Deactivate F4-Value help in transaction PR05?

is there any way to disable the value help for the personnel number in transaction PR05 (or at least to remove columns inside the value help)?

You might have a look at its definition using transaction SE11. Click the Radio Button for SEARCH HELP and enter PREM, then click
DISPLAY. On the following screen you find the tabstrip "Included search helps" and in the list the search help PREMK for the
organizational assignment. Double-Click on PREMK to enter the search help. In the tabstrip DEFINITION you can remove
selection-method M_PREMK.

Need help with IQ02 - using a FM do update a value in this transaction

Hi,
I am trying to change the Aquisition value (as in transaction IQ02) using either of following FM:
ITOB_SERIALNO_MODIFY_SINGLE
SERIALNUMBER_LIST_UPDATE
However the changed value of field (ANSWT) is not getting reflected in database.
I tried ABAP4_COMMIT_WORK, but it didnt work.
I also tried, BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT but getting a express document message 'Update was terminated.'
Kindly help me with this. The only thing I need to do is to change the ANSWT (Aquisition value) field.

It's a bit dangerous to use SAP function modules that are not released to the user to update SAP data because they may not be a complete LUW. IE you may have to run other FMS either before or after. Try to find a BAPI. Maybe BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT is what you need.

Possible to get application parameter in value help

Hello colleagues,
we developed a value help for business partner to use it in an wda-component . in this value help only those business partner should get supplied where the user has a relationship to . to make it really difficult we can not use the backend user (crm) but the portal user . in the component which uses the value help we achieve to get the user via application parameter from the containing iview but as soon as the user calls the value help this context is lost and we can no longer use the application parameter (which is in fact "out" of the iview) to retrieve the user of the application and therefore get a dump.
Is there a possibility who to get application parameter of a component in a value help called by this component ?

This field is optional.
The parameter values are specified with the following syntax:

0FISCPER Value Help is not working on Multi Provider

Hi Friends,
I Have created a query on Multi Provider (based two ODS) and when i click on the value help for 0FISCPER while executing the report, it just hangs up and keep running, but never givel any values wvwn after 5 hours (I did not observed for moreathan 5hrs, propably it might go for dump).
The same Query with same selection varuiable on 0FISCPER gives the value help in just 30 sec in both Dev and QA systems.
When i try to use the same value help on bothe the ODS, it was working fine in all Dev, QA and Prod environments. But same on Multi Provide is working only in Dev and QA, but not in Prod.
One diff i sea, is larg amount of data in Prod, in bothe the ODS invloved in this MP.
Can you guys pls help...how to resolve this. I even try with different possible settings for MP through RSDIPROP transaction

It is the same case even...if i run it from RSRT. It just hangup for past 80mts.
I got some more information,
When i try to do the same from portal...i have got below Error messages in Dump.
Caused by: com.sap.ip.bi.base.exception.BIBaseRuntimeException: Jco exception thrown while executing function "BICS_PROV_GET_MEMBERS" against system "SAP_BW"
Caused by: com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: connection closed without message (CM_NO_DATA_RECEIVED)
Pls do share...if you got any more suggestions.

Overlapping Trips using Transaction PR05

We are in the process of upgrading from 4.6C to ECC 6.0. In our 4.6C system we allow overlapping trips between a Weekly Report (transaction PR04) and a Travel Expense Manager Report (transaction PR05). This is accomplished using feature TRVPA, the WRC part is set to 1. This part is working correctly in our new ECC 6.0 system. In our 4.6C system we are also allowed to have overlapping trips in just the Travel Expense Manager transaction. What we are experiencing with the ECC system is that this is no longer allowed. We get a hard error message stating that "trip data for that period already exists.
Is there any way around this? We have a need to allow overlapping trips using transaction PR05. Any help would be greatly appreciated seeing as we are to "go live" this weekend.

Assume you have gone through the transaction BAPI,
where you can find all relevant BAPI's .
select the relevant text such as "sales orders" - from the right side of the screen - check "Tools" tab,where you will find "Create BAPI list", click to search for the Function moduels.

ABAP Webdynpro cannot display value help, combo box properly in IE ?

I have problem developing webdynpro in NW 7.0 EHP1 SPS02. All the combo box, value help, drop down input did not properly display using IE 7.0 / 8.0. It is something like create another blank input beside the original object.
but everything ok if i am using mozilla firefox.
I am not sure what is the problem with this.

Thank you for your response, But i am still not able to solve the problem. Let me give you more detail information regarding this issue.
are you using the Portal? The other poster in this thread seems to think so, but I don't see anything in your postings to indicate that. IE7 is supported on your release/SP level. IE8 is not supported until SPS5.
=> I am not using portal it is just normal test from SAP GUI. I am using IE 8.0.6001.18702. So far i have tested the sample webdynpro "WDR_TEST_SELECT_OPTIONS" to 4 different server (PID, PIQ, ECD, ECQ) all using the same version NW 7.0 EHP 1 SPS02. (i have check for ABAP and BASIS package). The problem only occur in PID (Initially the icm service is not start so i use transaction SICF to start the webdynpro service) not sure if there is missing java script library ?

I would recommend clearing your browser cache and the server side cache. For the server side cache go to transaction SMICM and choose Administration->ICM->Exit Hard->Global.
I have restarted the whole server and i did again from SMICM. But still having the same problem like in the screen capture.
Are you using a standard or customized theme?
I am using standard theme base on demo "WDR_TEST_SELECT_OPTIONS"
Base on my latest investigation seems like those 3 success server PIQ, ECD and ECQ always download this file ls_ie6.nosprite.css in the internet temporary directory, but then no for PID.
is that any idea or suggestion that i can try to solve this problem. it seems like some configuration was missing for the standard theme in PID

F4 Value Help for Bex Variable (BRAIN646)

Hi ,
I set a authorization variable which allow user to select in a Bex query . When I run query and click value help on that variable, the system keep send a warning msg like :
Value if variable ZVAPLAMS is automatically converted
Message no. BRAIN646
Is there any way to suppress this warnning msg?

Hi Sims,
I had also the same Problem (BRAIN 646). I've debugged the Query with transaction rsudo -> Execute User as "User with warning" -> Possible Transaction "RSRT" -> Start Transaction.
The Transaction RSRT is opened and you can now debug your Query by klicking on "Execute + Debug" -> Expand "Variables" and activate "Customer Exit Variable (Before)".
Don't forget to enter your Queryname.
You are in Debuging-Mode and set Break-Points (see screenshots)
1. Set break-point on FORM VALUE_FROM_AUTHORITY_FILL then F8 and get in with F5
2. Set break-point on IF l_i1 <> l_i2. then F8 and you get your cursor on IF l_i1 <> l_i2.
You may see, if internal tables "l_i1" and "l_i2" have the same count of rows. If not take a look at "l_i1", if there Interval value exist, if internal value do exist. If interval values do exist and in "l_i2" doesn't than you have replace your variable " ZVAPLAMS" with another Variable (selection option). It has to be "Selection Option", than only selection option variable accept single values and interval values.

Limiting the value help for a user input variable as required

Hello Gurus,
I have a requirement :-
Restrict the value help for a user input variable in a query to only a required set of values instead of the default behaviour. ie instead of having all the values in the master data of that characteristics in the value help.
How do I go about it? - Do I have to explore the precalculated value set feature?
If so, please tell me how to go about it in BI 7.I would appreciate if you could explain it in detail rather than sending me a URL because I have gone through most of them but Iam yet to figure out how to create the broadcast setting and subsequent steps.

I believe if the User doesn't want to see any particular values in F4 help then it means they are not intrested in viewing the transaction data related to those values.
So why don't you restrict that object with the required values. Then the F4 help will automatically display only those values.

Custom Error Message in Value Help

Hi,
In my application i have a Inputfield called "CLASS", for which i have added a value help..it has these values
B    Business
E    Economy
F    First Class
When the user enters a value(say "X") other than B, E, and F, it displays a message
<b>String "X" does not match the enumeration</b>
I want to put my own message like " Please enter a valid value" instead of the above message.
Please let me know how to do this ?

First, "looping through the list and checking the user entered value with values in the list" is possible only with non-validating actions. Using non-validating actions is a tricky task in real life.
Second, workarounds are possible, but they involves calculated attributes (like here: /people/valery.silaev/blog/2005/11/29/800format-your-way). How do you use user defined error messages in Value Help?

Hi,
I'm currently working on a Modifiable Value Help Selector in Web Dynpro Java, and I want to use a user defined error message when I validate the values entered by a user. Currently, it's returning its default error message ("Character <string> does not match...").
Since the project requires a different error message, is there a way to override the default error message and use my defined error message instead?

Hi Angelo,
I am not sure why message area is showing both Custom and inbuilt messages but you can try the following:
i guess you must be using reportContextAttribute exception for showing Error messages on the input fields as well.in that case you can disable the message area so messages will appear only on the Context level ie; on input fields.
For other messages apart from validation messages you can enable the message area before reporting the exception.
make sure the boolean context variable which will be used for enabling and disabling the message area should have Readonly property set as true.
I am not sure whether this is the only solution for this but you can try and see if it works.

Hide Toolbar and Value help drop downlist

Hi,
I created a IF with a Value help drop down list. I also make use of the Hide Toolbar options. The drop down list has an input like:
key - text (eg. 0001 - Holiday)
The pdfMode is "UpdateDataInPdf".
When i run my wd everything works fine. What i want to do is this: when the user push the button "next" i want to show the IF in a read-only mode. What i did, is that when the user push to button i change the PdfMode from "UpdateDateInPdf" to "GeneratePdf" (also tried "UsePdf") and change the "enabled" property to false.
What happens is, the Adobe toolbar is back and the value help dorp downlist shows the key instead of the text.
If i don't change the "enabled" property it works well, but than it's still possible to change data in the form.
I am using NW04 SP16.

in general, right now there is no standard (i.e. non-hack) way to make a physical interactive PDF form read-only.
The only sure way this would work in your process is to send the data back to the backend and have a second (practically identical) template ready in the background to generate a read-only version of what the user saw previously.

Can you please tell me as to where should I create a field in the second popup view...??? After I double click on the link between "Start" and the "BAPI" in the second popup view...... , I find no "+" symbol in the "Configure Element Panel" using which I can add the value taken from the first popup view.....

Selection Screen - Text instead of Key in the value help

Hi ,
I have implemented selection options for Web dynpro.
The value help for the selection fields displays the key of the selected value (standard).
I would like to know if there is an option to display the text (instead of the key) in the field.
Key Text
01    AAAA
02    BBBB
03   CCCC
So if I select say - 01 and 03 in the value help, Can I display AAA, CCCC in the field (or next to the field)
