Deactivate lightroom??

I want to install my lightroom on my new MAC.
Must I deactivate Lightroom on my old computer before installing it on the new one?
Please help I can't find it in Lightroom and I know from eg Photoshop that it had to be deactivated before a new install is possible.

Thanks, Rich!

how to deactivate Lightroom 5.7 ??

I have no objection to what DdeGannes said, but in case still not clear:
Some software requires deactivation before it can be activated again somewhere else - Lightroom is NOT such a software.
    * Software + serial-number is all you need to run, de-installation to respect license agreement is based on the honor system, although there could be detection/protection mechanisms in place in case of abuse - dunno..

  • How do I deactivate Lightroom 4 on my old computer?

Tomorrow I am trading in my old computer (MacBook Pro) for a new computer.  How do I deactivate and uninstall Lightroom 4 on my old computer?
In Photoshop CS6 there was a "deactivate" option in the Help menu, but it is not there for Lightroom 4.

There is no deactivate.  Just uninstall it.

  • How do I deactivate Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC on a dead computer?

I have the Adobe CC, Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC installed on a dead laptop. I need to deactivate them on the old computer so I can install on the new one. I have not yet found a good way to do this. Can anyone help?

install the cc desktop app on a third computer and you will be prompted to sign out from the other two.

  • Deactivate Lightroom 1.4.1

I am decommissioning my WindowsXP machine and moving everything to my laptop Windows Vista.  I have installed the code on my Vista machine, but after I put in the serial number, the 'Next' button remains dimmed.
I went to my WindowsXP, launched Lightroom, and looked under Help to see if there was a Deactivate button in the menu. There is no Help->Deactivate, at least not on version 1.4.1.
How do I deactivate on the WindowsXP machine to allow me to activate on my Vista machine?

There are 24 digits in the serial number I have on my disc.  6 pairs of 4 digits.  The numbers I typed in on the Vista machine match the numbers that show up in the registration screen on the XP machine.
    Thank you for responding.

  • How can I deactivate Lightroom Mobile trial?

When upgrading I forgot to deactivate the option of trying Lightroom Mobile. I would like to do it now, but cannot find where or how...
    Thanks

That's a shame, I'm not going to pay twice for the same software.
I've deleted it from my iPad, now I need to stop Lightroom trying to synchronise with it.

  • How do deactivate Lightroom

I need to move Lightroom to a new laptop and can find no Deactivate under the Help menu. Can I just uninstall while connected?

Lightroom does not yet have any activation built in so there's no Help > Deactivate option.
Just uninstall on old computer and reinstall on new computer.

  • Deactivate Lightroom 3

When I type deactivate in the Lightroom help window NOTHING happens. What Do I do Now?

It's not an activated product, so it doesn't require deactivation.  Just stop using it or uninstall it.

  • Deactivate Lightroom serial?

How can I deactivate my lightroom serial so that others may use it?
    Or is it not necessary?

I just went through this as a purchaser. I picked up a legitimate boxed copy for $125. Adobe has a License Transfer Form that the seller and buyer fill out and fax in to Adobe. The seller has to call Adobe customer service and get a case number, then both the buyer and seller have to complete their parts of the form. The transfer takes 4-5 weeks, but in the meantime the purchaser can still install the program and complete the registration information and use the program. They just can't get support from Adobe until they are the licensed owner of record with Adobe.

  • How to deactivate Lightroom 6 ?

Deactivate does not appear in the Help menu of Lightroom 6 and yet I'm asked to deactivate a prior installation before I can finish installing a new installation. Where is the Deactivate option located? Every other Adobe product I've used has Deactivate located under Help.

On the other hand, if you enjoy your independence and sign out and consequently go somewhere with your laptop that has no internet connectivity, guess what? You are not able to use the "stand alone" product that you purchased. Several days in the desert shooting astro, third world countries, any place isolated, you see there are many reasons that the "activation" is a major hindrance. After all, we did choose to purchase the "stand alone" product.
Staying signed-in and staying connected to the internet appear to be two different things as far as standalone LR6 is concerned. From my limited testing, provided you have remained signed-in (and thus activated), you can go offline for as long as you like and continue to use your purchased product. Lightroom and/or the CC app will locally still have you recorded as "signed in", so it will continue to function. Also from my limited testing, there is no prescribed "call home" interval (unlike the CC version), so I think in theory you can carry on using the product even if you never ever reconnect to the internet. Problems would only arise should you need to reactivate for any reason (system rebuild, for example), in which case you would find it easier to go online (though I believe there is still an offline activation protocol).
I'd be interesting in knowing if other standalone users have a different experience.

  • Deactivate lightroom 4

I am about to upgrade my HDD to SSD, and need to deactivate LR4 prior transfer to new drive but there is no obvious way to deactvate in the Help menu. Any suggestions.

Personally I can not work at 2 computers at the same time
But of course you can  start  LR o n 2 computers at the same time.
    It's in the user agreement:
Portable or Home Computer Use. The primary user of the Computer on which the Software is installed may install a second copy of the Software for his or her exclusive use on either a portable Computer or a Computer located at his or her home, provided the Software on the portable or home Computer is not used at the same time as the Software on the primary Computer.

  • Deactivate lightroom 4 on old computer to put on new computer

I am running Lightroom4 on two computers.
I want to take it off the one of them to put it onto a new computer.
I cannot find a way to deactivate it from my old computer.

That's because there is no deactivation process. Uninstall it from the old computer. Then install on the new one.

  • How do deactivate lightroom for my mac? I have tried so much but i can't find it :/

    Need help asap:)

You use the normal procedure for your operating system
Windows you use the uninstall process through the control panel and Mac you just drag the app from your Applications folder to the trash.

  • How do I transfer Lightroom 4 license from one computer to another?

    Hi Adobe Community,
Recently I have purchased a new Windows laptop to replace an older one; in my attempt to transition all files and programs to the new one I found some difficulty in the transferring of lightroom 4.
I know that in order to transfer the license over I would need the serial number (of my purchase) as well as to deactivate lightroom on my old laptop (because I have only 2 codes, one is being used on a home computer and one on the laptop that I am attempting to transition away from, this might be the case for photoshop too). Normally, I would just go into lightroom and follow steps that other users have posted on this forum (going to Help--->System Info to get the serial number) but here is my problem:my laptop can't open light room and I can't seem to find the box of my purchase.
Is adobe able to email me the serial number that I have used or am I able to access lightroom files which could either: a) Allow lightroom to function on my older computer   OR   b) transfer files that could avoid the serial number process    OR C) Have my serial number available for observation.
If anyone is able to help, it would be GREAT!

This is a user-to-user forum so nobody here is going to be able to retrieve your serial number for you. However, if you registered Lightroom with Adobe then the serial number should be available from your account profile. Otherwise I think you need to contact customer "support".

  • Old computer died, can't activate Lightroom on new computer. Invalid serial number error.

My old computer fried. Obviously, didn't deactivate Lightroom. Installed Lightroom on new computer but can't activate... getting invalid serial number error. Trying to get thru to Adobe is a joke. Help.

Most likely, you downloaded the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom which will not accept your serial number. You need to uninstall it, reboot, then download the standalone version of Lightroom and install that.
