SER(specifid process ID)
    2) Assigned resource to Service in Country Specific services.
    EMPLOYEE_LIFEWORK_FIRSTDAYS             40                   ZEMPLOYEE_LIFEWORK_FIRSTDAYS_IN_SER
    3) Service is already assigned to Subarea.
    EMPLOYEE_LIFEWORK_SUBLIFEWORK_2005                    EMPLOYEE_LIFEWORK_FIRSTDAYS                1
    But when i checked in Life and Work Events Area in portal
    It is saying "There are no services in this area."
    Did i miss any configuration. Please provide me solution.

    In continuation of my question...
    In order to use Life and Work Events application (For Non US)..
    I updated the process template id in resource definition in SPRO transaction.
    Earlier it was :
    URL Parameter : process.template.id=CECE64A19C8F11DAA5C1000E7FA67AEB&process.autostart=true (for US)
    now I have changed it to
    URL Parameter : process.template.id=CE140F51C11711D9824C000BCD45EE55&process.autostart=true (for non US)
    So now I guess I am actually picking up non US application..
    But now when I try to access application :
    Personal Data in My first days
    Family/member dependent
    I am getting below error :
    The following ABAP Exception occurred: SERVICEKEY_INVALID:
    caused by
    Caused by: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.modelimpl.dynamicrfc.WDDynamicRFC_Fault_Exception: Fault name: SERVICEKEY_INVALID, fault text: SERVICEKEY_INVALID
    I do not even know whether i should revert back to old process template id for US country

    We want to change the contents and links which are there in the MyFirstDays page under Life and Work Events.How do we do it? At present it shows the standard data which comes automatically when this life and work events was configured.Now we want to customize it in portal to show the new texts and links in it.Please suggest how to proceed.

    Hi,
    The suggested solution by Andy will not work as Life and Work Events is configured using Guided Procedures.So when we see the preview in the Content Admin we will see all the folders which were required for configuring Life and Work Events using GP.So it is not possible to do the changes using ctrl+right-click of the mouse.I guess there is some other way to edit the texts of MyFirstDays UI.Please suggest.
    Also how to convert the sda to ear or par files so that I can use it to edit the text in NWDS and deploy it again?
    If this modification is not possible in NWDS then could you please provide some links which will support to tell the client to ask for the NWDI configuration requirement.

    We are implementing Life and work events and we are trying to understand how the notifications work.
    for example we are executing birth/adoption  and in that we are executing address.when we change the address will the standard functionality send any notifications to the users who are specified as administrator,overseer during the starting of the process or it will directly update the IT 0006?
    If standard functionality doesnot send any notifications to users for approval process ,when we click on save in address screen ,we want to send notification to users and once they approved then we need to update IT 0006 and then create IT 0021.

  • Error when trying to launch Life and Work Event Processes on ESS ERP2005

    Hi Experts,
    I'm experiencing some problems after installing ESS ( on EP7.0 connected to a ECC6.0 ) on the LWE functionality.
    I've activated all the processes in the Guided Procedures, and I have assigned authorizations to the users that can start this processes, but I still get a java dump.
    You've probably faced same problems on your instalations. Could anyone help me out on this issue?

    As you are saying that you can view the same application in visual admin, can you please run it from portal webdynpro application (administrator view) and take preview. Please revert back on the on the deployment details of the same too by checking it localy.
    sathya component means application.... by the way there is no specific word for a java project in GP you can call it an application/ project/ service....

  • Radio Buttons, Global Binding, and Change Event

    I have a pair of radio button groups with the same name that I have set to Global binding.  The radio buttons in these radio button groups have script in the change event.  The problem is, when I click on a button in one group, it doesn't fire the change event in the other one, even though the corresponding button changes.  I can work around this, but I'm curious why this doesn't work.

    ocen12 is correct - the change event will only fire when a user clicks on the radiobutton. It will not fire when a script changes the value. I tried it here and found that the radio buttons on both groups act like they are under the same exclusion group. Do you see the same thing? If I select a value in the second exclusion group any value I had in the 1st one is gone.
