Warehouse Management for Third Party Logistic Company
Dear All,
I need your input for the following scenarios:
Company having 5 legal entities
One Legal entity ( X) is Mnaufacturing Cosmetics
Legal entities ( A, B & C ) are the Distribution Companies
5th legal entity ( Y ) is 3PL for the 3 Distribution Companies, A, B & C. Y has a warehouse which stocks the goods of the 3 distribution companies A, B and C. Inventory and goods still belongs to A, B & C
We need to implement warehouse management for Y ( 3 PL) company
Our proposition is to create warehouse structure which will address all the 3 legal entities ( A, B & C). So essentially the assumption is that warehouse is above the company code
We wanted to know the folloiwing:
1)If Y has to service all A, B and C at the same time and it needs to plan the routes for the deliveries created across the legal entities, how is this possible?
2) How will this impact the shipment planning, pick pack and the shipment cost?
Thanks in advance.I would assume you have separate sales orgs and distribution channels for A, B and C.
But you would have to tie them together at a higher level may be at the comp code level and plan the supply chain from a higher level.
A good forecasting tool will help in distributing and managing inventory across the 3 different distribution companies.
There has to be some type of segregation of distribution between the 3 companies either at geographic level or by volume or something else. Otherwise it will be a real complex business planning and forecasting process if the 3 companies overlap in all aspects.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.

Deactivating Warehouse management
Hi friends
I need to deactivate warehouse management for one of the plant (which is basically third party plant). Objective is to stop using WM for the particular plant / storage location combination. WM activities will be taken care separately by third party.
Please provide me information like what are the ways of doing the same. Whether removal of WH assignment will do ?/ what are the precautions to be taken.
Thanks
Pramod RaulHello Pramod,
Just delink WH assignment will not work, but you need to carry out some other process as well. The following thread will help.

To deactivate Batch Management
Hi,
Requirement: To deactivate Batch management for a material in plant.
I have already done the following:
1: Checked the Status of Article in MMBE for total batches of the article.
2: There are no open Purchase Order (Checked Table EKPO as well as ME2M)
3: There are no Purchase Requisitions. (Checked Table EBAN)
4: There is no Stock in Transit MB5T
5: There is no Plant availability Stock MB53
6: There is no Reservation MB25
7: Previous Period Stock is zero. Use MM03 with Plant Stock & Storage Loc. View. Both previous and current period stock is 0.
8: No Stock requirement exists (MD04)
9: The Batch Corresponding to the plant for the article is set for deletion indicator
(MSC2N)
But after all these when I uncheck 'Batch Management' in Purchasing tab of MM02, i get the message :
The batch management requirement cannot
be changed for the following reasons:
Batches already exist.
Please help adviseHi,
Please, delete any open documents and reverse any material movements on this material. If batches - even zero stock batches - are still assigned to the material, delete them and reorganize the tables MCH1, MCHA and MCHB. At this point the flag can be changed, also consider that :
1) If you want to change the batch management, it is not enough to
check for stock. You must also reorganize all existing batches for the
material. You can do this using the TA MM73 and MM74 or SARA. After
you have reorganized the batches you should be able to change
the batch management. The Object to use in the txn SARA is MM_SPSTOCK.
(You must first set the deletion flag for the batch using txn MSC2N. )
2) If you have defined the batch level in the TA OMCE to 'unique at
material level' it is not possible to turn off the batch management
flag in one plant. You can can only turn it off for all plants at the
same time. That means if you want to turn it off, the system checks
all plants for the existence of stock. In other words, the batch
management flag will be the same for all plants at any time if you
use the batch level 'unique at material level'.
Hope this can help

1.2 Lean WM Basic Settings
1.2.1 Defining Defining ControlControl Parameters and Number Ranges for the Warehouse Number Parameters for the Warehouse Number
Use
A warehouse number is an organizational unit in Logistics, which organizes the company from the perspective of Warehouse Management.
In the Warehouse Management System, you can define a variety of control parameters at warehouse number level.
Procedure
1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
 Picking  Shipping  Logistic Execution IMG Menu IMG Define control parameters and number ranges for the warehouse numberLean WM Define control parameters and number ranges for warehouse no.(double click)

1.2.2 Defining Storage Type
Use
A warehouse number is subdivided into a variety of storage types. A storage type is defined by its physical or organizational features (for example, high rack storage area, bulk storage, and goods receipt areas).
A storage type has a short description rather than an address.
Before you can implement Lean WM, you must configure the following settings:
1. Assign a (newly defined) storage location to a warehouse number.(This step is defined by step 3.12 Control Plant / Storage Location / Warehouse Number Assignment
2. You should set up at least three storage types:
a storage type (that will be used as a source storage type) with one or several fixed storage bins
a goods issue area (as destination storage type) for deliveries
an interim storage area for differences
Procedure
1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

1.2.7 Defining Movement Types
Use
The SAP R/3 System uses movement type to process movements in Inventory Management (for example, goods receipt for a purchase order or goods issue to a cost center). When the system recognizes a movement as being relevant for Warehouse Management, it assigns this movement to a WM movement type by means of a table.
The movement type for the Warehouse Management System provides the information required for stock removals or picking:
Interim storage bin

1.3 Print Control for Warehouse
Use
Print control defines the following:
Which slips are to be printed for the movements (that is, for the transfer orders) within the Warehouse Management System
How these slips are to be printed (that is, which forms are to be used, how many copies are to be printed)
On which printer a slip is to be printed automatically
And print control manages the print operations of the warehouse. This flexibility involves a certain degree of complexity with regard to the parameterization.
Procedure
1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
IMG Menu IMG Define Print Lean WM  Picking  Shipping Logistic Execution control
Transaction Code OMLV

1.4.1 Maintaining Number Range Intervals for Transfer Order
Use
Maintain number range intervals for transfer order
Procedure
In this step, you define that, the Number range for Transfer order as 01 and Group number as 01, now you should tell the system how the number range would like for 01 as transfer order and 01 for the group number, for both number range, you may define you own number range, the following information just for reference:
Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
 Logistic Execution IMG Menu IMG Define control parameters and number ranges for Lean WM  Picking Shipping Maintain number range intervals for transfer ordersthe warehouse number (double click)
Transaction Code LN02
Check if the internal number range 01 (0000000001-1000000000) has been defined
Once you have defined your number ranges, it is extremely difficult to change them afterwards when the objects concerned are filled with data.
Bear in mind that you will be entering data on a long-term basis. Create your number range intervals accordingly.
1.4.2 Maintaining Number Range Intervals for Reference Numbers
Use
Reference number range has the following meanings:
This number identifies a number range to be used for the assignment of sequential numbers for WM reference numbers. Reference numbers are used to create or print a group of transfer orders at one time.
A sequential number generated by the system for the purpose of multiple processing of transfer requirements and delivery notes.
The reference number can also be used to print the resulting transfer orders at a later time.
Procedure
In this step, you define that, the Number range for Transfer order as 01 and Group number as 01, now you should tell the system how the number range would like for 01 as transfer order and 01 for the group number, for both number range, you may define you own number range, the following information just for reference:
Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
IMG Menu IMG Define control parameters Lean WM  Picking  Shipping Logistic Execution Maintain number range intervals forand number ranges for the warehouse number Reference Numbers( double click)

Message LP327 WM Not active for plant
Dear All,
We have just upgraded our SAP system from 4.7 to ECC6.0, While doing a repetitive manufacturing backflush a warning has appeared (LP327 WM Not active for plant), the statement in the warning is correct, the plant is not active for WM, I was wondering if this particular warning could switched off.
Kind Regards
Mark SummerbellHi Mark,
The message is triggering from std SAP program RLLT0R00 and is defaulted to Error message. We cannot change that to warning message in that program.Pls try to search suitable OSS notes for the same.It looks like Extent WM is active for your plant so the message is issued.
Pls see below attached details of Extent WM

Benny
Extent Warehouse Management
Key that controls the use or the degree of activation of Warehouse Management for a storage location. The key controls whether bin stock is to be managed in the MM-WM component.
The field can have the following settings:
blank = normal management of stock in bins. The full range of functions provided by the MM-WM component is available.
1 = Lean WM for inbound or outbound deliveries. The delivery or pick is executed using transfer orders (from MM-WM). These transfer orders, however, do NOT update bin stock in Warehouse Management.
2 = For this storage location, you can use normal SD picking in combination with doors and staging areas. In this context, no Warehouse Management functions are activated.
3 = Lean WM for outbound deliveries. Picking occurs using transfer orders (from LE-WM). However, these transfer orders do NOT update bin stock in Warehouse Management.
4 = Lean WM for inbound deliveries. Putaway occurs using transfer orders (from LE-WM). These transfer orders do NOT, however, update bin stock in Warehouse Management -
Stock posting for warehouse managed plant
Dear All,
Our plant is warehouse managed.
I am unable to post the stock using 561 or 501 Movement types.
How to post the stock if the plant is warehouse managed?
Is there any spcial indicators available?
Kindly suggest?
MullairajaHi,
I think, my question is not phrased well.
My question is, if the plant is warehouse managed, do we need to use different movement types to post the stock?
Because, I was unable to post the stock using the movement types 561 or 501.
Please clarify.
Regards,
Mullairaja -
Can not see warehouse management data screens for material while extending.
I want to extend material for warehouse managment views.I can not see these views for the material in MM01.Looks like this is some thing to do with material type configuration. Can some one assist me how to do this?
1)Check whether the material exist for that plant and storage location which is assigned to warehouse number .
spro->enterprise structure->assignment->logistic execution->assign warehouse number to plant/sloc.
2) Check in OMS2 tcode in the material type setting WM view is selected. -

When i select account assignment as Cost center it is working but i dont want to select that assignment as per requirement.
And when i select Account assignment as UN (unknown that is also working fine.
What is the possible solution to get rid iof this error.

T-codes for warehouse management
hi.
can anybody gives the mostly used t-codes for warehouse managementSAP WMS - Decentralized Warehouse Management System Integration Setup
You can operate the SAP Warehouse Management System (WMS) as a stand-alone decentralized system that is independent of a central Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.
You make the necessary settings for the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system within the WMS component (Warehouse Management System).
The steps are set up as a checklist and guide you through the process of configuring the system parameters.
Checklist (For those with the Table Views used transaction code SM30).
1. Customizing for "Enterprise Structure"
- Create storage location in OX09 (if necessary).
- Define warehouse number in Views V_T3001.
(you should not copy the warehouse number in the ERP system)
Activities within a warehouse, like goods movements and physical inventory, are assigned to a specific
warehouse number.
The physical warehouse where these activities take place is identified by the warehouse number.
- Assign plant/storage location to warehouse number in Views V_T320.
(Valid if the component MM-IM (Inventory Management) is implemented.)
Fields : Plant + Sloc + WhN
2. Customizing for "Decentralized WMS integration", section "Central processing" -> Application
- Activate decentralized WMS in Views V_T340DM.
- Define interface to Inventory Management in Views :-
V_156S_WM - Assign WM movement type references to IM movement types
V_T3211 - Delivery-Relevant Parameters for Reference Movement Type
V_T340DL - Delivery-Relevant Data for Warehouse Number
- Exclude stock in decentralized WMS in Views V_T321B
(if the decentralized WMS is not an SAP R/3 system)
- Finally do a consistency check for decentralised WMS in transaction OL20.
3. Customizing for "Application Link Enabling (ALE)", section "Basis Components"
Maintaining Logical Systems in Views V_TBDLS.
Assign logical system to client in Views T000.
4. Make basic settings for RFC in transaction BD97.(if necessary)
5. Customizing for "Application Link Enabling (ALE)", section "Maintain Distribution Model"
You can define the Reduce message types and Activate message types in transaction BD53.
SAP recommends that you use message types :
"MATMAS" (material master tables) and
"DEBMAS" (customer master) as a template.
Be aware that only those fields that are absolutely necessary are transferred from the master data tables in
the ERP system to the decentralized WMS.
6. Customizing for "Decentralized WMS integration", section "Central processing" -> Distribution
Use transaction OL19 to generate distribution model. As far as the application is concerned, when the model
is generated, application-specific Customizing parameters are modified or set (for example, activate
decentralized WMS).
Display or check distribution model
Generate partner profile in transaction BD82.
(you can also perform this activity using ALE Customizing)
Distribute distribution model in transaction BD64 (model view) using menu item "Edit"
If both the ERP system and the decentralized WMS are SAP R/3 systems, the distribution model should be
distributed on a central basis only, that is, via the ERP system.
7. Customizing for "Application Link Enabling (ALE)", section "Maintain Distribution Model" (transaction BD64)
Activate the change pointers for master data distribution using transactin BD61.
If necessary, reduce the message types concerned with transaction BD53.
8. Customizing for
"Logistics - General" - "Material Master" - "Tools" - "Data Transfer : Material Master" -
-> "Define required-field check for ALE/Direct Input" (Views V_T130S)
Define whether an error message should be generated in the receiving system for required fields
from the material master.

Report for List of Transfer orders in warehouse management
hi,
i want generate a report for list of transfer order orders in warehouse management
is there any report with you guys kindly help me,
or any standard report is there to display list of transfer orders in warehouse management
Thanks,
Rajesh
Edited by: rajesh kumar kandagatla on Feb 11, 2009 9:27 PMHi,
If it is one time requirement, you can run the report LT23 and download the data to excel sheet and donwload material details in another sheet and you can match the temperature column in excel file.
If it is permanent requirement, create a query and attach transaction code to that or write a seperate report for this requirement.
Please let me know.
Thanks

Q&A db for warehouse management and inventory management
Hello Everybody,
i read on the help.sap website that standard as well as industry specific versions of Q&A db are available. but the website doesnt say where. i searched a lot but the links dont lead to the actual Q&A db.
i would like to request you to kindly share the Q&A db for inventory management and warehouse management with me as i need it for preparing the AS IS documentation.(preferably automotive industry but if not then even standard Q&A db is fine).
thanks a lot.
sapman. Now QADB will not help to map the clinets requirement. Instead of QADB get AS IS information form Coreusers... thats best practice now....
Go through www.sap-img.com for further details...
